1. Go <0033-age-> to now <3568-nun->, [ye] rich <4145-plousios-

eperchomai-> upon [you].

2 Your <5216-humon-> riches <4149-ploutos-> are corrupted <4595-

sepo->, and your <5216-humon-> garments <2440-himation-> are

motheaten <4598-setobrotos->.

3 Your <5216-humon-> gold <5557-chrusos-> and silver <0696-

arguros-> is cankered <2728-katioo->; and the rust <2447-ios->

of them shall be a witness <3142-marturion-> against <2596-kata-

> you, and shall eat <5315-phago-> your <5216-humon-> flesh

<4561-sarx-> as it were fire <4442-pur->. Ye have heaped <2343-

thesaurizo-> treasure <2343-thesaurizo-> together for the last

<2078-eschatos-> days <2250-hemera->.

4 Behold <2400-idou->, the hire <3408-misthos-> of the

labourers <2040-ergates-> who <3588-ho-> have reaped <0270-amao-

> down your <5216-humon-> fields <5561-chora->, which <3588-ho->

is of you kept <0650-apostereo-> back <0650-apostereo-> by fraud

<0650-apostereo->, crieth <2896-krazo->: and the cries <0995-boe-

> of them which have reaped <2325-therizo-> are entered <1525-

eiserchomai-> into <1519-eis-> the ears <3775-ous-> of the Lord

<2962-kurios-> of sabaoth <4519-sabaoth->.

5 Ye have lived <5171-truphao-> in pleasure <5171-truphao-> on

<1909-epi-> the earth <1093-ge->, and been wanton <4684-spatalao-

>; ye have nourished <5142-trepho-> your <5216-humon-> hearts

<2588-kardia->, as in a day <2250-hemera-> of slaughter <4967-

sphage->.

6 Ye have condemned <2613-katadikazo-> [and] killed <5407-

phoneuo-> the just <1342-dikaios->; [and] he doth not resist

<0498-antitassomai-> you.

7 Be patient <3114-makrothumeo-> therefore <3767-oun->,

brethren <0080-adephos->, unto the coming <3952-parousia-> of

the Lord <2962-kurios->. Behold <2400-idou->, the husbandman

<1092-georgos-> waiteth <1551-ekdechomai-> for the precious

<5093-timios-> fruit <2590-karpos-> of the earth <1093-ge->, and

hath long <3114-makrothumeo-> patience <3114-makrothumeo-> for

it, until <2193-heos-> he receive <2983-lambano-> the early

<4406-proimos-> and latter <3797-opsimos-> rain <5205-huetos->.

8 Be ye also <2532-kai-> patient <3114-makrothumeo->; stablish

<4741-sterizo-> your <5216-humon-> hearts <2588-kardia->: for

the coming <3952-parousia-> of the Lord <2962-kurios-> draweth

nigh <1448-eggizo->.

9 Grudge <4727-stenazo-> not one <0240-allelon-> against <2596-

kata-> another <0240-allelon->, brethren <0080-adephos->, lest

<3361-me-> ye be condemned <2632-katakrino->: behold <2400-idou-

>, the judge <2923-krites-> standeth <2476-histemi-> before

<4253-pro-> the door <2374-thura->.

10 Take <2983-lambano->, my brethren <0080-adephos->, the

prophets <4396-prophetes->, who <3739-hos-> have spoken <2980-

laleo-> in the name <3686-onoma-> of the Lord <2962-kurios->,

for an example <5262-hupodeigma-> of suffering <2552-kakopatheia-

> affliction <2552-kakopatheia->, and of patience <3115-

makrothumia->.

11 Behold <2400-idou->, we count <3106-makarizo-> them happy

<3106-makarizo-> which endure <5278-hupomeno->. Ye have heard

<0191-akouo-> of the patience <5281-hupomone-> of Job <2492-Iob-

>, and have seen <1492-eido-> the end <5056-telos-> of the Lord

<2962-kurios->; that the Lord <2962-kurios-> is very <4184-

polusplagchnos-> pitiful <4184-polusplagchnos->, and of tender

<3629-oiktirmon-> mercy <3629-oiktirmon->.

12. But above <4253-pro-> all <3956-pas-> things, my brethren

<0080-adephos->, swear <3660-omnuo-> not, neither <3383-mete->

by heaven <3772-ouranos->, neither <3383-mete-> by the earth

<1093-ge->, neither <3383-mete-> by any <5100-tis-> other <0243-

allos-> oath <3727-horkos->: but let your <5216-humon-> yea

<3483-nai-> be yea <3483-nai->; and [your <3588-ho->] nay <3756-

ou->, nay <3756-ou->; lest <3361-me-> ye fall <4098-pipto-> into

<5259-hupo-> condemnation <5272-hupokrisis->.

13 Is any <5100-tis-> among <1722-en-> you afflicted <2553-

kakopatheo->? let him pray <4336-proseuchomai->. Is any <5100-

tis-> merry <2114-euthumeo->? let him sing <5567-psallo-> psalms

<5567-psallo->.

14 Is any <5100-tis-> sick <0770-astheneo-> among <1722-en->

you? let him call <4341-proskaleomai-> for the elders <4245-

presbuteros-> of the church <1577-ekklesia->; and let them pray

<4336-proseuchomai-> over <1909-epi-> him, anointing <0218-

aleipho-> him with oil <1637-elaion-> in the name <3686-onoma->

of the Lord <2962-kurios->:

15 And the prayer <2171-euche-> of faith <4102-pistis-> shall

save <4982-sozo-> the sick <2577-kamno->, and the Lord <2962-

kurios-> shall raise <1453-egeiro-> him up; and if he have

committed <4160-poieo-> sins <0266-hamartia->, they shall be

forgiven <0863-aphiemi-> him.

16 Confess <1843-exomologeo-> [your <3588-ho->] faults <3900-

paraptoma-> one <0240-allelon-> to another <0240-allelon->, and

pray <2172-euchomai-> one <0240-allelon-> for another <0240-

allelon->, that ye may be healed <2390-iaomai->. The effectual

<1754-energeo-> fervent prayer <1162-deesis-> of a righteous

<1342-dikaios-> man availeth <2480-ischuo-> much <4183-polus->.

17 Elias <2243-Helias-> was a man <0444-anthropos-> subject

<3663-homoiopathes-> to like <3663-homoiopathes-> passions <3663-

homoiopathes-> as we are, and he prayed <4336-proseuchomai->

earnestly <4335-proseuche-> that it might not rain <1026-brecho-

>: and it rained <1026-brecho-> not on <1909-epi-> the earth

<1093-ge-> by the space of three <5140-treis-> years <1763-

eniautos-> and six <1803-hex-> months <3376-men->.

18 And he prayed <4336-proseuchomai-> again <3825-palin->, and

the heaven <3772-ouranos-> gave <1325-didomi-> rain <5205-huetos-

>, and the earth <1093-ge-> brought <0985-blastano-> forth <0985-

blastano-> her fruit <2590-karpos->.

19 Brethren <0080-adephos->, if <1437-ean-> any <1536-ei tis->

of you do err <4105-planao-> from the truth <0225-aletheia->,

and one <5100-tis-> convert <1994-epistrepho-> him;

20 Let him know <1097-ginosko->, that he which converteth <1994-

epistrepho-> the sinner <0268-hamartolos-> from the error <4106-

plane-> of his way <3598-hodos-> shall save <4982-sozo-> a soul

<5590-psuche-> from death <2288-thanatos->, and shall hide <2572-

kalupto-> a multitude <4128-plethos-> of sins <0266-hamartia->.
