1. And there came <2064-erchomai-> one <1520-heis-> of the seven

<2033-hepta-> angels <0032-aggelos-> which <3588-ho-> had <2192-echo->

the seven <2033-hepta-> vials <5357-phiale->, and talked <2980-laleo->

with me, saying <3004-lego-> unto me, Come <1204-deuro-> hither

<1204-deuro->; I will shew <1166-deiknuo-> unto thee the judgment

<2917-krima-> of the great <3173-megas-> whore <4204-porne-> that

sitteth <2521-kathemai-> upon many <4183-polus-> waters <5204-hudor->:

2 With whom <3739-hos-> the kings <0935-basileus-> of the earth

<1093-ge-> have committed <4203-porneuo-> fornication <4203-porneuo->,

and the inhabitants <2730-katoikeo-> of the earth <1093-ge-> have been

made <3182-methusko-> drunk <3182-methusko-> with the wine

<3631-oinos-> of her fornication <4202-porneia->.

3 So <2532-kai-> he carried <0667-appohero-> me away <0667-appohero->

in the spirit <4151-pneuma-> into <1519-eis-> the wilderness

<2048-eremos->: and I saw <1492-eido-> a woman <1135-gune-> sit

<2521-kathemai-> upon a scarlet <2847-kokkinos-> coloured beast

<2342-therion->, full <1073-gemo-> of names <3686-onoma-> of blasphemy

4 And the woman <1135-gune-> was arrayed <4016-periballo-> in purple

stones <3037-lithos-> and pearls <3135-margarites->, having

and filthiness <0168-akathartes-> of her fornication <4202-porneia->:

5 And upon her forehead <3359-metopon-> [was] a name <3686-onoma->

written <1125-grapho->, MYSTERY <3466-musterion->, BABYLON

<0897-Babulon-> THE GREAT <3173-megas->, THE MOTHER <3384-meter-> OF

HARLOTS <4204-porne-> AND ABOMINATIONS <0946-bdelugma-> OF THE EARTH

6 And I saw <1492-eido-> the woman <1135-gune-> drunken

<3184-methuo-> with the blood <0129-haima-> of the saints

<0040-hagios->, and with the blood <0129-haima-> of the martyrs

<3144-martus-> of Jesus <2424-Iesous->: and when I saw <1492-eido->

her, I wondered <1839-existemi-> with great <3173-megas-> admiration

7. And the angel <0032-aggelos-> said <2036-epo-> unto me, Wherefore

<1302-diati-> didst thou marvel <2296-thaumazo->? I will tell

<2046-ereo-> thee the mystery <3466-musterion-> of the woman

<1135-gune->, and of the beast <2342-therion-> that carrieth

<0941-bastazo-> her, which <3588-ho-> hath <2192-echo-> the seven

<2033-hepta-> heads <2776-kephale-> and ten <1176-deka-> horns

<2768-keras->.

8 The beast <2342-therion-> that thou sawest <1492-eido-> was, and is

not; and shall ascend <0305-anabaino-> out of the bottomless

<0012-abussos-> pit, and go <5217-hupago-> into <1519-eis-> perdition

<0684-apoleia->: and they that dwell <2730-katoikeo-> on <1909-epi->

the earth <1093-ge-> shall wonder <2296-thaumazo->, whose <3739-hos->

names <3686-onoma-> were not written <1125-grapho-> in the book

<0976-biblos-> of life <2222-zoe-> from the foundation

<2602-katabole-> of the world <2889-kosmos->, when they behold

<0991-blepo-> the beast <2342-therion-> that was, and is not, and yet

<2539-kaiper-> is.

9 And here <5602-hode-> [is] the mind <3563-nous-> which <3588-ho->

hath <2192-echo-> wisdom <4678-sophia->. The seven <2033-hepta-> heads

<2776-kephale-> are seven <2033-hepta-> mountains <3735-oros->, on

<1909-epi-> which <0846-autos-> the woman <1135-gune-> sitteth

<2521-kathemai->.

10 And there are seven <2033-hepta-> kings <0935-basileus->: five

<4002-pente-> are fallen <4098-pipto->, and one <1520-heis-> is, [and]

the other <0243-allos-> is not yet <3768-oupo-> come <2064-erchomai->;

and when <3752-hotan-> he cometh <2064-erchomai->, he must <1163-dei->

continue <3306-meno-> a short <3641-oligos-> space.

11 And the beast <2342-therion-> that was, and is not, even

<2532-kai-> he is the eighth <3590-ogdoos->, and is of the seven

<2033-hepta->, and goeth <5217-hupago-> into <1519-eis-> perdition

<0684-apoleia->.

12 And the ten <1176-deka-> horns <2768-keras-> which <3739-hos->

thou sawest <1492-eido-> are ten <1176-deka-> kings <0935-basileus->,

which <3748-hostis-> have received <2983-lambano-> no <3768-oupo->

kingdom <0932-basileia-> as yet <3768-oupo->; but receive

<2983-lambano-> power <1849-exousia-> as kings <0935-basileus-> one

<3391-mia-> hour <5610-hora-> with the beast <2342-therion->.

13 These <3778-houtos-> have <2192-echo-> one <3391-mia-> mind

<1106-gnome->, and shall give <1239-diadidomai-> their power

<1411-dunamis-> and strength <1849-exousia-> unto the beast

<2342-therion->.

14. These <3778-houtos-> shall make <4170-polemeo-> war

<4170-polemeo-> with the Lamb <0721-arnion->, and the Lamb

<0721-arnion-> shall overcome <3528-nikao-> them: for he is Lord

<2962-kurios-> of lords <2962-kurios->, and King <0935-basileus-> of

kings <0935-basileus->: and they that are with him [are] called

<2822-kletos->, and chosen <1588-eklektos->, and faithful

<4103-pistos->.

15 And he saith <3004-lego-> unto me, The waters <5204-hudor-> which

<3739-hos-> thou sawest <1492-eido->, where <3757-hou-> the whore

<4204-porne-> sitteth <2521-kathemai->, are peoples <2992-laos->, and

multitudes <3793-ochlos->, and nations <1484-ethnos->, and tongues

<1100-glossa->.

16 And the ten <1176-deka-> horns <2768-keras-> which <3739-hos->

thou sawest <1492-eido-> upon the beast <2342-therion->, these

<3778-houtos-> shall hate <3404-miseo-> the whore <4204-porne->, and

shall make <4160-poieo-> her desolate <2049-eremoo-> and naked

<1131-gumnos->, and shall eat <5315-phago-> her flesh <4561-sarx->,

and burn <2618-katakaio-> her with fire <4442-pur->.

17 For God <2316-theos-> hath put <1325-didomi-> in their hearts

<2588-kardia-> to fulfil <4160-poieo-> his will <1106-gnome->, and to

agree <4160-poieo->, and give <1325-didomi-> their kingdom

<0932-basileia-> unto the beast <2342-therion->, until <0891-achri->

the words <4487-rhema-> of God <2316-theos-> shall be fulfilled

<5055-teleo->.

18 And the woman <1135-gune-> which <3739-hos-> thou sawest

<1492-eido-> is that great <3173-megas-> city <4172-polis->, which

<3588-ho-> reigneth <0932-basileia-> over <1909-epi-> the kings

<0935-basileus-> of the earth <1093-ge->.
