bread <3899 lechem >, neither <3808 lo> > came <0935 bow> >

flesh <1320 basar > nor <3808 lo> > wine <3196 yayin > in my

mouth <6310 peh >, neither <3808 lo> > did I anoint <5480 cuwk >

5 Then I lifted <5375 nasa> > up mine eyes <5869 <ayin >, and

looked <7200 ra>ah >, and behold <2009 hinneh > a certain <0259

>echad > man <0376 >iysh > clothed <3847 labash > in linen <0906

bad >, whose loins <4975 mothen > [were] girded <2296 chagar >

with fine gold <3800 kethem > of Uphaz <0210 >Uwphaz >:

6 His body <1472 g@viyah > also [was] like the beryl <8658

tarshiysh >, and his face <6440 paniym > as the appearance <4758

mar>eh > of lightning <1300 baraq >, and his eyes <5869 <ayin >

as lamps <3940 lappiyd > of fire <0784 >esh >, and his arms

and the voice <6963 qowl > of his words <1697 dabar > like the

voice <6963 qowl > of a multitude <1995 hamown >.

7 And I Daniel <1840 Daniye>l > alone <0905 bad > saw <7200

ra>ah > the vision <4759 mar>ah >: for the men <0582 >enowsh >

that were with me saw <7200 ra>ah > not the vision <4759 mar>ah

>; but a great <1419 gadowl > quaking <2731 charadah > fell

<5307 naphal > upon them, so that they fled <1272 barach > to

hide <2244> themselves.

8 Therefore I was left <7604 sha>ar > alone <0905 bad >, and

saw <7200 ra>ah > this great <1419 gadowl > vision <4759 mar>ah

>, and there remained <7604 sha>ar > no <3808 lo> > strength

9 Yet heard <8085 shama< > I the voice <6963 qowl > of his

words <1697 dabar >: and when I heard <8085 shama< > the voice

<6963 qowl > of his words <1697 dabar >, then was I in a deep

<7290 radam > sleep <7290 radam > on my face <6440 paniym >, and

my face <6440 paniym > toward the ground <0776 >erets >.

10. And, behold <2009 hinneh >, an hand <3027 yad > touched

<5060 naga< > me, which set <5128 nuwa< > me upon my knees <1290

berek > and [upon] the palms <3709 kaph > of my hands <3027 yad

11 And he said <0559 >amar > unto me, O Daniel <1840 Daniye>l >,

a man <0376 >iysh > greatly beloved <2530 chamad >, understand

<0995 biyn > the words <1697 dabar > that I speak <1696 dabar >

unto thee, and stand <5975 <amad > upright <5977 <omed >: for

unto thee am I now <6258 <attah > sent <7971 shalach >. And when

he had spoken <1696 dabar > this <2088 zeh > word <1697 dabar >

unto me, I stood <5975 <amad > trembling <7460>.

12 Then said <0559 >amar > he unto me, Fear <3372 yare> > not,

Daniel <1840 Daniye>l >: for from the first <7223 ri>shown > day

<3117 yowm > that thou didst set <5414 nathan > thine heart

<3820 leb > to understand <0995 biyn >, and to chasten <6031

<anah > thyself before <6440 paniym > thy God <0430 >elohiym >,

thy words <1697 dabar > were heard <8085 shama< >, and I am come

13 But the prince <8269 sar > of the kingdom <4438 malkuwth >

of Persia <6539 Parac > withstood <5975 <amad > me one <0259

>echad > and twenty <6242 <esriym > days <3117 yowm >: but, lo

<2009 hinneh >, Michael <4317 Miyka>el >, one <0259 >echad > of

the chief <7223 ri>shown > princes <8269 sar >, came <0935 bow>

14 Now I am come <0935 bow> > to make thee understand <0995

biyn > what shall befall <7136 qarah > thy people <5971 <am > in

<owd > the vision <2377 chazown > [is] for [many] days <3117

yowm >.

15 And when he had spoken <1696 dabar > such <0428 >el-leh >

words <1697 dabar > unto me, I set <5414 nathan > my face <6440

paniym > toward the ground <0776 >erets >, and I became <0481

>alam > dumb <0481 >alam >.

16 And, behold <2009 hinneh >, [one] like the similitude <1823

d@muwth > of the sons <1121 ben > of men <0120 >adam > touched

<5060 naga< > my lips <8193 saphah >: then I opened <6605

pathach > my mouth <6310 peh >, and spake <1696 dabar >, and

said <0559 >amar > unto him that stood <5975 <amad > before

<6440 paniym > me, O my lord <0113 >adown >, by the vision <4758

mar>eh > my sorrows <6735 tsiyr > are turned <2015 haphak > upon

me, and I have retained <6113 <atsar > no <3808 lo> > strength

17 For how <1963 heyk > can <3201 yakol > the servant <5650

<ebed > of this <2088 zeh > my lord <0113 >adown > talk <1696

dabar > with this <2088 zeh > my lord <0113 >adown >? for as for

me, straightway <6258 <attah > there remained <5975 <amad > no

<3808 lo> > strength <3581 koach > in me, neither <3808 lo> > is

there breath <5397 n@shamah > left <7604 sha>ar > in me.

18 Then there came again <3284 ya<anah > and touched <5060

naga< > me [one] like the appearance <4758 mar>eh > of a man

<0120 >adam >, and he strengthened <2388 chazaq > me,

19 And said <0559 >amar >, O man <0376 >iysh > greatly beloved

<2530 chamad >, fear <3372 yare> > not: peace <7965 shalowm >

[be] unto thee, be strong <2388 chazaq >, yea, be strong <2388

chazaq >. And when he had spoken <1696 dabar > unto me, I was

strengthened <2388 chazaq >, and said <0559 >amar >, Let my lord

<0113 >adown > speak <1696 dabar >; for thou hast strengthened

<2388 chazaq > me.

20 Then said <0559 >amar > he, Knowest <3045 yada< > thou

wherefore <4100 mah > I come <0935 bow> > unto thee? and now

<6258 <attah > will I return <7725 shuwb > to fight <3898 lacham

> with the prince <8269 sar > of Persia <6539 Parac >: and when

I am gone <3318 yatsa> > forth <3318 yatsa> >, lo <2009 hinneh >,

the prince <8269 sar > of Grecia <3120 Yavan > shall come <0935

bow> >.

21 But I will shew <5046 nagad > thee that which is noted <7559

rasham > in the scripture <3791 kathab > of truth <0571 >emeth >:

and [there is] none <0369 >ayin > that holdeth <2388 chazaq >

with me in these <0428 >el-leh > things, but Michael <4317
