  • 7:2 For the woman 1135 -gune which hath 5220 -hupandros an

  • husband 5220 -hupandros is bound 1210 -deo by the law 3551 -

  • nomos to [her] husband 0435 -aner so long as he liveth 2198 -zao

  • ; but if 1437 -ean the husband 0435 -aner be dead 0599 -

  • apothnesko , she is loosed 2673 -katargeo from the law 3551 -

  • nomos of [her] husband 0435 -aner .







  • 7:3 So 0686 -ara then 0686 -ara if 1437 -ean , while [her]

  • husband 0435 -aner liveth 2198 -zao , she be married 1096 -

  • ginomai to another 2087 -heteros man 0435 -aner , she shall be

  • called 5537 -chrematizo an adulteress 3428 -moichalis : but if

  • 1437 -ean her husband 0435 -aner be dead 0599 -apothnesko , she

  • is free 1658 -eleutheros from that law 3551 -nomos ; so that she

  • is no 3361 -me adulteress 3428 -moichalis , though she be

  • married 1096 -ginomai to another 2087 -heteros man 0435 -aner .







  • 7:4 Wherefore 5620 -hoste , my brethren 0080 -adephos , ye also

  • 2532 -kai are become 2289 -thanatoo dead 2289 -thanatoo to the

  • law 3551 -nomos by the body 4983 -soma of Christ 5547 -Christos ;

  • that ye should be married 1096 -ginomai to another 2087 -

  • heteros , [even] to him who is raised 1453 -egeiro from the dead

  • 3498 -nekros , that we should bring 2592 -karpophoreo forth

  • fruit 2592 -karpophoreo unto God 2316 -theos .







  • 7:5 For when 3753 -hote we were in the flesh 4561 -sarx , the

  • motions 3804 -pathema of sins 0266 -hamartia , which 3588 -ho

  • were by the law 3551 -nomos , did work 1754 -energeo in our

  • members 3196 -melos to bring 2592 -karpophoreo forth fruit 2592 -

  • karpophoreo unto death 2288 -thanatos .







  • 7:6 But now 3570 -nuni we are delivered 2673 -katargeo from the

  • law 3551 -nomos , that being dead 0599 -apothnesko wherein 3757 -

  • hou we were held 2722 -katecho ; that we should serve 1398 -

  • douleuo in newness 2538 -kainotes of spirit 4151 -pneuma , and

  • not [in] the oldness 3821 -palaiotes of the letter 1121 -gramma .







  • 7:7 What 5101 -tis shall we say 2046 -ereo then 3767 -oun ?

  • [Is] the law 3551 -nomos sin 0266 -hamartia ? God 1096 -ginomai

  • forbid 1096 -ginomai . Nay 0235 -alla , I had not known 1097 -

  • ginosko sin 0266 -hamartia , but by the law 3551 -nomos : for I

  • had not known 1492 -eido lust 1939 -epithumia , except 1508 -ei

  • me the law 3551 -nomos had said 3004 -lego , Thou shalt not

  • covet 1937 -epithumeo .







  • 7:8 But sin 0266 -hamartia , taking 2983 -lambano occasion 0874

  • -aphorme by the commandment 1785 -entole , wrought 2716 -

  • katergazomai in me all 3956 -pas manner of concupiscence 1939 -

  • epithumia . For without 5565 -choris the law 3551 -nomos sin

  • 0266 -hamartia [was] dead 3498 -nekros .







  • 7:9 For I was alive 2198 -zao without 5565 -choris the law 3551

  • -nomos once 4218 -pote : but when the commandment 1785 -entole

  • came 2064 -erchomai , sin 0266 -hamartia revived 0326 -anazao ,

  • and I died 0599 -apothnesko .







  • 7:10 And the commandment 1785 -entole , which 3588 -ho [was

  • ordained] to life 2222 -zoe , I found 2147 -heurisko [to be]

  • unto death 2288 -thanatos .







  • 7:11 For sin 0266 -hamartia , taking 2983 -lambano occasion

  • 0874 -aphorme by the commandment 1785 -entole , deceived 1818 -

  • exapatao me, and by it slew 0615 -apokteino [me].







  • 7:12 Wherefore 5620 -hoste the law 3551 -nomos [is] holy 0040 -

  • hagios , and the commandment 1785 -entole holy 0040 -hagios ,

  • and just 1342 -dikaios , and good 0018 -agathos .







  • 7:13 Was then 3767 -oun that which is good 0018 -agathos made

  • 1096 -ginomai death 2288 -thanatos unto me? God 1096 -ginomai

  • forbid 1096 -ginomai . But sin 0266 -hamartia , that it might

  • appear 5316 -phaino sin 0266 -hamartia , working 2716 -

  • katergazomai death 2288 -thanatos in me by that which is good

  • 0018 -agathos ; that sin 0266 -hamartia by the commandment 1785 -

  • entole might become 1096 -ginomai exceeding 5236 -huperbole

  • sinful 0268 -hamartolos .







  • 7:14 For we know 1492 -eido that the law 3551 -nomos is

  • spiritual 4152 -pneumatikos : but I am 1510 -eimi carnal 4559 -

  • sarkikos , sold 4097 -piprasko under 5259 -hupo sin 0266 -

  • hamartia .







  • 7:15 For that which 3739 -hos I do 2716 -katergazomai I allow

  • 1097 -ginosko not: for what 3739 -hos I would 2309 -thelo , that

  • do 4238 -prasso I not; but what 3739 -hos I hate 3404 -miseo ,

  • that do 4160 -poieo I.







  • 7:16 If 1487 -ei then 1161 -de I do 4160 -poieo that which 3739

  • -hos I would 2309 -thelo not, I consent 4852 -sumphemi unto the

  • law 3551 -nomos that [it is] good 2570 -kalos .







  • 7:17 Now 3570 -nuni then 1161 -de it is no 3765 -ouketi more

  • 2089 -eti I that do 2716 -katergazomai it, but sin 0266 -

  • hamartia that dwelleth 3611 -oikeo in me.







  • 7:18 For I know 1492 -eido that in me (that is, in my flesh

  • 4561 -sarx ,) dwelleth 3611 -oikeo no 3756 -ou good 0018 -

  • agathos thing: for to will 2309 -thelo is present 3873 with me;

  • but [how] to perform 2716 -katergazomai that which is good 2570 -

  • kalos I find 2147 -heurisko not.







  • 7:19 For the good 0018 -agathos that I would 2309 -thelo I do

  • 4160 -poieo not: but the evil 2556 -kakos which 3739 -hos I

  • would 2309 -thelo not, that I do 4238 -prasso .







  • 7:20 Now 1161 -de if 1487 -ei I do 4160 -poieo that I would

  • 2309 -thelo not, it is no 3765 -ouketi more 2089 -eti I that do

  • 2716 -katergazomai it, but sin 0266 -hamartia that dwelleth 3611

  • -oikeo in me.







  • 7:21 I find 2147 -heurisko then 0686 -ara a law 3551 -nomos ,

  • that, when I would 2309 -thelo do 4160 -poieo good 2570 -kalos ,

  • evil 2556 -kakos is present 3873 with me.







  • 7:22 For I delight 4913 -sunedomai in the law 3551 -nomos of

  • God 2316 -theos after 2596 -kata the inward 2080 -eso man 0444 -

  • anthropos :







  • 7:23 But I see 0991 -blepo another 2087 -heteros law 3551 -

  • nomos in my members 3196 -melos , warring 0497 -antistrateuomai

  • against 0497 -antistrateuomai the law 3551 -nomos of my mind

  • 3563 -nous , and bringing 0163 -aichmalotizo me into captivity

  • 0163 -aichmalotizo to the law 3551 -nomos of sin 0266 -hamartia

  • which 3588 -ho is in my members 3196 -melos .







  • 7:24 O wretched 5005 -talaiporos man 0444 -anthropos that I am!

  • who 5101 -tis shall deliver 4506 -rhoumai me from the body 4983 -

  • soma of this 5127 -toutou death 2288 -thanatos ?







  • 7:25 I thank 2168 -eucharisteo God 2316 -theos through 1223 -

  • dia Jesus 2424 -Iesous Christ 5547 -Christos our Lord 2962 -

  • kurios . So 0686 -ara then 0686 -ara with the mind 3563 -nous I

  • myself serve 1398 -douleuo the law 3551 -nomos of God 2316 -

  • theos ; but with the flesh 4561 -sarx the law 3551 -nomos of sin

  • 0266 -hamartia .
