9 The LORD <3068 Y@hovah > grant <5414 nathan > you that ye may

> [of you] in the house <1004 bayith > of her husband <0376

>iysh >. Then she kissed <5401 nashaq > them; and they lifted

And it came <1961 hayah > to pass, when they were come <0935

them, and they said <0559 >amar >, [Is] this <2063 zo>th > Naomi

20 And she said <0559 >amar > unto them, Call <7121 qara> > me

Mara> >: for the Almighty <7706 Shadday > hath dealt very <3966

Ruth 2

1. And Naomi <5281 No<omiy > had a kinsman <3045 yada< > of her

husband's <0376 >iysh >, a mighty <1368 gibbowr > man <0376

>iysh > of wealth <2428 chayil >, of the family <4940 mishpachah

> of Elimelech <0458 >Eliymelek >; and his name <8034 shem >

[was] Boaz <1162 Bo<az >.

2 And Ruth <7327 Ruwth > the Moabitess <4125 Mow>abiy > said

<0559 >amar > unto Naomi <5281 No<omiy >, Let me now <4994 na> >

go <3212 yalak > to the field <7704 sadeh >, and glean <3950

laqat > ears <7641 shibbol > of corn after <0310 >achar > [him]

in whose <0834 >aher > sight <5869 <ayin > I shall find <4672

matsa> > grace <2580 chen >. And she said <0559 >amar > unto her,

Go <3212 yalak >, my daughter <1323 bath >.

3 And she went <3212 yalak >, and came <0935 bow> >, and

gleaned <3950 laqat > in the field <7704 sadeh > after <0310

>achar > the reapers <7114 qatsar >: and her hap <4745 miqreh >

was to light <7136 qarah > on a part <2513 chelqah > of the

field <7704 sadeh > [belonging] unto Boaz <1162 Bo<az >, who

<0834 >aher > [was] of the kindred <4940 mishpachah > of

Elimelech <0458 >Eliymelek >.

4. And, behold <2009 hinneh >, Boaz <1162 Bo<az > came <0935

bow> > from Bethlehem <1035 Beyth Lechem >, and said <0559 >amar

> unto the reapers <7114 qatsar >, The LORD <3068 Y@hovah > [be]

with you. And they answered <0559 >amar > him, The LORD <3068

5 Then said <0559 >amar > Boaz <1162 Bo<az > unto his servant

<5288 na<ar > that was set <5324 natsab > over <5921 <al > the

reapers <7114 qatsar >, Whose <4310 miy > damsel <5291 na<arah >

[is] this <2063 zo>th >?

6 And the servant <5288 na<ar > that was set <5324 natsab >

over <5921 <al > the reapers <7114 qatsar > answered <6030 <anah

> and said <0559 >amar >, It [is] the Moabitish <4125 Mow>abiy >

damsel <5291 na<arah > that came <7725 shuwb > back <7725 shuwb

7 And she said <0559 >amar >, I pray <4994 na> > you, let me

glean <3950 laqat > and gather <0622 >acaph > after <0310 >achar

Ruwth >, Hearest <8085 shama< > thou not, my daughter <1323 bath

>? Go <3212 yalak > not to glean <3950 laqat > in another <0312

>acher > field <7704 sadeh >, neither go <5674 <abar > from

hence <2088 zeh >, but abide <1692 dabaq > here <3541 koh > fast

by my maidens <5291 na<arah >:

9 [Let] thine eyes <5869 <ayin > [be] on the field <7704 sadeh

> that they do reap <7114 qatsar >, and go <1980 halak > thou

after <0310 >achar > them: have I not charged <6680 tsavah > the

young <5288 na<ar > men that they shall not touch <5060 naga< >

thee? and when thou art athirst <6770 tsame> >, go <1980 halak >

unto the vessels <3627 k@liy >, and drink <8354 shathah > of

10 Then she fell <5307 naphal > on <5921 <al > her face <6440

paniym >, and bowed <7812 shachah > herself to the ground <0776

>erets >, and said <0559 >amar > unto him, Why <4069 madduwa< >

have I found <4672 matsa> > grace <2580 chen > in thine eyes

<5869 <ayin >, that thou shouldest take knowledge <5234 nakar >

of me, seeing I [am] a stranger <5237 nokriy >?

11 And Boaz <1162 Bo<az > answered <6030 <anah > and said <0559

>amar > unto her, It hath fully <5046 nagad > been shewed <5046

12 The LORD <3068 Y@hovah > recompense <7999 shalam > thy work

<6467 po<al >, and a full <8003 shalem > reward <4909 maskoreth

> be given thee of the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > God <0430 >elohiym >

of Israel <3478 Yisra>el >, under <8478 tachath > whose <0834

>aher > wings <3671 kanaph > thou art come <0935 bow> > to trust

13 Then she said <0559 >amar >, Let me find <4672 matsa> >

favour <2580 chen > in thy sight <5869 <ayin >, my lord <3068

Y@hovah >; for that thou hast comforted <5162 nacham > me, and

for that thou hast spoken <1696 dabar > friendly <3820 leb >

unto thine handmaid <8198 shiphchah >, though I be not like unto

one <0259 >echad > of thine handmaidens <8198 shiphchah >.

14 And Boaz <1162 Bo<az > said <0559 >amar > unto her, At

mealtime come <5060 naga< > thou hither <1988 halom >, and eat

<0398 >akal > of the bread <3899 lechem >, and dip <2881 tabal >

thy morsel <6595 path > in the vinegar <2558 chomets >. And she

sat <3427 yashab > beside <6654 tsad > the reapers <7114 qatsar

>: and he reached <6642 tsabat > her parched <7039 qaliy >

[corn], and she did eat <0398 >akal >, and was sufficed <7646

saba< >, and left <3498 yathar >.

15 And when she was risen <6965 quwm > up to glean <3950 laqat

>, Boaz <1162 Bo<az > commanded <6680 tsavah > his young <5288

na<ar > men, saying <0559 >amar >, Let her glean <3950 laqat >

even <1571 gam > among the sheaves <6016 <omer >, and reproach

<3637 kalam > her not:

16 And let fall <7997 shalal > also <1571 gam > [some] of the

handfuls <6653 tsebeth > of purpose <7997 shalal > for her, and

leave <5800 <azab > [them], that she may glean <3950 laqat >

[them], and rebuke <1605 ga<ar > her not.

17. So she gleaned <3950 laqat > in the field <7704 sadeh >

until <5704 <ad > even <6153 <ereb >, and beat <2251 chabat >

out that she had gleaned <3950 laqat >: and it was about an

ephah <0374 >eyphah > of barley <8184 s@<orah >.

18 And she took <5375 nasa> > [it] up, and went <0935 bow> >

into the city <5892 <iyr >: and her mother <2545 chamowth > in

law <2545 chamowth > saw <7200 ra>ah > what she had gleaned

<3950 laqat >: and she brought <3318 yatsa> > forth <3318 yatsa>

>, and gave <5414 nathan > to her that she had reserved <3498

yathar > after she was sufficed <7648 soba< >.

19 And her mother <2545 chamowth > in law <2545 chamowth > said

<0559 >amar > unto her, Where <0645 >ephow > hast thou gleaned

wroughtest <6213 <asah > thou? blessed <1288 barak > be he that

20 And Naomi <5281 No<omiy > said <0559 >amar > unto her

daughter <3618 kallah > in law <3618 kallah >, Blessed <1288

barak > [be] he of the LORD <3068 Y@hovah >, who <0834 >aher >

hath not left <5800 <azab > off his kindness <2617 checed > to

the living <2416 chay > and to the dead <4191 muwth >. And Naomi

<5281 No<omiy > said <0559 >amar > unto her, The man <0376 >iysh

> [is] near <7138 qarowb > of kin unto us, one of our next

21 And Ruth <7327 Ruwth > the Moabitess <4125 Mow>abiy > said

<0559 >amar >, He said <0559 >amar > unto me also, Thou shalt

keep <1692 dabaq > fast by my young <5288 na<ar > men, until

they have ended <3615 kalah > all <3605 kol > my harvest <7105

22 And Naomi <5281 No<omiy > said <0559 >amar > unto Ruth <7327

Ruwth > her daughter <1323 bath > in law <3618 kallah >, [It is]

Ruth 3

1. Then Naomi <5281 No<omiy > her mother <2545 chamowth > in

law <2545 chamowth > said <0559 >amar > unto her, My daughter

<1323 bath >, shall I not seek <1245 baqash > rest <4494

manowach > for thee, that it may be well <3190 yatab > with thee?

2 And now <6258 <attah > [is] not Boaz <1162 Bo<az > of our

kindred <4130 mowda<ath >, with whose <0834 >aher > maidens

<5291 na<arah > thou wast? Behold <2009 hinneh >, he winnoweth

3 Wash <7364 rachats > thyself therefore, and anoint <5480 cuwk

6. And she went <3381 yarad > down <3381 yarad > unto the floor

8 And it came <1961 hayah > to pass at midnight, that the man

laphath > himself: and, behold <2009 hinneh >, a woman <0802

>ishshah > lay <7901 shakab > at his feet <4772 marg@lah >.

9 And he said <0559 >amar >, Who <4310 miy > [art] thou? And

she answered <0559 >amar >, I [am] Ruth <7327 Ruwth > thine

handmaid <0519 >amah >: spread <6566 paras > therefore thy skirt

for thou [art] a near kinsman <1350 ga>al >.

10 And he said <0559 >amar >, Blessed <1288 barak > [be] thou

of the LORD <3068 Y@hovah >, my daughter <1323 bath >: [for]

thou hast shewed <3190 yatab > more kindness <2617 checed > in

the latter <0314 >acharown > end than <4480 min > at the

beginning <7223 ri>shown >, inasmuch <1115 biltiy > as thou

followedst not young <0970 bachuwr > men, whether <0518 >im >

11 And now <6258 <attah >, my daughter <1323 bath >, fear <3372

yare> > not; I will do <6213 <asah > to thee all <3605 kol >

that thou requirest <0559 >amar >: for all <3605 kol > the city

thy] near kinsman <1350 ga>al >: howbeit there is a kinsman

<1350 ga>al > nearer <7138 qarowb > than I.

13 Tarry <3885 luwn > this night <3915 layil >, and it shall be

in the morning <1242 boqer >, [that] if <0518 >im > he will

perform unto thee the part of a kinsman <1350 ga>al >, well

<2896 towb >; let him do the kinsman's <1350 ga>al > part: but

>achaz > it. And when she held <0270 >achaz > it, he measured
