  • ==== <DAN1> Daniel 1

  • 1:1. In the third <G 7969> year <G 8141> of the reign <G 4438>

  • of Jehoiakim <G 3079> king <G 4428> of Judah <G 3063> came <G

  • 0935> Nebuchadnezzar <G 5019> king <G 4428> of Babylon <G 0894>

  • unto Jerusalem <G 3389>, and besieged <G 6696> it.

  • 1:2 And the Lord <G 0136> gave <G 5414> Jehoiakim <G 3079> king

  • <G 4428> of Judah <G 3063> into his hand <G 3027>, with part <G

  • 7117> of the vessels <G 3627> of the house <G 1004> of God <G

  • 0430>: which he carried <G 0935> into the land <G 0776> of

  • Shinar <G 8152> to the house <G 1004> of his god <G 0430>; and

  • he brought <G 0935> the vessels <G 3627> into the treasure <G

  • 0214> house <G 1004> of his god <G 0430>.

  • 1:3 And the king <G 4428> spake <G 0559> unto Ashpenaz <G 0828>

  • the master <G 7227> of his eunuchs <G 5631>, that he should

  • bring <G 0935> [certain] of the children <G 1121> of Israel <G

  • 3478>, and of the king's <G 4410> seed <G 2233>, and of the

  • princes <G 6579>;

  • 1:4 Children <G 3206> in whom [was] no <G 0369> blemish <G 3971>,

  • but well <G 2896> favoured <G 4758>, and skilful <G 7919> in

  • all <G 3605> wisdom <G 2451>, and cunning <G 3045> in knowledge

  • <G 1847>, and understanding <G 0995> science <G 4093>, and such

  • as [had] ability <G 3581> in them to stand <G 5975> in the

  • king's <G 4428> palace <G 1964>, and whom they might teach <G

  • 3925> the learning <G 5612> and the tongue <G 3956> of the

  • Chaldeans <G 3779>.

  • 1:5 And the king <G 4428> appointed <G 4487> them a daily <G

  • 3117> provision <G 1697> of the king's <G 4428> meat <G 6598>,

  • and of the wine <G 3196> which he drank <G 4960>: so nourishing

  • <G 1431> them three <G 7969> years <G 8141>, that at the end <G

  • 7117> thereof they might stand <G 5975> before <G 6440> the king

  • <G 4428>.

  • 1:6 Now among these <G 1992> were of the children <G 1121> of

  • Judah <G 3063>, Daniel <G 1840>, Hananiah <G 2608>, Mishael <G

  • 4332>, and Azariah <G 5838>:

  • 1:7 Unto whom <G 1992> the prince <G 8269> of the eunuchs <G

  • 5631> gave <G 7760> names <G 8034>: for he gave <G 7760> unto

  • Daniel <G 1840> [the name <G 8034>] of Belteshazzar <G 1095>;

  • and to Hananiah <G 2608>, of Shadrach <G 7714>; and to Mishael

  • <G 4332>, of Meshach <G 4335>; and to Azariah <G 5838>, of

  • Abednego <G 5664>.

  • 1:8. But Daniel <G 1840> purposed <G 7760> in his heart <G 3820>

  • that he would not defile <G 1351> himself with the portion <G

  • 6598> of the king's <G 4428> meat <G 6598>, nor with the wine <G

  • 3196> which he drank <G 4960>: therefore he requested <G 1245>

  • of the prince <G 8269> of the eunuchs <G 5631> that he might not

  • defile <G 1351> himself.

  • 1:9 Now God <G 0430> had brought <G 5414> Daniel <G 1840> into

  • favour <G 2617> and tender love with the prince <G 8269> of the

  • eunuchs <G 5631>.

  • 1:10 And the prince <G 8269> of the eunuchs <G 5631> said <G

  • 0559> unto Daniel <G 1840>, I fear <G 3373> my lord <G 0113> the

  • king <G 4428>, who <G 0834> hath appointed <G 4487> your meat <G

  • 3978> and your drink <G 4960>: for why <G 4100> should he see <G

  • 7200> your faces <G 6440> worse <G 2196> liking than <G 4480>

  • the children <G 3206> which <G 0834> [are] of your sort <G

  • 1524>? then shall ye make [me] endanger <G 2325> my head <G

  • 7218> to the king <G 4428>.

  • 1:11 Then said <G 0559> Daniel <G 1840> to Melzar <G 4453>, whom

  • <G 0834> the prince <G 8269> of the eunuchs <G 5631> had set <G

  • 4487> over <G 5921> Daniel <G 1840>, Hananiah <G 2608>, Mishael

  • <G 4332>, and Azariah <G 5838>,

  • 1:12 Prove <G 5254> thy servants <G 5650>, I beseech <G 4994>

  • thee, ten <G 6235> days <G 3117>; and let them give <G 5414> us

  • pulse <G 2235> to eat <G 0398>, and water <G 4325> to drink <G

  • 8354>.

  • 1:13 Then let our countenances <G 4758> be looked <G 7200> upon

  • before <G 6440> thee, and the countenance <G 4758> of the

  • children <G 3206> that eat <G 0398> of the portion <G 6598> of

  • the king's <G 4428> meat <G 6598>: and as thou seest <G 7200>,

  • deal <G 6213> with thy servants <G 5650>.

  • 1:14 So he consented <G 8085> to them in this <G 2088> matter <G

  • 1697>, and proved <G 5254> them ten <G 6235> days <G 3117>.

  • 1:15 And at the end <G 7117> of ten <G 6235> days <G 3117> their

  • countenances <G 4758> appeared <G 7200> fairer <G 2896> and

  • fatter <G 1277> in flesh <G 1320> than <G 4480> all <G 3605> the

  • children <G 3206> which did eat <G 0398> the portion <G 6598> of

  • the king's <G 4428> meat <G 6598>.

  • 1:16 Thus Melzar <G 4453> took <G 5375> away the portion <G

  • 6598> of their meat <G 6598>, and the wine <G 3196> that they

  • should drink <G 4960>; and gave <G 5414> them pulse <G 2235>.

  • 1:17. As for these <G 0428> four <G 0702> children <G 3206>, God

  • <G 0430> gave <G 5414> them knowledge <G 4093> and skill <G

  • 7919> in all <G 3605> learning <G 5612> and wisdom <G 2451>: and

  • Daniel <G 1840> had understanding <G 0995> in all <G 3605>

  • visions <G 2377> and dreams <G 2472>.

  • 1:18 Now at the end <G 7117> of the days <G 3117> that the king

  • <G 4428> had said <G 0559> he should bring <G 0935> them in,

  • then the prince <G 8269> of the eunuchs <G 5631> brought <G

  • 0935> them in before <G 6440> Nebuchadnezzar <G 5019>.

  • 1:19 And the king <G 4428> communed <G 1696> with them; and

  • among them all <G 3605> was found <G 4672> none <G 3808> like

  • Daniel <G 1840>, Hananiah <G 2608>, Mishael <G 4332>, and

  • Azariah <G 5838>: therefore stood <G 5975> they before <G 6440>

  • the king <G 4428>.

  • 1:20 And in all <G 3605> matters <G 1697> of wisdom <G 2451>

  • [and] understanding <G 0998>, that the king <G 4428> enquired <G

  • 1245> of them, he found <G 4672> them ten <G 6235> times better

  • <G 3027> than <G 5921> all <G 3605> the magicians <G 2748> [and]

  • astrologers <G 0825> that [were] in all <G 3605> his realm <G

  • 4438>.

  • 1:21 And Daniel <G 1840> continued <G 1961> [even] unto the

  • first <G 0259> year <G 8141> of king <G 4428> Cyrus <G 3566>.

  • ==== <DAN2> Daniel 2

  • 2:1. And in the second <G 8147> year <G 8141> of the reign <G

  • 4438> of Nebuchadnezzar <G 5019> Nebuchadnezzar <G 5019> dreamed

  • <G 2492> dreams <G 2472>, wherewith his spirit <G 7307> was

  • troubled <G 6470>, and his sleep <G 8142> brake <G 1961> from

  • him.

  • 2:2 Then the king <G 4428> commanded <G 0559> to call <G 7121>

  • the magicians <G 2748>, and the astrologers <G 0825>, and the

  • sorcerers <G 3784>, and the Chaldeans <G 3779>, for to shew <G

  • 5046> the king <G 4428> his dreams <G 2472>. So they came <G

  • 0935> and stood <G 5975> before <G 6440> the king <G 4428>.

  • 2:3 And the king <G 4428> said <G 0559> unto them, I have

  • dreamed <G 2492> a dream <G 2472>, and my spirit <G 7307> was

  • troubled <G 6470> to know <G 3045> the dream <G 2472>.

  • 2:4 Then spake <G 1696> the Chaldeans <G 3779> to the king <G

  • 4428> in Syriack <G 0762>, O king <G 4430>, live <G 2418> for

  • ever <G 5957>: tell <G 0560> thy servants <G 5649> the dream <G

  • 2493>, and we will shew <G 2324> the interpretation <G 6591>.

  • 2:5 The king <G 4430> answered <G 6032> and said <G 0560> to the

  • Chaldeans <G 3779>, The thing <G 4406> is gone <G 0230> from me:

  • if <G 2006> ye will not make known <G 3046> unto me the dream <G

  • 2493>, with the interpretation <G 6591> thereof, ye shall be cut

  • <G 5648> in pieces <G 1917>, and your houses <G 1005> shall be

  • made <G 7761> a dunghill <G 5122>.

  • 2:6 But if <G 2006> ye shew <G 2324> the dream <G 2493>, and the

  • interpretation <G 6591> thereof, ye shall receive <G 6902> of me

  • gifts <G 4978> and rewards <G 5023> and great <G 7690> honour <G

  • 3367>: therefore <G 2006> shew <G 2324> me the dream <G 2493>,

  • and the interpretation <G 6591> thereof.

  • 2:7 They answered <G 6032> again <G 8579> and said <G 0560>, Let

  • the king <G 4430> tell <G 0560> his servants <G 5649> the dream

  • <G 2493>, and we will shew <G 2324> the interpretation <G 6591>

  • of it.

  • 2:8 The king <G 4430> answered <G 6032> and said <G 0560>, I

  • know <G 3046> of certainty <G 3330> that ye would gain <G 2084>

  • the time <G 5732>, because ye see <G 2370> the thing <G 4406> is

  • gone <G 0230> from me.

  • 2:9 But if <G 2006> ye will not make known <G 3046> unto me the

  • dream <G 2493>, [there is but] one <G 2298> decree <G 1882> for

  • you: for ye have prepared <G 2164> lying <G 3538> and corrupt <G

  • 7844> words <G 4406> to speak <G 0560> before <G 6925> me, till

  • <G 5704> the time <G 5732> be changed <G 8133>: therefore <G

  • 2006> tell <G 0560> me the dream <G 2493>, and I shall know <G

  • 3046> that ye can shew <G 2324> me the interpretation <G 6591>

  • thereof.

  • 2:10 The Chaldeans <G 3779> answered <G 6032> before <G 6925>

  • the king <G 4430>, and said <G 0560>, There is not a man <G

  • 0606> upon the earth <G 3007> that can <G 3202> shew <G 2324>

  • the king's <G 4430> matter <G 4406>: therefore [there is] no

  • king <G 4430>, lord <G 7229>, nor ruler <G 7990>, [that] asked

  • <G 7593> such <G 1836> things at any <G 3606> magician <G 2749>,

  • or astrologer <G 0826>, or Chaldean <G 3777>.

  • 2:11 And [it is] a rare <G 3358> thing <G 4406> that the king <G

  • 4430> requireth <G 7593>, and there is none <G 3809> other <G

  • 0321> that can shew <G 2324> it before <G 6925> the king <G

  • 4430>, except <G 3861> the gods <G 0426>, whose <G 1768>

  • dwelling <G 4070> is not with flesh <G 1321>.

  • 2:12 For this <G 1836> cause the king <G 4430> was angry <G

  • 1149> and very <G 7690> furious <G 7108>, and commanded <G 0560>

  • to destroy <G 7> all <G 3606> the wise <G 2445> [men] of Babylon

  • <G 0895>.

  • 2:13 And the decree <G 1882> went <G 5312> forth <G 5312> that

  • the wise <G 2445> [men] should be slain <G 6992>; and they

  • sought <G 1158> Daniel <G 1841> and his fellows <G 2269> to be

  • slain <G 6992>.

  • 2:14. Then <G 0116> Daniel <G 1841> answered <G 8421> with

  • counsel <G 5843> and wisdom <G 2942> to Arioch <G 0746> the

  • captain <G 7229> of the king's <G 4430> guard <G 2877>, which <G

  • 1768> was gone <G 5312> forth <G 5312> to slay <G 6992> the wise

  • <G 2445> [men] of Babylon <G 0895>:

  • 2:15 He answered <G 6032> and said <G 0560> to Arioch <G 0746>

  • the king's <G 4430> captain <G 7990>, Why [is] the decree <G

  • 1882> [so] hasty <G 2685> from the king <G 4430>? Then <G 0116>

  • Arioch <G 0746> made the thing <G 4406> known <G 3046> to Daniel

  • <G 1841>.

  • 2:16 Then Daniel <G 1841> went <G 5954> in, and desired <G 1156>

  • of the king <G 4430> that he would give <G 5415> him time <G

  • 2166>, and that he would shew <G 2324> the king <G 4430> the

  • interpretation <G 6591>.

  • 2:17 Then <G 0116> Daniel <G 1841> went <G 0236> to his house <G

  • 1005>, and made the thing <G 4406> known <G 3046> to Hananiah <G

  • 2608>, Mishael <G 4332>, and Azariah <G 5839>, his companions <G

  • 2269>:

  • 2:18 That they would desire <G 1156> mercies <G 7359> of the God

  • <G 0426> of heaven <G 8065> concerning <G 5922> this <G 1836>

  • secret <G 7328>; that Daniel <G 1841> and his fellows <G 2269>

  • should not perish <G 7> with the rest <G 7606> of the wise <G

  • 2445> [men] of Babylon <G 0895>.

  • 2:19 Then <G 0116> was the secret <G 7328> revealed <G 1541>

  • unto Daniel <G 1841> in a night <G 3916> vision <G 2376>. Then

  • <G 0116> Daniel <G 1841> blessed <G 1289> the God <G 0426> of

  • heaven <G 8065>.

  • 2:20 Daniel <G 1841> answered <G 6032> and said <G 0560>,

  • Blessed <G 1289> be the name <G 8036> of God <G 0426> for ever

  • <G 5957> and ever <G 5957>: for wisdom <G 2452> and might <G

  • 1370> are his:

  • 2:21 And he changeth <G 8133> the times <G 5732> and the seasons

  • <G 2166>: he removeth <G 5709> kings <G 4430>, and setteth <G

  • 6966> up kings <G 4430>: he giveth <G 3052> wisdom <G 2452> unto

  • the wise <G 2445>, and knowledge <G 0998> to them that know <G

  • 3046> understanding <G 0999>:

  • 2:22 He revealeth <G 1541> the deep <G 5994> and secret <G 5642>

  • things: he knoweth <G 3046> what <G 4101> [is] in the darkness

  • <G 2816>, and the light <G 5094> dwelleth <G 8271> with him.

  • 2:23 I thank <G 3029> thee, and praise <G 7624> thee, O thou God

  • <G 0426> of my fathers <G 2>, who <G 1768> hast given <G 3052>

  • me wisdom <G 2452> and might <G 1370>, and hast made known <G

  • 3046> unto me now <G 3705> what <G 1768> we desired <G 1156> of

  • thee: for thou hast [now <G 3705>] made known <G 3046> unto us

  • the king's <G 4430> matter <G 4406>.

  • 2:24. Therefore Daniel <G 1841> went <G 5954> in unto Arioch <G

  • 0746>, whom <G 1768> the king <G 4430> had ordained <G 4483> to

  • destroy <G 7> the wise <G 2445> [men] of Babylon <G 0895>: he

  • went <G 0236> and said <G 0560> thus <G 3652> unto him; Destroy

  • <G 7> not the wise <G 2445> [men] of Babylon <G 0895>: bring <G

  • 5924> me in before <G 6925> the king <G 4430>, and I will shew

  • <G 2324> unto the king <G 4430> the interpretation <G 6591>.

  • 2:25 Then <G 0116> Arioch <G 0746> brought <G 5954> in Daniel <G

  • 1841> before <G 6925> the king <G 4430> in haste <G 0927>, and

  • said <G 0560> thus <G 3652> unto him, I have found <G 4672> a

  • man <G 1400> of the captives of Judah <G 3061>, that will make

  • known <G 3046> unto the king <G 4430> the interpretation <G

  • 6591>.

  • 2:26 The king <G 4430> answered <G 6032> and said <G 0560> to

  • Daniel <G 1841>, whose <G 1768> name <G 8036> [was] Belteshazzar

  • <G 1096>, Art <G 0383> thou able <G 3546> to make known <G 3046>

  • unto me the dream <G 2493> which <G 1768> I have seen <G 2370>,

  • and the interpretation <G 6591> thereof?

  • 2:27 Daniel <G 1841> answered <G 6032> in the presence <G 6925>

  • of the king <G 4430>, and said <G 0560>, The secret <G 7328>

  • which <G 1768> the king <G 4430> hath demanded <G 7593> cannot

  • the wise <G 2445> [men], the astrologers <G 0826>, the magicians

  • <G 2749>, the soothsayers <G 1505>, shew <G 2324> unto the king

  • <G 4430>;

  • 2:28 But there is a God <G 0426> in heaven <G 8065> that

  • revealeth <G 1541> secrets <G 7328>, and maketh known <G 3046>

  • to the king <G 4430> Nebuchadnezzar <G 5020> what <G 4101> shall

  • be in the latter <G 0320> days <G 3118>. Thy dream <G 2493>, and

  • the visions <G 2376> of thy head <G 7217> upon thy bed <G 4903>,

  • are these <G 1836>;

  • 2:29 As for thee, O king <G 4430>, thy thoughts <G 7476> came <G

  • 5559> [into thy mind] upon thy bed <G 4903>, what <G 4101>

  • should come <G 1934> to pass hereafter: and he that revealeth <G

  • 1541> secrets <G 7328> maketh known <G 3046> to thee what <G

  • 4101> shall come <G 1934> to pass.

  • 2:30 But as for me, this <G 1836> secret <G 7328> is not

  • revealed <G 1541> to me for [any] wisdom <G 2452> that I have <G

  • 0383> more <G 4481> than <G 4481> any <G 3606> living <G 2417>,

  • but for [their] sakes <G 1701> that shall make known <G 3046>

  • the interpretation <G 6591> to the king <G 4430>, and that thou

  • mightest know <G 3046> the thoughts <G 7476> of thy heart <G

  • 3825>.

  • 2:31. Thou, O king <G 4430>, sawest <G 2370>, and behold <G

  • 0431> a great <G 7690> image <G 6755>. This <G 1797> great <G

  • 7229> image <G 6755>, whose brightness <G 2122> [was] excellent

  • <G 3493>, stood <G 6966> before <G 6903> thee; and the form <G

  • 7299> thereof [was] terrible <G 1763>.

  • 2:32 This <G 1931> image's <G 6755> head <G 7217> [was] of fine

  • <G 2869> gold <G 1722>, his breast <G 2306> and his arms <G

  • 1672> of silver <G 3702>, his belly <G 4577> and his thighs <G

  • 3410> of brass <G 5174>,

  • 2:33 His legs <G 8243> of iron <G 6523>, his feet <G 7271> part

  • <G 4481> of iron <G 6523> and part <G 4481> of clay <G 2635>.

  • 2:34 Thou sawest <G 2370> till <G 5704> that a stone <G 69> was

  • cut <G 1505> out without hands <G 3028>, which smote <G 4223>

  • the image <G 6755> upon his feet <G 7271> [that were] of iron <G

  • 6523> and clay <G 2635>, and brake <G 1855> them to pieces.

  • 2:35 Then <G 0116> was the iron <G 6523>, the clay <G 2635>, the

  • brass <G 5174>, the silver <G 3702>, and the gold <G 1722>,

  • broken <G 1854> to pieces together <G 2298>, and became <G 1934>

  • like the chaff <G 5784> of the summer <G 7007> threshingfloors

  • <G 0147>; and the wind <G 7308> carried <G 5376> them away, that

  • no place <G 0870> was found <G 7912> for them: and the stone <G

  • 69> that smote <G 4223> the image <G 6755> became <G 1934> a

  • great <G 7229> mountain <G 2906>, and filled <G 4391> the whole

  • <G 3606> earth <G 0772>.

  • 2:36 This <G 1836> [is] the dream <G 2493>; and we will tell <G

  • 0560> the interpretation <G 6591> thereof before <G 6925> the

  • king <G 4430>.

  • 2:37 Thou, O king <G 4430>, [art] a king <G 4430> of kings <G

  • 4430>: for the God <G 0426> of heaven <G 8065> hath given <G

  • 3052> thee a kingdom <G 4437>, power <G 2632>, and strength <G

  • 8632>, and glory <G 3367>.

  • 2:38 And wheresoever the children <G 1123> of men <G 0606> dwell

  • <G 1753>, the beasts <G 2423> of the field <G 1251> and the

  • fowls <G 5776> of the heaven <G 8065> hath he given <G 3052>

  • into thine hand <G 3028>, and hath made thee ruler <G 7981> over

  • them all <G 3606>. Thou [art] this <G 1931> head <G 7217> of

  • gold <G 1722>.

  • 2:39 And after <G 0870> thee shall arise <G 6965> another <G

  • 0317> kingdom <G 4437> inferior <G 0772> to thee, and another <G

  • 0317> third <G 8523> kingdom <G 4437> of brass <G 5174>, which

  • <G 1768> shall bear <G 7981> rule <G 7981> over all <G 3606> the

  • earth <G 0772>.

  • 2:40 And the fourth <G 7244> kingdom <G 4437> shall be strong <G

  • 8624> as iron <G 6523>: forasmuch as iron <G 6523> breaketh <G

  • 1855> in pieces and subdueth <G 2827> all <G 3606> [things]: and

  • as iron <G 6523> that breaketh <G 7940> all <G 3606> these <G

  • 0459>, shall it break <G 1854> in pieces and bruise <G 7490>.

  • 2:41 And whereas <G 1768> thou sawest <G 2370> the feet <G 7271>

  • and toes <G 0677>, part <G 4481> of potters <G 6353>' clay <G

  • 2635>, and part <G 4481> of iron <G 6523>, the kingdom <G 4437>

  • shall be divided <G 6386>; but there shall be in it of the

  • strength <G 5326> of the iron <G 6523>, forasmuch as thou sawest

  • <G 2370> the iron <G 6523> mixed <G 6151> with miry <G 2917>

  • clay <G 2635>.

  • 2:42 And [as] the toes <G 0677> of the feet <G 7271> [were] part

  • <G 4481> of iron <G 6523>, and part <G 4481> of clay <G 2635>,

  • [so] the kingdom <G 4437> shall be partly <G 7118> strong <G

  • 8624>, and partly <G 7118> broken <G 8406>.

  • 2:43 And whereas <G 1768> thou sawest <G 2370> iron <G 6523>

  • mixed <G 6151> with miry <G 2917> clay <G 2635>, they shall

  • mingle <G 6151> themselves with the seed <G 2234> of men <G

  • 0606>: but they shall not cleave <G 1693> one <G 1836> to

  • another <G 1836>, even <G 1887> as iron <G 6523> is not mixed <G

  • 6151> with clay <G 2635>.

  • 2:44 And in the days <G 3118> of these <G 0581> kings <G 4430>

  • shall the God <G 0426> of heaven <G 8065> set <G 6966> up a

  • kingdom <G 4437>, which <G 1768> shall never be destroyed <G

  • 2255>: and the kingdom <G 4437> shall not be left <G 7662> to

  • other <G 0321> people <G 5972>, [but] it shall break <G 1854> in

  • pieces and consume <G 5487> all <G 3606> these <G 0459> kingdoms

  • <G 4437>, and it shall stand <G 6966> for ever <G 5957>.

  • 2:45 Forasmuch as thou sawest <G 2370> that the stone <G 69> was

  • cut <G 1505> out of the mountain <G 2906> without hands <G 3028>,

  • and that it brake <G 1855> in pieces the iron <G 6523>, the

  • brass <G 5174>, the clay <G 2635>, the silver <G 3702>, and the

  • gold <G 1722>; the great <G 7229> God <G 0426> hath made known

  • <G 3046> to the king <G 4430> what <G 4101> shall come <G 1934>

  • to pass hereafter: and the dream <G 2493> [is] certain <G 3330>,

  • and the interpretation <G 6591> thereof sure <G 0546>.

  • 2:46. Then <G 0116> the king <G 4430> Nebuchadnezzar <G 5020>

  • fell <G 5308> upon his face <G 0600>, and worshipped <G 5457>

  • Daniel <G 1841>, and commanded <G 0560> that they should offer

  • <G 5260> an oblation <G 8641> and sweet <G 5208> odours <G 5208>

  • unto him.

  • 2:47 The king <G 4430> answered <G 6032> unto Daniel <G 1841>,

  • and said <G 0560>, Of a truth <G 7187> [it is], that your God <G

  • 0426> [is] a God <G 0426> of gods <G 0426>, and a Lord <G 4756>

  • of kings <G 4430>, and a revealer <G 1541> of secrets <G 7328>,

  • seeing <G 1768> thou couldest <G 3202> reveal <G 1541> this <G

  • 1836> secret <G 7328>.

  • 2:48 Then <G 0116> the king <G 4430> made <G 7236> Daniel <G

  • 1841> a great <G 7236> man, and gave <G 3052> him many <G 7690>

  • great <G 7260> gifts <G 4978>, and made him ruler <G 7981> over

  • <G 5922> the whole <G 3606> province <G 4083> of Babylon <G

  • 0895>, and chief <G 7229> of the governors <G 5461> over <G

  • 5922> all <G 3606> the wise <G 2445> [men] of Babylon <G 0895>.

  • 2:49 Then Daniel <G 1841> requested <G 1156> of the king <G

  • 4430>, and he set <G 4483> Shadrach <G 7715>, Meshach <G 4336>,

  • and Abednego <G 5665>, over <G 5922> the affairs <G 5673> of the

  • province <G 4083> of Babylon <G 0895>: but Daniel <G 1841> [sat]

  • in the gate <G 8651> of the king <G 4430>.

  • ==== <DAN3> Daniel 3

  • 3:1. Nebuchadnezzar <G 5020> the king <G 4430> made <G 5648> an

  • image <G 6755> of gold <G 1722>, whose <G 1768> height <G 7314>

  • [was] threescore <G 8361> cubits <G 0521>, [and] the breadth <G

  • 6613> thereof six <G 8353> cubits <G 0521>: he set <G 6966> it

  • up in the plain <G 1236> of Dura <G 1757>, in the province <G

  • 4083> of Babylon <G 0895>.

  • 3:2 Then Nebuchadnezzar <G 5020> the king <G 4430> sent <G 7972>

  • to gather <G 3673> together the princes <G 0324>, the governors

  • <G 5461>, and the captains <G 6347>, the judges <G 0148>, the

  • treasurers <G 1411>, the counsellors <G 1884>, the sheriffs <G

  • 8614>, and all <G 3606> the rulers <G 7984> of the provinces <G

  • 4082>, to come <G 0858> to the dedication <G 2597> of the image

  • <G 6755> which <G 1768> Nebuchadnezzar <G 5020> the king <G

  • 4430> had set <G 6966> up.

  • 3:3 Then <G 0116> the princes <G 0324>, the governors <G 5461>,

  • and captains <G 6347>, the judges <G 0148>, the treasurers <G

  • 1411>, the counsellors <G 1884>, the sheriffs <G 8614>, and all

  • <G 3606> the rulers <G 7984> of the provinces <G 4082>, were

  • gathered <G 3673> together unto the dedication <G 2597> of the

  • image <G 6755> that Nebuchadnezzar <G 5020> the king <G 4430>

  • had set <G 6966> up; and they stood <G 6966> before <G 6903> the

  • image <G 6755> that Nebuchadnezzar <G 5020> had set <G 6966> up.

  • 3:4 Then an herald <G 3744> cried <G 7123> aloud <G 2429>, To

  • you it is commanded <G 0560>, O people <G 5972>, nations <G

  • 0524>, and languages <G 3961>,

  • 3:5 [That] at what <G 1768> time <G 5732> ye hear <G 8086> the

  • sound <G 7032> of the cornet <G 7162>, flute <G 4953>, harp <G

  • 7030>, sackbut <G 5443>, psaltery <G 6460>, dulcimer <G 5481>,

  • and all <G 3606> kinds <G 2177> of musick <G 2170>, ye fall <G

  • 5308> down and worship <G 5457> the golden <G 1722> image <G

  • 6755> that Nebuchadnezzar <G 5020> the king <G 4430> hath set <G

  • 6966> up:

  • 3:6 And whoso falleth <G 5308> not down and worshippeth <G 5457>

  • shall the same hour <G 8160> be cast <G 7412> into the midst <G

  • 1459> of a burning <G 3345> fiery <G 5135> furnace <G 0861>.

  • 3:7 Therefore at that time <G 2166>, when <G 1768> all <G 3606>

  • the people <G 5972> heard <G 8086> the sound <G 7032> of the

  • cornet <G 7162>, flute <G 4953>, harp <G 7030>, sackbut <G 5443>,

  • psaltery <G 6460>, and all <G 3606> kinds <G 2177> of musick <G

  • 2170>, all <G 3606> the people <G 5972>, the nations <G 0524>,

  • and the languages <G 3961>, fell <G 5308> down [and] worshipped

  • <G 5457> the golden <G 1722> image <G 6755> that Nebuchadnezzar

  • <G 5020> the king <G 4430> had set <G 6966> up.

  • 3:8. Wherefore at that time <G 2166> certain <G 1400> Chaldeans

  • <G 3779> came <G 7127> near <G 7127>, and accused <G 7170> the

  • Jews <G 3064>.

  • 3:9 They spake <G 6032> and said <G 0560> to the king <G 4430>

  • Nebuchadnezzar <G 5020>, O king <G 4430>, live <G 2418> for ever

  • <G 5957>.

  • 3:10 Thou, O king <G 4430>, hast made <G 7761> a decree <G 2942>,

  • that every <G 3606> man <G 0606> that shall hear <G 8086> the

  • sound <G 7032> of the cornet <G 7162>, flute <G 4953>, harp <G

  • 7030>, sackbut <G 5443>, psaltery <G 6460>, and dulcimer <G

  • 5481>, and all <G 3606> kinds <G 2177> of musick <G 2170>, shall

  • fall <G 5308> down and worship <G 5457> the golden <G 1722>

  • image <G 6755>:

  • 3:11 And whoso falleth <G 5308> not down and worshippeth <G

  • 5457>, [that] he should be cast <G 7412> into the midst <G 1459>

  • of a burning <G 3345> fiery <G 5135> furnace <G 0861>.

  • 3:12 There are certain <G 1400> Jews <G 3064> whom <G 3487> thou

  • hast set <G 4483> over <G 5921> the affairs <G 5673> of the

  • province <G 4083> of Babylon <G 0895>, Shadrach <G 7715>,

  • Meshach <G 4336>, and Abednego <G 5665>; these <G 0479> men <G

  • 1400>, O king <G 4430>, have not regarded thee: they serve <G

  • 6399> not thy gods <G 0426>, nor <G 3809> worship <G 5457> the

  • golden <G 1722> image <G 6755> which <G 1768> thou hast set <G

  • 6966> up.

  • 3:13 Then <G 0116> Nebuchadnezzar <G 5020> in [his] rage <G

  • 7266> and fury <G 2528> commanded <G 0560> to bring <G 0858>

  • Shadrach <G 7715>, Meshach <G 4336>, and Abednego <G 5665>. Then

  • <G 0116> they brought <G 0858> these <G 0479> men <G 1400>

  • before <G 6925> the king <G 4430>.

  • 3:14 Nebuchadnezzar <G 5020> spake <G 6032> and said <G 0560>

  • unto them, [Is it] true <G 6656>, O Shadrach <G 7715>, Meshach

  • <G 4336>, and Abednego <G 5665>, do not ye serve <G 6399> my

  • gods <G 0426>, nor <G 3809> worship <G 5457> the golden <G 1722>

  • image <G 6755> which <G 1768> I have set <G 6966> up?

  • 3:15 Now <G 3705> if <G 2006> ye be ready <G 6263> that at what

  • <G 1768> time <G 5732> ye hear <G 8086> the sound <G 7032> of

  • the cornet <G 7162>, flute <G 4953>, harp <G 7030>, sackbut <G

  • 5443>, psaltery <G 6460>, and dulcimer <G 5481>, and all <G

  • 3606> kinds <G 2177> of musick <G 2170>, ye fall <G 5308> down

  • and worship <G 5457> the image <G 6755> which <G 1768> I have

  • made <G 5648>; [well]: but if <G 2006> ye worship <G 5457> not,

  • ye shall be cast <G 7412> the same hour <G 8160> into the midst

  • <G 1459> of a burning <G 3345> fiery <G 5135> furnace <G 0861>;

  • and who <G 4479> [is] that God <G 0426> that shall deliver <G

  • 7804> you out of my hands <G 3028>?

  • 3:16 Shadrach <G 7715>, Meshach <G 4336>, and Abednego <G 5665>,

  • answered <G 6032> and said <G 0560> to the king <G 4430>, O

  • Nebuchadnezzar <G 5020>, we [are] not careful <G 2818> to answer

  • <G 8421> thee in this <G 1836> matter <G 6600>.

  • 3:17 If <G 2006> it be [so], our God <G 0426> whom <G 1768> we

  • serve <G 6399> is able <G 3202> to deliver <G 7804> us from the

  • burning <G 3345> fiery <G 5135> furnace <G 0861>, and he will

  • deliver <G 7804> [us] out of thine hand <G 3028>, O king <G

  • 4430>.

  • 3:18 But if not, be it known <G 3046> unto thee, O king <G 4430>,

  • that we will not serve <G 6399> thy gods <G 0426>, nor <G 3809>

  • worship <G 5457> the golden <G 1722> image <G 6755> which <G

  • 1768> thou hast set <G 6966> up.

  • 3:19. Then <G 0116> was Nebuchadnezzar <G 5020> full <G 4391> of

  • fury <G 2528>, and the form <G 6755> of his visage <G 0600> was

  • changed <G 8133> against <G 5922> Shadrach <G 7715>, Meshach <G

  • 4336>, and Abednego <G 5665>: [therefore] he spake <G 6032>, and

  • commanded <G 0560> that they should heat <G 0228> the furnace <G

  • 0861> one <G 2298> seven <G 7655> times more <G 5922> than <G

  • 1768> it was wont <G 2370> to be heated <G 0228>.

  • 3:20 And he commanded <G 0560> the most <G 2429> mighty <G 1401>

  • men <G 1400> that [were] in his army <G 2429> to bind <G 3729>

  • Shadrach <G 7715>, Meshach <G 4336>, and Abednego <G 5665>,

  • [and] to cast <G 7412> [them] into the burning <G 3345> fiery <G

  • 5135> furnace <G 0861>.

  • 3:21 Then <G 0116> these <G 0479> men <G 1400> were bound <G

  • 3729> in their coats <G 5622>, their hosen <G 6361>, and their

  • hats <G 3737>, and their [other] garments <G 3831>, and were

  • cast <G 7412> into the midst <G 1459> of the burning <G 3345>

  • fiery <G 5135> furnace <G 0861>.

  • 3:22 Therefore because the king's <G 4430> commandment <G 4406>

  • was urgent <G 2685>, and the furnace <G 0861> exceeding <G 2493>

  • hot <G 0228>, the flame <G 7631> of the fire <G 5135> slew <G

  • 6992> those <G 0479> men <G 1400> that took <G 5267> up Shadrach

  • <G 7715>, Meshach <G 4336>, and Abednego <G 5665>.

  • 3:23 And these <G 0479> three <G 8532> men <G 1400>, Shadrach <G

  • 7715>, Meshach <G 4336>, and Abednego <G 5665>, fell <G 5308>

  • down bound <G 3729> into the midst <G 1459> of the burning <G

  • 3345> fiery <G 5135> furnace <G 0861>.

  • 3:24 Then <G 0116> Nebuchadnezzar <G 5020> the king <G 4430> was

  • astonied <G 8429>, and rose <G 6965> up in haste <G 0927>, [and]

  • spake <G 6032>, and said <G 0560> unto his counsellors <G 1907>,

  • Did not we cast <G 7412> three <G 8532> men <G 1400> bound <G

  • 3729> into the midst <G 1459> of the fire <G 5135>? They

  • answered <G 6032> and said <G 0560> unto the king <G 4430>, True

  • <G 3330>, O king <G 4430>.

  • 3:25 He answered <G 6032> and said <G 0560>, Lo <G 1888>, I see

  • <G 2370> four <G 0703> men <G 1400> loose <G 8271>, walking <G

  • 1981> in the midst <G 1459> of the fire <G 5135>, and they have

  • <G 0383> no <G 3809> hurt <G 2257>; and the form <G 7299> of the

  • fourth <G 7244> is like <G 1821> the Son <G 1247> of God <G

  • 0426>.

  • 3:26 Then <G 0116> Nebuchadnezzar <G 5020> came <G 7127> near <G

  • 7127> to the mouth <G 8651> of the burning <G 3345> fiery <G

  • 5135> furnace <G 0861>, [and] spake <G 6032>, and said <G 0560>,

  • Shadrach <G 7715>, Meshach <G 4336>, and Abednego <G 5665>, ye

  • servants <G 5649> of the most <G 5943> high <G 5943> God <G

  • 0426>, come <G 5312> forth <G 5312>, and come <G 0858> [hither].

  • Then <G 0116> Shadrach <G 7715>, Meshach <G 4336>, and Abednego

  • <G 5665>, came <G 5312> forth <G 5312> of the midst <G 1459> of

  • the fire <G 5135>.

  • 3:27 And the princes <G 0324>, governors <G 5461>, and captains

  • <G 6347>, and the king's <G 4430> counsellors <G 1907>, being

  • gathered <G 3673> together, saw <G 2370> these <G 0479> men <G

  • 1400>, upon whose <G 1768> bodies <G 1655> the fire <G 5135> had

  • no <G 3809> power <G 7981>, nor <G 3809> was an hair <G 8177> of

  • their head <G 7217> singed <G 2761>, neither <G 3809> were their

  • coats <G 5622> changed <G 8133>, nor <G 3809> the smell <G 7382>

  • of fire <G 5135> had passed <G 5709> on them.

  • 3:28. [Then] Nebuchadnezzar <G 5020> spake <G 6032>, and said <G

  • 0560>, Blessed <G 1289> [be] the God <G 0426> of Shadrach <G

  • 7715>, Meshach <G 4336>, and Abednego <G 5665>, who <G 1768>

  • hath sent <G 7972> his angel <G 4398>, and delivered <G 7804>

  • his servants <G 5649> that trusted <G 7365> in him, and have

  • changed <G 8133> the king's <G 4430> word <G 4406>, and yielded

  • <G 3052> their bodies <G 1655>, that they might not serve <G

  • 6399> nor <G 3809> worship <G 5457> any <G 3606> god <G 0426>,

  • except <G 3861> their own God <G 0426>.

  • 3:29 Therefore I make <G 7761> a decree <G 2942>, That every <G

  • 3606> people <G 5972>, nation <G 0524>, and language <G 3961>,

  • which <G 1768> speak <G 0560> any thing amiss <G 7955> against

  • <G 5922> the God <G 0426> of Shadrach <G 7715>, Meshach <G 4336>,

  • and Abednego <G 5665>, shall be cut <G 5648> in pieces <G 1917>,

  • and their houses <G 1005> shall be made <G 7739> a dunghill <G

  • 5122>: because there is no <G 3809> other <G 0321> God <G 0426>

  • that can <G 3202> deliver <G 5338> after <G 1863> this <G 1836>

  • sort.

  • 3:30 Then <G 0116> the king <G 4430> promoted <G 6744> Shadrach

  • <G 7715>, Meshach <G 4336>, and Abednego <G 5665>, in the

  • province <G 4082> of Babylon <G 0895>.

  • ==== <DAN4> Daniel 4

  • 4:1. Nebuchadnezzar <G 5020> the king <G 4430>, unto all <G

  • 3606> people <G 5972>, nations <G 0524>, and languages <G 3961>,

  • that dwell <G 1753> in all <G 3606> the earth <G 0772>; Peace <G

  • 8001> be multiplied <G 7680> unto you.

  • 4:2 I thought it good <G 8232> to shew <G 2324> the signs <G

  • 0852> and wonders <G 8540> that the high <G 5943> God <G 0426>

  • hath wrought <G 5648> toward <G 5974> me.

  • 4:3 How <G 4101> great <G 7260> [are] his signs <G 0852>! and

  • how <G 4101> mighty <G 8624> [are] his wonders <G 8540>! his

  • kingdom <G 4437> [is] an everlasting <G 5957> kingdom <G 4437>,

  • and his dominion <G 7985> [is] from generation <G 1859> to

  • generation <G 1859>.

  • 4:4. I Nebuchadnezzar <G 5020> was at rest <G 7954> in mine

  • house <G 1005>, and flourishing <G 7487> in my palace <G 1965>:

  • 4:5 I saw <G 2370> a dream <G 2493> which made me afraid <G

  • 1763>, and the thoughts <G 2031> upon my bed <G 4903> and the

  • visions <G 2376> of my head <G 7217> troubled <G 0927> me.

  • 4:6 Therefore made <G 7761> I a decree <G 2942> to bring <G

  • 5924> in all <G 3606> the wise <G 2445> [men] of Babylon <G

  • 0895> before <G 6925> me, that they might make known <G 3046>

  • unto me the interpretation <G 6591> of the dream <G 2493>.

  • 4:7 Then <G 0116> came <G 5954> in the magicians <G 2749>, the

  • astrologers <G 0826>, the Chaldeans <G 3779>, and the

  • soothsayers <G 1505>: and I told <G 0560> the dream <G 2493>

  • before <G 6925> them; but they did not make known <G 3046> unto

  • me the interpretation <G 6591> thereof.

  • 4:8 But at <G 5706> the last <G 0318> Daniel <G 1841> came <G

  • 5954> in before me, whose <G 1768> name <G 8036> [was]

  • Belteshazzar <G 1096>, according to the name <G 8036> of my god

  • <G 0426>, and in whom <G 1768> [is] the spirit <G 7308> of the

  • holy <G 6922> gods <G 0426>: and before <G 6925> him I told <G

  • 0560> the dream <G 2493>, [saying],

  • 4:9 O Belteshazzar <G 1096>, master <G 0729> of the magicians <G

  • 2749>, because <G 1768> I know <G 3046> that the spirit <G 7308>

  • of the holy <G 6922> gods <G 0426> [is] in thee, and no secret

  • <G 7328> troubleth <G 0598> thee, tell <G 0560> me the visions

  • <G 2376> of my dream <G 2493> that I have seen <G 2370>, and the

  • interpretation <G 6591> thereof.

  • 4:10 Thus [were] the visions <G 2376> of mine head <G 7217> in

  • my bed <G 4903>; I saw <G 2370>, and behold <G 0431> a tree <G

  • 0363> in the midst <G 1459> of the earth <G 0772>, and the

  • height <G 7314> thereof [was] great <G 7690>.

  • 4:11 The tree <G 0363> grew <G 7236>, and was strong <G 8631>,

  • and the height <G 7314> thereof reached <G 4291> unto heaven <G

  • 8065>, and the sight <G 2379> thereof to the end <G 5491> of all

  • <G 3606> the earth <G 0772>:

  • 4:12 The leaves <G 6074> thereof [were] fair <G 8509>, and the

  • fruit <G 4> thereof much <G 7690>, and in it [was] meat <G 4203>

  • for all <G 3606>: the beasts <G 2423> of the field <G 1251> had

  • shadow <G 2927> under <G 8460> it, and the fowls <G 6853> of the

  • heaven <G 8065> dwelt <G 1753> in the boughs <G 6056> thereof,

  • and all <G 3606> flesh <G 1321> was fed <G 2110> of it.

  • 4:13 I saw <G 2370> in the visions <G 2376> of my head <G 7217>

  • upon my bed <G 4903>, and, behold <G 0431>, a watcher <G 5894>

  • and an holy <G 6922> one came <G 5182> down <G 5182> from heaven

  • <G 8065>;

  • 4:14 He cried <G 7123> aloud <G 2429>, and said <G 0560> thus <G

  • 3652>, Hew <G 1414> down the tree <G 0363>, and cut <G 7113> off

  • his branches <G 6056>, shake <G 5426> off <G 0575> his leaves <G

  • 6074>, and scatter <G 0921> his fruit <G 4>: let the beasts <G

  • 2423> get <G 5111> away <G 5111> from under <G 8478> it, and the

  • fowls <G 6853> from his branches <G 6056>:

  • 4:15 Nevertheless <G 1297> leave <G 7662> the stump <G 6136> of

  • his roots <G 8330> in the earth <G 0772>, even with a band <G

  • 0613> of iron <G 6523> and brass <G 5174>, in the tender grass

  • <G 1883> of the field <G 1251>; and let it be wet <G 6647> with

  • the dew <G 2920> of heaven <G 8065>, and [let] his portion <G

  • 2508> [be] with the beasts <G 2423> in the grass <G 6211> of the

  • earth <G 0772>:

  • 4:16 Let his heart <G 3825> be changed <G 8133> from man's <G

  • 0606>, and let a beast's <G 2423> heart <G 3825> be given <G

  • 3052> unto him; and let seven <G 7655> times <G 5732> pass <G

  • 2499> over <G 5922> him.

  • 4:17 This matter <G 6600> [is] by the decree <G 1510> of the

  • watchers <G 5894>, and the demand <G 7595> by the word <G 3983>

  • of the holy <G 6922> ones: to the intent <G 1701> that the

  • living <G 2417> may know <G 3046> that the most <G 5943> High <G

  • 5943> ruleth <G 7980> in the kingdom <G 4437> of men <G 0606>,

  • and giveth <G 5415> it to whomsoever <G 4479> he will <G 6634>,

  • and setteth <G 6966> up over <G 5922> it the basest <G 8215> of

  • men <G 0606>.

  • 4:18 This <G 1836> dream <G 2493> I king <G 4430> Nebuchadnezzar

  • <G 5020> have seen <G 2370>. Now thou, O Belteshazzar <G 1096>,

  • declare <G 0560> the interpretation <G 6591> thereof, forasmuch

  • as all <G 3606> the wise <G 2445> [men] of my kingdom <G 4437>

  • are not able <G 3202> to make known <G 3046> unto me the

  • interpretation <G 6591>: but thou [art] able <G 3546>; for the

  • spirit <G 7308> of the holy <G 6922> gods <G 0426> [is] in thee.

  • 4:19. Then <G 0116> Daniel <G 1841>, whose <G 1768> name <G

  • 8036> [was] Belteshazzar <G 1096>, was astonied <G 8075> for one

  • <G 2298> hour <G 8160>, and his thoughts <G 7476> troubled <G

  • 0927> him. The king <G 4430> spake <G 6032>, and said <G 0560>,

  • Belteshazzar <G 1096>, let not the dream <G 2493>, or the

  • interpretation <G 6591> thereof, trouble <G 0927> thee.

  • Belteshazzar <G 1096> answered <G 6032> and said <G 0560>, My

  • lord <G 4756>, the dream <G 2493> [be] to them that hate <G

  • 8131> thee, and the interpretation <G 6591> thereof to thine

  • enemies <G 6146>.

  • 4:20 The tree <G 0363> that thou sawest <G 2370>, which <G 1768>

  • grew <G 7236>, and was strong <G 8631>, whose height <G 7314>

  • reached <G 4291> unto the heaven <G 8065>, and the sight <G

  • 2379> thereof to all <G 3606> the earth <G 0772>;

  • 4:21 Whose leaves <G 6074> [were] fair <G 8509>, and the fruit

  • <G 4> thereof much <G 7690>, and in it [was] meat <G 4203> for

  • all <G 3606>; under <G 8460> which the beasts <G 2423> of the

  • field <G 1251> dwelt <G 1753>, and upon whose branches <G 6056>

  • the fowls <G 6853> of the heaven <G 8065> had their habitation

  • <G 7932>:

  • 4:22 It [is] thou, O king <G 4430>, that art grown <G 7236> and

  • become <G 8631> strong <G 8631>: for thy greatness <G 7238> is

  • grown <G 7236>, and reacheth <G 4291> unto heaven <G 8065>, and

  • thy dominion <G 7985> to the end <G 5491> of the earth <G 0772>.

  • 4:23 And whereas <G 1768> the king <G 4430> saw <G 2370> a

  • watcher <G 5894> and an holy <G 6922> one coming <G 5182> down

  • <G 5182> from heaven <G 8065>, and saying <G 0560>, Hew <G 1414>

  • the tree <G 0363> down, and destroy <G 2255> it; yet <G 1297>

  • leave <G 7662> the stump <G 6136> of the roots <G 8330> thereof

  • in the earth <G 0772>, even with a band <G 0613> of iron <G

  • 6523> and brass <G 5174>, in the tender grass <G 1883> of the

  • field <G 1251>; and let it be wet <G 6647> with the dew <G 2920>

  • of heaven <G 8065>, and [let] his portion <G 2508> [be] with the

  • beasts <G 2423> of the field <G 1251>, till <G 5704> seven <G

  • 7655> times <G 5732> pass <G 2499> over <G 5922> him;

  • 4:24 This <G 1836> [is] the interpretation <G 6591>, O king <G

  • 4430>, and this <G 1931> [is] the decree <G 1510> of the most <G

  • 5943> High <G 5943>, which <G 1768> is come <G 4291> upon my

  • lord <G 4756> the king <G 4430>:

  • 4:25 That they shall drive <G 2957> thee from men <G 0606>, and

  • thy dwelling <G 4070> shall be with the beasts <G 2423> of the

  • field <G 1251>, and they shall make thee to eat <G 2939> grass

  • <G 6211> as oxen <G 8450>, and they shall wet <G 6647> thee with

  • the dew <G 2920> of heaven <G 8065>, and seven <G 7655> times <G

  • 5732> shall pass <G 2499> over <G 5922> thee, till <G 5704> thou

  • know <G 3046> that the most <G 5943> High ruleth <G 7980> in the

  • kingdom <G 4437> of men <G 0606>, and giveth <G 5415> it to

  • whomsoever <G 4479> he will <G 6634>.

  • 4:26 And whereas <G 1768> they commanded <G 0560> to leave <G

  • 7662> the stump <G 6136> of the tree <G 0363> roots <G 8330>;

  • thy kingdom <G 4437> shall be sure <G 7011> unto thee, after <G

  • 1767> that thou shalt have known <G 3046> that the heavens <G

  • 8065> do rule <G 7990>.

  • 4:27 Wherefore <G 3861>, O king <G 4430>, let my counsel <G

  • 4431> be acceptable <G 8232> unto thee, and break <G 6562> off

  • thy sins <G 2408> by righteousness <G 6665>, and thine

  • iniquities <G 5758> by shewing mercy <G 2604> to the poor <G

  • 6033>; if <G 2006> it may be a lengthening <G 0754> of thy

  • tranquillity <G 7963>.

  • 4:28. All <G 3606> this came <G 4291> upon the king <G 4430>

  • Nebuchadnezzar <G 5020>.

  • 4:29 At the end <G 7118> of twelve months <G 3393> he walked <G

  • 1981> in the palace <G 1965> of the kingdom <G 4437> of Babylon

  • <G 0895>.

  • 4:30 The king <G 4430> spake <G 6032>, and said <G 0560>, Is not

  • this <G 1668> great <G 7227> Babylon <G 0895>, that I have built

  • <G 1124> for the house <G 1005> of the kingdom <G 4437> by the

  • might <G 8632> of my power <G 2632>, and for the honour <G 3367>

  • of my majesty <G 1923>?

  • 4:31 While <G 5751> the word <G 4406> [was] in the king's <G

  • 4430> mouth <G 6433>, there fell <G 5308> a voice <G 7032> from

  • heaven <G 8065>, [saying], O king <G 4430> Nebuchadnezzar <G

  • 5020>, to thee it is spoken <G 0560>; The kingdom <G 4437> is

  • departed <G 5709> from thee.

  • 4:32 And they shall drive <G 2957> thee from men <G 0606>, and

  • thy dwelling <G 4070> [shall be] with the beasts <G 2423> of the

  • field <G 1251>: they shall make thee to eat <G 2939> grass <G

  • 6211> as oxen <G 8450>, and seven <G 7655> times <G 5732> shall

  • pass <G 2499> over <G 5922> thee, until <G 5704> thou know <G

  • 3046> that the most <G 5943> High <G 5943> ruleth <G 7980> in

  • the kingdom <G 4437> of men <G 0606>, and giveth <G 5415> it to

  • whomsoever <G 4479> he will <G 6634>.

  • 4:33 The same hour <G 8160> was the thing <G 4406> fulfilled <G

  • 5487> upon Nebuchadnezzar <G 5020>: and he was driven <G 2957>

  • from men <G 0606>, and did eat <G 0399> grass <G 6211> as oxen

  • <G 8450>, and his body <G 1655> was wet <G 6647> with the dew <G

  • 2920> of heaven <G 8065>, till <G 5704> his hairs <G 8177> were

  • grown <G 7236> like eagles <G 5403>' [feathers], and his nails

  • <G 2953> like birds <G 6853>' [claws].

  • 4:34. And at the end <G 7118> of the days <G 3118> I

  • Nebuchadnezzar <G 5020> lifted <G 5191> up mine eyes <G 5870>

  • unto heaven <G 8065>, and mine understanding <G 4486> returned

  • <G 7725> unto me, and I blessed <G 1289> the most <G 5943> High

  • <G 5943>, and I praised <G 7624> and honoured <G 1922> him that

  • liveth <G 2416> for ever <G 5957>, whose <G 1768> dominion <G

  • 7985> [is] an everlasting <G 5957> dominion <G 7985>, and his

  • kingdom <G 4437> [is] from generation <G 1859> to generation <G

  • 1859>:

  • 4:35 And all <G 3606> the inhabitants <G 1753> of the earth <G

  • 0772> [are] reputed <G 2804> as nothing <G 3809>: and he doeth

  • <G 5648> according to his will <G 6634> in the army <G 2429> of

  • heaven <G 8065>, and [among] the inhabitants <G 1753> of the

  • earth <G 0772>: and none <G 3809> can stay <G 4223> his hand <G

  • 3028>, or say <G 0560> unto him, What <G 4101> doest <G 5648>

  • thou?

  • 4:36 At the same time <G 2166> my reason <G 4486> returned <G

  • 7725> unto me; and for the glory <G 3367> of my kingdom <G 4437>,

  • mine honour <G 1923> and brightness <G 2122> returned <G 7725>

  • unto me; and my counsellors <G 1907> and my lords <G 7261>

  • sought <G 1158> unto me; and I was established <G 8627> in my

  • kingdom <G 4437>, and excellent <G 3493> majesty <G 7238> was

  • added <G 3255> unto me.

  • 4:37 Now <G 3705> I Nebuchadnezzar <G 5020> praise <G 7624> and

  • extol <G 7313> and honour <G 1922> the King <G 4430> of heaven

  • <G 8065>, all <G 3606> whose works <G 4567> [are] truth <G 7187>,

  • and his ways <G 0735> judgment <G 1780>: and those <G 1768>

  • that walk <G 1980> in pride <G 1466> he is able <G 3202> to

  • abase <G 8214>.

  • ==== <DAN5> Daniel 5

  • 5:1. Belshazzar <G 1113> the king <G 4430> made <G 5648> a great

  • <G 7227> feast <G 3900> to a thousand <G 0506> of his lords <G

  • 7261>, and drank <G 8355> wine <G 2562> before <G 6903> the

  • thousand <G 0506>.

  • 5:2 Belshazzar <G 1113>, whiles he tasted <G 2942> the wine <G

  • 2562>, commanded <G 0560> to bring <G 0858> the golden <G 1722>

  • and silver <G 3702> vessels <G 3984> which <G 1768> his father

  • <G 2> Nebuchadnezzar <G 5020> had taken <G 5312> out of the

  • temple <G 1965> which <G 1768> [was] in Jerusalem <G 3390>; that

  • the king <G 4430>, and his princes <G 7261>, his wives <G 7695>,

  • and his concubines <G 3904>, might drink <G 8355> therein.

  • 5:3 Then <G 0116> they brought <G 0858> the golden <G 1722>

  • vessels <G 3984> that were taken <G 5312> out of the temple <G

  • 1965> of the house <G 1005> of God <G 0426> which <G 1768> [was]

  • at Jerusalem <G 3390>; and the king <G 4430>, and his princes <G

  • 7261>, his wives <G 7695>, and his concubines <G 3904>, drank <G

  • 8355> in them.

  • 5:4 They drank <G 8355> wine <G 2562>, and praised <G 7624> the

  • gods <G 0426> of gold <G 1722>, and of silver <G 3702>, of brass

  • <G 5174>, of iron <G 6523>, of wood <G 0636>, and of stone <G

  • 69>.

  • 5:5 In the same hour <G 8160> came <G 5312> forth <G 5312>

  • fingers <G 0677> of a man's <G 0606> hand <G 3028>, and wrote <G

  • 3790> over <G 6903> against <G 6903> the candlestick <G 5043>

  • upon the plaister <G 1528> of the wall <G 3797> of the king's <G

  • 4430> palace <G 1965>: and the king <G 4430> saw <G 2370> the

  • part <G 6447> of the hand <G 3028> that wrote <G 3790>.

  • 5:6 Then <G 0116> the king's <G 4430> countenance <G 2122> was

  • changed <G 8133>, and his thoughts <G 7476> troubled <G 0927>

  • him, so that the joints <G 7001> of his loins <G 2788> were

  • loosed <G 8271>, and his knees <G 0755> smote <G 5368> one <G

  • 1668> against another <G 1668>.

  • 5:7 The king <G 4430> cried <G 7123> aloud <G 2429> to bring <G

  • 5924> in the astrologers <G 0826>, the Chaldeans <G 3779>, and

  • the soothsayers <G 1505>. [And] the king <G 4430> spake <G 6032>,

  • and said <G 0560> to the wise <G 2445> [men] of Babylon <G

  • 0895>, Whosoever <G 3605> shall read <G 7123> this <G 1836>

  • writing <G 3792>, and shew <G 2324> me the interpretation <G

  • 6591> thereof, shall be clothed <G 3848> with scarlet <G 0711>,

  • and [have] a chain <G 2002> of gold <G 1722> about <G 5922> his

  • neck <G 6676>, and shall be the third <G 8523> ruler <G 7981> in

  • the kingdom <G 4437>.

  • 5:8 Then <G 0116> came <G 5954> in all <G 3606> the king's <G

  • 4430> wise <G 2445> [men]: but they could <G 3546> not read <G

  • 7123> the writing <G 3792>, nor make known <G 3046> to the king

  • <G 4430> the interpretation <G 6591> thereof.

  • 5:9 Then <G 0116> was king <G 4430> Belshazzar <G 1113> greatly

  • <G 7690> troubled <G 0927>, and his countenance <G 2122> was

  • changed <G 8133> in him, and his lords <G 7261> were astonied <G

  • 2672>.

  • 5:10. [Now] the queen <G 4433>, by reason <G 6903> of the words

  • <G 4406> of the king <G 4430> and his lords <G 7261>, came <G

  • 5954> into the banquet <G 4961> house <G 1005>: [and] the queen

  • <G 4433> spake <G 6032> and said <G 0560>, O king <G 4430>, live

  • <G 2414> for ever <G 5957>: let not thy thoughts <G 7476>

  • trouble <G 0927> thee, nor <G 0408> let thy countenance <G 2122>

  • be changed <G 8133>:

  • 5:11 There is a man <G 1400> in thy kingdom <G 4437>, in whom <G

  • 1768> [is] the spirit <G 7308> of the holy <G 6922> gods <G

  • 0426>; and in the days <G 3118> of thy father <G 2> light <G

  • 5094> and understanding <G 7924> and wisdom <G 2452>, like the

  • wisdom <G 2452> of the gods <G 0426>, was found <G 7912> in him;

  • whom the king <G 4430> Nebuchadnezzar <G 5020> thy father <G 2>,

  • the king <G 4430>, [I say], thy father <G 2>, made master <G

  • 0729> of the magicians <G 2749>, astrologers <G 0826>, Chaldeans

  • <G 3779>, [and] soothsayers <G 1505>;

  • 5:12 Forasmuch as an excellent <G 3493> spirit <G 7308>, and

  • knowledge <G 0998>, and understanding <G 7924>, interpreting <G

  • 6591> of dreams <G 2493>, and shewing <G 0263> of hard <G 0280>

  • sentences <G 0280>, and dissolving <G 8271> of doubts <G 7001>,

  • were found <G 7912> in the same Daniel <G 1841>, whom <G 1768>

  • the king <G 4430> named <G 8036> Belteshazzar <G 1096>: now <G

  • 3705> let Daniel <G 1841> be called <G 7123>, and he will shew

  • <G 5046> the interpretation <G 6591>.

  • 5:13 Then <G 0116> was Daniel <G 1841> brought <G 5954> in

  • before <G 6925> the king <G 4430>. [And] the king <G 4430> spake

  • <G 6032> and said <G 0560> unto Daniel <G 1841>, [Art] thou that

  • Daniel <G 1841>, which <G 1768> [art] of the children <G 1123>

  • of the captivity <G 1547> of Judah <G 3061>, whom <G 1768> the

  • king <G 4430> my father <G 2> brought <G 0858> out of Jewry <G

  • 3061>?

  • 5:14 I have even heard <G 8086> of thee, that the spirit <G

  • 7308> of the gods <G 0426> [is] in thee, and [that] light <G

  • 5094> and understanding <G 7924> and excellent <G 3493> wisdom

  • <G 2452> is found <G 7912> in thee.

  • 5:15 And now <G 3705> the wise <G 2445> [men], the astrologers

  • <G 0826>, have been brought <G 5954> in before <G 6925> me, that

  • they should read <G 7123> this <G 1836> writing <G 3792>, and

  • make known <G 3046> unto me the interpretation <G 6591> thereof:

  • but they could <G 5346> not shew <G 2324> the interpretation <G

  • 6591> of the thing <G 4406>:

  • 5:16 And I have heard <G 8086> of thee, that thou canst <G 3202>

  • make interpretations <G 6591>, and dissolve <G 8271> doubts <G

  • 7001>: now <G 3705> if <G 2006> thou canst <G 3202> read <G

  • 7123> the writing <G 3792>, and make known <G 3046> to me the

  • interpretation <G 6591> thereof, thou shalt be clothed <G 3848>

  • with scarlet <G 0711>, and [have] a chain <G 2002> of gold <G

  • 1722> about <G 5922> thy neck <G 6676>, and shalt be the third

  • <G 8531> ruler <G 7981> in the kingdom <G 4437>.

  • 5:17 Then <G 0116> Daniel <G 1841> answered <G 6032> and said <G

  • 0560> before <G 6925> the king <G 4430>, Let thy gifts <G 4978>

  • be to thyself, and give <G 3052> thy rewards <G 5023> to another

  • <G 0321>; yet <G 1297> I will read <G 7123> the writing <G 3792>

  • unto the king <G 4430>, and make known <G 3046> to him the

  • interpretation <G 6591>.

  • 5:18 O thou king <G 4430>, the most <G 5943> high <G 5943> God

  • <G 0426> gave <G 3052> Nebuchadnezzar <G 5020> thy father <G 2>

  • a kingdom <G 4437>, and majesty <G 7238>, and glory <G 3367>,

  • and honour <G 1923>:

  • 5:19 And for the majesty <G 7238> that he gave <G 3052> him, all

  • <G 3606> people <G 5972>, nations <G 0524>, and languages <G

  • 3961>, trembled <G 2112> and feared <G 1763> before him: whom <G

  • 1768> he would <G 6634> he slew <G 6992>; and whom <G 1768> he

  • would <G 6634> he kept alive <G 2418>; and whom <G 1768> he

  • would <G 6634> he set <G 7313> up; and whom he would <G 6634> he

  • put <G 8214> down <G 8214>.

  • 5:20 But when <G 1768> his heart <G 3825> was lifted <G 7313> up,

  • and his mind <G 7307> hardened <G 8631> in pride <G 2103>, he

  • was deposed <G 5182> from his kingly <G 4437> throne <G 3764>,

  • and they took <G 5709> his glory <G 3367> from him:

  • 5:21 And he was driven <G 2957> from the sons <G 1123> of men <G

  • 0606>; and his heart <G 3825> was made <G 7737> like <G 5974>

  • the beasts <G 2423>, and his dwelling <G 4070> [was] with the

  • wild <G 6167> asses <G 6167>: they fed <G 2939> him with grass

  • <G 6211> like oxen <G 8450>, and his body <G 1655> was wet <G

  • 6647> with the dew <G 2920> of heaven <G 8065>; till <G 5704> he

  • knew <G 3046> that the most <G 5943> high <G 5943> God <G 0426>

  • ruled <G 7990> in the kingdom <G 4437> of men <G 0606>, and

  • [that] he appointeth <G 6966> over <G 5922> it whomsoever he

  • will <G 6634>.

  • 5:22 And thou his son <G 1247>, O Belshazzar <G 1113>, hast not

  • humbled <G 8214> thine heart <G 3825>, though thou knewest <G

  • 3046> all <G 3606> this <G 1836>;

  • 5:23 But hast lifted <G 7313> up thyself against <G 5922> the

  • Lord <G 4756> of heaven <G 8065>; and they have brought <G 0858>

  • the vessels <G 3984> of his house <G 1005> before <G 6925> thee,

  • and thou, and thy lords <G 7261>, thy wives <G 7695>, and thy

  • concubines <G 3904>, have drunk <G 8355> wine <G 2562> in them;

  • and thou hast praised <G 7624> the gods <G 0426> of silver <G

  • 3702>, and gold <G 1722>, of brass <G 5174>, iron <G 6523>, wood

  • <G 0636>, and stone <G 69>, which <G 1768> see <G 2370> not, nor

  • <G 3809> hear <G 8086>, nor <G 3809> know <G 3046>: and the God

  • <G 0426> in whose <G 1768> hand <G 3028> thy breath <G 5396>

  • [is], and whose [are] all <G 3606> thy ways <G 0735>, hast thou

  • not glorified <G 1922>:

  • 5:24 Then <G 0116> was the part <G 6447> of the hand <G 3028>

  • sent <G 7972> from him; and this <G 1836> writing <G 3792> was

  • written <G 7560>.

  • 5:25 And this <G 1836> [is] the writing <G 3792> that was

  • written <G 7560>, MENE <G 4484>, MENE <G 4484>, TEKEL <G 8625>,

  • UPHARSIN <G 6537>.

  • 5:26 This <G 1836> [is] the interpretation <G 6591> of the thing

  • <G 4406>: MENE <G 4484>; God <G 0426> hath numbered <G 4483> thy

  • kingdom <G 4437>, and finished <G 8000> it.

  • 5:27 TEKEL <G 8625>; Thou art weighed <G 8625> in the balances

  • <G 3976>, and art found <G 7912> wanting <G 2627>.

  • 5:28 PERES <G 6537>; Thy kingdom <G 4437> is divided <G 6537>,

  • and given <G 3052> to the Medes <G 4076> and Persians <G 6540>.

  • 5:29 Then <G 0116> commanded <G 0560> Belshazzar <G 1113>, and

  • they clothed <G 3848> Daniel <G 1841> with scarlet <G 0711>, and

  • [put] a chain <G 2002> of gold <G 1722> about <G 5922> his neck

  • <G 6676>, and made a proclamation <G 3745> concerning <G 5922>

  • him, that he should be the third <G 8531> ruler <G 7990> in the

  • kingdom <G 4437>.

  • 5:30. In that night <G 3916> was Belshazzar <G 1113> the king <G

  • 4430> of the Chaldeans <G 3779> slain <G 6992>.

  • 5:31 And Darius <G 1868> the Median <G 4077> took <G 6902> the

  • kingdom <G 4437>, [being] about threescore <G 8361> and two <G

  • 8648> years <G 8140> old <G 1247>.

  • ==== <DAN6> Daniel 6

  • 6:1. It pleased <G 8232> Darius <G 1868> to set <G 3966> over <G

  • 5922> the kingdom <G 4437> an hundred <G 3969> and twenty <G

  • 6243> princes <G 0324>, which <G 1768> should be over the whole

  • <G 3606> kingdom <G 4437>;

  • 6:2 And over <G 5924> these <G 4481> three <G 8532> presidents

  • <G 5632>; of whom Daniel <G 1841> [was] first <G 2298>: that the

  • princes <G 0324> might give <G 3052> accounts <G 2941> unto them,

  • and the king <G 4430> should have <G 1934> no <G 3809> damage

  • <G 5142>.

  • 6:3 Then <G 0116> this <G 1836> Daniel <G 1841> was preferred <G

  • 5330> above <G 5922> the presidents <G 5632> and princes <G

  • 0324>, because an excellent <G 3493> spirit <G 7308> [was] in

  • him; and the king <G 4430> thought <G 6246> to set <G 3966> him

  • over <G 5922> the whole <G 3606> realm <G 4437>.

  • 6:4 Then <G 0116> the presidents <G 5632> and princes <G 0324>

  • sought <G 1158> to find <G 7912> occasion <G 5931> against

  • Daniel <G 1841> concerning <G 6655> the kingdom <G 4437>; but

  • they could <G 3202> find <G 7912> none <G 3809> occasion <G

  • 5931> nor <G 3809> fault <G 7844>; forasmuch as he [was]

  • faithful <G 0540>, neither <G 3809> was there any <G 3606> error

  • <G 7960> or fault <G 7844> found <G 7912> in him.

  • 6:5 Then <G 0116> said <G 0560> these <G 0479> men <G 1400>, We

  • shall not find <G 7912> any <G 3606> occasion <G 5931> against

  • <G 5922> this <G 1836> Daniel <G 1841>, except <G 3861> we find

  • <G 7912> [it] against him concerning the law <G 1882> of his God

  • <G 0426>.

  • 6:6. Then <G 0116> these <G 0459> presidents <G 5632> and

  • princes <G 0324> assembled <G 7284> together to the king <G

  • 4430>, and said <G 0560> thus <G 3652> unto him, King <G 4430>

  • Darius <G 1868>, live <G 2414> for ever <G 5757>.

  • 6:7 All <G 3606> the presidents <G 5632> of the kingdom <G 4437>,

  • the governors <G 5461>, and the princes <G 0324>, the

  • counsellors <G 1907>, and the captains <G 6347>, have consulted

  • <G 3272> together to establish <G 6966> a royal <G 4430> statute

  • <G 7010>, and to make a firm <G 8631> decree <G 0633>, that

  • whosoever <G 3605> shall ask <G 1156> a petition <G 1159> of any

  • <G 3606> God <G 0426> or man <G 0606> for thirty <G 8533> days

  • <G 3118>, save <G 3861> of thee, O king <G 4430>, he shall be

  • cast <G 7412> into the den <G 1358> of lions <G 0744>.

  • 6:8 Now <G 3705>, O king <G 4430>, establish <G 6966> the decree

  • <G 0633>, and sign <G 7560> the writing <G 3792>, that it be not

  • changed <G 8133>, according to the law <G 1882> of the Medes <G

  • 4076> and Persians <G 6540>, which <G 1768> altereth <G 5709>

  • not.

  • 6:9 Wherefore king <G 4430> Darius <G 1868> signed <G 7560> the

  • writing <G 3792> and the decree <G 0633>.

  • 6:10 Now <G 1768> when <G 1768> Daniel <G 1841> knew <G 3046>

  • that the writing <G 3792> was signed <G 7560>, he went <G 5954>

  • into his house <G 1005>; and his windows <G 3551> being open <G

  • 6606> in his chamber <G 5952> toward <G 5049> Jerusalem <G 3390>,

  • he kneeled <G 1289> upon his knees <G 1291> three <G 8532>

  • times <G 2166> a day <G 3118>, and prayed <G 6739>, and gave

  • thanks <G 3029> before <G 6925> his God <G 0426>, as he did <G

  • 5648> aforetime.

  • 6:11. Then <G 0116> these <G 0479> men <G 1400> assembled <G

  • 7284>, and found <G 7912> Daniel <G 1841> praying <G 1156> and

  • making supplication <G 2604> before <G 6925> his God <G 0426>.

  • 6:12 Then <G 0116> they came <G 7127> near <G 7127>, and spake

  • <G 0560> before <G 6925> the king <G 4430> concerning <G 5922>

  • the king's <G 4430> decree <G 0633>; Hast thou not signed <G

  • 7560> a decree <G 0633>, that every <G 3606> man <G 0606> that

  • shall ask <G 1156> [a petition] of any <G 3606> God <G 0426> or

  • man <G 0606> within <G 5705> thirty <G 8533> days <G 3118>, save

  • <G 3861> of thee, O king <G 4430>, shall be cast <G 7412> into

  • the den <G 1358> of lions <G 0744>? The king <G 4430> answered

  • <G 6032> and said <G 0560>, The thing <G 4406> [is] true <G

  • 3330>, according to the law <G 1882> of the Medes <G 4076> and

  • Persians <G 6540>, which <G 1768> altereth <G 5709> not.

  • 6:13 Then <G 0116> answered <G 6032> they and said <G 0560>

  • before <G 6925> the king <G 4430>, That Daniel <G 1841>, which

  • <G 1768> [is] of the children <G 1123> of the captivity <G 1547>

  • of Judah <G 3061>, regardeth not thee, O king <G 4430>, nor the

  • decree <G 0633> that thou hast signed <G 7560>, but maketh his

  • petition <G 1159> three <G 8532> times <G 2166> a day <G 3118>.

  • 6:14 Then <G 0116> the king <G 4430>, when <G 1768> he heard <G

  • 8086> [these] words <G 4406>, was sore <G 7690> displeased <G

  • 0888> with himself, and set <G 7761> [his] heart <G 1079> on <G

  • 5922> Daniel <G 1841> to deliver <G 7804> him: and he laboured

  • <G 7712> till <G 5704> the going <G 4606> down <G 4606> of the

  • sun <G 8122> to deliver <G 5338> him.

  • 6:15 Then <G 0116> these <G 0479> men <G 1400> assembled <G

  • 7284> unto the king <G 4430>, and said <G 0560> unto the king <G

  • 4430>, Know <G 3046>, O king <G 4430>, that the law <G 1882> of

  • the Medes <G 4076> and Persians <G 6540> [is], That no decree <G

  • 0633> nor statute <G 7010> which <G 1768> the king <G 4430>

  • establisheth <G 6966> may be changed <G 8133>.

  • 6:16 Then <G 0116> the king <G 4430> commanded <G 0560>, and

  • they brought <G 0858> Daniel <G 1841>, and cast <G 7412> [him]

  • into the den <G 1358> of lions <G 0744>. [Now <G 0116>] the king

  • <G 4430> spake <G 6032> and said <G 0560> unto Daniel <G 1841>,

  • Thy God <G 0426> whom <G 1768> thou servest <G 6399> continually

  • <G 8411>, he will deliver <G 7804> thee.

  • 6:17 And a stone <G 69> was brought <G 0858>, and laid <G 7760>

  • upon the mouth <G 6433> of the den <G 1358>; and the king <G

  • 4430> sealed <G 2857> it with his own signet <G 5824>, and with

  • the signet <G 5824> of his lords <G 7261>; that the purpose <G

  • 6640> might not be changed <G 8133> concerning Daniel <G 1841>.

  • 6:18. Then <G 0116> the king <G 4430> went <G 0236> to his

  • palace <G 1965>, and passed the night <G 0956> fasting <G 2908>:

  • neither <G 3809> were instruments <G 1761> of musick brought <G

  • 5954> before <G 6925> him: and his sleep <G 8139> went <G 5075>

  • from him.

  • 6:19 Then <G 0116> the king <G 4430> arose <G 6966> very early

  • <G 8238> in the morning <G 5053>, and went <G 0236> in haste <G

  • 0927> unto the den <G 1358> of lions <G 0744>.

  • 6:20 And when he came <G 7127> to the den <G 1358>, he cried <G

  • 2200> with a lamentable <G 6088> voice <G 7032> unto Daniel <G

  • 1841>: [and] the king <G 4430> spake <G 6032> and said <G 0560>

  • to Daniel <G 1841>, O Daniel <G 1841>, servant <G 5649> of the

  • living <G 2417> God <G 0426>, is thy God <G 0426>, whom <G 1768>

  • thou servest <G 6399> continually <G 8411>, able <G 3202> to

  • deliver <G 7804> thee from the lions <G 0744>?

  • 6:21 Then <G 0116> said <G 4449> Daniel <G 1841> unto the king

  • <G 4430>, O king <G 4430>, live <G 2414> for ever <G 5957>.

  • 6:22 My God <G 0426> hath sent <G 7972> his angel <G 4398>, and

  • hath shut <G 5463> the lions <G 0744>' mouths <G 6433>, that

  • they have not hurt <G 2255> me: forasmuch as before <G 6925> him

  • innocency <G 2136> was found <G 7912> in me; and also <G 0638>

  • before <G 6925> thee, O king <G 4430>, have I done <G 5648> no

  • <G 3809> hurt <G 2248>.

  • 6:23 Then <G 0116> was the king <G 4430> exceeding <G 7689> glad

  • <G 2868> for him, and commanded <G 0560> that they should take

  • <G 5267> Daniel <G 1841> up out of the den <G 1358>. So Daniel

  • <G 1841> was taken <G 5267> up out of the den <G 1358>, and no

  • manner of hurt <G 2257> was found <G 7912> upon him, because <G

  • 1768> he believed <G 0540> in his God <G 0426>.

  • 6:24 And the king <G 4430> commanded <G 0560>, and they brought

  • <G 0858> those <G 0479> men <G 1400> which <G 1768> had accused

  • <G 7170> Daniel <G 1841>, and they cast <G 7412> [them] into the

  • den <G 1358> of lions <G 0744>, them, their children <G 1123>,

  • and their wives <G 5389>; and the lions <G 0744> had the mastery

  • <G 6981> of them, and brake <G 1855> all <G 3606> their bones <G

  • 1635> in pieces or ever <G 3809> they came <G 4291> at the

  • bottom <G 0773> of the den <G 1358>.

  • 6:25. Then <G 0116> king <G 4430> Darius <G 1868> wrote <G 3790>

  • unto all <G 3606> people <G 5972>, nations <G 0524>, and

  • languages <G 3961>, that dwell <G 1753> in all <G 3606> the

  • earth <G 0772>; Peace <G 8001> be multiplied <G 7680> unto you.

  • 6:26 I make <G 7761> a decree <G 2942>, That in every <G 3606>

  • dominion <G 7985> of my kingdom <G 4437> men tremble <G 2112>

  • and fear <G 1763> before the God <G 0426> of Daniel <G 1841>:

  • for he [is] the living <G 2417> God <G 0426>, and stedfast <G

  • 7011> for ever <G 5957>, and his kingdom <G 4437> [that] which

  • <G 1768> shall not be destroyed <G 2255>, and his dominion <G

  • 7985> [shall be even] unto the end <G 5491>.

  • 6:27 He delivereth <G 7804> and rescueth <G 5338>, and he

  • worketh <G 5648> signs <G 0852> and wonders <G 8540> in heaven

  • <G 8065> and in earth <G 0772>, who <G 1768> hath delivered <G

  • 7804> Daniel <G 1841> from the power <G 3028> of the lions <G

  • 0744>.

  • 6:28 So this <G 1836> Daniel <G 1841> prospered <G 6744> in the

  • reign <G 4437> of Darius <G 1868>, and in the reign <G 4437> of

  • Cyrus <G 3567> the Persian <G 6523>.

  • ==== <DAN7> Daniel 7

  • 7:1. In the first <G 2298> year <G 8140> of Belshazzar <G 1113>

  • king <G 4430> of Babylon <G 0895> Daniel <G 1841> had <G 2370> a

  • dream <G 2493> and visions <G 2376> of his head <G 7217> upon

  • his bed <G 4903>: then <G 0116> he wrote <G 3790> the dream <G

  • 2493>, [and] told <G 0560> the sum <G 7217> of the matters <G

  • 4406>.

  • 7:2 Daniel <G 1841> spake <G 6032> and said <G 0560>, I saw <G

  • 2370> in my vision <G 2376> by night <G 3916>, and, behold <G

  • 0718>, the four <G 0703> winds <G 7308> of the heaven <G 8065>

  • strove <G 1519> upon the great <G 7227> sea <G 3221>.

  • 7:3 And four <G 0703> great <G 7260> beasts <G 2423> came <G

  • 5559> up from the sea <G 3221>, diverse <G 8133> one <G 1668>

  • from another <G 1668>.

  • 7:4 The first <G 6933> [was] like a lion <G 0738>, and had

  • eagle's <G 5403> wings <G 1611>: I beheld till <G 5704> the

  • wings <G 1611> thereof were plucked <G 4804>, and it was lifted

  • <G 5191> up from the earth <G 0772>, and made stand <G 6966>

  • upon the feet <G 7271> as a man <G 0606>, and a man's <G 0606>

  • heart <G 3825> was given <G 3052> to it.

  • 7:5 And behold <G 0718> another <G 0317> beast <G 2423>, a

  • second <G 8578>, like <G 1821> to a bear <G 1678>, and it raised

  • <G 6966> up itself on one <G 2298> side <G 7859>, and [it had]

  • three <G 8532> ribs <G 6763> in the mouth <G 6433> of it between

  • <G 0997> the teeth <G 8128> of it: and they said <G 0560> thus

  • <G 3652> unto it, Arise <G 6965>, devour <G 0399> much <G 7690>

  • flesh <G 1321>.

  • 7:6 After <G 0870> this <G 1836> I beheld, and lo <G 0718>

  • another <G 0317>, like a leopard <G 5245>, which <G 1768> had

  • upon the back <G 1355> of it four <G 0703> wings <G 1611> of a

  • fowl <G 5776>; the beast <G 2423> had also four <G 0703> heads

  • <G 7217>; and dominion <G 7985> was given <G 3052> to it.

  • 7:7 After <G 0870> this <G 1836> I saw <G 2370> in the night <G

  • 3916> visions <G 2376>, and behold <G 0718> a fourth <G 7244>

  • beast <G 2423>, dreadful <G 1763> and terrible <G 0574>, and

  • strong <G 8624> exceedingly <G 3493>; and it had great <G 7260>

  • iron <G 6523> teeth <G 8128>: it devoured <G 0399> and brake <G

  • 1855> in pieces, and stamped <G 7512> the residue <G 7606> with

  • the feet <G 7271> of it: and it [was] diverse <G 8133> from all

  • <G 3606> the beasts <G 2423> that [were] before <G 6925> it; and

  • it had ten <G 6236> horns <G 7162>.

  • 7:8 I considered <G 7920> the horns <G 7162>, and, behold <G

  • 0431>, there came <G 5559> up among <G 0997> them another <G

  • 0317> little <G 2192> horn <G 7162>, before <G 6925> whom there

  • were three <G 8532> of the first <G 6933> horns <G 7162> plucked

  • <G 6132> up by the roots <G 6132>: and, behold <G 0431>, in this

  • <G 1668> horn <G 7162> [were] eyes <G 5870> like the eyes <G

  • 5870> of man <G 0606>, and a mouth <G 6433> speaking <G 4449>

  • great <G 7260> things.

  • 7:9. I beheld till <G 5704> the thrones <G 3764> were cast <G

  • 7412> down, and the Ancient <G 6268> of days <G 3118> did sit <G

  • 3488>, whose garment <G 3831> [was] white as snow <G 8517>, and

  • the hair <G 8177> of his head <G 7217> like the pure <G 5343>

  • wool <G 6015>: his throne <G 3764> [was like] the fiery <G 5135>

  • flame <G 7631>, [and] his wheels <G 1535> [as] burning <G 1815>

  • fire <G 5135>.

  • 7:10 A fiery <G 5135> stream <G 5103> issued <G 5047> and came

  • <G 5312> forth <G 5312> from before <G 6925> him: thousand <G

  • 0506> thousands <G 0506> ministered <G 8120> unto him, and ten

  • <G 7240> thousand <G 7240> times ten <G 7240> thousand <G 7240>

  • stood <G 6966> before <G 6925> him: the judgment <G 1780> was

  • set <G 3488>, and the books <G 5609> were opened <G 6606>.

  • 7:11 I beheld then <G 0116> because <G 4481> of the voice <G

  • 7032> of the great <G 7260> words <G 4406> which <G 1768> the

  • horn <G 7162> spake <G 4449>: I beheld [even <G 5705>] till <G

  • 5704> the beast <G 2423> was slain <G 6992>, and his body <G

  • 1655> destroyed <G 7>, and given <G 3052> to the burning <G

  • 3346> flame <G 0785>.

  • 7:12 As concerning the rest <G 7606> of the beasts <G 2423>,

  • they had their dominion <G 7985> taken <G 5709> away <G 5709>:

  • yet their lives <G 2417> were prolonged for a season <G 2166>

  • and time <G 5732>.

  • 7:13 I saw <G 2370> in the night <G 6916> visions <G 2376>, and,

  • behold <G 0718>, [one] like the Son <G 1247> of man <G 0606>

  • came with the clouds <G 6050> of heaven <G 8065>, and came <G

  • 4291> to the Ancient <G 6268> of days <G 3118>, and they brought

  • <G 7127> him near <G 7127> before <G 6925> him.

  • 7:14 And there was given <G 3052> him dominion <G 7985>, and

  • glory <G 3367>, and a kingdom <G 4437>, that all <G 3606> people

  • <G 5972>, nations <G 0524>, and languages <G 3961>, should serve

  • <G 6399> him: his dominion <G 7985> [is] an everlasting <G 5957>

  • dominion <G 7985>, which <G 1768> shall not pass <G 5709> away

  • <G 5709>, and his kingdom <G 4437> [that] which <G 1768> shall

  • not be destroyed <G 2255>.

  • 7:15. I Daniel <G 1841> was grieved <G 3735> in my spirit <G

  • 7308> in the midst <G 1459> of [my] body <G 5085>, and the

  • visions <G 2376> of my head <G 7217> troubled <G 0927> me.

  • 7:16 I came <G 7127> near <G 7127> unto one <G 2298> of them

  • that stood <G 6966> by, and asked <G 1156> him the truth <G

  • 3330> of all <G 3606> this <G 1836>. So he told <G 0560> me, and

  • made me know <G 3046> the interpretation <G 6591> of the things

  • <G 4406>.

  • 7:17 These <G 0459> great <G 7260> beasts <G 2423>, which <G

  • 1768> are four <G 0703>, [are] four <G 0703> kings <G 4430>,

  • [which] shall arise <G 6965> out of the earth <G 0772>.

  • 7:18 But the saints <G 6922> of the most <G 5946> High <G 5946>

  • shall take <G 6902> the kingdom <G 4437>, and possess <G 2631>

  • the kingdom <G 4437> for ever <G 5957>, even <G 5705> for ever

  • <G 5957> and ever <G 5957>.

  • 7:19 Then <G 0116> I would <G 6634> know <G 3046> the truth <G

  • 3321> of the fourth <G 7244> beast <G 2423>, which <G 1768> was

  • diverse <G 8133> from all <G 3606> the others, exceeding <G

  • 3493> dreadful <G 1763>, whose <G 1768> teeth <G 8128> [were of]

  • iron <G 6523>, and his nails <G 2953> [of] brass <G 5174>;

  • [which] devoured <G 0399>, brake <G 1855> in pieces, and stamped

  • <G 7512> the residue <G 7606> with his feet <G 7271>;

  • 7:20 And of the ten <G 6236> horns <G 7162> that [were] in his

  • head <G 7217>, and [of] the other <G 0317> which <G 1768> came

  • <G 5559> up, and before whom <G 4479> three <G 8532> fell <G

  • 5308>; even [of] that horn <G 7162> that had eyes <G 5870>, and

  • a mouth <G 6433> that spake <G 4449> very <G 7260> great <G

  • 7260> things, whose look <G 2376> [was] more <G 5750> stout <G

  • 7229> than <G 4481> his fellows <G 2273>.

  • 7:21 I beheld, and the same <G 1797> horn <G 7162> made <G 5648>

  • war <G 7129> with the saints <G 6922>, and prevailed <G 3202>

  • against them;

  • 7:22 Until <G 5704> the Ancient <G 6268> of days <G 3118> came

  • <G 0858>, and judgment <G 1780> was given <G 3052> to the saints

  • <G 6922> of the most <G 5946> High <G 5946>; and the time <G

  • 2166> came <G 4291> that the saints <G 6922> possessed <G 2631>

  • the kingdom <G 4437>.

  • 7:23 Thus <G 3652> he said <G 0560>, The fourth <G 7244> beast

  • <G 2423> shall be the fourth <G 7244> kingdom <G 4437> upon

  • earth <G 0772>, which <G 1768> shall be diverse <G 8133> from

  • all <G 3606> kingdoms <G 4437>, and shall devour <G 0399> the

  • whole <G 3606> earth <G 0772>, and shall tread <G 1759> it down,

  • and break <G 1854> it in pieces.

  • 7:24 And the ten <G 6236> horns <G 7162> out of this kingdom <G

  • 4437> [are] ten <G 6236> kings <G 4430> [that] shall arise <G

  • 6965>: and another <G 0312> shall rise <G 6966> after <G 0311>

  • them; and he shall be diverse <G 8133> from the first <G 6933>,

  • and he shall subdue <G 8214> three <G 8532> kings <G 4430>.

  • 7:25 And he shall speak <G 4449> [great] words <G 4406> against

  • <G 6655> the most <G 5943> High <G 5943>, and shall wear <G

  • 1080> out the saints <G 6922> of the most <G 5946> High <G 5946>,

  • and think <G 5452> to change <G 8133> times <G 2166> and laws

  • <G 1882>: and they shall be given <G 3052> into his hand <G

  • 3028> until <G 5704> a time <G 5732> and times <G 5732> and the

  • dividing <G 6387> of time <G 5732>.

  • 7:26 But the judgment <G 1780> shall sit <G 3488>, and they

  • shall take <G 5709> away <G 5709> his dominion <G 7985>, to

  • consume <G 8046> and to destroy <G 7> [it] unto the end <G 5491>.

  • 7:27 And the kingdom <G 4437> and dominion <G 7985>, and the

  • greatness <G 7238> of the kingdom <G 4437> under <G 8460> the

  • whole <G 3606> heaven <G 8065>, shall be given <G 3052> to the

  • people <G 5972> of the saints <G 6922> of the most <G 5945> High

  • <G 5946>, whose kingdom <G 4437> [is] an everlasting <G 5957>

  • kingdom <G 4437>, and all <G 3606> dominions <G 7985> shall

  • serve <G 6399> and obey <G 8086> him.

  • 7:28 Hitherto [is] the end <G 5491> of the matter <G 4406>. As

  • for me Daniel <G 1841>, my cogitations <G 7476> much <G 7690>

  • troubled <G 0927> me, and my countenance <G 2122> changed <G

  • 8133> in me: but I kept <G 5202> the matter <G 4406> in my heart

  • 8:1. In the third <G 7969> year <G 8141> of the reign <G 4438>

  • of king <G 4428> Belshazzar <G 1113> a vision <G 2377> appeared

  • <G 7200> unto me, [even unto] me Daniel <G 1840>, after <G 0310>

  • that which appeared <G 7200> unto me at the first <G 8462>.

  • 8:2 And I saw <G 7200> in a vision <G 2377>; and it came <G

  • 1961> to pass, when I saw <G 7200>, that I [was] at Shushan <G

  • 7800> [in] the palace <G 1002>, which <G 0834> [is] in the

  • province <G 4082> of Elam <G 5867>; and I saw <G 7200> in a

  • vision <G 2377>, and I was by the river <G 0180> of Ulai <G

  • 0195>.

  • 8:3 Then I lifted <G 5375> up mine eyes <G 5869>, and saw <G

  • 7200>, and, behold <G 2009>, there stood <G 5975> before <G

  • 6440> the river <G 0180> a ram <G 0352> which had [two] horns <G

  • 7161>: and the [two] horns <G 7161> [were] high <G 1364>; but

  • one <G 0259> [was] higher <G 1364> than <G 4480> the other <G

  • 8145>, and the higher <G 1364> came <G 5927> up last <G 0314>.

  • 8:4 I saw <G 7200> the ram <G 0352> pushing <G 5055> westward <G

  • 3220>, and northward <G 6828>, and southward <G 5045>; so that

  • no <G 3808> beasts <G 2416> might stand <G 5975> before <G 6440>

  • him, neither <G 0369> [was there any] that could deliver <G

  • 5337> out of his hand <G 3027>; but he did <G 6213> according to

  • his will <G 7522>, and became <G 1431> great <G 1431>.

  • 8:5 And as I was considering <G 0995>, behold <G 2009>, an he

  • goat <G 5795> came <G 0935> from the west <G 4628> on the face

  • <G 6440> of the whole <G 3605> earth <G 0776>, and touched <G

  • 5060> not the ground <G 0776>: and the goat <G 6842> [had] a

  • notable <G 2380> horn <G 7161> between <G 0996> his eyes <G

  • 5869>.

  • 8:6 And he came <G 0935> to the ram <G 0352> that had [two]

  • horns <G 7161>, which <G 0834> I had seen <G 7200> standing <G

  • 5975> before <G 6440> the river <G 0180>, and ran <G 7323> unto

  • him in the fury <G 2534> of his power <G 3581>.

  • 8:7 And I saw <G 7200> him come <G 5060> close <G 0681> unto the

  • ram <G 0352>, and he was moved with choler <G 4843> against <G

  • 0413> him, and smote <G 5221> the ram <G 0352>, and brake <G

  • 7665> his two <G 8147> horns <G 7161>: and there was no <G 3808>

  • power <G 3581> in the ram <G 0352> to stand <G 5975> before <G

  • 6440> him, but he cast <G 7993> him down to the ground <G 0776>,

  • and stamped <G 7429> upon him: and there was none <G 3808> that

  • could deliver <G 5337> the ram <G 0352> out of his hand <G 3027>.

  • 8:8 Therefore the he goat <G 6842> waxed very great <G 1431>:

  • and when he was strong <G 6105>, the great <G 1419> horn <G

  • 7161> was broken <G 7665>; and for it came <G 5927> up four <G

  • 0702> notable <G 2380> ones toward the four <G 0702> winds <G

  • 7307> of heaven <G 8064>.

  • 8:9 And out of one <G 0259> of them came <G 3318> forth <G 3318>

  • a little <G 4704> horn <G 7161>, which waxed exceeding <G 3499>

  • great <G 1431>, toward <G 0413> the south <G 5045>, and toward

  • <G 0413> the east <G 4217>, and toward <G 0413> the pleasant <G

  • 6643> [land].

  • 8:10 And it waxed great <G 1431>, [even] to the host <G 6635> of

  • heaven <G 8064>; and it cast <G 5307> down <G 5307> [some] of

  • the host <G 6635> and of the stars <G 3556> to the ground <G

  • 0776>, and stamped <G 7429> upon them.

  • 8:11 Yea, he magnified <G 1431> [himself] even to the prince <G

  • 8269> of the host <G 6635>, and by him the daily <G 8548>

  • [sacrifice] was taken <G 7311> away <G 7311>, and the place <G

  • 4349> of his sanctuary <G 4720> was cast <G 7993> down.

  • 8:12 And an host <G 6635> was given <G 5414> [him] against <G

  • 5921> the daily <G 8548> [sacrifice] by reason of transgression

  • <G 6588>, and it cast <G 7993> down the truth <G 0571> to the

  • ground <G 0776>; and it practised <G 6213>, and prospered <G

  • 6743>.

  • 8:13 Then I heard <G 8085> one <G 0259> saint <G 6918> speaking

  • <G 1696>, and another <G 0259> saint <G 6918> said <G 0559> unto

  • that certain <G 6422> [saint] which spake <G 1696>, How <G 5704>

  • long <G 5704> [shall be] the vision <G 2377> [concerning] the

  • daily <G 8548> [sacrifice], and the transgression <G 6588> of

  • desolation <G 8074>, to give <G 5414> both the sanctuary <G

  • 6944> and the host <G 6635> to be trodden <G 4823> under foot <G

  • 4823>?

  • 8:14 And he said <G 0559> unto me, Unto two thousand <G 0505>

  • and three <G 7969> hundred <G 3967> days; then shall the

  • sanctuary <G 6944> be cleansed <G 6663>.

  • 8:15. And it came <G 1961> to pass, when I, [even] I Daniel <G

  • 1840>, had seen <G 7200> the vision <G 2377>, and sought <G

  • 1245> for the meaning <G 0998>, then, behold <G 2009>, there

  • stood <G 5975> before <G 5048> me as the appearance <G 4758> of

  • a man <G 1397>.

  • 8:16 And I heard <G 8085> a man's <G 0120> voice <G 6963>

  • between <G 0996> [the banks of] Ulai <G 0195>, which called <G

  • 7121>, and said <G 0559>, Gabriel <G 1403>, make this <G 1975>

  • [man] to understand <G 0995> the vision <G 4758>.

  • 8:17 So he came <G 0935> near <G 0681> where I stood <G 5977>:

  • and when he came <G 0935>, I was afraid <G 1204>, and fell <G

  • 5307> upon my face <G 6440>: but he said <G 0559> unto me,

  • Understand <G 0995>, O son <G 1121> of man <G 0120>: for at the

  • time <G 6256> of the end <G 7093> [shall be] the vision <G 4758>.

  • 8:18 Now as he was speaking <G 1696> with me, I was in a deep <G

  • 7290> sleep <G 7290> on <G 5921> my face <G 6440> toward the

  • ground <G 0776>: but he touched <G 5060> me, and set <G 5975> me

  • upright <G 5977>.

  • 8:19 And he said <G 0559>, Behold <G 2005>, I will make thee

  • know <G 3045> what shall be in the last <G 0319> end of the

  • indignation <G 2195>: for at the time appointed <G 4150> the end

  • <G 7093> [shall be].

  • 8:20 The ram <G 0352> which <G 0834> thou sawest <G 7200> having

  • <G 1167> [two] horns <G 7161> [are] the kings <G 4428> of Media

  • <G 4074> and Persia <G 6539>.

  • 8:21 And the rough <G 8163> goat <G 6842> [is] the king <G 4428>

  • of Grecia <G 3120>: and the great <G 1419> horn <G 7161> that

  • [is] between <G 0996> his eyes <G 5869> [is] the first <G 7223>

  • king <G 4428>.

  • 8:22 Now that being broken <G 7665>, whereas four <G 0702> stood

  • <G 5975> up for it, four <G 0702> kingdoms <G 4438> shall stand

  • <G 5975> up out of the nation <G 1471>, but not in his power <G

  • 3581>.

  • 8:23 And in the latter <G 0319> time of their kingdom <G 4438>,

  • when the transgressors <G 6586> are come to the full <G 8552>, a

  • king <G 4428> of fierce <G 5794> countenance <G 6440>, and

  • understanding <G 0995> dark <G 2420> sentences <G 2420>, shall

  • stand <G 5975> up.

  • 8:24 And his power <G 3581> shall be mighty <G 6105>, but not by

  • his own power <G 3581>: and he shall destroy <G 7843>

  • wonderfully <G 6381>, and shall prosper <G 6743>, and practise

  • <G 6213>, and shall destroy <G 7843> the mighty <G 6099> and the

  • holy <G 6918> people <G 5971>.

  • 8:25 And through <G 5921> his policy <G 7922> also he shall

  • cause craft <G 4820> to prosper <G 6743> in his hand <G 3027>;

  • and he shall magnify <G 1431> [himself] in his heart <G 3824>,

  • and by peace <G 7962> shall destroy <G 7843> many <G 7227>: he

  • shall also stand <G 5975> up against <G 5921> the Prince <G

  • 8269> of princes <G 8269>; but he shall be broken <G 7665>

  • without <G 0657> hand <G 3027>.

  • 8:26 And the vision <G 4758> of the evening <G 6153> and the

  • morning <G 1242> which <G 0834> was told <G 0560> [is] true <G

  • 0571>: wherefore shut <G 5640> thou up the vision <G 2377>; for

  • it [shall be] for many <G 7227> days <G 3117>.

  • 8:27 And I Daniel <G 1840> fainted <G 1961>, and was sick <G

  • 2470> [certain] days <G 3117>; afterward I rose <G 6965> up, and

  • did <G 6213> the king's <G 4428> business <G 4399>; and I was

  • astonished <G 8074> at <G 5921> the vision <G 4758>, but none <G

  • 0369> understood <G 0995> [it].

  • ==== <DAN9> Daniel 9

  • 9:1. In the first <G 0259> year <G 8141> of Darius <G 1867> the

  • son <G 1121> of Ahasuerus <G 0325>, of the seed <G 2233> of the

  • Medes <G 4074>, which <G 0834> was made king <G 4427> over <G

  • 5921> the realm <G 4438> of the Chaldeans <G 3778>;

  • 9:2 In the first <G 0259> year <G 8141> of his reign <G 4427> I

  • Daniel <G 1840> understood <G 0995> by books <G 5612> the number

  • <G 4557> of the years <G 8141>, whereof <G 0834> the word <G

  • 1697> of the LORD <G 3068> came <G 1961> to Jeremiah <G 3414>

  • the prophet <G 5030>, that he would accomplish <G 4390> seventy

  • <G 7657> years <G 8141> in the desolations <G 2723> of Jerusalem

  • <G 3389>.

  • 9:3 And I set <G 5414> my face <G 6440> unto the Lord <G 0136>

  • God <G 0430>, to seek <G 1245> by prayer <G 8605> and

  • supplications <G 8469>, with fasting <G 6685>, and sackcloth <G

  • 8242>, and ashes <G 0665>:

  • 9:4. And I prayed <G 6419> unto the LORD <G 3068> my God <G

  • 0430>, and made my confession <G 3034>, and said <G 0559>, O

  • Lord <G 0136>, the great <G 1419> and dreadful <G 3372> God <G

  • 0410>, keeping <G 8104> the covenant <G 1285> and mercy <G 2617>

  • to them that love <G 0157> him, and to them that keep <G 8104>

  • his commandments <G 4687>;

  • 9:5 We have sinned <G 2398>, and have committed <G 5753>

  • iniquity <G 5753>, and have done wickedly <G 7561>, and have

  • rebelled <G 4775>, even by departing <G 5493> from thy precepts

  • <G 4687> and from thy judgments <G 4941>:

  • 9:6 Neither <G 3808> have we hearkened <G 8085> unto thy

  • servants <G 5650> the prophets <G 5030>, which <G 0834> spake <G

  • 1696> in thy name <G 8034> to our kings <G 4428>, our princes <G

  • 8269>, and our fathers <G 1>, and to all <G 3605> the people <G

  • 5971> of the land <G 0776>.

  • 9:7 O Lord <G 0136>, righteousness <G 6666> [belongeth] unto

  • thee, but unto us confusion <G 1322> of faces <G 6440>, as at

  • this <G 2088> day <G 3117>; to the men <G 0376> of Judah <G

  • 3063>, and to the inhabitants <G 3427> of Jerusalem <G 3389>,

  • and unto all <G 3605> Israel <G 3478>, [that are] near <G 7138>,

  • and [that are] far <G 7350> off, through all <G 3605> the

  • countries <G 0776> whither thou hast driven <G 5080> them,

  • because of their trespass <G 4604> that they have trespassed <G

  • 4603> against thee.

  • 9:8 O Lord <G 0136>, to us [belongeth] confusion <G 1322> of

  • face <G 6440>, to our kings <G 4428>, to our princes <G 8269>,

  • and to our fathers <G 1>, because <G 0834> we have sinned <G

  • 2398> against thee.

  • 9:9 To the Lord <G 0136> our God <G 0430> [belong] mercies <G

  • 7356> and forgivenesses <G 5547>, though <G 3588> we have

  • rebelled <G 4775> against him;

  • 9:10 Neither <G 3808> have we obeyed <G 8085> the voice <G 6963>

  • of the LORD <G 3068> our God <G 0430>, to walk <G 3212> in his

  • laws <G 8451>, which <G 0834> he set <G 5414> before <G 6440> us

  • by his servants <G 5650> the prophets <G 5030>.

  • 9:11 Yea, all <G 3605> Israel <G 3478> have transgressed <G

  • 5674> thy law <G 8451>, even by departing <G 5493>, that they

  • might not obey <G 8085> thy voice <G 6963>; therefore the curse

  • <G 0423> is poured <G 5413> upon us, and the oath <G 7621> that

  • [is] written <G 3789> in the law <G 8451> of Moses <G 4872> the

  • servant <G 5650> of God <G 0430>, because <G 3588> we have

  • sinned <G 2398> against him.

  • 9:12 And he hath confirmed <G 6965> his words <G 1697>, which <G

  • 0834> he spake <G 1696> against <G 5921> us, and against <G

  • 5921> our judges <G 8199> that judged <G 8199> us, by bringing

  • <G 0935> upon us a great <G 1419> evil <G 7451>: for under <G

  • 8478> the whole <G 3605> heaven <G 8064> hath not been done as

  • hath been done <G 6213> upon Jerusalem <G 3389>.

  • 9:13 As [it is] written <G 3789> in the law <G 8451> of Moses <G

  • 4872>, all <G 3605> this <G 2063> evil <G 7451> is come <G 0935>

  • upon us: yet made we not our prayer <G 2470> before the LORD <G

  • 3068> our God <G 0430>, that we might turn <G 7725> from our

  • iniquities <G 5771>, and understand <G 7919> thy truth <G 0571>.

  • 9:14 Therefore hath the LORD <G 3068> watched <G 8245> upon the

  • evil <G 7451>, and brought <G 0935> it upon us: for the LORD <G

  • 3068> our God <G 0430> [is] righteous <G 6662> in all <G 3605>

  • his works <G 4639> which <G 0834> he doeth <G 6213>: for we

  • obeyed <G 8085> not his voice <G 6963>.

  • 9:15 And now <G 6258>, O Lord <G 0136> our God <G 0430>, that

  • hast brought <G 3318> thy people <G 5971> forth <G 3318> out of

  • the land <G 0776> of Egypt <G 4714> with a mighty <G 2389> hand

  • <G 3027>, and hast gotten <G 6213> thee renown <G 8034>, as at

  • this day <G 3117>; we have sinned <G 2398>, we have done

  • wickedly <G 7561>.

  • 9:16 O Lord <G 0136>, according to all <G 3605> thy

  • righteousness <G 6666>, I beseech <G 4994> thee, let thine anger

  • <G 0639> and thy fury <G 2534> be turned <G 7725> away from thy

  • city <G 5892> Jerusalem <G 3389>, thy holy <G 6944> mountain <G

  • 2022>: because <G 3588> for our sins <G 2399>, and for the

  • iniquities <G 5771> of our fathers <G 1>, Jerusalem <G 3389> and

  • thy people <G 5971> [are become] a reproach <G 2781> to all <G

  • 3605> [that are] about <G 5439> us.

  • 9:17 Now <G 6258> therefore, O our God <G 0430>, hear <G 8085>

  • the prayer <G 8605> of thy servant <G 5650>, and his

  • supplications <G 8469>, and cause thy face <G 6440> to shine <G

  • 0215> upon thy sanctuary <G 4720> that is desolate <G 8074>, for

  • the Lord's <G 0136> sake <G 4616>.

  • 9:18 O my God <G 0430>, incline <G 5186> thine ear <G 0241>, and

  • hear <G 8085>; open <G 6491> thine eyes <G 5869>, and behold <G

  • 7200> our desolations <G 8074>, and the city <G 5892> which <G

  • 0834> is called <G 7121> by thy name <G 8034>: for we do not

  • present <G 5307> our supplications <G 8469> before <G 6440> thee

  • for our righteousnesses <G 6666>, but for thy great <G 7227>

  • mercies <G 7356>.

  • 9:19 O Lord <G 0136>, hear <G 8085>; O Lord <G 0136>, forgive <G

  • 5545>; O Lord <G 0136>, hearken <G 7181> and do <G 6213>; defer

  • <G 0309> not, for thine own sake <G 4616>, O my God <G 0430>:

  • for thy city <G 5892> and thy people <G 5971> are called <G

  • 7121> by thy name <G 8034>.

  • 9:20. And whiles <G 5750> I [was] speaking <G 1696>, and praying

  • <G 6419>, and confessing <G 3034> my sin <G 2403> and the sin <G

  • 2403> of my people <G 5971> Israel <G 3478>, and presenting <G

  • 5307> my supplication <G 8467> before <G 6440> the LORD <G 3068>

  • my God <G 0430> for the holy <G 6944> mountain <G 2022> of my

  • God <G 0430>;

  • 9:21 Yea, whiles I [was] speaking <G 1696> in prayer <G 8605>,

  • even the man <G 0376> Gabriel <G 1403>, whom <G 0834> I had seen

  • <G 7200> in the vision <G 2377> at the beginning <G 8462>, being

  • caused to fly <G 3286> swiftly <G 3288>, touched <G 5060> me

  • about the time <G 6256> of the evening <G 6153> oblation <G

  • 4503>.

  • 9:22 And he informed <G 0995> [me], and talked <G 1696> with me,

  • and said <G 0559>, O Daniel <G 1840>, I am now <G 6258> come <G

  • 3318> forth <G 3318> to give thee skill <G 7919> and

  • understanding <G 0998>.

  • 9:23 At the beginning <G 8462> of thy supplications <G 8469> the

  • commandment <G 1697> came <G 3318> forth <G 3318>, and I am come

  • <G 0935> to shew <G 5046> [thee]; for thou [art] greatly beloved

  • <G 2530>: therefore understand <G 0995> the matter <G 1697>, and

  • consider <G 0995> the vision <G 2377>.

  • 9:24 Seventy <G 7657> weeks <G 7620> are determined <G 2852>

  • upon thy people <G 5971> and upon thy holy <G 6944> city <G

  • 5892>, to finish <G 3607> the transgression <G 6588>, and to

  • make an end <G 2856> of sins <G 2403>, and to make

  • reconciliation <G 3722> for iniquity <G 5771>, and to bring <G

  • 0935> in everlasting <G 5769> righteousness <G 6664>, and to

  • seal <G 2856> up the vision <G 2377> and prophecy <G 5030>, and

  • to anoint <G 4886> the most <G 6944> Holy <G 6944>.

  • 9:25 Know <G 3045> therefore and understand <G 7919>, [that]

  • from the going <G 4161> forth <G 4161> of the commandment <G

  • 1697> to restore <G 7725> and to build <G 1129> Jerusalem <G

  • 3389> unto the Messiah <G 4899> the Prince <G 5057> [shall be]

  • seven <G 7651> weeks <G 7620>, and threescore <G 8346> and two

  • <G 8147> weeks <G 7620>: the street <G 7339> shall be built <G

  • 1129> again <G 7725>, and the wall <G 2742>, even in troublous

  • <G 5916> times <G 6256>.

  • 9:26 And after <G 0310> threescore <G 8346> and two <G 8147>

  • weeks <G 7620> shall Messiah <G 4899> be cut <G 3772> off, but

  • not for himself: and the people <G 5971> of the prince <G 5057>

  • that shall come <G 0935> shall destroy <G 7843> the city <G

  • 5892> and the sanctuary <G 6944>; and the end <G 7093> thereof

  • [shall be] with a flood <G 7858>, and unto the end <G 7093> of

  • the war <G 4421> desolations <G 8074> are determined <G 2782>.

  • 9:27 And he shall confirm <G 1396> the covenant <G 1285> with

  • many <G 7227> for one <G 0259> week <G 7620>: and in the midst

  • <G 2677> of the week <G 7620> he shall cause the sacrifice <G

  • 2077> and the oblation <G 4503> to cease <G 7673>, and for the

  • [it] desolate <G 8074>, even until <G 5704> the consummation <G

  • 3617>, and that determined <G 2782> shall be poured <G 5413>

  • upon the desolate <G 8076>.

  • ==== <DAN10> Daniel 10

  • 10:1. In the third <G 7969> year <G 8141> of Cyrus <G 3566> king

  • <G 4428> of Persia <G 6539> a thing <G 1697> was revealed <G

  • 1540> unto Daniel <G 1840>, whose <G 0834> name <G 8034> was

  • called <G 7121> Belteshazzar <G 1095>; and the thing <G 1697>

  • [was] true <G 0571>, but the time appointed <G 6635> [was] long

  • <G 1419>: and he understood <G 0995> the thing <G 1697>, and had

  • understanding <G 0998> of the vision <G 4758>.

  • 10:2 In those <G 1992> days <G 3117> I Daniel <G 1840> was

  • mourning <G 56> three <G 7969> full <G 3117> weeks <G 7620>.

  • 10:3 I ate <G 0398> no <G 3808> pleasant <G 2530> bread <G 3899>,

  • neither <G 3808> came <G 0935> flesh <G 1320> nor <G 3808> wine

  • <G 3196> in my mouth <G 6310>, neither <G 3808> did I anoint <G

  • 5480> myself at all, till <G 5704> three <G 7969> whole <G 3117>

  • weeks <G 7620> were fulfilled <G 4390>.

  • 10:4 And in the four <G 0702> and twentieth <G 6242> day <G

  • 3117> of the first <G 7223> month <G 2320>, as I was by the side

  • <G 3027> of the great <G 1419> river <G 5104>, which <G 1931>

  • [is] Hiddekel <G 2313>;

  • 10:5 Then I lifted <G 5375> up mine eyes <G 5869>, and looked <G

  • 7200>, and behold <G 2009> a certain <G 0259> man <G 0376>

  • clothed <G 3847> in linen <G 0906>, whose loins <G 4975> [were]

  • girded <G 2296> with fine gold <G 3800> of Uphaz <G 0210>:

  • 10:6 His body <G 1472> also [was] like the beryl <G 8658>, and

  • his face <G 6440> as the appearance <G 4758> of lightning <G

  • 1300>, and his eyes <G 5869> as lamps <G 3940> of fire <G 0784>,

  • and his arms <G 2220> and his feet <G 4772> like in colour <G

  • 5869> to polished <G 7044> brass <G 5178>, and the voice <G

  • 6963> of his words <G 1697> like the voice <G 6963> of a

  • multitude <G 1995>.

  • 10:7 And I Daniel <G 1840> alone <G 0905> saw <G 7200> the

  • vision <G 4759>: for the men <G 0582> that were with me saw <G

  • 7200> not the vision <G 4759>; but a great <G 1419> quaking <G

  • 2731> fell <G 5307> upon them, so that they fled <G 1272> to

  • hide <G 2244> themselves.

  • 10:8 Therefore I was left <G 7604> alone <G 0905>, and saw <G

  • 7200> this great <G 1419> vision <G 4759>, and there remained <G

  • 7604> no <G 3808> strength <G 3581> in me: for my comeliness <G

  • 1935> was turned <G 2015> in me into corruption <G 4889>, and I

  • retained <G 6113> no <G 3808> strength <G 3581>.

  • 10:9 Yet heard <G 8085> I the voice <G 6963> of his words <G

  • 1697>: and when I heard <G 8085> the voice <G 6963> of his words

  • <G 1697>, then was I in a deep <G 7290> sleep <G 7290> on my

  • face <G 6440>, and my face <G 6440> toward the ground <G 0776>.

  • 10:10. And, behold <G 2009>, an hand <G 3027> touched <G 5060>

  • me, which set <G 5128> me upon my knees <G 1290> and [upon] the

  • palms <G 3709> of my hands <G 3027>.

  • 10:11 And he said <G 0559> unto me, O Daniel <G 1840>, a man <G

  • 0376> greatly beloved <G 2530>, understand <G 0995> the words <G

  • 1697> that I speak <G 1696> unto thee, and stand <G 5975>

  • upright <G 5977>: for unto thee am I now <G 6258> sent <G 7971>.

  • And when he had spoken <G 1696> this <G 2088> word <G 1697> unto

  • me, I stood <G 5975> trembling <G 7460>.

  • 10:12 Then said <G 0559> he unto me, Fear <G 3372> not, Daniel

  • <G 1840>: for from the first <G 7223> day <G 3117> that thou

  • didst set <G 5414> thine heart <G 3820> to understand <G 0995>,

  • and to chasten <G 6031> thyself before <G 6440> thy God <G 0430>,

  • thy words <G 1697> were heard <G 8085>, and I am come <G 0935>

  • for thy words <G 1697>.

  • 10:13 But the prince <G 8269> of the kingdom <G 4438> of Persia

  • <G 6539> withstood <G 5975> me one <G 0259> and twenty <G 6242>

  • days <G 3117>: but, lo <G 2009>, Michael <G 4317>, one <G 0259>

  • of the chief <G 7223> princes <G 8269>, came <G 0935> to help <G

  • 5826> me; and I remained <G 3498> there <G 8033> with the kings

  • <G 4428> of Persia <G 6539>.

  • 10:14 Now I am come <G 0935> to make thee understand <G 0995>

  • what shall befall <G 7136> thy people <G 5971> in the latter <G

  • 0319> days <G 3117>: for yet <G 5750> the vision <G 2377> [is]

  • for [many] days <G 3117>.

  • 10:15 And when he had spoken <G 1696> such <G 0428> words <G

  • 1697> unto me, I set <G 5414> my face <G 6440> toward the ground

  • <G 0776>, and I became <G 0481> dumb <G 0481>.

  • 10:16 And, behold <G 2009>, [one] like the similitude <G 1823>

  • of the sons <G 1121> of men <G 0120> touched <G 5060> my lips <G

  • 8193>: then I opened <G 6605> my mouth <G 6310>, and spake <G

  • 1696>, and said <G 0559> unto him that stood <G 5975> before <G

  • 6440> me, O my lord <G 0113>, by the vision <G 4758> my sorrows

  • <G 6735> are turned <G 2015> upon me, and I have retained <G

  • 6113> no <G 3808> strength <G 3581>.

  • 10:17 For how <G 1963> can <G 3201> the servant <G 5650> of this

  • <G 2088> my lord <G 0113> talk <G 1696> with this <G 2088> my

  • lord <G 0113>? for as for me, straightway <G 6258> there

  • remained <G 5975> no <G 3808> strength <G 3581> in me, neither

  • <G 3808> is there breath <G 5397> left <G 7604> in me.

  • 10:18 Then there came again <G 3284> and touched <G 5060> me

  • [one] like the appearance <G 4758> of a man <G 0120>, and he

  • strengthened <G 2388> me,

  • 10:19 And said <G 0559>, O man <G 0376> greatly beloved <G 2530>,

  • fear <G 3372> not: peace <G 7965> [be] unto thee, be strong <G

  • 2388>, yea, be strong <G 2388>. And when he had spoken <G 1696>

  • unto me, I was strengthened <G 2388>, and said <G 0559>, Let my

  • lord <G 0113> speak <G 1696>; for thou hast strengthened <G

  • 2388> me.

  • 10:20 Then said <G 0559> he, Knowest <G 3045> thou wherefore <G

  • 4100> I come <G 0935> unto thee? and now <G 6258> will I return

  • <G 7725> to fight <G 3898> with the prince <G 8269> of Persia <G

  • 6539>: and when I am gone <G 3318> forth <G 3318>, lo <G 2009>,

  • the prince <G 8269> of Grecia <G 3120> shall come <G 0935>.

  • 10:21 But I will shew <G 5046> thee that which is noted <G 7559>

  • in the scripture <G 3791> of truth <G 0571>: and [there is] none

  • <G 0369> that holdeth <G 2388> with me in these <G 0428> things,

  • but Michael <G 4317> your prince <G 8269>.

  • ==== <DAN11> Daniel 11

  • 11:1. Also I in the first <G 0259> year <G 8141> of Darius <G

  • 1867> the Mede <G 4075>, [even] I, stood <G 5975> to confirm <G

  • 2388> and to strengthen <G 4581> him.

  • 11:2 And now <G 6258> will I shew <G 5046> thee the truth <G

  • 0571>. Behold <G 2009>, there shall stand <G 5975> up yet <G

  • 5750> three <G 7969> kings <G 4428> in Persia <G 6539>; and the

  • fourth <G 7243> shall be far <G 1419> richer <G 6238> than

  • [they] all <G 3605>: and by his strength <G 2394> through his

  • riches <G 6239> he shall stir <G 5782> up all <G 3605> against

  • the realm <G 4438> of Grecia <G 3120>.

  • 11:3 And a mighty <G 1368> king <G 4428> shall stand <G 5975> up,

  • that shall rule <G 4910> with great <G 7227> dominion <G 4474>,

  • and do <G 6213> according to his will <G 7522>.

  • 11:4 And when he shall stand <G 5975> up, his kingdom <G 4438>

  • shall be broken <G 7665>, and shall be divided <G 2673> toward

  • the four <G 0702> winds <G 7307> of heaven <G 8064>; and not to

  • his posterity <G 0319>, nor <G 3808> according to his dominion

  • <G 4915> which <G 0834> he ruled <G 4910>: for his kingdom <G

  • 4438> shall be plucked <G 5428> up, even for others <G 0312>

  • beside <G 0905> those <G 0428>.

  • 11:5. And the king <G 4428> of the south <G 5045> shall be

  • strong <G 2388>, and [one] of his princes <G 8269>; and he shall

  • be strong <G 2388> above <G 5921> him, and have dominion <G

  • 4910>; his dominion <G 4474> [shall be] a great <G 7227>

  • dominion <G 4474>.

  • 11:6 And in the end <G 7093> of years <G 8141> they shall join

  • <G 2266> themselves together; for the king's <G 4428> daughter

  • <G 1323> of the south <G 5045> shall come <G 0935> to the king

  • <G 4428> of the north <G 6828> to make <G 6213> an agreement <G

  • 4339>: but she shall not retain <G 6113> the power <G 3581> of

  • the arm <G 2220>; neither <G 3808> shall he stand <G 5975>, nor

  • his arm <G 2220>: but she shall be given <G 5414> up, and they

  • that brought <G 0935> her, and he that begat <G 3205> her, and

  • he that strengthened <G 2388> her in [these] times <G 6256>.

  • 11:7 But out of a branch <G 5342> of her roots <G 8328> shall

  • [one] stand <G 5975> up in his estate <G 3653>, which shall come

  • <G 0935> with an army <G 2428>, and shall enter <G 0935> into

  • the fortress <G 4581> of the king <G 4428> of the north <G 6828>,

  • and shall deal <G 6213> against them, and shall prevail <G

  • 2388>:

  • 11:8 And shall also <G 1571> carry <G 0935> captives <G 7628>

  • into Egypt <G 4714> their gods <G 0430>, with their princes <G

  • 5257>, [and] with their precious <G 2532> vessels <G 3627> of

  • silver <G 3701> and of gold <G 2091>; and he shall continue <G

  • 5975> [more] years <G 8141> than the king <G 4428> of the north

  • <G 6828>.

  • 11:9 So the king <G 4428> of the south <G 5045> shall come <G

  • 0935> into [his] kingdom <G 4438>, and shall return <G 7725>

  • into <G 0413> his own land <G 0127>.

  • 11:10 But his sons <G 1121> shall be stirred <G 1624> up, and

  • shall assemble <G 0622> a multitude <G 1995> of great <G 7227>

  • forces <G 2428>: and [one] shall certainly come <G 0935>, and

  • overflow <G 7857>, and pass <G 5674> through: then shall he

  • return <G 7725>, and be stirred <G 1624> up, [even] to his

  • fortress <G 4581>.

  • 11:11 And the king <G 4428> of the south <G 5045> shall be moved

  • with choler <G 4843>, and shall come <G 3318> forth <G 3318> and

  • fight <G 3898> with him, [even] with the king <G 4428> of the

  • north <G 6828>: and he shall set <G 5975> forth <G 5975> a great

  • <G 7227> multitude <G 1995>; but the multitude <G 1995> shall be

  • given <G 5414> into his hand <G 3027>.

  • 11:12 [And] when he hath taken <G 5375> away the multitude <G

  • 1995>, his heart <G 3824> shall be lifted <G 7311> up; and he

  • shall cast <G 5307> down <G 5307> [many] ten <G 7239> thousands

  • <G 7239>: but he shall not be strengthened <G 5810> [by it].

  • 11:13 For the king <G 4428> of the north <G 6828> shall return

  • <G 7725>, and shall set <G 5975> forth a multitude <G 1995>

  • greater <G 7227> than <G 4480> the former <G 7223>, and shall

  • certainly come <G 0935> after <G 7093> certain <G 6256> years <G

  • 8141> with a great <G 1419> army <G 2428> and with much riches

  • <G 7399>.

  • 11:14 And in those <G 1992> times <G 6256> there shall many <G

  • 7227> stand <G 5975> up against <G 5921> the king <G 4428> of

  • the south <G 5045>: also the robbers <G 6530> of thy people <G

  • 5971> shall exalt <G 5375> themselves to establish <G 5975> the

  • vision <G 2377>; but they shall fall <G 3782>.

  • 11:15 So the king <G 4428> of the north <G 6828> shall come <G

  • 0935>, and cast <G 8210> up a mount <G 5550>, and take <G 3920>

  • the most fenced <G 4013> cities <G 5892>: and the arms <G 2220>

  • of the south <G 5045> shall not withstand <G 5975>, neither <G

  • 0369> his chosen <G 4005> people <G 5971>, neither <G 0369>

  • [shall there be any] strength <G 3581> to withstand <G 5975>.

  • 11:16 But he that cometh <G 0935> against <G 0413> him shall do

  • <G 6213> according to his own <G 7522> will <G 7522>, and none

  • <G 0369> shall stand <G 5975> before <G 6440> him: and he shall

  • stand <G 5975> in the glorious <G 6643> land <G 0776>, which by

  • his hand <G 3027> shall be consumed <G 3615>.

  • 11:17 He shall also set <G 7760> his face <G 6440> to enter <G

  • 0935> with the strength <G 8633> of his whole <G 3605> kingdom

  • <G 4438>, and upright <G 3477> ones with him; thus shall he do

  • <G 6213>: and he shall give <G 5414> him the daughter <G 1323>

  • of women <G 0802>, corrupting <G 7843> her: but she shall not

  • stand <G 5975> [on his side], neither <G 3808> be for him.

  • 11:18 After this shall he turn <G 7725> his face <G 6440> unto

  • the isles <G 0339>, and shall take <G 3920> many <G 7227>: but a

  • prince <G 7101> for his own behalf shall cause the reproach <G

  • 2781> offered by him to cease <G 7673>; without <G 1115> his own

  • reproach <G 2781> he shall cause [it] to turn <G 7725> upon him.

  • 11:19 Then he shall turn <G 7725> his face <G 6440> toward the

  • fort <G 4581> of his own land <G 0776>: but he shall stumble <G

  • 3782> and fall <G 5307>, and not be found <G 4672>.

  • 11:20 Then shall stand <G 5975> up in his estate <G 3653> a

  • raiser <G 5674> of taxes <G 5065> [in] the glory <G 1925> of the

  • kingdom <G 4438>: but within few <G 0259> days <G 3117> he shall

  • be destroyed <G 7665>, neither <G 3808> in anger <G 0639>, nor

  • <G 3808> in battle <G 4421>.

  • 11:21. And in his estate <G 3653> shall stand <G 5975> up a vile

  • <G 0959> person, to whom <G 5921> they shall not give <G 5414>

  • the honour <G 1935> of the kingdom <G 4438>: but he shall come

  • <G 0935> in peaceably <G 7962>, and obtain <G 2388> the kingdom

  • <G 4438> by flatteries <G 2519>.

  • 11:22 And with the arms <G 2220> of a flood <G 7858> shall they

  • be overflown <G 7857> from before <G 6440> him, and shall be

  • broken <G 7665>; yea <G 1571>, also <G 1571> the prince <G 5057>

  • of the covenant <G 1285>.

  • 11:23 And after the league <G 2266> [made] with him he shall

  • work <G 6213> deceitfully <G 4820>: for he shall come <G 5927>

  • up, and shall become <G 6105> strong <G 6105> with a small <G

  • 4592> people <G 1471>.

  • 11:24 He shall enter <G 0935> peaceably <G 7962> even upon the

  • fattest <G 4924> places of the province <G 4082>; and he shall

  • do <G 6213> [that] which <G 0834> his fathers <G 1> have not

  • done <G 6213>, nor his fathers <G 1>' fathers <G 1>; he shall

  • scatter <G 0967> among them the prey <G 0961>, and spoil <G

  • 7998>, and riches <G 7399>: [yea], and he shall forecast <G

  • 2803> his devices <G 4284> against <G 5921> the strong <G 4013>

  • holds <G 4013>, even for a time <G 6256>.

  • 11:25 And he shall stir <G 5782> up his power <G 3581> and his

  • courage <G 3824> against <G 5921> the king <G 4428> of the south

  • <G 5045> with a great <G 1419> army <G 2428>; and the king <G

  • 4428> of the south <G 5045> shall be stirred <G 1624> up to

  • battle <G 4421> with a very great <G 1419> and mighty <G 6099>

  • army <G 2428>; but he shall not stand <G 5975>: for they shall

  • forecast <G 2803> devices <G 4284> against <G 5921> him.

  • 11:26 Yea, they that feed <G 0398> of the portion <G 6598> of

  • his meat <G 6598> shall destroy <G 7665> him, and his army <G

  • 2428> shall overflow <G 7857>: and many <G 7227> shall fall <G

  • 5307> down slain <G 2491>.

  • 11:27 And both <G 8147> these kings <G 4428>' hearts <G 3824>

  • [shall be] to do mischief <G 4827>, and they shall speak <G

  • 1696> lies <G 3576> at <G 5921> one <G 0259> table <G 7979>; but

  • it shall not prosper <G 6743>: for yet <G 5750> the end <G 7093>

  • [shall be] at the time appointed <G 4150>.

  • 11:28 Then shall he return <G 7725> into his land <G 0776> with

  • great <G 1419> riches <G 7399>; and his heart <G 3824> [shall

  • be] against <G 5921> the holy <G 6944> covenant <G 1285>; and he

  • shall do <G 6213> [exploits], and return <G 7725> to his own

  • land <G 0776>.

  • 11:29 At the time appointed <G 4150> he shall return <G 7725>,

  • and come <G 0935> toward the south <G 5045>; but it shall not be

  • as the former <G 7223>, or as the latter <G 0314>.

  • 11:30 For the ships <G 6716> of Chittim <G 3794> shall come <G

  • 0935> against him: therefore he shall be grieved <G 3512>, and

  • return <G 7725>, and have indignation <G 2194> against <G 5921>

  • the holy <G 6944> covenant <G 1285>: so shall he do <G 6213>; he

  • shall even return <G 7725>, and have intelligence <G 0995> with

  • them that forsake <G 5800> the holy <G 6944> covenant <G 1285>.

  • 11:31 And arms <G 2220> shall stand <G 5975> on his part <G

  • 2506>, and they shall pollute <G 2490> the sanctuary <G 4720> of

  • strength <G 4581>, and shall take <G 5493> away <G 5493> the

  • daily <G 8548> [sacrifice], and they shall place <G 5414> the

  • abomination <G 8251> that maketh desolate <G 8074>.

  • 11:32 And such as do wickedly <G 7561> against the covenant <G

  • 1285> shall he corrupt <G 2610> by flatteries <G 2514>: but the

  • people <G 5971> that do know <G 3045> their God <G 0430> shall

  • be strong <G 2388>, and do <G 6213> [exploits].

  • 11:33 And they that understand <G 7919> among the people <G

  • 5971> shall instruct <G 0995> many <G 7227>: yet they shall fall

  • <G 3782> by the sword <G 2719>, and by flame <G 3852>, by

  • captivity <G 7628>, and by spoil <G 0961>, [many] days <G 3117>.

  • 11:34 Now when they shall fall <G 3782>, they shall be holpen <G

  • 5826> with a little <G 4592> help <G 5828>: but many <G 7227>

  • shall cleave <G 3867> to them with flatteries <G 2519>.

  • 11:35 And [some] of them of understanding <G 7919> shall fall <G

  • 3782>, to try <G 6884> them, and to purge <G 1305>, and to make

  • [them] white <G 3835>, [even] to the time <G 6256> of the end <G

  • 7093>: because [it is] yet <G 5750> for a time appointed <G

  • 4150>.

  • 11:36 And the king <G 4428> shall do <G 6213> according to his

  • will <G 7522>; and he shall exalt <G 7311> himself, and magnify

  • <G 1431> himself above <G 5921> every <G 3605> god <G 0410>, and

  • shall speak <G 1696> marvellous <G 6381> things against <G 5921>

  • the God <G 0410> of gods <G 0410>, and shall prosper <G 6743>

  • till <G 5704> the indignation <G 2195> be accomplished <G 3615>:

  • for that that is determined <G 2782> shall be done <G 6213>.

  • 11:37 Neither <G 3808> shall he regard <G 0995> the God <G 0430>

  • of his fathers <G 1>, nor the desire <G 2532> of women <G 0802>,

  • nor <G 3808> regard <G 0995> any <G 3605> god <G 0433>: for he

  • shall magnify <G 1431> himself above <G 5921> all <G 3605>.

  • 11:38 But in his estate <G 3653> shall he honour <G 3513> the

  • God <G 0433> of forces <G 4581>: and a god <G 0433> whom <G

  • 0834> his fathers <G 1> knew <G 3045> not shall he honour <G

  • 3513> with gold <G 2091>, and silver <G 3701>, and with precious

  • <G 3368> stones <G 68>, and pleasant <G 2530> things.

  • 11:39 Thus shall he do <G 6213> in the most <G 4581> strong <G

  • 4581> holds <G 4013> with a strange <G 5236> god <G 0433>, whom

  • <G 0834> he shall acknowledge <G 5234> [and] increase <G 7235>

  • with glory <G 3519>: and he shall cause them to rule <G 4910>

  • over many <G 7227>, and shall divide <G 2505> the land <G 0127>

  • for gain <G 4242>.

  • 11:40 And at the time <G 6256> of the end <G 7093> shall the

  • king <G 4428> of the south <G 5045> push <G 5055> at him: and

  • the king <G 4428> of the north <G 6828> shall come <G 8175>

  • against <G 5921> him like a whirlwind <G 8175>, with chariots <G

  • 7393>, and with horsemen <G 6571>, and with many <G 7227> ships

  • <G 0591>; and he shall enter <G 0935> into the countries <G

  • 0776>, and shall overflow <G 7857> and pass <G 5674> over <G

  • 5674>.

  • 11:41 He shall enter <G 0935> also into the glorious <G 6643>

  • land <G 0776>, and many <G 7227> [countries] shall be overthrown

  • <G 3782>: but these <G 0428> shall escape <G 4422> out of his

  • hand <G 3027>, [even] Edom <G 0123>, and Moab <G 4124>, and the

  • chief <G 7225> of the children <G 1121> of Ammon <G 5983>.

  • 11:42 He shall stretch <G 7971> forth his hand <G 3027> also

  • upon the countries <G 0776>: and the land <G 0776> of Egypt <G

  • 4714> shall not escape <G 6413>.

  • 11:43 But he shall have power <G 4910> over the treasures <G

  • 4362> of gold <G 2091> and of silver <G 3701>, and over all <G

  • 3605> the precious <G 2530> things of Egypt <G 4714>: and the

  • Libyans <G 3864> and the Ethiopians <G 3569> [shall be] at his

  • steps <G 4703>.

  • 11:44 But tidings <G 8052> out of the east <G 4217> and out of

  • the north <G 6828> shall trouble <G 0926> him: therefore he

  • shall go <G 3318> forth <G 3318> with great <G 1419> fury <G

  • 2534> to destroy <G 8045>, and utterly to make away <G 2763>

  • many <G 7227>.

  • 11:45 And he shall plant <G 5193> the tabernacles <G 0168> of

  • his palace <G 0643> between <G 0996> the seas <G 3220> in the

  • glorious <G 6643> holy <G 6944> mountain <G 2022>; yet he shall

  • come <G 0935> to his end <G 7093>, and none <G 0369> shall help

  • <G 5826> him.

  • ==== <DAN12> Daniel 12

  • 12:1. And at that time <G 6256> shall Michael <G 4317> stand <G

  • 5975> up, the great <G 1419> prince <G 8269> which standeth <G

  • 5975> for the children <G 1121> of thy people <G 5971>: and

  • there shall be a time <G 6256> of trouble <G 6869>, such <G

  • 0834> as never <G 3808> was since there was a nation <G 1471>

  • [even] to that same <G 1931> time <G 6256>: and at that time <G

  • 6256> thy people <G 5971> shall be delivered <G 4422>, every <G

  • 3605> one that shall be found <G 4672> written <G 3789> in the

  • book <G 5612>.

  • 12:2 And many <G 7227> of them that sleep <G 3463> in the dust

  • <G 6083> of the earth <G 0127> shall awake <G 6974>, some <G

  • 0428> to everlasting <G 5769> life <G 2416>, and some <G 0428>

  • to shame <G 2781> [and] everlasting <G 5769> contempt <G 1860>.

  • 12:3 And they that be wise <G 7919> shall shine <G 2094> as the

  • brightness <G 2096> of the firmament <G 7549>; and they that

  • turn many <G 7227> to righteousness <G 6663> as the stars <G

  • 3556> for ever <G 5769> and ever <G 5703>.

  • 12:4 But thou, O Daniel <G 1840>, shut <G 5640> up the words <G

  • 1697>, and seal <G 2856> the book <G 5612>, [even] to the time

  • <G 6256> of the end <G 7093>: many <G 7227> shall run <G 7751>

  • to and fro <G 7751>, and knowledge <G 1847> shall be increased

  • <G 7235>.

  • 12:5. Then I Daniel <G 1840> looked <G 7200>, and, behold <G

  • 2009>, there stood <G 5975> other <G 0312> two <G 8147>, the one

  • <G 0259> on this <G 2008> side of the bank <G 8193> of the river

  • <G 2975>, and the other <G 0259> on that side of the bank <G

  • 8193> of the river <G 2975>.

  • 12:6 And [one] said <G 0559> to the man <G 0376> clothed <G

  • 3847> in linen <G 0906>, which <G 0834> [was] upon the waters <G

  • 4325> of the river <G 2975>, How <G 5704> long <G 5704> [shall

  • it be to] the end <G 7093> of these wonders <G 6382>?

  • 12:7 And I heard <G 8085> the man <G 0376> clothed <G 3847> in

  • linen <G 0906>, which <G 0834> [was] upon the waters <G 4325> of

  • the river <G 2975>, when he held <G 7311> up his right <G 3225>

  • hand <G 3225> and his left <G 8040> hand <G 8040> unto heaven <G

  • 8064>, and sware <G 7650> by him that liveth <G 2416> for ever

  • <G 5769> that [it shall be] for a time <G 4150>, times <G 4150>,

  • and an half <G 2677>; and when he shall have accomplished <G

  • 3615> to scatter <G 5310> the power <G 3027> of the holy <G

  • 6944> people <G 5971>, all <G 3605> these <G 0428> [things]

  • shall be finished <G 3615>.

  • 12:8 And I heard <G 8085>, but I understood <G 0995> not: then

  • said <G 0559> I, O my Lord <G 0113>, what <G 4100> [shall be]

  • the end <G 0319> of these <G 0428> [things]?

  • 12:9 And he said <G 0559>, Go <G 3212> thy way, Daniel <G 1840>:

  • for the words <G 1697> [are] closed <G 5640> up and sealed <G

  • 2856> till <G 5704> the time <G 6256> of the end <G 7093>.

  • 12:10 Many <G 7227> shall be purified <G 1305>, and made white

  • <G 3835>, and tried <G 6884>; but the wicked <G 7563> shall do

  • wickedly <G 7561>: and none <G 3808> of the wicked <G 7563>

  • shall understand <G 0995>; but the wise <G 7919> shall

  • understand <G 0995>.

  • 12:11 And from the time <G 6256> [that] the daily <G 8548>

  • [sacrifice] shall be taken <G 5493> away <G 5493>, and the

  • abomination <G 8251> that maketh desolate <G 8074> set <G 5414>

  • up, [there shall be] a thousand <G 0505> two hundred <G 3967>

  • and ninety <G 8673> days <G 3117>.

  • 12:12 Blessed <G 0835> [is] he that waiteth <G 2442>, and cometh

  • <G 5060> to the thousand <G 0505> three <G 7969> hundred <G

  • 3967> and five <G 2568> and thirty <G 7970> days <G 3117>.

  • 12:13 But go <G 3212> thou thy way <G 1870> till the end <G

  • 7093> [be]: for thou shalt rest <G 5117>, and stand <G 5975> in

  • thy lot <G 1486> at the end <G 7093> of the days <G 3117>.
