Revelation 9

1. And the fifth <3991-pemptos-> angel <0032-aggelos->

sounded <4537-salpizo->, and I saw <1492-eido-> a star <0792-

aster-> fall <4098-pipto-> from heaven <3772-ouranos-> unto the

earth <1093-ge->: and to him was given <1325-didomi-> the key

<2807-kleis-> of the bottomless <0012-abussos-> pit <5421-phrear-

2 And he opened <0455-anoigo-> the bottomless <0012-

abussos-> pit <5421-phrear->; and there arose <0305-anabaino-> a

smoke <2586-kapnos-> out of the pit <5421-phrear->, as the smoke

<2586-kapnos-> of a great <3173-megas-> furnace <2575-kaminos->;

and the sun <2246-helios-> and the air <0109-aer-> were darkened

<4654-skotizo-> by reason <1537-ek-> of the smoke <2586-kapnos->

of the pit <5421-phrear->.

3 And there came <1831-exerchomai-> out of the smoke <2586-

kapnos-> locusts <0200-akris-> upon the earth <1093-ge->: and

unto them was given <1325-didomi-> power <1849-exousia->, as the

scorpions <4651-skorpios-> of the earth <1093-ge-> have <2192-

echo-> power <1849-exousia->.

4 And it was commanded <4483-rheo-> them that they should

not hurt <0091-adikeo-> the grass <5528-chortos-> of the earth

<1093-ge->, neither any <3956-pas-> green <5515-chloros-> thing,

neither any <3956-pas-> tree <1186-dendron->; but only <3441-

monos-> those <3588-ho-> men <0444-anthropos-> which <3748-

hostis-> have <2192-echo-> not the seal <4973-sphragis-> of God

<2316-theos-> in their foreheads <3359-metopon->.

5 And to them it was given <1325-didomi-> that they should

not kill <0615-apokteino-> them, but that they should be

tormented <0928-basanizo-> five <4002-pente-> months <3376-men->:

and their torment <0929-basanismos-> [was] as the torment <0929-

basanismos-> of a scorpion <4651-skorpios->, when <3752-hotan->

he striketh <3817-paio-> a man <0444-anthropos->.

6 And in those <1565-ekeinos-> days <2250-hemera-> shall

men <0444-anthropos-> seek <2212-zeteo-> death <2288-thanatos->,

and shall not find <2147-heurisko-> it; and shall desire <1937-

epithumeo-> to die <0599-apothnesko->, and death <2288-thanatos-

> shall flee <5343-pheugo-> from them.

7 And the shapes <3667-homoioma-> of the locusts <0200-

akris-> [were] like <3664-homoios-> unto horses <2462-hippos->

prepared <2090-hetoimazo-> unto battle <4171-polemos->; and on

<1909-epi-> their heads <2776-kephale-> [were] as it were crowns

<4735-stephanos-> like <3664-homoios-> gold <5557-chrusos->, and

their faces <4383-prosopon-> [were] as the faces <4383-prosopon-

> of men <0444-anthropos->.

8 And they had <2192-echo-> hair <2359-thrix-> as the hair

<2359-thrix-> of women <1135-gune->, and their teeth <3599-odous-

> were as [the teeth] of lions <3023-leon->.

9 And they had <2192-echo-> breastplates <2382-thorax->,

as it were breastplates <2382-thorax-> of iron <4603-sidereos->;

and the sound <5456-phone-> of their wings <4420-pterux-> [was]

as the sound <5456-phone-> of chariots <0716-harma-> of many

<4183-polus-> horses <2462-hippos-> running <5143-trecho-> to

battle <4171-polemos->.

10 And they had <2192-echo-> tails <3769-oura-> like <3664-

homoios-> unto scorpions <4651-skorpios->, and there were stings

<2759-kentron-> in their tails <3769-oura->: and their power

<1849-exousia-> [was] to hurt <0091-adikeo-> men <0444-anthropos-

> five <4002-pente-> months <3376-men->.

11 And they had <2192-echo-> a king <0935-basileus-> over

<1909-epi-> them, [which is] the angel <0032-aggelos-> of the

bottomless <0012-abussos-> pit, whose <0846-autos-> name <3686-

onoma-> in the Hebrew <1447-Hebraisti-> tongue <1447-Hebraisti->

[is] Abaddon <0003-Abaddon->, but in the Greek <1673-Hellenikos-

> tongue hath <2192-echo-> [his] name <3686-onoma-> Apollyon

<0623-Apolluon->.

12 One <3391-mia-> woe <3759-ouai-> is past <0565-

aperchomai->; [and], behold <2400-idou->, there come <2064-

erchomai-> two <1417-duo-> woes <3759-ouai-> more <2089-eti->

hereafter <5023-tauta->.

13. And the sixth <1623-hektos-> angel <0032-aggelos->

sounded <4537-salpizo->, and I heard <0191-akouo-> a voice <5456-

phone-> from the four <5064-tessares-> horns <2768-keras-> of

the golden <5552-chruseos-> altar <2379-thusiasterion-> which

<3588-ho-> is before <1799-enopion-> God <2316-theos->,

14 Saying <3004-lego-> to the sixth <1623-hektos-> angel

which <3739-hos-> had <2192-echo-> the trumpet <4536-salpigx->,

Loose <3089-luo-> the four <5064-tessares-> angels <0032-aggelos-

> which <3588-ho-> are bound <1210-deo-> in the great <3173-

megas-> river <4215-potamos-> Euphrates <2166-Euphrates->.

15 And the four <5064-tessares-> angels <0032-aggelos->

were loosed <3089-luo->, which <3588-ho-> were prepared <2090-

hetoimazo-> for an hour <5610-hora->, and a day <2250-hemera->,

and a month <3376-men->, and a year <1763-eniautos->, for to

slay <0615-apokteino-> the third <5154-tritos-> part of men

<0444-anthropos->.

16 And the number <0706-arithmos-> of the army <4753-

strateuma-> of the horsemen <2461-hippikon-> [were] two <1417-

duo-> hundred <3461-murias-> thousand <3461-murias-> thousand

<3461-murias->: and I heard <0191-akouo-> the number <0706-

arithmos-> of them.

17 And thus <3779-houto-> I saw <1492-eido-> the horses

<2462-hippos-> in the vision <3706-horasis->, and them that sat

<2521-kathemai-> on <1909-epi-> them, having <2192-echo->

breastplates <2382-thorax-> of fire <4447-purinos->, and of

jacinth <5191-huakinthinos->, and brimstone <2306-theiodes->:

and the heads <2776-kephale-> of the horses <2462-hippos->

[were] as the heads <2776-kephale-> of lions <3023-leon->; and

out of their mouths <4750-stoma-> issued <1607-ekporeuomai->

fire <4442-pur-> and smoke <2586-kapnos-> and brimstone <2303-

theion->.

18 By these <5103-Titos-> three <5140-treis-> was the

third <5154-tritos-> part of men <0444-anthropos-> killed <0615-

apokteino->, by the fire <4442-pur->, and by the smoke <2586-

kapnos->, and by the brimstone <2303-theion->, which <3588-ho->

issued <1607-ekporeuomai-> out of their mouths <4750-stoma->.

19 For their power <1849-exousia-> is in their mouth <4750-

stoma->, and in their tails <3769-oura->: for their tails <3769-

oura-> [were] like <3664-homoios-> unto serpents <3789-ophis->,

and had <2192-echo-> heads <2776-kephale->, and with them they

do hurt <0091-adikeo->.

20 And the rest <3062-loipoy-> of the men <0444-anthropos-

> which <3739-hos-> were not killed <0615-apokteino-> by these

<5025-tautais-> plagues <4127-plege-> yet repented <3340-

metanoeo-> not of the works <2041-ergon-> of their hands <5495-

cheir->, that they should not worship <4352-proskuneo-> devils

<1140-daimonion->, and idols <1497-eidolon-> of gold <5552-

chruseos->, and silver <0693-argureos->, and brass <5470-

chalkeos->, and stone <3035-lithinos->, and of wood <3585-

xulinos->: which <3739-hos-> neither <3777-oute-> can <1410-

dunamai-> see <0991-blepo->, nor <3777-oute-> hear <0191-akouo->,

nor <3777-oute-> walk <4043-peripateo->:

21 Neither <3756-ou-> repented <3340-metanoeo-> they of

their murders <5408-phonos->, nor <3777-oute-> of their

sorceries <5331-pharmakeia->, nor <3777-oute-> of their

fornication <4202-porneia->, nor <3777-oute-> of their thefts

<2809-klemma->.
