  • 7 O Lord <0136 >Adonay >, righteousness <6666 ts@daqah >

  • [belongeth] unto thee, but unto us confusion <1322 bosheth > of

  • faces <6440 paniym >, as at this <2088 zeh > day <3117 yowm >;

  • to the men <0376 >iysh > of Judah <3063 Y@huwdah >, and to the

  • inhabitants <3427 yashab > of Jerusalem <3389 Y@ruwshalaim >,

  • and unto all <3605 kol > Israel <3478 Yisra>el >, [that are]

  • thou hast driven <5080 nadach > them, because of their trespass

  • thee.







  • 8 O Lord <0136 >Adonay >, to us [belongeth] confusion <1322

  • bosheth > of face <6440 paniym >, to our kings <4428 melek >, to

  • our princes <8269 sar >, and to our fathers <1>, because <0834

  • >aher > we have sinned <2398 chata> > against thee.







  • 9 To the Lord <0136 >Adonay > our God <0430 >elohiym > [belong]

  • mercies <7356 racham > and forgivenesses <5547 c@liychah >,

  • though <3588 kiy > we have rebelled <4775 marad > against him;







  • 10 Neither <3808 lo> > have we obeyed <8085 shama< > the voice

  • <6963 qowl > of the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > our God <0430 >elohiym

  • >, to walk <3212 yalak > in his laws <8451 towrah >, which <0834

  • 11 Yea, all <3605 kol > Israel <3478 Yisra>el > have

  • transgressed <5674 <abar > thy law <8451 towrah >, even by

  • departing <5493 cuwr >, that they might not obey <8085 shama< >

  • thy voice <6963 qowl >; therefore the curse <0423 >alah > is

  • poured <5413 nathak > upon us, and the oath <7621 sh@buw<ah >

  • that [is] written <3789 kathab > in the law <8451 towrah > of

  • Moses <4872 Mosheh > the servant <5650 <ebed > of God <0430

  • >elohiym >, because <3588 kiy > we have sinned <2398 chata> >

  • against him.







  • 12 And he hath confirmed <6965 quwm > his words <1697 dabar >,

  • which <0834 >aher > he spake <1696 dabar > against <5921 <al >

  • us, and against <5921 <al > our judges <8199 shaphat > that

  • judged <8199 shaphat > us, by bringing <0935 bow> > upon us a

  • <7451 ra< > is come <0935 bow> > upon us: yet made we not our

  • prayer <2470 chalah > before the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > our God

  • <0430 >elohiym >, that we might turn <7725 shuwb > from our

  • iniquities <5771 <avon >, and understand <7919 sakal > thy truth

  • 14 Therefore hath the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > watched <8245 shaqad

  • > upon the evil <7451 ra< >, and brought <0935 bow> > it upon us:

  • for the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > our God <0430 >elohiym > [is]

  • righteous <6662 tsaddiyq > in all <3605 kol > his works <4639

  • 15 And now <6258 <attah >, O Lord <0136 >Adonay > our God <0430

  • >elohiym >, that hast brought <3318 yatsa> > thy people <5971

  • <am > forth <3318 yatsa> > out of the land <0776 >erets > of

  • Egypt <4714 Mitsrayim > with a mighty <2389 chazaq > hand <3027

  • righteousness <6666 ts@daqah >, I beseech <4994 na> > thee, let

  • thine anger <0639 >aph > and thy fury <2534 chemah > be turned

  • <7725 shuwb > away from thy city <5892 <iyr > Jerusalem <3389

  • Y@ruwshalaim >, thy holy <6944 qodesh > mountain <2022 har >:

  • iniquities <5771 <avon > of our fathers <1>, Jerusalem <3389

  • 17 Now <6258 <attah > therefore, O our God <0430 >elohiym >,

  • hear <8085 shama< > the prayer <8605 t@phillah > of thy servant

  • <5650 <ebed >, and his supplications <8469 tachanuwn >, and

  • cause thy face <6440 paniym > to shine <0215 >owr > upon thy

  • sanctuary <4720 miqdash > that is desolate <8074 shamem >, for

  • the Lord's <0136 >Adonay > sake <4616 ma<an >.







  • 18 O my God <0430 >elohiym >, incline <5186 natah > thine ear

  • <0241 >ozen >, and hear <8085 shama< >; open <6491 paqach >

  • thine eyes <5869 <ayin >, and behold <7200 ra>ah > our

  • desolations <8074 shamem >, and the city <5892 <iyr > which

  • <0834 >aher > is called <7121 qara> > by thy name <8034 shem >:

  • for we do not present <5307 naphal > our supplications <8469

  • tachanuwn > before <6440 paniym > thee for our righteousnesses

  • <6666 ts@daqah >, but for thy great <7227 rab > mercies <7356

  • 19 O Lord <0136 >Adonay >, hear <8085 shama< >; O Lord <0136

  • >Adonay >, forgive <5545 calach >; O Lord <0136 >Adonay >,

  • hearken <7181 qashab > and do <6213 <asah >; defer <0309 >achar

  • > not, for thine own sake <4616 ma<an >, O my God <0430 >elohiym

  • >: for thy city <5892 <iyr > and thy people <5971 <am > are

  • chatta>ah > and the sin <2403 chatta>ah > of my people <5971 <am

  • > Israel <3478 Yisra>el >, and presenting <5307 naphal > my

  • supplication <8467 t@chinnah > before <6440 paniym > the LORD

  • <3068 Y@hovah > my God <0430 >elohiym > for the holy <6944

  • qodesh > mountain <2022 har > of my God <0430 >elohiym >;







  • 21 Yea, whiles I [was] speaking <1696 dabar > in prayer <8605

  • t@phillah >, even the man <0376 >iysh > Gabriel <1403 Gabriy>el

  • >, whom <0834 >aher > I had seen <7200 ra>ah > in the vision

  • <2377 chazown > at the beginning <8462 t@chillah >, being caused

  • give thee skill <7919 sakal > and understanding <0998 biynah >.







  • 23 At the beginning <8462 t@chillah > of thy supplications

  • <8469 tachanuwn > the commandment <1697 dabar > came <3318

  • yatsa> > forth <3318 yatsa> >, and I am come <0935 bow> > to

  • shew <5046 nagad > [thee]; for thou [art] greatly beloved <2530

  • chamad >: therefore understand <0995 biyn > the matter <1697

  • dabar >, and consider <0995 biyn > the vision <2377 chazown >.







  • 24 Seventy <7657 shib<iym. > weeks <7620 shabuwa< > are

  • determined <2852 chathak > upon thy people <5971 <am > and upon

  • thy holy <6944 qodesh > city <5892 <iyr >, to finish <3607 kala>

  • > the transgression <6588 pesha< >, and to make an end <2856

  • chatham > of sins <2403 chatta>ah >, and to make reconciliation

  • <3722 kaphar > for iniquity <5771 <avon >, and to bring <0935

  • bow> > in everlasting <5769 <owlam > righteousness <6664 tsedeq

  • >, and to seal <2856 chatham > up the vision <2377 chazown > and

  • prophecy <5030 nabiy> >, and to anoint <4886 mashach > the most

  • <6944 qodesh > Holy <6944 qodesh >.











  • 25 Know <3045 yada< > therefore and understand <7919 sakal >,

  • [that] from the going <4161 mowtsa> > forth <4161 mowtsa> > of

  • the commandment <1697 dabar > to restore <7725 shuwb > and to

  • build <1129 banah > Jerusalem <3389 Y@ruwshalaim > unto the

  • Messiah <4899 mashiyach > the Prince <5057 nagiyd > [shall be]

  • seven <7651 sheba< > weeks <7620 shabuwa< >, and threescore

  • <8346 shishshiym > and two <8147 sh@nayim > weeks <7620 shabuwa<

  • >: the street <7339 r@chob > shall be built <1129 banah > again

  • <7725 shuwb >, and the wall <2742 charuwts >, even in troublous

  • 26 And after <0310 >achar > threescore <8346 shishshiym > and

  • two <8147 sh@nayim > weeks <7620 shabuwa< > shall Messiah <4899

  • mashiyach > be cut <3772 karath > off, but not for himself: and

  • the people <5971 <am > of the prince <5057 nagiyd > that shall

  • come <0935 bow> > shall destroy <7843 shachath > the city <5892

  • <iyr > and the sanctuary <6944 qodesh >; and the end <7093 qets

  • > thereof [shall be] with a flood <7858 sheteph >, and unto the

  • end <7093 qets > of the war <4421 milchamah > desolations <8074

  • shamem > are determined <2782 charats >.







  • 27 And he shall confirm <1396 gabar > the covenant <1285

  • b@riyth > with many <7227 rab > for one <0259 >echad > week

  • <7620 shabuwa< >: and in the midst <2677 chetsiy > of the week

  • <7620 shabuwa< > he shall cause the sacrifice <2077 zebach > and

  • the oblation <4503 minchah > to cease <7673 shabath >, and for

  • the overspreading <3671 kanaph > of abominations <8251 shiqquwts

  • > he shall make [it] desolate <8074 shamem >, even until <5704

  • <ad > the consummation <3617 kalah >, and that determined <2782

  • charats > shall be poured <5413 nathak > upon the desolate <8076

  • shamem >.
