Daniel 10

10:1  In the third <G 7969> year <G 8141> of Cyrus <G 3566> king <G 4428>

of Persia <G 6539> a thing <G 1697> was revealed <G 1540> unto Daniel

<G 1840>, whose <G 0834> name <G 8034> was called <G 7121> Belteshazzar

<G 1095>; and the thing <G 1697> [was] true <G 0571>, but the time

appointed <G 6635> [was] long <G 1419>: and he understood <G 0995> the

thing <G 1697>, and had understanding <G 0998> of the vision <G 4758>.

10:2 In those <G 1992> days <G 3117> I Daniel <G 1840> was mourning

<G 56> three <G 7969> full <G 3117> weeks <G 7620>.

10:3 I ate <G 0398> no <G 3808> pleasant <G 2530> bread <G 3899>, neither

<G 3808> came <G 0935> flesh <G 1320> nor <G 3808> wine <G 3196> in my

mouth <G 6310>, neither <G 3808> did I anoint <G 5480> myself at all,

till <G 5704> three <G 7969> whole <G 3117> weeks <G 7620> were fulfilled

<G 4390>.

10:4 And in the four <G 0702> and twentieth <G 6242> day <G 3117> of

the first <G 7223> month <G 2320>, as I was by the side <G 3027> of the

great <G 1419> river <G 5104>, which <G 1931> [is] Hiddekel <G 2313>;

10:5 Then I lifted <G 5375> up mine eyes <G 5869>, and looked <G 7200>,

and behold <G 2009> a certain <G 0259> man <G 0376> clothed <G 3847> in

linen <G 0906>, whose loins <G 4975> [were] girded <G 2296> with fine

gold <G 3800> of Uphaz <G 0210>:

10:6 His body <G 1472> also [was] like the beryl <G 8658>, and his

face <G 6440> as the appearance <G 4758> of lightning <G 1300>, and his

eyes <G 5869> as lamps <G 3940> of fire <G 0784>, and his arms <G 2220>

and his feet <G 4772> like in colour <G 5869> to polished <G 7044>

brass <G 5178>, and the voice <G 6963> of his words <G 1697> like the

voice <G 6963> of a multitude <G 1995>.

10:7 And I Daniel <G 1840> alone <G 0905> saw <G 7200> the vision

<G 4759>: for the men <G 0582> that were with me saw <G 7200> not the

vision <G 4759>; but a great <G 1419> quaking <G 2731> fell <G 5307> upon

them, so that they fled <G 1272> to hide <G 2244> themselves.

10:8 Therefore I was left <G 7604> alone <G 0905>, and saw <G 7200>

this great <G 1419> vision <G 4759>, and there remained <G 7604> no

<G 3808> strength <G 3581> in me: for my comeliness <G 1935> was turned

<G 2015> in me into corruption <G 4889>, and I retained <G 6113> no

<G 3808> strength <G 3581>.

10:9 Yet heard <G 8085> I the voice <G 6963> of his words <G 1697>: and

when I heard <G 8085> the voice <G 6963> of his words <G 1697>, then

was I in a deep <G 7290> sleep <G 7290> on my face <G 6440>, and my

face <G 6440> toward the ground <G 0776>.

10:10  And, behold <G 2009>, an hand <G 3027> touched <G 5060> me,

which set <G 5128> me upon my knees <G 1290> and [upon] the palms

<G 3709> of my hands <G 3027>.

10:11 And he said <G 0559> unto me, O Daniel <G 1840>, a man <G 0376>

greatly beloved <G 2530>, understand <G 0995> the words <G 1697> that I

speak <G 1696> unto thee, and stand <G 5975> upright <G 5977>: for unto

thee am I now <G 6258> sent <G 7971>. And when he had spoken <G 1696>

this <G 2088> word <G 1697> unto me, I stood <G 5975> trembling <G 7460>.

10:12 Then said <G 0559> he unto me, Fear <G 3372> not, Daniel

<G 1840>: for from the first <G 7223> day <G 3117> that thou didst set

<G 5414> thine heart <G 3820> to understand <G 0995>, and to chasten

<G 6031> thyself before <G 6440> thy God <G 0430>, thy words <G 1697>

were heard <G 8085>, and I am come <G 0935> for thy words <G 1697>.

10:13 But the prince <G 8269> of the kingdom <G 4438> of Persia

<G 6539> withstood <G 5975> me one <G 0259> and twenty <G 6242> days

<G 3117>: but, lo <G 2009>, Michael <G 4317>, one <G 0259> of the chief

<G 7223> princes <G 8269>, came <G 0935> to help <G 5826> me; and I

remained <G 3498> there <G 8033> with the kings <G 4428> of Persia

<G 6539>.

10:14 Now I am come <G 0935> to make thee understand <G 0995> what

shall befall <G 7136> thy people <G 5971> in the latter <G 0319> days

<G 3117>: for yet <G 5750> the vision <G 2377> [is] for [many] days

<G 3117>.

10:15 And when he had spoken <G 1696> such <G 0428> words <G 1697> unto

me, I set <G 5414> my face <G 6440> toward the ground <G 0776>, and I

became <G 0481> dumb <G 0481>.

10:16 And, behold <G 2009>, [one] like the similitude <G 1823> of the

sons <G 1121> of men <G 0120> touched <G 5060> my lips <G 8193>: then I

opened <G 6605> my mouth <G 6310>, and spake <G 1696>, and said <G 0559>

unto him that stood <G 5975> before <G 6440> me, O my lord <G 0113>, by

the vision <G 4758> my sorrows <G 6735> are turned <G 2015> upon me,

and I have retained <G 6113> no <G 3808> strength <G 3581>.

10:17 For how <G 1963> can <G 3201> the servant <G 5650> of this <G 2088>

my lord <G 0113> talk <G 1696> with this <G 2088> my lord <G 0113>? for

as for me, straightway <G 6258> there remained <G 5975> no <G 3808>

strength <G 3581> in me, neither <G 3808> is there breath <G 5397> left

<G 7604> in me.

10:18 Then there came again <G 3284> and touched <G 5060> me [one]

like the appearance <G 4758> of a man <G 0120>, and he strengthened

<G 2388> me,

10:19 And said <G 0559>, O man <G 0376> greatly beloved <G 2530>, fear

<G 3372> not: peace <G 7965> [be] unto thee, be strong <G 2388>, yea,

be strong <G 2388>. And when he had spoken <G 1696> unto me, I was

strengthened <G 2388>, and said <G 0559>, Let my lord <G 0113> speak

<G 1696>; for thou hast strengthened <G 2388> me.

10:20 Then said <G 0559> he, Knowest <G 3045> thou wherefore <G 4100> I

come <G 0935> unto thee? and now <G 6258> will I return <G 7725> to

fight <G 3898> with the prince <G 8269> of Persia <G 6539>: and when I

am gone <G 3318> forth <G 3318>, lo <G 2009>, the prince <G 8269> of

Grecia <G 3120> shall come <G 0935>.

10:21 But I will shew <G 5046> thee that which is noted <G 7559> in

the scripture <G 3791> of truth <G 0571>: and [there is] none <G 0369>

that holdeth <G 2388> with me in these <G 0428> things, but Michael

<G 4317> your prince <G 8269>.
