:13 And he was there <1563-ekei-> in the wilderness <2048-eremos-> forty <5062-tessarakonta-> days <2250-hemera->, tempted <3985-peirazo-> of Satan <4567-Satanas->; and was with the wild <2342-therion-> beasts <2342-therion->; and the angels <0032-aggelos-> ministered <1247-diakoneo-> unto him.

:16 Now as he walked <4043-peripateo-> by the sea <2281-thalassa-> of Galilee <1056-Galilaia->, he saw <1492-eido-> Simon <4613-Simon-> and Andrew <0406-Andreas-> his brother <0080-adephos-> casting <0906-ballo-> a net <0293-amphiblestron-> into <1722-en-> the sea <2281-thalassa->: for they were fishers <0231-halieus->.

:17 And Jesus <2424-Iesous-> said <2036-epo-> unto them, Come <1205-deute-> ye after <3694-opiso-> me, and I will make <4160-poieo-> you to become <1096-ginomai-> fishers <0231-halieus-> of men <0444-anthropos->.

:18 And straightway <2112-eutheos-> they forsook <0863-aphiemi-> their nets <1350-diktuon->, and followed <0190-akoloutheo-> him.

:19 And when he had gone <4260-probaino-> a little <3641-oligos-> further <4260-probaino-> thence <1564-ekeithen->, he saw <1492-eido-> James <2385-Iakobos-> the [son] of Zebedee <2199-Zebedaios->, and John <2491-Ioannes-> his brother <0080-adephos->, who <0841-autarkeia-> also <2532-kai-> were in the ship <4143-ploion-> mending <2675-katartizo-> their nets <1350-diktuon->.

:21 And they went <1531-eisporeuomai-> into <1519-eis-> Capernaum <2584-Kapernaoum->; and straightway <2112-eutheos-> on the sabbath <4521-sabbaton-> day he entered <1525-eiserchomai-> into <1519-eis-> the synagogue <4864-sunagoge->, and taught <1321-didasko->.

:22 And they were astonished <1605-ekplesso-> at <1909-epi-> his doctrine <1322-didache->: for he taught <1321-didasko-> them as one that had <2192-echo-> authority <1849-exousia->, and not as the scribes <1122-grammateus->.

:23. And there was in their synagogue <4864-sunagoge-> a man <0444-anthropos-> with an unclean <0169-akathartos-> spirit <4151-pneuma->; and he cried <0349-anakrazo-> out,

:24 Saying <3004-lego->, Let <1439-eao-> [us] alone <1439-eao->; what <5101-tis-> have we to do with thee, thou Jesus <2424-Iesous-> of Nazareth <3478-Nazareth->? art thou come <2064-erchomai-> to destroy <0622-apollumi-> us? I know <1492-eido-> thee who <5101-tis-> thou art <1488-ei->, the Holy <0040-hagios-> One of God <2316-theos->.

:25 And Jesus <2424-Iesous-> rebuked <2008-epitimao-> him, saying <3004-lego->, Hold <5392-phimoo-> thy peace <5392-phimoo->, and come <1831-exerchomai-> out of him.

:26 And when the unclean <0169-akathartos-> spirit <4151-pneuma-> had torn <4682-sparasso-> him, and cried <2896-krazo-> with a loud <3173-megas-> voice <5456-phone->, he came <1831-exerchomai-> out of him.

:27 And they were all <3956-pas-> amazed <2284-thambeo->, insomuch <5620-hoste-> that they questioned <4802-suzeteo-> among <4314-pros-> themselves <0848-hautou->, saying <3004-lego->, What <5101-tis-> thing is this <3778-houtos->? what <5101-tis-> new <2537-kainos-> doctrine <1322-didache-> [is] this <5124-touto->? for with authority <1849-exousia-> commandeth <2004-epitasso-> he even <2532-kai-> the unclean <0169-akathartos-> spirits <4151-pneuma->, and they do obey <5219-hupakouo-> him.

:28 And immediately <2117-euthus-> his fame <0189-akoe-> spread <1831-exerchomai-> abroad <1831-exerchomai-> throughout <1519-eis-> all <3650-holos-> the region <4066-perichoros-> round <4066-perichoros-> about <4066-perichoros-> Galilee <1056-Galilaia->.

:29. And forthwith <2112-eutheos->, when they were come <1831-exerchomai-> out of the synagogue <4864-sunagoge->, they entered <2064-erchomai-> into <1519-eis-> the house <3614-oikia-> of Simon <4613-Simon-> and Andrew <0406-Andreas->, with James <2385-Iakobos-> and John <2491-Ioannes->.

:30 But Simon's <4613-Simon-> wife's <3994-penthera-> mother <3994-penthera-> lay <2621-katakeimai-> sick <4445-puresso-> of a fever <4445-puresso->, and anon <2112-eutheos-> they tell <3004-lego-> him of her.

:31 And he came <4334-proserchomai-> and took <2902-krateo-> her by the hand <5495-cheir->, and lifted <1453-egeiro-> her up; and immediately <2112-eutheos-> the fever <4446-puretos-> left <0863-aphiemi-> her, and she ministered <1247-diakoneo-> unto them.

:32 And at even <1096-ginomai->, when <3753-hote-> the sun <2246-helios-> did set <1416-duno->, they brought <5342-phero-> unto him all <3956-pas-> that were diseased <2192-echo->, and them that were possessed <1139-daimonizomai-> with devils <1139-daimonizomai->.

:33 And all <3650-holos-> the city <4172-polis-> was gathered <1996-episunago-> together <1996-episunago-> at <4314-pros-> the door <2374-thura->.

:34 And he healed <2323-therapeuo-> many <4183-polus-> that were sick <2560-kakos-> of divers <4164-poikilos-> diseases <3554-nosos->, and cast <1544-ekballo-> out many <4183-polus-> devils <1140-daimonion->; and suffered <0863-aphiemi-> not the devils <1140-daimonion-> to speak <2980-laleo->, because <3754-hoti-> they knew <1492-eido-> him.

:35 And in the morning <4404-proi->, rising <0450-anistemi-> up a great <3029-lian-> while before <1773-ennuchon-> day <1773-ennuchon->, he went <1831-exerchomai-> out, and departed <0565-aperchomai-> into <1519-eis-> a solitary <2048-eremos-> place <5117-topos->, and there <1563-ekei-> prayed <4336-proseuchomai->.

:36 And Simon <4613-Simon-> and they that were with him followed <2614-katadioko-> after <2614-katadioko-> him.

:37 And when they had found <2147-heurisko-> him, they said <3004-lego-> unto him, All <3956-pas-> [men] seek <2212-zeteo-> for thee.

:38 And he said <3004-lego-> unto them, Let us go <0071-ago-> into <1519-eis-> the next <2192-echo-> towns <2969-komopolis->, that I may preach <2784-kerusso-> there <1563-ekei-> also <2546-kakei->: for therefore <5124-touto-> came <1831-exerchomai-> I forth <1831-exerchomai->.

:39 And he preached <2784-kerusso-> in their synagogues <4864-sunagoge-> throughout <1519-eis-> all <3650-holos-> Galilee <1056-Galilaia->, and cast <1544-ekballo-> out devils <1140-daimonion->.

:40. And there came <2064-erchomai-> a leper <3015-lepros-> to him, beseeching <3870-parakaleo-> him, and kneeling <1120-gonupeteo-> down to him, and saying <3004-lego-> unto him, If <1437-ean-> thou wilt <2309-thelo->, thou canst <1410-dunamai-> make <2511-katharizo-> me clean <2511-katharizo->.

:41 And Jesus <2424-Iesous->, moved <4697-splagchnizomai-> with compassion <4697-splagchnizomai->, put <1614-ekteino-> forth <1614-ekteino-> [his] hand <5495-cheir->, and touched <0680-haptomai-> him, and saith <3004-lego-> unto him, I will <2309-thelo->; be thou clean <2511-katharizo->.

:42 And as soon as he had spoken <2036-epo->, immediately <2112-eutheos-> the leprosy <3014-lepra-> departed <0565-aperchomai-> from him, and he was cleansed <2511-katharizo->.

:43 And he straitly charged <1690-embrimaomai-> him, and forthwith <2112-eutheos-> sent <1544-ekballo-> him away <1544-ekballo->;

:44 And saith <3004-lego-> unto him, See <3708-horao-> thou say <2036-epo-> nothing <3367-medeis-> to any <3367-medeis-> man <3367-medeis->: but go <5217-hupago-> thy way, shew <1166-deiknuo-> thyself <4572-seautou-> to the priest <2409-hiereus->, and offer <4374-prosphero-> for thy cleansing <2512-katharismos-> those things which <3739-hos-> Moses <3475-Moseus-> commanded <4367-prostasso->, for a testimony <3142-marturion-> unto them.

:45 But he went <1831-exerchomai-> out, and began <0756-archomai-> to publish <2784-kerusso-> [it] much <4183-polus->, and to blaze <1310-diaphemizo-> abroad <1310-diaphemizo-> the matter <3056-logos->, insomuch <5620-hoste-> that Jesus <2424-Iesous-> could <1410-dunamai-> no <3371-meketi-> more <3371-meketi-> openly <5320-phaneros-> enter <1525-eiserchomai-> into <1519-eis-> the city <4172-polis->, but was without <1854-exo-> in desert <2048-eremos-> places <5117-topos->: and they came <2064-erchomai-> to him from every <3836-pantachothen-> quarter <3836-pantachothen->.

:1. And again <3825-palin-> he entered <1525-eiserchomai-> into <1519-eis-> Capernaum <2584-Kapernaoum-> after <1223-dia-> [some] days <2250-hemera->; and it was noised <0191-akouo-> that he was in the house <3624-oikos->.

:2 And straightway <2112-eutheos-> many <4183-polus-> were gathered <4863-sunago-> together <4863-sunago->, insomuch <5620-hoste-> that there was no <3371-meketi-> room <5562-choreo-> to receive <5562-choreo-> [them], no, not so <3366-mede-> much <3366-mede-> as about <4314-pros-> the door <2374-thura->: and he preached <2980-laleo-> the word <3056-logos-> unto them.

:3 And they come <2064-erchomai-> unto him, bringing <5342-phero-> one sick <3885-paralutikos-> of the palsy <3885-paralutikos->, which was borne <0142-airo-> of four <5064-tessares->.

:4 And when they could <1410-dunamai-> not come <4331-proseggizo-> nigh unto him for the press <3793-ochlos->, they uncovered <0648-apostegazo-> the roof <4721-stege-> where <3699-hopou-> he was: and when they had broken <1846-exorusso-> [it] up, they let <5465-chalao-> down <5465-chalao-> the bed <2895-krabbatos-> wherein <3739-hos-> the sick <3885-paralutikos-> of the palsy <3885-paralutikos-> lay <2621-katakeimai->.

:5 When Jesus <2424-Iesous-> saw <1492-eido-> their faith <4102-pistis->, he said <3004-lego-> unto the sick <3885-paralutikos-> of the palsy <3885-paralutikos->, Son <5043-teknon->, thy sins <0266-hamartia-> be forgiven <0863-aphiemi-> thee.

:6 But there were certain <5100-tis-> of the scribes <1122-grammateus-> sitting <2521-kathemai-> there <1563-ekei->, and reasoning <1260-dialogizomai-> in their hearts <2588-kardia->,

:7 Why <5101-tis-> doth this <3778-houtos-> [man] thus <3779-houto-> speak <2980-laleo-> blasphemies <0988-blasphemia->? who <5101-tis-> can <1410-dunamai-> forgive <0863-aphiemi-> sins <0266-hamartia-> but God <2316-theos-> only <1520-heis->?

:8 And immediately <2112-eutheos-> when Jesus <2424-Iesous-> perceived <1921-epiginosko-> in his spirit <4151-pneuma-> that they so <3779-houto-> reasoned <1260-dialogizomai-> within <1722-en-> themselves <1438-heautou->, he said <2036-epo-> unto them, Why <5101-tis-> reason <1260-dialogizomai-> ye these <5023-tauta-> things in your <5216-humon-> hearts <2588-kardia->?

:9 Whether <5101-tis-> is it easier <2123-eukopoteros-> to say <2036-epo-> to the sick <3885-paralutikos-> of the palsy <3885-paralutikos->, [Thy] sins <0266-hamartia-> be forgiven <0863-aphiemi-> thee; or <2228-e-> to say <2036-epo->, Arise <1453-egeiro->, and take <0142-airo-> up thy bed <2895-krabbatos->, and walk <4043-peripateo->?

:10 But that ye may know <1492-eido-> that the Son <5207-huios-> of man <0444-anthropos-> hath <2192-echo-> power <1849-exousia-> on <1909-epi-> earth <1093-ge-> to forgive <0863-aphiemi-> sins <0266-hamartia->, (he saith <3004-lego-> to the sick <3885-paralutikos-> of the palsy <3885-paralutikos->,)

:11 I say <3004-lego-> unto thee, Arise <1453-egeiro->, and take <0142-airo-> up thy bed <2895-krabbatos->, and go <5217-hupago-> thy way into <1519-eis-> thine <4675-sou-> house <3624-oikos->.

:12 And immediately <2112-eutheos-> he arose <1453-egeiro->, took <0142-airo-> up the bed <2895-krabbatos->, and went <1831-exerchomai-> forth <1831-exerchomai-> before <1726-enantion-> them all <3956-pas->; insomuch <5620-hoste-> that they were all <3956-pas-> amazed <1839-existemi->, and glorified <1392-doxazo-> God <2316-theos->, saying <3004-lego->, We never <3763-oudepote-> saw <1492-eido-> it on this <3779-houto-> fashion <3778-houtos->.

:13. And he went <1831-exerchomai-> forth <1831-exerchomai-> again <3825-palin-> by the sea <2281-thalassa-> side <3844-para->; and all <3956-pas-> the multitude <3793-ochlos-> resorted <2064-erchomai-> unto him, and he taught <1321-didasko-> them.

:14 And as he passed <3855-parago-> by, he saw <1492-eido-> Levi <3018-Leuis-> the [son] of Alphaeus <0256-Alphaios-> sitting <2521-kathemai-> at <1909-epi-> the receipt <5058-telonion-> of custom <5058-telonion->, and said <3004-lego-> unto him, Follow <0190-akoloutheo-> me. And he arose <0450-anistemi-> and followed <0190-akoloutheo-> him.

:15 And it came <1096-ginomai-> to pass, that, as Jesus <2424-Iesous-> sat <2621-katakeimai-> at <2621-katakeimai-> meat in his house <3614-oikia->, many <4183-polus-> publicans <5052-telesphoreo-> and sinners <0268-hamartolos-> sat <4873-sunanakeimai-> also <2532-kai-> together <4873-sunanakeimai-> with Jesus <2424-Iesous-> and his disciples <3101-mathetes->: for there were many <4183-polus->, and they followed <0190-akoloutheo-> him.

:16 And when the scribes <1122-grammateus-> and Pharisees <5330-Pharisaios-> saw <1492-eido-> him eat <2068-esthio-> with publicans <5052-telesphoreo-> and sinners <0268-hamartolos->, they said <3004-lego-> unto his disciples <3101-mathetes->, How <5101-tis-> is it that he eateth <2068-esthio-> and drinketh <4095-pino-> with publicans <5052-telesphoreo-> and sinners <0268-hamartolos->?

:17 When Jesus <2424-Iesous-> heard <0191-akouo-> [it], he saith <3004-lego-> unto them, They that are whole <2480-ischuo-> have <2192-echo-> no <3756-ou-> need <5532-chreia-> of the physician <2395-iatros->, but they that are sick <2560-kakos->: I came <2064-erchomai-> not to call <2564-kaleo-> the righteous <1342-dikaios->, but sinners <0268-hamartolos-> to repentance <3341-metanoia->.

And the disciples <3101-mathetes-> of John <2491-Ioannes-> and of the Pharisees <5330-Pharisaios-> used <1510-eimi-> to fast <3522-nesteuo->: and they come <2064-erchomai-> and say <3004-lego-> unto him, Why <1302-diati-> do the disciples <3101-mathetes-> of John <2491-Ioannes-> and of the Pharisees <5330-Pharisaios-> fast <3522-nesteuo->, but thy disciples <3101-mathetes-> fast <3522-nesteuo-> not?

:19 And Jesus <2424-Iesous-> said <2036-epo-> unto them, Can <1410-dunamai-> the children <5207-huios-> of the bridechamber <3567-numphon-> fast <3522-nesteuo->, while <3739-hos-> the bridegroom <3566-numphios-> is with them? as long <5550-chronos-> as they have <2192-echo-> the bridegroom <3566-numphios-> with them, they cannot <1410-dunamai-> fast <3522-nesteuo->.

:20 But the days <2250-hemera-> will come <2064-erchomai->, when <3752-hotan-> the bridegroom <3566-numphios-> shall be taken <0522-apairo-> away <0522-apairo-> from them, and then <5119-tote-> shall they fast <3522-nesteuo-> in those <1565-ekeinos-> days <2250-hemera->.

:21 No <3762-oudeis-> man <3762-oudeis-> also <2532-kai-> seweth <1976-epirrhapto-> a piece <1915-epiblema-> of new <0046-agnaphos-> cloth <4470-rhakos-> on <1909-epi-> an old <3820-palaios-> garment <2440-himation->: else <1490-ei de me(ge)-> the new <2537-kainos-> piece <4138-pleroma-> that filled <4138-pleroma-> it up taketh <0142-airo-> away <0142-airo-> from the old <3820-palaios->, and the rent <4978-schisma-> is made <1096-ginomai-> worse <5501-cheiron->.

:22 And no <3762-oudeis-> man <3762-oudeis-> putteth <0906-ballo-> new <3501-neos-> wine <3631-oinos-> into <1519-eis-> old <3820-palaios-> bottles <0779-askos->: else <1490-ei de me(ge)-> the new <3501-neos-> wine <3631-oinos-> doth burst <4486-rhegnumi-> the bottles <0779-askos->, and the wine <3631-oinos-> is spilled <1632-ekcheo->, and the bottles <0779-askos-> will be marred <0622-apollumi->: but new <3501-neos-> wine <3631-oinos-> must be put <0906-ballo-> into <1519-eis-> new <2537-kainos-> bottles <0779-askos->.

:23 And it came <1096-ginomai-> to pass, that he went <3899-parapoeruomai-> through <1223-dia-> the corn <4702-sporimos-> fields on <1722-en-> the sabbath <4521-sabbaton-> day; and his disciples <3101-mathetes-> began <0756-archomai->, as they went <4160-poieo->, to pluck <5089-tillo-> the ears <4719-stachus-> of corn <4719-stachus->.

:24 And the Pharisees <5330-Pharisaios-> said <3004-lego-> unto him, Behold <2396-ide->, why <5101-tis-> do <4160-poieo-> they on <1722-en-> the sabbath <4521-sabbaton-> day that which <3739-hos-> is not lawful <1832-exesti->?

:25 And he said <3004-lego-> unto them, Have ye never <3763-oudepote-> read <0314-anaginosko-> what <5101-tis-> David <1138-Dabid-> did <4160-poieo->, when <3753-hote-> he had <2192-echo-> need <5532-chreia->, and was an hungred <3983-peinao->, he, and they that were with him?

:26 How <4459-pos-> he went <1525-eiserchomai-> into <1519-eis-> the house <3624-oikos-> of God <2316-theos-> in the days <1909-epi-> of Abiathar <0008-Abiathar-> the high <0749-archiereus-> priest <0749-archiereus->, and did eat <5315-phago-> the shewbread <4286-prothesis->, which <3739-hos-> is not lawful <1832-exesti-> to eat <5315-phago-> but for the priests <2409-hiereus->, and gave <1325-didomi-> also <2532-kai-> to them which were with him?

:4 And he saith <3004-lego-> unto them, Is it lawful <1832-exesti-> to do <0015-agathopoieo-> good <0015-agathopoieo-> on the sabbath <4521-sabbaton-> days, or <2228-e-> to do <2554-kakopoieo-> evil <2554-kakopoieo->? to save <4982-sozo-> life <5590-psuche->, or <2228-e-> to kill <0615-apokteino->? But they held <4623-siopao-> their peace <4623-siopao->.

:5 And when he had looked <4017-periblepo-> round <4017-periblepo-> about <4017-periblepo-> on them with anger <3709-orge->, being grieved <4818-sullupeo-> for the hardness <4457-porosis-> of their hearts <2588-kardia->, he saith <3004-lego-> unto the man <0444-anthropos->, Stretch <1614-ekteino-> forth <1614-ekteino-> thine <4675-sou-> hand <5495-cheir->. And he stretched <1614-ekteino-> [it] out: and his hand <5495-cheir-> was restored <0600-apokathistemi-> whole <5199-hugies-> as the other <0243-allos->.

:6 And the Pharisees <5330-Pharisaios-> went <1831-exerchomai-> forth <1831-exerchomai->, and straightway <2112-eutheos-> took <4160-poieo-> counsel <4824-sumboulion-> with the Herodians <2265-Herodianoi-> against <2596-kata-> him, how <3704-hopos-> they might destroy <0622-apollumi-> him.

:7 But Jesus <2424-Iesous-> withdrew <0402-anachoreo-> himself with his disciples <3101-mathetes-> to the sea <2281-thalassa->: and a great <4183-polus-> multitude <4128-plethos-> from Galilee <1056-Galilaia-> followed <0190-akoloutheo-> him, and from Judaea <2449-Ioudaia->,

:8 And from Jerusalem <2414-Hierosoluma->, and from Idumaea <2401-Idoumaia->, and [from] beyond <4008-peran-> Jordan <2446-Iordanes->; and they about <4012-peri-> Tyre <5184-Turos-> and Sidon <4605-Sidon->, a great <4183-polus-> multitude <4128-plethos->, when they had heard <0191-akouo-> what <3745-hosos-> great <3745-hosos-> things he did <4160-poieo->, came <2064-erchomai-> unto him.

:9 And he spake <2036-epo-> to his disciples <3101-mathetes->, that a small <4142-ploiarion-> ship <4142-ploiarion-> should wait <4342-proskartereo-> on <4342-proskartereo-> him because <1223-dia-> of the multitude <3793-ochlos->, lest <3361-me-> they should throng <2346-thlibo-> him.

:10 For he had healed <2323-therapeuo-> many <4183-polus->; insomuch <5620-hoste-> that they pressed <1968-epipipto-> upon him for to touch <0680-haptomai-> him, as many <3745-hosos-> as had <2192-echo-> plagues <3148-mastix->.

:11 And unclean <0169-akathartos-> spirits <4151-pneuma->, when <3752-hotan-> they saw <2334-theoreo-> him, fell <4363-prospipto-> down before <4363-prospipto-> him, and cried <2896-krazo->, saying <3004-lego->, Thou art <1488-ei-> the Son <5207-huios-> of God <2316-theos->.

:12 And he straitly <4183-polus-> charged <2008-epitimao-> them that they should not make <4160-poieo-> him known <5318-phaneros->.

:13. And he goeth <0305-anabaino-> up into <1519-eis-> a mountain <3735-oros->, and calleth <4341-proskaleomai-> [unto him] whom <3739-hos-> he would <2309-thelo->: and they came <0565-aperchomai-> unto him.

:14 And he ordained <4160-poieo-> twelve <1427-dodeka->, that they should be with him, and that he might send <0649-apostello-> them forth <0649-apostello-> to preach <2784-kerusso->,

:15 And to have <2192-echo-> power <1849-exousia-> to heal <2323-therapeuo-> sicknesses <3554-nosos->, and to cast <1544-ekballo-> out devils <1140-daimonion->:

:20 And the multitude <3793-ochlos-> cometh <4905-sunerchomai-> together <4905-sunerchomai-> again <3825-palin->, so <5620-hoste-> that they could <1410-dunamai-> not so <3383-mete-> much <3383-mete-> as eat <5315-phago-> bread <0740-artos->.

:21 And when his friends <3844-para-> heard <0191-akouo-> [of it], they went <1831-exerchomai-> out to lay hold <2902-krateo-> on him: for they said <3004-lego->, He is beside <1839-existemi-> himself.

:27 No <3762-oudeis-> man <3762-oudeis-> can <1410-dunamai-> enter <1525-eiserchomai-> into <1519-eis-> a strong <2478-ischuros-> man's house <3614-oikia->, and spoil <1283-diarpazo-> his goods <4632-skeuos->, except <3362-ean me-> he will first <4412-proton-> bind <1210-deo-> the strong <2478-ischuros-> man <2478-ischuros->; and then <5119-tote-> he will spoil <1283-diarpazo-> his house <3614-oikia->.

:28 Verily <0281-amen-> I say <3004-lego-> unto you, All <3956-pas-> sins <0265-hamartema-> shall be forgiven <0863-aphiemi-> unto the sons <5207-huios-> of men <0444-anthropos->, and blasphemies <0988-blasphemia-> wherewith <3745-hosos-> soever <0302-an-> they shall blaspheme <0987-blasphemeo->:

:29 But he that shall blaspheme <0987-blasphemeo-> against <1519-eis-> the Holy <0040-hagios-> Ghost <4151-pneuma-> hath <2192-echo-> never <0165-aion-> forgiveness <0859-aphesis->, but is in danger <1777-enochos-> of eternal <0166-aionios-> damnation <2920-krisis->:

:4 And it came <1096-ginomai-> to pass, as he sowed <4687-speiro->, some <3588-ho-> fell <4098-pipto-> by the way <3598-hodos-> side <3844-para->, and the fowls <4071-peteinon-> of the air <3772-ouranos-> came <2064-erchomai-> and devoured <2719-katesthio-> it up.

:5 And some <0243-allos-> fell <4098-pipto-> on <1909-epi-> stony <4075-petrodes-> ground, where <3699-hopou-> it had <2192-echo-> not much <4183-polus-> earth <1093-ge->; and immediately <2112-eutheos-> it sprang <1816-exanatello-> up, because <1223-dia-> it had <2192-echo-> no <3361-me-> depth <0899-bathos-> of earth <1093-ge->:

:6 But when the sun <2246-helios-> was up, it was scorched <2739-kaumatizo->; and because <1223-dia-> it had <2192-echo-> no <3361-me-> root <4491-rhiza->, it withered <3583-xeraino-> away.

:7 And some <0243-allos-> fell <4098-pipto-> among <1519-eis-> thorns <0173-akantha->, and the thorns <0173-akantha-> grew <0305-anabaino-> up, and choked <4846-sumpnigo-> it, and it yielded <1325-didomi-> no <3756-ou-> fruit <2590-karpos->.

:8 And other <0243-allos-> fell <4098-pipto-> on <1519-eis-> good <2570-kalos-> ground <1093-ge->, and did yield <1325-didomi-> fruit <2590-karpos-> that sprang <0305-anabaino-> up and increased <0837-auzano->; and brought <5342-phero-> forth <5348-phthano->, some <1520-heis-> thirty <5144-triakonta->, and some <1520-heis-> sixty <1835-hexekonta->, and some <1520-heis-> an hundred <1540-hekaton->.

:13 And he said <3004-lego-> unto them, Know <1492-eido-> ye not this <5026-taute-> parable <3850-parabole->? and how <4459-pos-> then will ye know <1097-ginosko-> all <3956-pas-> parables <3850-parabole->?

:14 The sower <4687-speiro-> soweth <4687-speiro-> the word <3056-logos->.

:15 And these <3778-houtos-> are they by the way <3598-hodos-> side <3844-para->, where <3699-hopou-> the word <3056-logos-> is sown <4687-speiro->; but when <3752-hotan-> they have heard <0191-akouo->, Satan <4567-Satanas-> cometh <2064-erchomai-> immediately <2112-eutheos->, and taketh <0142-airo-> away <0142-airo-> the word <3056-logos-> that was sown <4687-speiro-> in their hearts <2588-kardia->.

:16 And these <3778-houtos-> are they likewise <3668-homoios-> which are sown <4687-speiro-> on <1909-epi-> stony <4075-petrodes-> ground; who <3739-hos->, when <3752-hotan-> they have heard <0191-akouo-> the word <3056-logos->, immediately <2112-eutheos-> receive <2983-lambano-> it with gladness <5479-chara->;

:17 And have <2192-echo-> no <3756-ou-> root <4491-rhiza-> in themselves <1438-heautou->, and so endure <2076-esti-> but for a time <4340-proskairos->: afterward <1534-eita->, when affliction <2347-thlipsis-> or <2228-e-> persecution <1375-diogmos-> ariseth <1096-ginomai-> for the word's <3056-logos-> sake, immediately <2112-eutheos-> they are offended <4624-skandalizo->.

:18 And these <3778-houtos-> are they which are sown <4687-speiro-> among <1519-eis-> thorns <0173-akantha->; such <3778-houtos-> as hear <0191-akouo-> the word <3056-logos->,

:19 And the cares <3308-merimna-> of this <3588-ho-> world <0165-aion->, and the deceitfulness <0539-apate-> of riches <4149-ploutos->, and the lusts <1939-epithumia-> of other <3062-loipoy-> things entering <1531-eisporeuomai-> in, choke <4846-sumpnigo-> the word <3056-logos->, and it becometh <1096-ginomai-> unfruitful <0175-akarpos->.

:20 And these <3778-houtos-> are they which are sown <4687-speiro-> on <1909-epi-> good <2570-kalos-> ground <1093-ge->; such <3748-hostis-> as hear <0191-akouo-> the word <3056-logos->, and receive <3858-paradechomai-> [it], and bring <2592-karpophoreo-> forth <2592-karpophoreo-> fruit <2592-karpophoreo->, some <1520-heis-> thirtyfold <5144-triakonta->, some <1520-heis-> sixty <1835-hexekonta->, and some <1520-heis-> an hundred <1540-hekaton->.

:21. And he said <3004-lego-> unto them, Is a candle <3088-luchnos-> brought <2064-erchomai-> to be put <5087-tithemi-> under <5259-hupo-> a bushel <3426-modios->, or <2228-e-> under <5259-hupo-> a bed <2825-kline->? and not to be set <2007-epitithemi-> on <1909-epi-> a candlestick <3087-luchnia->?

:22 For there is nothing <5100-tis-> hid <2927-kruptos->, which <3739-hos-> shall not be manifested <5319-phaneroo->; neither <3761-oude-> was any <5100-tis-> thing kept <1096-ginomai-> secret <0614-apokruphos->, but that it should come <2064-erchomai-> abroad <5318-phaneros->.

:23 If any <1536-ei tis-> man have <2192-echo-> ears <3775-ous-> to hear <0191-akouo->, let him hear <0191-akouo->.

:24 And he said <3004-lego-> unto them, Take heed <0991-blepo-> what <5101-tis-> ye hear <0191-akouo->: with what measure <3358-metron-> ye mete <3354-metreo->, it shall be measured <3354-metreo-> to you: and unto you that hear <0191-akouo-> shall more <4369-prostithemi-> be given <4369-prostithemi->.

:25 For he that hath <2192-echo->, to him shall be given <1325-didomi->: and he that hath <2192-echo-> not, from him shall be taken <0142-airo-> even <2532-kai-> that which <3739-hos-> he hath <2192-echo->.

:26 And he said <3004-lego->, So <3779-houto-> is the kingdom <0932-basileia-> of God <2316-theos->, as if <1487-ei-> a man <0444-anthropos-> should cast <0906-ballo-> seed <4703-sporos-> into <1909-epi-> the ground <1093-ge->;

:27 And should sleep <2518-katheudo->, and rise <1453-egeiro-> night <3571-nux-> and day <2250-hemera->, and the seed <4703-sporos-> should spring <0985-blastano-> and grow <3373-mekuno-> up, he knoweth <1492-eido-> not how <5613-hos->.

:28 For the earth <1093-ge-> bringeth <2592-karpophoreo-> forth <2592-karpophoreo-> fruit <2592-karpophoreo-> of herself <0844-automatos->; first <4412-proton-> the blade <5528-chortos->, then <1534-eita-> the ear <4719-stachus->, after <1534-eita-> that the full <4134-pleres-> corn <4621-sitos-> in the ear <4719-stachus->.

:29 But when <3752-hotan-> the fruit <2590-karpos-> is brought <3860-paradidomi-> forth <3860-paradidomi->, immediately <2112-eutheos-> he putteth <0649-apostello-> in the sickle <1407-drepanon->, because <3754-hoti-> the harvest <2326-therismos-> is come <3936-paristemi->.

:30 And he said <3004-lego->, Whereunto <5101-tis-> shall we liken <3666-homoioo-> the kingdom <0932-basileia-> of God <2316-theos->? or <2228-e-> with what <4169-poios-> comparison <3850-parabole-> shall we compare <3846-paraballo-> it?

:31 [It is] like <5613-hos-> a grain <2848-kokkos-> of mustard <4615-sinapi-> seed <4690-sperma->, which <3739-hos->, when <3752-hotan-> it is sown <4687-speiro-> in the earth <1093-ge->, is less <3398-mikros-> than all <3956-pas-> the seeds <4690-sperma-> that be in the earth <1093-ge->:

:32 But when <3752-hotan-> it is sown <4687-speiro->, it groweth <0305-anabaino-> up, and becometh <1096-ginomai-> greater <3187-meizon-> than all <3956-pas-> herbs <3001-lachanon->, and shooteth <4160-poieo-> out great <3173-megas-> branches <2798-klados->; so <5620-hoste-> that the fowls <4071-peteinon-> of the air <3772-ouranos-> may <1410-dunamai-> lodge <2681-kataskenoo-> under <5259-hupo-> the shadow <4639-skia-> of it.

:33 And with many <4183-polus-> such <5108-toioutos-> parables <3850-parabole-> spake <2980-laleo-> he the word <3056-logos-> unto them, as they were able <1410-dunamai-> to hear <0191-akouo-> [it].

:34 But without <5565-choris-> a parable <3850-parabole-> spake <2980-laleo-> he not unto them: and when they were alone <2398-idios->, he expounded <1956-epiluo-> all <3956-pas-> things to his disciples <3101-mathetes->.

:35. And the same <1565-ekeinos-> day <2250-hemera->, when the even <3798-opsios-> was come <1096-ginomai->, he saith <3004-lego-> unto them, Let us pass <1330-dierchomai-> over <1330-dierchomai-> unto the other <4008-peran-> side <4008-peran->.

:36 And when they had sent <0863-aphiemi-> away <0863-aphiemi-> the multitude <3793-ochlos->, they took <3880-paralambano-> him even as he was in the ship <4143-ploion->. And there were also with him other <0243-allos-> little <4142-ploiarion-> ships <4142-ploiarion->.

:37 And there arose <1096-ginomai-> a great <3173-megas-> storm <2978-lailaps-> of wind <0417-anemos->, and the waves <2949-kuma-> beat <1911-epiballo-> into <1519-eis-> the ship <4143-ploion->, so <5620-hoste-> that it was now <2235-ede-> full <1072-gemizo->.

:38 And he was in the hinder <4403-prumna-> part of the ship, asleep <2518-katheudo-> on <1909-epi-> a pillow <4344-proskephalaion->: and they awake <1326-diegeiro-> him, and say <3004-lego-> unto him, Master <1320-didaskalos->, carest <3199-melo-> thou not that we perish <0622-apollumi->?

:39 And he arose <1326-diegeiro->, and rebuked <2008-epitimao-> the wind <0417-anemos->, and said <2036-epo-> unto the sea <2281-thalassa->, Peace <4623-siopao->, be still <5392-phimoo->. And the wind <0417-anemos-> ceased <2869-kopazo->, and there was a great <3173-megas-> calm <1055-galene->.

:40 And he said <2036-epo-> unto them, Why <5101-tis-> are ye so <3779-houto-> fearful <1169-deilos->? how <4459-pos-> is it that ye have <2192-echo-> no <3756-ou-> faith <4102-pistis->?

:41 And they feared <5401-phobos-> exceedingly <3173-megas->, and said <3004-lego-> one <0240-allelon-> to another <0240-allelon->, What <0686-ara-> manner <0686-ara-> of man is this <3778-houtos->, that even <2532-kai-> the wind <0417-anemos-> and the sea <2281-thalassa-> obey <5219-hupakouo-> him?

:2 And when he was come <1831-exerchomai-> out of the ship <4143-ploion->, immediately <2112-eutheos-> there met <0528-apantao-> him out of the tombs <3419-mnemeion-> a man <0444-anthropos-> with an unclean <0169-akathartos-> spirit <4151-pneuma->,

:3 Who <3739-hos-> had <2192-echo-> [his] dwelling <2731-katoikesis-> among <1722-en-> the tombs <3419-mnemeion->; and no <3762-oudeis-> man <3762-oudeis-> could <1410-dunamai-> bind <1210-deo-> him, no <3777-oute->, not with chains <0254-halusis->:

:4 Because <1223-dia-> that he had been often <4178-pollakis-> bound <1210-deo-> with fetters <3976-pede-> and chains <0254-halusis->, and the chains <0254-halusis-> had been plucked <1288-diaspao-> asunder <1288-diaspao-> by him, and the fetters <3976-pede-> broken <4937-suntribo-> in pieces: neither <3762-oudeis-> could <2480-ischuo-> any <3762-oudeis-> [man] tame <1150-damazo-> him.

:6 But when he saw <1492-eido-> Jesus <2424-Iesous-> afar <3113-makrothen-> off <0575-apo->, he ran <5143-trecho-> and worshipped <4352-proskuneo-> him,

:7 And cried <2896-krazo-> with a loud <3173-megas-> voice <5456-phone->, and said <2036-epo->, What <5101-tis-> have I to do with thee, Jesus <2424-Iesous->, [thou] Son <5207-huios-> of the most <5310-hupsistos-> high <5310-hupsistos-> God <2316-theos->? I adjure <3726-horkizo-> thee by God <2316-theos->, that thou torment <0928-basanizo-> me not.

:8 For he said <3004-lego-> unto him, Come <1831-exerchomai-> out of the man <0444-anthropos->, [thou] unclean <0169-akathartos-> spirit <4151-pneuma->.

:9 And he asked <1905-eperotao-> him, What <5101-tis-> [is] thy name <3686-onoma->? And he answered <0611-apokrinomai->, saying <3004-lego->, My name <3686-onoma-> [is] Legion <3003-legeon->: for we are many <4183-polus->.

:10 And he besought <3870-parakaleo-> him much <4183-polus-> that he would not send <0649-apostello-> them away <0649-apostello-> out of the country <5561-chora->.

:11 Now <1161-de-> there was there <1563-ekei-> nigh <4314-pros-> unto the mountains <3735-oros-> a great <3173-megas-> herd <0034-agele-> of swine <5519-choiros-> feeding <1006-bosko->.

:12 And all <3956-pas-> the devils <1142-daimon-> besought <3870-parakaleo-> him, saying <3004-lego->, Send <3992-pempo-> us into <1519-eis-> the swine <5519-choiros->, that we may enter <1525-eiserchomai-> into <1519-eis-> them.

:13 And forthwith <2112-eutheos-> Jesus <2424-Iesous-> gave <2010-epitrepo-> them leave <2010-epitrepo->. And the unclean <0169-akathartos-> spirits <4151-pneuma-> went <1831-exerchomai-> out, and entered <1525-eiserchomai-> into <1519-eis-> the swine <5519-choiros->: and the herd <0034-agele-> ran <3729-hormao-> violently down <2596-kata-> a steep <2911-kremnos-> place into <1519-eis-> the sea <2281-thalassa->, (they were about <5613-hos-> two <1367-dischilioi-> thousand <1367-dischilioi->;) and were choked <4155-pnigo-> in the sea <2281-thalassa->.

:14 And they that fed <1006-bosko-> the swine <5519-choiros-> fled <5343-pheugo->, and told <0312-anaggello-> [it] in the city <4172-polis->, and in the country <0068-agros->. And they went <1831-exerchomai-> out to see <1492-eido-> what <5101-tis-> it was that was done <1096-ginomai->.

:15 And they come <2064-erchomai-> to Jesus <2424-Iesous->, and see <2334-theoreo-> him that was possessed <1139-daimonizomai-> with the devil <1139-daimonizomai->, and had <2192-echo-> the legion <3003-legeon->, sitting <2521-kathemai->, and clothed <2439-himatizo->, and in his right <4993-sophroneo-> mind <4993-sophroneo->: and they were afraid <5399-phobeo->.

:16 And they that saw <1492-eido-> [it] told <1334-diegeomai-> them how <4459-pos-> it befell <1096-ginomai-> to him that was possessed <1139-daimonizomai-> with the devil <1139-daimonizomai->, and [also] concerning <4012-peri-> the swine <5519-choiros->.

:17 And they began <0756-archomai-> to pray <3870-parakaleo-> him to depart <0565-aperchomai-> out of their coasts <3725-horion->.

:18 And when he was come <1684-embaino-> into <1519-eis-> the ship <4143-ploion->, he that had been possessed <1139-daimonizomai-> with the devil <1139-daimonizomai-> prayed <3870-parakaleo-> him that he might be with him.

:19 Howbeit Jesus <2424-Iesous-> suffered <0863-aphiemi-> him not, but saith <3004-lego-> unto him, Go <5217-hupago-> home <3624-oikos-> to thy friends, and tell <0312-anaggello-> them how <3745-hosos-> great <3745-hosos-> things the Lord <2962-kurios-> hath done <4160-poieo-> for thee, and hath had compassion <1653-eleeo-> on thee.

:20 And he departed <0565-aperchomai->, and began <0756-archomai-> to publish <2784-kerusso-> in Decapolis <1179-Dekapolis-> how <3745-hosos-> great <3745-hosos-> things Jesus <2424-Iesous-> had done <4160-poieo-> for him: and all <3956-pas-> [men] did marvel <2296-thaumazo->.

:21. And when Jesus <2424-Iesous-> was passed <1276-diaperao-> over <1276-diaperao-> again <3825-palin-> by ship <4143-ploion-> unto the other <4008-peran-> side <4008-peran->, much <4183-polus-> people <3793-ochlos-> gathered <4863-sunago-> unto him: and he was nigh <3844-para-> unto the sea <2281-thalassa->.

:22 And, behold <2400-idou->, there cometh <2064-erchomai-> one <1520-heis-> of the rulers <0752-archisunagogos-> of the synagogue <0752-archisunagogos->, Jairus <2383-Iaeiros-> by name <3686-onoma->; and when he saw <1492-eido-> him, he fell <4098-pipto-> at <4314-pros-> his feet <4228-pous->,

:23 And besought <3870-parakaleo-> him greatly <4183-polus->, saying <3004-lego->, My little <2365-thugatrion-> daughter <2365-thugatrion-> lieth <2192-echo-> at the point <2079-eschatos-> of death <2079-eschatos->: [I pray thee], come <2064-erchomai-> and lay <2007-epitithemi-> thy hands <5495-cheir-> on <2007-epitithemi-> her, that she may be healed <4982-sozo->; and she shall live <2198-zao->.

:24 And [Jesus] went <0565-aperchomai-> with him; and much <4183-polus-> people <3793-ochlos-> followed <0190-akoloutheo-> him, and thronged <4918-sunthlibo-> him.

:25 And a certain <5100-tis-> woman <1135-gune->, which had <1510-eimi-> an issue <4511-rhusis-> of blood <0129-haima-> twelve <1427-dodeka-> years <2094-etos->,

:26 And had suffered <3958-pascho-> many <4183-polus-> things of many <4183-polus-> physicians <2395-iatros->, and had spent <1159-dapanao-> all <3956-pas-> that she had <3844-para->, and was nothing <3367-medeis-> bettered <5623-opheleo->, but rather <3123-mallon-> grew <2064-erchomai-> worse <5501-cheiron->,

:27 When she had heard <0191-akouo-> of Jesus <2424-Iesous->, came <2064-erchomai-> in the press <3793-ochlos-> behind <3693-opisthen->, and touched <0680-haptomai-> his garment <2440-himation->.

:28 For she said <3004-lego->, If <2579-kan-> I may touch <0680-haptomai-> but his clothes <2440-himation->, I shall be whole <4982-sozo->.

:29 And straightway <2112-eutheos-> the fountain <4077-pege-> of her blood <0129-haima-> was dried <3583-xeraino-> up; and she felt <1097-ginosko-> in [her] body <4983-soma-> that she was healed <2390-iaomai-> of that plague <3148-mastix->.

:30 And Jesus <2424-Iesous->, immediately <2112-eutheos-> knowing <1921-epiginosko-> in himself <1438-heautou-> that virtue <1411-dunamis-> had gone <1831-exerchomai-> out of him, turned <1994-epistrepho-> him about <1994-epistrepho-> in the press <3793-ochlos->, and said <3004-lego->, Who <5101-tis-> touched <0680-haptomai-> my clothes <2440-himation->?

:31 And his disciples <3101-mathetes-> said <3004-lego-> unto him, Thou seest <0991-blepo-> the multitude <3793-ochlos-> thronging <4918-sunthlibo-> thee, and sayest <3004-lego-> thou, Who <5101-tis-> touched <0680-haptomai-> me?

:32 And he looked <4017-periblepo-> round <4017-periblepo-> about <4017-periblepo-> to see <1492-eido-> her that had done <4160-poieo-> this <5124-touto-> thing.

:33 But the woman <1135-gune-> fearing <5399-phobeo-> and trembling <5141-tremo->, knowing <1492-eido-> what <3739-hos-> was done <1096-ginomai-> in her, came <2064-erchomai-> and fell <4363-prospipto-> down before <4363-prospipto-> him, and told <2036-epo-> him all <3956-pas-> the truth <0225-aletheia->.

:34 And he said <2036-epo-> unto her, Daughter <2364-thugater->, thy faith <4102-pistis-> hath made <4982-sozo-> thee whole <4982-sozo->; go <5217-hupago-> in peace <1515-eirene->, and be whole <5199-hugies-> of thy plague <3148-mastix->.

:35. While he yet <2089-eti-> spake <2980-laleo->, there came <2064-erchomai-> from the ruler <0752-archisunagogos-> of the synagogue's <0752-archisunagogos-> [house certain] which said <3004-lego->, Thy daughter <2364-thugater-> is dead <0599-apothnesko->: why <5101-tis-> troublest <4660-skullo-> thou the Master <1320-didaskalos-> any <2089-eti-> further <2089-eti->?

:36 As soon <2112-eutheos-> as Jesus <2424-Iesous-> heard <0191-akouo-> the word <3056-logos-> that was spoken <2980-laleo->, he saith <3004-lego-> unto the ruler <0752-archisunagogos-> of the synagogue <0752-archisunagogos->, Be not afraid <5399-phobeo->, only <3440-monon-> believe <4100-pisteuo->.

:37 And he suffered <0863-aphiemi-> no <3762-oudeis-> man <3762-oudeis-> to follow <4870-sunakoloutheo-> him, save <1508-ei me-> Peter <4074-Petros->, and James <2385-Iakobos->, and John <2491-Ioannes-> the brother <0080-adephos-> of James <2385-Iakobos->.

:38 And he cometh <2064-erchomai-> to the house <3624-oikos-> of the ruler <0752-archisunagogos-> of the synagogue <0752-archisunagogos->, and seeth <2334-theoreo-> the tumult <2351-thorubos->, and them that wept <2799-klaio-> and wailed <0214-alalazo-> greatly <4183-polus->.

:39 And when he was come <1525-eiserchomai-> in, he saith <3004-lego-> unto them, Why <5101-tis-> make <2350-thorubeo-> ye this ado <2350-thorubeo->, and weep <2799-klaio->? the damsel <3813-paidion-> is not dead <0599-apothnesko->, but sleepeth <2518-katheudo->.

:40 And they laughed <2606-katagelao-> him to scorn <2606-katagelao->. But when he had put <1544-ekballo-> them all <0537-hapas-> out, he taketh <3880-paralambano-> the father <3962-pater-> and the mother <3384-meter-> of the damsel <3813-paidion->, and them that were with him, and entereth <1531-eisporeuomai-> in where <3699-hopou-> the damsel <3813-paidion-> was lying <0345-anakeimai->.

:41 And he took <2902-krateo-> the damsel <3813-paidion-> by the hand <5495-cheir->, and said <3004-lego-> unto her, Talitha <5008-talitha-> cumi <2891-koumi->; which <3739-hos-> is, being interpreted <3177-methermeneuo->, Damsel <2877-korasion->, I say <3004-lego-> unto thee, arise <1453-egeiro->.

:42 And straightway <2112-eutheos-> the damsel <2877-korasion-> arose <0450-anistemi->, and walked <4043-peripateo->; for she was [of the age] of twelve <1427-dodeka-> years <2094-etos->. And they were astonished <1839-existemi-> with a great <3173-megas-> astonishment <1611-ekstasis->.

:43 And he charged <1291-diastellomai-> them straitly <4183-polus-> that no <3367-medeis-> man <3367-medeis-> should know <1097-ginosko-> it; and commanded <2036-epo-> that something should be given <1325-didomi-> her to eat <5315-phago->.

:2 And when the sabbath <4521-sabbaton-> day was come <1096-ginomai->, he began <0756-archomai-> to teach <1321-didasko-> in the synagogue <4864-sunagoge->: and many <4183-polus-> hearing <0191-akouo-> [him] were astonished <1605-ekplesso->, saying <3004-lego->, From whence <4159-pothen-> hath this <5129-toutoi-> [man] these <5023-tauta-> things? and what <5101-tis-> wisdom <4678-sophia-> [is] this <3588-ho-> which is given <1325-didomi-> unto him, that even <2532-kai-> such <5108-toioutos-> mighty <1411-dunamis-> works are wrought <1096-ginomai-> by his hands <5495-cheir->?

:3 Is not this <3778-houtos-> the carpenter <5045-tekton->, the son <5207-huios-> of Mary <3137-Maria->, the brother <0080-adephos-> of James <2385-Iakobos->, and Joses <2500-Ioses->, and of Juda <2455-Ioudas->, and Simon <4613-Simon->? and are not his sisters <0079-adelphe-> here <5602-hode-> with us? And they were offended <4624-skandalizo-> at <1722-en-> him.

:4 But Jesus <2424-Iesous-> said <3004-lego-> unto them, A prophet <4396-prophetes-> is not without <0820-atimos-> honour <0820-atimos->, but in his own country <3968-patris->, and among <1722-en-> his own kin <4773-suggenes->, and in his own house <3614-oikia->.

:5 And he could <1410-dunamai-> there <1563-ekei-> do <4160-poieo-> no <3762-oudeis-> mighty <1411-dunamis-> work <1411-dunamis->, save <1508-ei me-> that he laid <2007-epitithemi-> his hands <5495-cheir-> upon a few <3641-oligos-> sick <0732-arrhostos-> folk, and healed <2323-therapeuo-> [them].

:6 And he marvelled <2296-thaumazo-> because <1223-dia-> of their unbelief <0570-apaistia->. And he went <4013-periago-> round <2943-kuklothen-> about <2945-kukloi-> the villages <2968-kome->, teaching <1321-didasko->.

:7. And he called <4341-proskaleomai-> [unto him] the twelve <1427-dodeka->, and began <0756-archomai-> to send <0649-apostello-> them forth <1614-ekteino-> by two <1417-duo-> and two <1417-duo->; and gave <1325-didomi-> them power <1849-exousia-> over unclean <0169-akathartos-> spirits <4151-pneuma->;

:8 And commanded <3853-paraggello-> them that they should take <0142-airo-> nothing <3367-medeis-> for [their] journey <3598-hodos->, save <1508-ei me-> a staff <4464-rhabdos-> only <3440-monon->; no <3361-me-> scrip <4082-pera->, no <3361-me-> bread <0740-artos->, no <3361-me-> money <5475-chalkos-> in [their] purse <2223-zone->:

:9 But [be] shod <5265-hupodeo-> with sandals <4547-sandalion->; and not put <1746-enduo-> on <1746-enduo-> two <1417-duo-> coats <5509-chiton->.

:10 And he said <3004-lego-> unto them, In what <3699-hopou-> place <3699-hopou-> soever <1437-ean-> ye enter <1525-eiserchomai-> into <1519-eis-> an house <3614-oikia->, there <1563-ekei-> abide <3306-meno-> till <2193-heos-> ye depart <1831-exerchomai-> from that place <1564-ekeithen->.

:11 And whosoever <0302-an-> shall not receive <1209-dechomai-> you, nor <3366-mede-> hear <0191-akouo-> you, when ye depart <1607-ekporeuomai-> thence <1564-ekeithen->, shake <1621-ektinasso-> off <1621-ektinasso-> the dust <5522-choos-> under <5270-hupokato-> your <5216-humon-> feet <4228-pous-> for a testimony <3142-marturion-> against them. Verily <0281-amen-> I say <3004-lego-> unto you, It shall be more <0414-anektoteros-> tolerable <0414-anektoteros-> for Sodom <4670-Sodoma-> and Gomorrha <1116-Gomorrha-> in the day <2250-hemera-> of judgment <2920-krisis->, than <2228-e-> for that city <4172-polis->.

:12 And they went <1831-exerchomai-> out, and preached <2784-kerusso-> that men should repent <3340-metanoeo->.

:13 And they cast <1544-ekballo-> out many <4183-polus-> devils <1140-daimonion->, and anointed <0218-aleipho-> with oil <1637-elaion-> many <4183-polus-> that were sick <0732-arrhostos->, and healed <2323-therapeuo-> [them].

:14. And king <0935-basileus-> Herod <2264-Herodes-> heard <0191-akouo-> [of him]; (for his name <3686-onoma-> was spread <5318-phaneros-> abroad <1096-ginomai->:) and he said <3004-lego->, That John <2491-Ioannes-> the Baptist <0907-baptizo-> was risen <1453-egeiro-> from the dead <3498-nekros->, and therefore <5124-touto-> mighty <1411-dunamis-> works do shew <1754-energeo-> forth <1754-energeo-> themselves in him.

:15 Others <0243-allos-> said <3004-lego->, That it is Elias <2243-Helias->. And others <0243-allos-> said <3004-lego->, That it is a prophet <4396-prophetes->, or <2228-e-> as one <1520-heis-> of the prophets <4396-prophetes->.

:16 But when Herod <2264-Herodes-> heard <0191-akouo-> [thereof], he said <2036-epo->, It is John <2491-Ioannes->, whom <3739-hos-> I beheaded <0607-apokephalizo->: he is risen <1453-egeiro-> from the dead <3498-nekros->.

:17 For Herod <2264-Herodes-> himself <0846-autos-> had sent <0649-apostello-> forth <1614-ekteino-> and laid hold <2902-krateo-> upon John <2491-Ioannes->, and bound <1210-deo-> him in prison <5438-phulake-> for Herodias <2266-Herodias->' sake, his brother <0080-adephos-> Philip's <5376-Philippos-> wife <1135-gune->: for he had married <1060-gameo-> her.

:18 For John <2491-Ioannes-> had said <3004-lego-> unto Herod <2264-Herodes->, It is not lawful <1832-exesti-> for thee to have <2192-echo-> thy brother's <0080-adephos-> wife <1135-gune->.

:19 Therefore Herodias <2266-Herodias-> had a quarrel <1758-enecho-> against him, and would <2309-thelo-> have killed <0615-apokteino-> him; but she could <1410-dunamai-> not:

:20 For Herod <2264-Herodes-> feared <5399-phobeo-> John <2491-Ioannes->, knowing <1492-eido-> that he was a just <1342-dikaios-> man <0435-aner-> and an holy <0040-hagios->, and observed <4933-suntereo-> him; and when he heard <0191-akouo-> him, he did <4160-poieo-> many <4183-polus-> things, and heard <0191-akouo-> him gladly <2234-hedeos->.

:21 And when a convenient <2121-eukairos-> day <2250-hemera-> was come <1096-ginomai->, that Herod <2264-Herodes-> on his birthday <1077-genesia-> made <4160-poieo-> a supper <1173-deipnon-> to his lords <3175-megistanes->, high captains <5506-chiliarchos->, and chief <4413-protos-> [estates] of Galilee <1056-Galilaia->;

:22 And when the daughter <2364-thugater-> of the said <0846-autos-> Herodias <2266-Herodias-> came <1525-eiserchomai-> in, and danced <3738-orcheomai->, and pleased <0700-aresko-> Herod <2264-Herodes-> and them that sat <4873-sunanakeimai-> with him, the king <0935-basileus-> said <2036-epo-> unto the damsel <2877-korasion->, Ask <0154-aiteo-> of me whatsoever <1437-ean-> thou wilt <2309-thelo->, and I will give <1325-didomi-> [it] thee.

:23 And he sware <3660-omnuo-> unto her, Whatsoever <1437-ean-> thou shalt ask <0154-aiteo-> of me, I will give <1325-didomi-> [it] thee, unto the half <2255-hemisu-> of my kingdom <0932-basileia->.

:24 And she went <1831-exerchomai-> forth <1831-exerchomai->, and said <2036-epo-> unto her mother <3384-meter->, What <5101-tis-> shall I ask <0154-aiteo->? And she said <2036-epo->, The head <2776-kephale-> of John <2491-Ioannes-> the Baptist <0910-Baptistes->.

:25 And she came <1525-eiserchomai-> in straightway <2112-eutheos-> with haste <4710-spoude-> unto the king <0935-basileus->, and asked <0154-aiteo->, saying <3004-lego->, I will <2309-thelo-> that thou give <1325-didomi-> me by and by in a charger <4094-pinax-> the head <2776-kephale-> of John <2491-Ioannes-> the Baptist <0910-Baptistes->.

:26 And the king <0935-basileus-> was exceeding <4036-perilupos-> sorry <4036-perilupos->; [yet] for his oath's <3727-horkos-> sake, and for their sakes which <3588-ho-> sat <4873-sunanakeimai-> with him, he would <2309-thelo-> not reject <0114-atheteo-> her.

:27 And immediately <2112-eutheos-> the king <0935-basileus-> sent <0649-apostello-> an executioner <4688-spekoulator->, and commanded <2004-epitasso-> his head <2776-kephale-> to be brought <5342-phero->: and he went <0565-aperchomai-> and beheaded <0607-apokephalizo-> him in the prison <5438-phulake->,

:28 And brought <5342-phero-> his head <2776-kephale-> in a charger <4094-pinax->, and gave <1325-didomi-> it to the damsel <2877-korasion->: and the damsel <2877-korasion-> gave <1325-didomi-> it to her mother <3384-meter->.

:29 And when his disciples <3101-mathetes-> heard <0191-akouo-> [of it], they came <2064-erchomai-> and took <0142-airo-> up his corpse <4430-ptoma->, and laid <5087-tithemi-> it in a tomb <3419-mnemeion->.

:30. And the apostles <0652-apostolos-> gathered <4863-sunago-> themselves together <4863-sunago-> unto Jesus <2424-Iesous->, and told <0518-apaggello-> him all <3956-pas-> things, both <5037-te-> what <3745-hosos-> they had done <4160-poieo->, and what <3745-hosos-> they had taught <1321-didasko->.

:31 And he said <2036-epo-> unto them, Come <1205-deute-> ye yourselves <0846-autos-> apart <2398-idios-> into <1519-eis-> a desert <2048-eremos-> place <5117-topos->, and rest <0373-anapano-> a while <3641-oligos->: for there were many <4183-polus-> coming <2064-erchomai-> and going <5217-hupago->, and they had no <3761-oude-> leisure <2119-eukaireo-> so <3761-oude-> much as to eat <5315-phago->.

:32 And they departed <0565-aperchomai-> into <1519-eis-> a desert <2048-eremos-> place <5117-topos-> by ship <4143-ploion-> privately <2398-idios->.

:33 And the people <3793-ochlos-> saw <1492-eido-> them departing <5217-hupago->, and many <4183-polus-> knew <1921-epiginosko-> him, and ran <4936-suntrecho-> afoot <3979-peze-> thither <1563-ekei-> out of all <3956-pas-> cities <4172-polis->, and outwent <4281-proerchomai-> them, and came <4905-sunerchomai-> together <4905-sunerchomai-> unto him.

:34 And Jesus <2424-Iesous->, when he came <1831-exerchomai-> out, saw <1492-eido-> much <4183-polus-> people <3793-ochlos->, and was moved <4697-splagchnizomai-> with compassion <4697-splagchnizomai-> toward <1909-epi-> them, because <3754-hoti-> they were as sheep <4263-probaton-> not having <2192-echo-> a shepherd <4166-poimen->: and he began <0756-archomai-> to teach <1321-didasko-> them many <4183-polus-> things.

:35 And when the day <5610-hora-> was now <2236-hedista-> far <4183-polus-> spent, his disciples <3101-mathetes-> came <4334-proserchomai-> unto him, and said <3004-lego->, This <3588-ho-> is a desert <2048-eremos-> place <5117-topos->, and now <2236-hedista-> the time <5610-hora-> [is] far <4183-polus-> passed:

:36 Send <0630-apoluo-> them away <0630-apoluo->, that they may go <0565-aperchomai-> into <1519-eis-> the country <0068-agros-> round <2943-kuklothen-> about <2945-kukloi->, and into <1519-eis-> the villages <2968-kome->, and buy <0059-agorazo-> themselves <1438-heautou-> bread <0740-artos->: for they have <2192-echo-> nothing <5100-tis-> to eat <5315-phago->.

:37 He answered <0611-apokrinomai-> and said <2036-epo-> unto them, Give <1325-didomi-> ye them to eat <5315-phago->. :48 And he saw <1492-eido-> them toiling <0928-basanizo-> in rowing <1643-elauno->; for the wind <0417-anemos-> was contrary <1727-enantios-> unto them: and about <4012-peri-> the fourth <5067-tetartos-> watch <5438-phulake-> of the night <3571-nux-> he cometh <2064-erchomai-> unto them, walking <4043-peripateo-> upon the sea <2281-thalassa->, and would <2309-thelo-> have passed <3928-parerchomai-> by them.

:5 Then <1899-epeita-> the Pharisees <5330-Pharisaios-> and scribes <1122-grammateus-> asked <1905-eperotao-> him, Why <1302-diati-> walk <4043-peripateo-> not thy disciples <3101-mathetes-> according <2596-kata-> to the tradition <3862-paradosis-> of the elders <4245-presbuteros->, but eat <2068-esthio-> bread <0740-artos-> with unwashen <0449-aniptos-> hands <5495-cheir->?

:6 He answered <0611-apokrinomai-> and said <2036-epo-> unto them, Well <2573-kalos-> hath Esaias <2268-Hesaias-> prophesied <4395-propheteuo-> of you hypocrites <5273-hupokrites->, as it is written <1125-grapho->, This <3778-houtos-> people <2992-laos-> honoureth <5091-timao-> me with [their] lips <5491-cheilos->, but their heart <2588-kardia-> is far <4206-porrho-> from me.

:7 Howbeit in vain <3155-maten-> do they worship <4576-sebomai-> me, teaching <1321-didasko-> [for] doctrines <1319-didaskalia-> the commandments <1778-entalma-> of men <0444-anthropos->.

:8 For laying <0863-aphiemi-> aside <0863-aphiemi-> the commandment <1785-entole-> of God <2316-theos->, ye hold <2902-krateo-> the tradition <3862-paradosis-> of men <0444-anthropos->, [as] the washing <0909-baptismos-> of pots <3582-xestes-> and cups <4221-poterion->: and many <4183-polus-> other <0243-allos-> such <5108-toioutos-> like <3946-paromoios-> things ye do <4160-poieo->.

:9 And he said <3004-lego-> unto them, Full well <2573-kalos-> ye reject <0114-atheteo-> the commandment <1785-entole-> of God <2316-theos->, that ye may keep <5083-tereo-> your <5216-humon-> own tradition <3862-paradosis->.

:10 For Moses <3475-Moseus-> said <2036-epo->, Honour <5091-timao-> thy father <3962-pater-> and thy mother <3384-meter->; and, Whoso <3588-ho-> curseth <2551-kakologeo-> father <3962-pater-> or <2228-e-> mother <3384-meter->, let him die <5053-teleutao-> the death <2288-thanatos->:

:11 But ye say <3004-lego->, If <1437-ean-> a man <0444-anthropos-> shall say <2036-epo-> to his father <3962-pater-> or <2228-e-> mother <3384-meter->, [It is] Corban <2878-korban->, that is to say, a gift <1435-doron->, by whatsoever <1437-ean-> thou mightest be profited <5623-opheleo-> by me; [he shall be free].

:12 And ye suffer <0863-aphiemi-> him no <3765-ouketi-> more <3765-ouketi-> to do <4160-poieo-> ought <3762-oudeis-> for his father <3962-pater-> or <2228-e-> his mother <3384-meter->;

:14 And when he had called <4341-proskaleomai-> all <3956-pas-> the people <3793-ochlos-> [unto him], he said <3004-lego-> unto them, Hearken <0191-akouo-> unto me every <3956-pas-> one [of you], and understand <4920-suniemi->:

:15 There is nothing <3762-oudeis-> from without <1855-exothen-> a man <0444-anthropos->, that entering <1531-eisporeuomai-> into <1519-eis-> him can <1410-dunamai-> defile <2840-koinoo-> him: but the things which come <1607-ekporeuomai-> out of him, those <1565-ekeinos-> are they that defile <2840-koinoo-> the man <0444-anthropos->.

:16 If <1487-ei-> any <1536-ei tis-> man have <2192-echo-> ears <3775-ous-> to hear <0191-akouo->, let him hear <0191-akouo->.

:17 And when <3753-hote-> he was entered <1525-eiserchomai-> into <1519-eis-> the house <3624-oikos-> from the people <3793-ochlos->, his disciples <3101-mathetes-> asked <1905-eperotao-> him concerning <4012-peri-> the parable <3850-parabole->.

:18 And he saith <3004-lego-> unto them, Are ye so <3779-houto-> without <0801-asunetos-> understanding <0801-asunetos-> also <2532-kai->? Do ye not perceive <3539-noieo->, that whatsoever <3956-pas-> thing from without <1855-exothen-> entereth <1531-eisporeuomai-> into <1519-eis-> the man <0444-anthropos->, [it] cannot <1410-dunamai-> defile <2840-koinoo-> him;

:19 Because <3754-hoti-> it entereth <1531-eisporeuomai-> not into <1519-eis-> his heart <2588-kardia->, but into <1519-eis-> the belly <2836-koilia->, and goeth <1607-ekporeuomai-> out into <1519-eis-> the draught <0856-aphedron->, purging <2511-katharizo-> all <3956-pas-> meats <1033-broma->?

:22 Thefts <2829-klope->, covetousness <4124-pleonexia->, wickedness <4189-poneria->, deceit <1388-dolos->, lasciviousness <0766-aselgeia->, an evil <4190-poneros-> eye <3788-ophthalmos->, blasphemy <0988-blasphemia->, pride <5243-huperephania->, foolishness <0877-aphrosune->:

:23 All <3956-pas-> these <5023-tauta-> evil <4190-poneros-> things come <1607-ekporeuomai-> from within <2081-esothen->, and defile <2840-koinoo-> the man <0444-anthropos->.

:24. And from thence <1564-ekeithen-> he arose <0450-anistemi->, and went <0565-aperchomai-> into <1519-eis-> the borders <3181-methorios-> of Tyre <5184-Turos-> and Sidon <4605-Sidon->, and entered <1525-eiserchomai-> into <1519-eis-> an house <3614-oikia->, and would <2309-thelo-> have no <3762-oudeis-> man <3762-oudeis-> know <1097-ginosko-> [it]: but he could <1410-dunamai-> not be hid <2990-lanthano->.

:25 For a [certain] woman <1135-gune->, whose <3739-hos-> young <2365-thugatrion-> daughter <2365-thugatrion-> had <2192-echo-> an unclean <0169-akathartos-> spirit <4151-pneuma->, heard <0191-akouo-> of him, and came <2064-erchomai-> and fell <4363-prospipto-> at <4314-pros-> his feet <4228-pous->:

:26 The woman <1135-gune-> was a Greek <1674-Hellenis->, a Syrophenician <4949-Surophoinissa-> by nation <1085-genos->; and she besought <2065-erotao-> him that he would cast <1544-ekballo-> forth <1544-ekballo-> the devil <1140-daimonion-> out of her daughter <2364-thugater->.

:27 But Jesus <2424-Iesous-> said <2036-epo-> unto her, Let <0863-aphiemi-> the children <5043-teknon-> first <4412-proton-> be filled <5526-chortazo->: for it is not meet <2570-kalos-> to take <2983-lambano-> the children's <5043-teknon-> bread <0740-artos->, and to cast <0906-ballo-> [it] unto the dogs <2952-kunarion->.

:30 And when she was come <0565-aperchomai-> to her house <3624-oikos->, she found <2147-heurisko-> the devil <1140-daimonion-> gone <1831-exerchomai-> out, and her daughter <2364-thugater-> laid <0906-ballo-> upon the bed <2825-kline->.

:31. And again <3825-palin->, departing <1831-exerchomai-> from the coasts <3725-horion-> of Tyre <5184-Turos-> and Sidon <4605-Sidon->, he came <2064-erchomai-> unto the sea <2281-thalassa-> of Galilee <1056-Galilaia->, through <0303-ana-> the midst <3319-mesos-> of the coasts <3725-horion-> of Decapolis <1179-Dekapolis->.

:32 And they bring <5342-phero-> unto him one that was deaf <2974-kophos->, and had an impediment <3424-mogilalos-> in his speech <3424-mogilalos->; and they beseech <3870-parakaleo-> him to put <2007-epitithemi-> his hand <5495-cheir-> upon him.

:35 And straightway <2112-eutheos-> his ears <0189-akoe-> were opened <1272-dianoigo->, and the string <1199-desmon-> of his tongue <1100-glossa-> was loosed <3089-luo->, and he spake <2980-laleo-> plain <3723-orthos->.

:11 And the Pharisees <5330-Pharisaios-> came <1831-exerchomai-> forth <1831-exerchomai->, and began <0756-archomai-> to question <4802-suzeteo-> with him, seeking <2212-zeteo-> of him a sign <4592-semeion-> from heaven <3772-ouranos->, tempting <3985-peirazo-> him.

:14 Now <2532-kai-> [the disciples] had forgotten <1950-epilanthanomai-> to take <2983-lambano-> bread <0740-artos->, neither <3762-oudeis-> had <2192-echo-> they in the ship <4143-ploion-> with them more <1508-ei me-> than one <1520-heis-> loaf <0740-artos->.

:15 And he charged <1291-diastellomai-> them, saying <3004-lego->, Take heed <3708-horao->, beware <0991-blepo-> of the leaven <2219-zume-> of the Pharisees <5330-Pharisaios->, and [of] the leaven <2219-zume-> of Herod <2264-Herodes->.

:16 And they reasoned <1260-dialogizomai-> among <4314-pros-> themselves <0240-allelon->, saying <3004-lego->, [It is] because <3754-hoti-> we have <2192-echo-> no <3756-ou-> bread <0740-artos->.

:20 And when the seven <2033-hepta-> among <1519-eis-> four <5070-tetrakischilioi-> thousand <5070-tetrakischilioi->, how <4214-posos-> many <4214-posos-> baskets <4711-spuris-> full <4138-pleroma-> of fragments <2801-klasma-> took <0142-airo-> ye up? And they said <2036-epo->, Seven <2033-hepta->.

:21 And he said <3004-lego-> unto them, How <4459-pos-> is it that ye do not understand <4920-suniemi->?

:24 And he looked <0308-anablepo-> up, and said <3004-lego->, I see <0991-blepo-> men <0444-anthropos-> as trees <1186-dendron->, walking <4043-peripateo->.

:25 After <1534-eita-> that he put <2007-epitithemi-> [his] hands <5495-cheir-> again <3825-palin-> upon his eyes <3788-ophthalmos->, and made <4160-poieo-> him look <0308-anablepo-> up: and he was restored <0600-apokathistemi->, and saw <1689-emblepo-> every <0537-hapas-> man clearly <5081-telaugos->.

:26 And he sent <0649-apostello-> him away <0649-apostello-> to his house <3624-oikos->, saying <3004-lego->, Neither <3366-mede-> go <1525-eiserchomai-> into <1519-eis-> the town <2968-kome->, nor <3366-mede-> tell <2036-epo-> [it] to any <5100-tis-> in the town <2968-kome->.

:29 And he saith <3004-lego-> unto them, But whom <5101-tis-> say <3004-lego-> ye that I am <1511-einai->? And Peter <4074-Petros-> answereth <0611-apokrinomai-> and saith <3004-lego-> unto him, Thou art <1488-ei-> the Christ <5547-Christos->.

:30 And he charged <2008-epitimao-> them that they should tell <3004-lego-> no <3367-medeis-> man <3367-medeis-> of him.

:31 And he began <0756-archomai-> to teach <1321-didasko-> them, that the Son <5207-huios-> of man <0444-anthropos-> must <1163-dei-> suffer <3958-pascho-> many <4183-polus-> things, and be rejected <0593-apodokimazo-> of the elders <4245-presbuteros->, and [of] the chief <0749-archiereus-> priests <0749-archiereus->, and scribes <1122-grammateus->, and be killed <0615-apokteino->, and after <3326-meta-> three <5140-treis-> days <2250-hemera-> rise <0450-anistemi-> again <0450-anistemi->.

:32 And he spake <2980-laleo-> that saying <3056-logos-> openly <3954-parrhesia->. And Peter <4074-Petros-> took <4355-proslambano-> him, and began <0756-archomai-> to rebuke <2008-epitimao-> him.

:33 But when he had turned <1994-epistrepho-> about <1994-epistrepho-> and looked <1492-eido-> on his disciples <3101-mathetes->, he rebuked <2008-epitimao-> Peter <4074-Petros->, saying <3004-lego->, Get <5217-hupago-> thee behind <3694-opiso-> me, Satan <4567-Satanas->: for thou savourest <5426-phroneo-> not the things that be of God <2316-theos->, but the things that be of men <0444-anthropos->.

:34 And when he had called <4341-proskaleomai-> the people <3793-ochlos-> [unto him] with his disciples <3101-mathetes-> also, he said <2036-epo-> unto them, Whosoever <3748-hostis-> will <2309-thelo-> come <2064-erchomai-> after <3694-opiso-> me, let him deny <0533-aparneomai-> himself <1438-heautou->, and take <0142-airo-> up his cross <4716-stauros->, and follow <0190-akoloutheo-> me.

:35 For whosoever <0302-an-> will <2309-thelo-> save <4982-sozo-> his life <5590-psuche-> shall lose <0622-apollumi-> it; but whosoever <0302-an-> shall lose <0622-apollumi-> his life <5590-psuche-> for my sake <1752-heneka-> and the gospel's <2098-euaggelion->, the same <3778-houtos-> shall save <4982-sozo-> it.

:36 For what <5101-tis-> shall it profit <5623-opheleo-> a man <0444-anthropos->, if <1437-ean-> he shall gain <2770-kerdaino-> the whole <3650-holos-> world <2889-kosmos->, and lose <2210-zemioo-> his own soul <5590-psuche->?

:37 Or <2228-e-> what <5101-tis-> shall a man <0444-anthropos-> give <1325-didomi-> in exchange <0465-antallagma-> for his soul <5590-psuche->?

:38 Whosoever <0302-an-> therefore <1063-gar-> shall be ashamed <1870-epaischunomai-> of me and of my words <3056-logos-> in this <5026-taute-> adulterous <3428-moichalis-> and sinful <0268-hamartolos-> generation <1074-genea->; of him also <2532-kai-> shall the Son <5207-huios-> of man <0444-anthropos-> be ashamed <1870-epaischunomai->, when <3752-hotan-> he cometh <2064-erchomai-> in the glory <1391-doxa-> of his Father <3962-pater-> with the holy <0040-hagios-> angels <0032-aggelos->.

:1. :3 And his raiment <2440-himation-> became <1096-ginomai-> shining <4744-stilbo->, exceeding <3029-lian-> white <3022-leukos-> as snow <5510-chion->; so <3634-hoios-> as no <3756-ou-> fuller <1102-gnapheus-> on <1909-epi-> earth <1093-ge-> can <1410-dunamai-> white <3021-leukaino-> them.

:4 And there appeared <3700-optanomai-> unto them Elias <2243-Helias-> with Moses <3475-Moseus->: and they were talking <4814-sullaleo-> with Jesus <2424-Iesous->.

:5 And Peter <4074-Petros-> answered <0611-apokrinomai-> and said <3004-lego-> to Jesus <2424-Iesous->, Master <4461-rhabbi->, it is good <2750-keiria-> for us to be here <5602-hode->: and let us make <4160-poieo-> three <5140-treis-> tabernacles <4633-skene->; one <3391-mia-> for thee, and one for Moses <3475-Moseus->, and one for Elias <2243-Helias->.

:6 For he wist <1492-eido-> not what <5101-tis-> to say <2980-laleo->; for they were sore <1630-ekphobos-> afraid <1630-ekphobos->.

:7 And there was a cloud <3507-nephele-> that overshadowed <1982-episkiazo-> them: and a voice <5456-phone-> came <2064-erchomai-> out of the cloud <3507-nephele->, saying <3004-lego->, This <3778-houtos-> is my beloved <0027-agapetos-> Son <5207-huios->: hear <0191-akouo-> him.

:8 And suddenly <1819-exapina->, when they had looked <4017-periblepo-> round <4017-periblepo-> about <4017-periblepo->, they saw <1492-eido-> no <3762-oudeis-> man <3762-oudeis-> any <3765-ouketi-> more <3765-ouketi->, save <0235-alla-> Jesus <2424-Iesous-> only <3441-monos-> with themselves <1438-heautou->.

:9 And as they came <2597-katabaino-> down <2597-katabaino-> from the mountain <3735-oros->, he charged <1291-diastellomai-> them that they should tell <1334-diegeomai-> no <3367-medeis-> man <3367-medeis-> what <3739-hos-> things they had seen <1492-eido->, till <3752-hotan-> the Son <5207-huios-> of man <0444-anthropos-> were risen <0450-anistemi-> from the dead <3498-nekros->.

:10 And they kept <2902-krateo-> that saying <3056-logos-> with themselves <1438-heautou->, questioning <4802-suzeteo-> one with another <1438-heautou-> what <5101-tis-> the rising <0305-anabaino-> from the dead <3498-nekros-> should mean <2076-esti->.

:11 And they asked <1905-eperotao-> him, saying <3004-lego->, Why <3754-hoti-> say <3004-lego-> the scribes <1122-grammateus-> that Elias <2243-Helias-> must <1163-dei-> first <4412-proton-> come <2064-erchomai->?

:12 And he answered <0611-apokrinomai-> and told <2036-epo-> them, Elias <2243-Helias-> verily <3303-men-> cometh <2064-erchomai-> first <4412-proton->, and restoreth <0600-apokathistemi-> all <3956-pas-> things; and how <4459-pos-> it is written <1125-grapho-> of the Son <5207-huios-> of man <0444-anthropos->, that he must suffer <3958-pascho-> many <4183-polus-> things, and be set <1847-exoudenoo-> at <1847-exoudenoo-> nought <1847-exoudenoo->.

:13 But I say <3004-lego-> unto you, That Elias <2243-Helias-> is indeed <2532-kai-> come <2064-erchomai->, and they have done <4160-poieo-> unto him whatsoever <3745-hosos-> they listed <2309-thelo->, as it is written <1125-grapho-> of him.

:14. And when he came <2064-erchomai-> to [his] disciples <3101-mathetes->, he saw <1492-eido-> a great <4183-polus-> multitude <3793-ochlos-> about <4012-peri-> them, and the scribes <1122-grammateus-> questioning <4802-suzeteo-> with them.

:15 And straightway <2112-eutheos-> all <3956-pas-> the people <3793-ochlos->, when they beheld <1492-eido-> him, were greatly <1568-ekthambeo-> amazed <1568-ekthambeo->, and running <4370-prostrecho-> to [him] saluted <0782-aspazomai-> him.

:16 And he asked <1905-eperotao-> the scribes <1122-grammateus->, What <5101-tis-> question <4802-suzeteo-> ye with them?

:17 And one <1520-heis-> of the multitude <3793-ochlos-> answered <0611-apokrinomai-> and said <2036-epo->, Master <1320-didaskalos->, I have brought <5342-phero-> unto thee my son <5207-huios->, which hath <2192-echo-> a dumb <0216-alalos-> spirit <4151-pneuma->;

:18 And wheresoever <0302-an-> he taketh <2638-katalambano-> him, he teareth <4486-rhegnumi-> him: and he foameth <0875-aphrizo->, and gnasheth <5149-trizo-> with his teeth <3599-odous->, and pineth <3583-xeraino-> away: and I spake <2036-epo-> to thy disciples <3101-mathetes-> that they should cast <1544-ekballo-> him out; and they could <2489-Ioanna-> not.

:19 He answereth <0611-apokrinomai-> him, and saith <3004-lego->, O faithless <0571-apistos-> generation <1074-genea->, how <2193-heos-> long <2193-heos-> shall I be with you? how <2193-heos-> long <2193-heos-> shall I suffer <0430-anechomai-> you? bring <5342-phero-> him unto me.

:20 And they brought <5342-phero-> him unto him: and when he saw <1492-eido-> him, straightway <2112-eutheos-> the spirit <4151-pneuma-> tare <4682-sparasso-> him; and he fell <4098-pipto-> on <1909-epi-> the ground <1093-ge->, and wallowed <2947-kulioo-> foaming <0875-aphrizo->.

:21 And he asked <1905-eperotao-> his father <3962-pater->, How <4214-posos-> long <4214-posos-> is it ago since <5613-hos-> this <5124-touto-> came <1096-ginomai-> unto him? And he said <2036-epo->, Of a child <3812-paidiothen->.

:22 And ofttimes <4178-pollakis-> it hath cast <0906-ballo-> him into <1519-eis-> the fire <4442-pur->, and into <1519-eis-> the waters <5204-hudor->, to destroy <0622-apollumi-> him: but if thou canst <1410-dunamai-> do any <1536-ei tis-> thing, have compassion <4697-splagchnizomai-> on <1909-epi-> us, and help <0997-boetheo-> us.

:23 Jesus <2424-Iesous-> said <2036-epo-> unto him, If <1487-ei-> thou canst <1410-dunamai-> believe <4100-pisteuo->, all <3956-pas-> things [are] possible <1415-dunatos-> to him that believeth <4100-pisteuo->.

:24 And straightway <2112-eutheos-> the father <3962-pater-> of the child <3813-paidion-> cried <2896-krazo-> out, and said <3004-lego-> with tears <1144-dakru->, Lord <2962-kurios->, I believe <4100-pisteuo->; help <0997-boetheo-> thou mine <3450-mou-> unbelief <0570-apaistia->.

:25 When Jesus <2424-Iesous-> saw <1492-eido-> that the people <3793-ochlos-> came <1998-episuntrecho-> running <1998-episuntrecho-> together <1998-episuntrecho->, he rebuked <2008-epitimao-> the foul <0169-akathartos-> spirit <4151-pneuma->, saying <3004-lego-> unto him, [Thou] dumb <0216-alalos-> and deaf <2974-kophos-> spirit <4151-pneuma->, I charge <2004-epitasso-> thee, come <1831-exerchomai-> out of him, and enter <1525-eiserchomai-> no <3371-meketi-> more <3371-meketi-> into <1519-eis-> him.

:26 And [the spirit] cried <2896-krazo->, and rent <4682-sparasso-> him sore <4183-polus->, and came <1831-exerchomai-> out of him: and he was as one dead <3498-nekros->; insomuch <5620-hoste-> that many <4183-polus-> said <3004-lego->, He is dead <0599-apothnesko->.

:27 But Jesus <2424-Iesous-> took <2902-krateo-> him by the hand <5495-cheir->, and lifted <1453-egeiro-> him up; and he arose <0450-anistemi->.

:28 And when he was come <1525-eiserchomai-> into <1519-eis-> the house <3624-oikos->, his disciples <3101-mathetes-> asked <1905-eperotao-> him privately <2398-idios->, Why <3754-hoti-> could <1410-dunamai-> not we cast <1544-ekballo-> him out?

:29 And he said <2036-epo-> unto them, This <5124-touto-> kind <1085-genos-> can <1410-dunamai-> come <1831-exerchomai-> forth <1831-exerchomai-> by nothing <3762-oudeis->, but by prayer <4335-proseuche-> and fasting <3521-nesteia->.

:30. And they departed <1831-exerchomai-> thence <1564-ekeithen->, and passed <3899-parapoeruomai-> through <1223-dia-> Galilee <1056-Galilaia->; and he would <2309-thelo-> not that any <5100-tis-> man should know <1097-ginosko-> [it].

:31 For he taught <1321-didasko-> his disciples <3101-mathetes->, and said <3004-lego-> unto them, The Son <5207-huios-> of man <0444-anthropos-> is delivered <3860-paradidomi-> into <1519-eis-> the hands <5495-cheir-> of men <0444-anthropos->, and they shall kill <0615-apokteino-> him; and after that he is killed <0615-apokteino->, he shall rise <0450-anistemi-> the third <5154-tritos-> day <2250-hemera->.

:32 But they understood <0050-agnoeo-> not that saying <4487-rhema->, and were afraid <5399-phobeo-> to ask <1905-eperotao-> him.

:33 And he came <2064-erchomai-> to Capernaum <2584-Kapernaoum->: and being <1096-ginomai-> in the house <3614-oikia-> he asked <1905-eperotao-> them, What <5101-tis-> was it that ye disputed <1260-dialogizomai-> among <4314-pros-> yourselves <1438-heautou-> by the way <3598-hodos->?

:34 But they held <4623-siopao-> their peace <4623-siopao->: for by the way <3598-hodos-> they had disputed <1256-dialegomai-> among <4314-pros-> themselves <0240-allelon->, who <5101-tis-> [should be] the greatest <3187-meizon->.

:35 And he sat <2523-kathizo-> down <2523-kathizo->, and called <5455-phoneo-> the twelve <1427-dodeka->, and saith <3004-lego-> unto them, If <1487-ei-> any <1536-ei tis-> man desire <2309-thelo-> to be first <4413-protos->, [the same] shall be last <2078-eschatos-> of all <3956-pas->, and servant <1249-diakonos-> of all <3956-pas->.

:36 And he took <2983-lambano-> a child <3813-paidion->, and set <2476-histemi-> him in the midst <3319-mesos-> of them: and when he had taken <1723-enagkalizomai-> him in his arms <1723-enagkalizomai->, he said <2036-epo-> unto them,

:37 Whosoever <1437-ean-> shall receive <1209-dechomai-> one <1520-heis-> of such <5108-toioutos-> children <3813-paidion-> in my name <3686-onoma->, receiveth <1209-dechomai-> me: and whosoever <1437-ean-> shall receive <1209-dechomai-> me, receiveth <1209-dechomai-> not me, but him that sent <0649-apostello-> me.

:38 And John <2491-Ioannes-> answered <0611-apokrinomai-> him, saying <3004-lego->, Master <1320-didaskalos->, we saw <1492-eido-> one <5100-tis-> casting <1544-ekballo-> out devils <1140-daimonion-> in thy name <3686-onoma->, and he followeth <0190-akoloutheo-> not us: and we forbad <2967-koluo-> him, because <3754-hoti-> he followeth <0190-akoloutheo-> not us.

:39 But Jesus <2424-Iesous-> said <2036-epo->, Forbid <2967-koluo-> him not: for there is no <3762-oudeis-> man <3762-oudeis-> which <3739-hos-> shall do <4160-poieo-> a miracle <1411-dunamis-> in my name <3686-onoma->, that can <1410-dunamai-> lightly <5035-tachu-> speak <2551-kakologeo-> evil <2551-kakologeo-> of me.

:40 For he that is not against <2596-kata-> us is on <5228-huper-> our part.

:41. For whosoever <0302-an-> shall give <4222-potizo-> you a cup <4221-poterion-> of water <5204-hudor-> to drink <4222-potizo-> in my name <3686-onoma->, because <3754-hoti-> ye belong <1510-eimi-> to Christ <5547-Christos->, verily <0281-amen-> I say <3004-lego-> unto you, he shall not lose <0622-apollumi-> his reward <3408-misthos->.

:42 And whosoever <0302-an-> shall offend <4624-skandalizo-> one <1520-heis-> of [these <3588-ho->] little <3398-mikros-> ones that believe <4100-pisteuo-> in me, it is better <3123-mallon-> for him that a millstone <3457-mulikos-> were hanged <4029-perikeimai-> about <4012-peri-> his neck <5137-trachelos->, and he were cast <0906-ballo-> into <1519-eis-> the sea <2281-thalassa->.

:43 And if <1437-ean-> thy hand <5495-cheir-> offend <4624-skandalizo-> thee, cut <0609-apokopto-> it off <0609-apokopto->: it is better <2570-kalos-> for thee to enter <1525-eiserchomai-> into <1519-eis-> life <2222-zoe-> maimed <2948-kullos->, than <2228-e-> having <2192-echo-> two <1417-duo-> hands <5495-cheir-> to go <0565-aperchomai-> into <1519-eis-> hell <1067-geena->, into <1519-eis-> the fire <4442-pur-> that never <3756-ou-> shall be quenched <0762-asbestos->:

:44 Where <3699-hopou-> their worm <4663-skolex-> dieth <5053-teleutao-> not, and the fire <4442-pur-> is not quenched <4570-sbennumi->.

:45 And if <1437-ean-> thy foot <4228-pous-> offend <4624-skandalizo-> thee, cut <0609-apokopto-> it off <0609-apokopto->: it is better <2570-kalos-> for thee to enter <1525-eiserchomai-> halt <5560-cholos-> into <1519-eis-> life <2222-zoe->, than <2228-e-> having <2192-echo-> two <1417-duo-> feet <4228-pous-> to be cast <0906-ballo-> into <1519-eis-> hell <1067-geena->, into <1519-eis-> the fire <4442-pur-> that never <3756-ou-> shall be quenched <0762-asbestos->:

:46 Where <3699-hopou-> their worm <4663-skolex-> dieth <5053-teleutao-> not, and the fire <4442-pur-> is not quenched <4570-sbennumi->.

:47 And if <1437-ean-> thine <4675-sou-> eye <3788-ophthalmos-> offend <4624-skandalizo-> thee, pluck <1544-ekballo-> it out: it is better <2570-kalos-> for thee to enter <1525-eiserchomai-> into <1519-eis-> the kingdom <0932-basileia-> of God <2316-theos-> with one <3442-monophthalmos-> eye <3442-monophthalmos->, than <2228-e-> having <2192-echo-> two <1417-duo-> eyes <3788-ophthalmos-> to be cast <0906-ballo-> into <1519-eis-> hell <1067-geena-> fire <4442-pur->:

:48 Where <3699-hopou-> their worm <4663-skolex-> dieth <5053-teleutao-> not, and the fire <4442-pur-> is not quenched <4570-sbennumi->.

:49 For every <3956-pas-> one shall be salted <0233-halizo-> with fire <4442-pur->, and every <3956-pas-> sacrifice <2378-thusia-> shall be salted <0233-halizo-> with salt <0251-hals->.

:50 Salt <0217-halas-> [is] good <2750-keiria->: but if <1437-ean-> the salt <0217-halas-> have lost <1096-ginomai-> his saltness <0358-analos->, wherewith <5101-tis-> will ye season <0741-artuo-> it? Have <2192-echo-> salt <0217-halas-> in yourselves <1438-heautou->, and have peace <1518-eirenopoios-> one <0240-allelon-> with another <0240-allelon->.

:3 And he answered <0611-apokrinomai-> and said <2036-epo-> unto them, What <5101-tis-> did Moses <3475-Moseus-> command <1781-entellomai-> you?

:4 And they said <2036-epo->, Moses <3475-Moseus-> suffered <2010-epitrepo-> to write <1125-grapho-> a bill <0975-biblion-> of divorcement <0647-apostasion->, and to put <0630-apoluo-> [her] away <0630-apoluo->.

:5 And Jesus <2424-Iesous-> answered <0611-apokrinomai-> and said <2036-epo-> unto them, For the hardness <4641-sklerokardia-> of your <5216-humon-> heart <4641-sklerokardia-> he wrote <1125-grapho-> you this <5026-taute-> precept <1785-entole->.

:6 But from the beginning <0746-arche-> of the creation <2937-ktisis-> God <2316-theos-> made <4160-poieo-> them male <0730-arrhen-> and female <2338-thelus->.

:7 For this <5127-toutou-> cause <1752-heneka-> shall a man <0444-anthropos-> leave <2641-kataleipo-> his father <3962-pater-> and mother <3384-meter->, and cleave <4347-proskollao-> to his wife <1135-gune->;

:8 And they twain <1417-duo-> shall be one <3391-mia-> flesh <4561-sarx->: so <5620-hoste-> then they are no <3765-ouketi-> more <3765-ouketi-> twain <1417-duo->, but one flesh <4561-sarx->.

:10 And in the house <3614-oikia-> his disciples <3101-mathetes-> asked <1905-eperotao-> him again <3825-palin-> of the same <0846-autos-> [matter].

:11 And he saith <3004-lego-> unto them, Whosoever <1437-ean-> shall put <0630-apoluo-> away <0630-apoluo-> his wife <1135-gune->, and marry <1060-gameo-> another <0243-allos->, committeth <3429-moichao-> adultery <3429-moichao-> against <1909-epi-> her.

:12 And if <1437-ean-> a woman <1135-gune-> shall put <0630-apoluo-> away <0630-apoluo-> her husband <0435-aner->, and be married <1060-gameo-> to another <0243-allos->, she committeth <3429-moichao-> adultery <3429-moichao->.

:13. And they brought <4374-prosphero-> young <3813-paidion-> children <3813-paidion-> to him, that he should touch <0680-haptomai-> them: and [his] disciples <3101-mathetes-> rebuked <2008-epitimao-> those <3588-ho-> that brought <4374-prosphero-> [them].

:14 But when Jesus <2424-Iesous-> saw <1492-eido-> [it], he was much <0023-aganakteo-> displeased <0023-aganakteo->, and said <2036-epo-> unto them, Suffer <0863-aphiemi-> the little <3813-paidion-> children <3813-paidion-> to come <2064-erchomai-> unto me, and forbid <2967-koluo-> them not: for of such <5108-toioutos-> is the kingdom <0932-basileia-> of God <2316-theos->.

:15 Verily <0281-amen-> I say <3004-lego-> unto you, Whosoever <1437-ean-> shall not receive <1209-dechomai-> the kingdom <0932-basileia-> of God <2316-theos-> as a little <3813-paidion-> child <3813-paidion->, he shall not enter <1525-eiserchomai-> therein <0846-autos->.

:16 And he took <1723-enagkalizomai-> them up in his arms <1723-enagkalizomai->, put <5087-tithemi-> [his] hands <5495-cheir-> upon them, and blessed <2127-eulogeo-> them.

:19 Thou knowest <1492-eido-> the commandments <1785-entole->, Do not commit <3431-moicheuo-> adultery <3431-moicheuo->, Do not kill <5407-phoneuo->, Do not steal <2813-klepto->, Do not bear <5576-pseudomartureo-> false <5576-pseudomartureo-> witness <5576-pseudomartureo->, Defraud <0650-apostereo-> not, Honour <5091-timao-> thy father <3962-pater-> and mother <3384-meter->.

:20 And he answered <0611-apokrinomai-> and said <2036-epo-> unto him, Master <1320-didaskalos->, all <3956-pas-> these <5023-tauta-> have I observed <5442-phulasso-> from my youth <3503-neotes->.

:24 And the disciples <3101-mathetes-> were astonished <2284-thambeo-> at <1909-epi-> his words <3056-logos->. But Jesus <2424-Iesous-> answereth <0611-apokrinomai-> again <3825-palin->, and saith <3004-lego-> unto them, Children <5043-teknon->, how <4459-pos-> hard <1422-duskolos-> is it for them that trust <3982-peitho-> in riches <5536-chrema-> to enter <1525-eiserchomai-> into <1519-eis-> the kingdom <0932-basileia-> of God <2316-theos->!

:25 It is easier <2123-eukopoteros-> for a camel <2574-kamelos-> to go <1525-eiserchomai-> through <1223-dia-> the eye <5168-trumalia-> of a needle <4476-rhaphis->, than <2228-e-> for a rich <4145-plousios-> man to enter <1525-eiserchomai-> into <1519-eis-> the kingdom <0932-basileia-> of God <2316-theos->.

:26 And they were astonished <1605-ekplesso-> out of measure <4057-perissos->, saying <3004-lego-> among <4314-pros-> themselves <1438-heautou->, Who <5101-tis-> then can <1410-dunamai-> be saved <4982-sozo->?

:27 And Jesus <2424-Iesous-> looking <1689-emblepo-> upon them saith <3004-lego->, With men <0444-anthropos-> [it is] impossible <0102-adunatos->, but not with God <2316-theos->: for with God <2316-theos-> all <3956-pas-> things are possible <1415-dunatos->.

:36 And he said <2036-epo-> unto them, What <5101-tis-> would <2309-thelo-> ye that I should do <4160-poieo-> for you?

:37 They said <2036-epo-> unto him, Grant <1325-didomi-> unto us that we may sit <2523-kathizo->, one <1520-heis-> on <1537-ek-> thy right <1188-dexios-> hand, and the other <1520-heis-> on <1537-ek-> thy left <2176-euonumos-> hand, in thy glory <1391-doxa->.

:38 But Jesus <2424-Iesous-> said <2036-epo-> unto them, Ye know <1492-eido-> not what <5101-tis-> ye ask <0154-aiteo->: can <1410-dunamai-> ye drink <4095-pino-> of the cup <4221-poterion-> that I drink <4095-pino-> of? and be baptized <0907-baptizo-> with the baptism <0908-baptisma-> that I am baptized <0907-baptizo-> with?

:39 And they said <2036-epo-> unto him, We can <1410-dunamai->. :42 But Jesus <2424-Iesous-> called <4341-proskaleomai-> them [to him], and saith <3004-lego-> unto them, Ye know <1492-eido-> that they which are accounted <1380-dokeo-> to rule <0757-archo-> over the Gentiles <1484-ethnos-> exercise <2634-katakurieuo-> lordship <2634-katakurieuo-> over them; and their great <3173-megas-> ones exercise <2715-katexousiazo-> authority <2715-katexousiazo-> upon them.

:43 But so <3779-houto-> shall it not be among <1722-en-> you: but whosoever <1437-ean-> will <2309-thelo-> be great <3173-megas-> among <1722-en-> you, shall be your <5216-humon-> minister <1249-diakonos->:

:44 And whosoever <0302-an-> of you will <2309-thelo-> be the chiefest <4413-protos->, shall be servant <1401-doulos-> of all <3956-pas->.

:45 For even <2532-kai-> the Son <5207-huios-> of man <0444-anthropos-> came <2064-erchomai-> not to be ministered <1247-diakoneo-> unto, but to minister <1247-diakoneo->, and to give <1325-didomi-> his life <5590-psuche-> a ransom <3083-lutron-> for many <4183-polus->.

:4 And they went <0565-aperchomai-> their way, and found <2147-heurisko-> the colt <4454-polos-> tied <1210-deo-> by the door <2374-thura-> without <1854-exo-> in a place where <0296-amphodon-> two <0296-amphodon-> ways <0296-amphodon-> met <0296-amphodon->; and they loose <3089-luo-> him.

:5 And certain <5100-tis-> of them that stood <2476-histemi-> there <1563-ekei-> said <3004-lego-> unto them, What <5101-tis-> do <4160-poieo-> ye, loosing <3089-luo-> the colt <4454-polos->?

:6 And they said <2036-epo-> unto them even <2531-kathos-> as Jesus <2424-Iesous-> had commanded <1781-entellomai->: and they let <0863-aphiemi-> them go <0863-aphiemi->.

:7 And they brought <0071-ago-> the colt <4454-polos-> to Jesus <2424-Iesous->, and cast <1911-epiballo-> their garments <2440-himation-> on <1911-epiballo-> him; and he sat <2523-kathizo-> upon him.

:10 Blessed <2127-eulogeo-> [be] the kingdom <0932-basileia-> of our father <3962-pater-> David <1138-Dabid->, that cometh <2064-erchomai-> in the name <3686-onoma-> of the Lord <2962-kurios->: Hosanna <5614-hosanna-> in the highest <5310-hupsistos->.

:13 And seeing <1492-eido-> a fig <4808-suke-> tree <4808-suke-> afar <3113-makrothen-> off having <2192-echo-> leaves <5444-phullon->, he came <2064-erchomai->, if <1487-ei-> haply <0686-ara-> he might find <2147-heurisko-> any <1536-ei tis-> thing thereon <0846-autos->: and when he came <2064-erchomai-> to it, he found <2147-heurisko-> nothing <3762-oudeis-> but leaves <5444-phullon->; for the time <2540-kairos-> of figs <4810-sukon-> was not [yet].

:15 And they come <2064-erchomai-> to Jerusalem <2414-Hierosoluma->: and Jesus <2424-Iesous-> went <1525-eiserchomai-> into <1519-eis-> the temple <2411-hieron->, and began <0756-archomai-> to cast <1544-ekballo-> out them that sold <4453-poleo-> and bought <0059-agorazo-> in the temple <2411-hieron->, and overthrew <2690-katastrepho-> the tables <5132-trapeza-> of the moneychangers <2855-kollubistes->, and the seats <2515-kathedra-> of them that sold <4453-poleo-> doves <4058-peristera->;

:16 And would not suffer <0863-aphiemi-> that any <1536-ei tis-> man should carry <1308-diaphero-> [any] vessel <4632-skeuos-> through <1223-dia-> the temple <2411-hieron->.

:17 And he taught <1321-didasko->, saying <3004-lego-> unto them, Is it not written <1125-grapho->, My house <3624-oikos-> shall be called <2564-kaleo-> of all <3956-pas-> nations <1484-ethnos-> the house <3624-oikos-> of prayer <4335-proseuche->? but ye have made <4160-poieo-> it a den <4693-spelaion-> of thieves <3027-leistes->.

:18 And the scribes <1122-grammateus-> and chief <0749-archiereus-> priests <0749-archiereus-> heard <0191-akouo-> [it], and sought <2212-zeteo-> how <4459-pos-> they might destroy <0622-apollumi-> him: for they feared <5399-phobeo-> him, because <3754-hoti-> all <3956-pas-> the people <3793-ochlos-> was astonished <1605-ekplesso-> at <1909-epi-> his doctrine <1322-didache->.

:19 And when <3753-hote-> even <3796-opse-> was come <1096-ginomai->, he went <1607-ekporeuomai-> out of the city <4172-polis->.

:20 And in the morning <4404-proi->, as they passed <3899-parapoeruomai-> by, they saw <1492-eido-> the fig <4808-suke-> tree <4808-suke-> dried <3583-xeraino-> up from the roots <4491-rhiza->.

:21 And Peter <4074-Petros-> calling <0363-anamimnesko-> to remembrance <0363-anamimnesko-> saith <3004-lego-> unto him, Master <4461-rhabbi->, behold <2396-ide->, the fig <4808-suke-> tree <4808-suke-> which <3739-hos-> thou cursedst <2672-kataraomai-> is withered <3583-xeraino-> away.

:22 And Jesus <2424-Iesous-> answering <0611-apokrinomai-> saith <3004-lego-> unto them, Have <2192-echo-> faith <4102-pistis-> in God <2316-theos->.

:23 For verily <0281-amen-> I say <3004-lego-> unto you, That whosoever <0302-an-> shall say <2036-epo-> unto this <5129-toutoi-> mountain <3735-oros->, Be thou removed <0142-airo->, and be thou cast <0906-ballo-> into the sea <2281-thalassa->; and shall not doubt <1252-diakrino-> in his heart <2588-kardia->, but shall believe <4100-pisteuo-> that those things which <3739-hos-> he saith <3004-lego-> shall come <1096-ginomai-> to pass; he shall have <2071-esomai-> whatsoever <0302-an-> he saith <3004-lego->.

:24 Therefore <5124-touto-> I say <3004-lego-> unto you, What <3745-hosos-> things soever <0302-an-> ye desire <0154-aiteo->, when ye pray <4336-proseuchomai->, believe <4100-pisteuo-> that ye receive <2983-lambano-> [them], and ye shall have <2071-esomai-> [them].

:25 And when <3752-hotan-> ye stand <4739-steko-> praying <4336-proseuchomai->, forgive <0863-aphiemi->, if <1487-ei-> ye have <2192-echo-> ought <5100-tis-> against <2596-kata-> any <1536-ei tis->: that your <5216-humon-> Father <3962-pater-> also <2532-kai-> which <3588-ho-> is in heaven <3772-ouranos-> may forgive <0863-aphiemi-> you your <5216-humon-> trespasses <3900-paraptoma->.

:26 But if <1487-ei-> ye do not forgive <0863-aphiemi->, neither <3761-oude-> will your <5216-humon-> Father <3962-pater-> which <3588-ho-> is in heaven <3772-ouranos-> forgive <0863-aphiemi-> your <5216-humon-> trespasses <3900-paraptoma->.

:27. And they come <2064-erchomai-> again <3825-palin-> to Jerusalem <2414-Hierosoluma->: and as he was walking <4043-peripateo-> in the temple <2411-hieron->, there come <2064-erchomai-> to him the chief <0749-archiereus-> priests <0749-archiereus->, and the scribes <1122-grammateus->, and the elders <4245-presbuteros->,

:30 The baptism <0908-baptisma-> of John <2491-Ioannes->, was [it] from heaven <3772-ouranos->, or <2228-e-> of men <0444-anthropos->? answer <0611-apokrinomai-> me.

:31 And they reasoned <3049-logizomai-> with themselves <1438-heautou->, saying <3004-lego->, If <1437-ean-> we shall say <2036-epo->, From heaven <3772-ouranos->; he will say <2046-ereo->, Why <1302-diati-> then <3767-oun-> did ye not believe <4100-pisteuo-> him?

:Mark 12

:7 But those <1565-ekeinos-> husbandmen <1092-georgos-> said <2036-epo-> among <4314-pros-> themselves <1438-heautou->, This <3778-houtos-> is the heir <2818-kleronomos->; come <1205-deute->, let us kill <0615-apokteino-> him, and the inheritance <2817-kleronomia-> shall be ours <2257-hemon->.

:8 And they took <2983-lambano-> him, and killed <0615-apokteino-> [him], and cast <1544-ekballo-> [him] out of the vineyard <0290-ampelon->.

:9 What <5101-tis-> shall therefore <3767-oun-> the lord <2962-kurios-> of the vineyard <0290-ampelon-> do <4160-poieo->? he will come <2064-erchomai-> and destroy <0622-apollumi-> the husbandmen <1092-georgos->, and will give <1325-didomi-> the vineyard <0290-ampelon-> unto others <0243-allos->.

:10 And have ye not read <0314-anaginosko-> this <5026-taute-> scripture <1124-graphe->; The stone <3037-lithos-> which <3739-hos-> the builders <3618-oikodomeo-> rejected <0593-apodokimazo-> is become <1519-eis-> the head <2776-kephale-> of the corner <1137-gonia->:

:11 This <3778-houtos-> was the Lord's <2962-kurios-> doing <1096-ginomai->, and it is marvellous <2298-thaumastos-> in our eyes <3788-ophthalmos->?

:12 And they sought <2212-zeteo-> to lay hold <2902-krateo-> on him, but feared <5399-phobeo-> the people <3793-ochlos->: for they knew <1097-ginosko-> that he had spoken <2036-epo-> the parable <3850-parabole-> against <4314-pros-> them: and they left <0863-aphiemi-> him, and went <0565-aperchomai-> their way.

:14 And when they were come <2064-erchomai->, they say <3004-lego-> unto him, Master <1320-didaskalos->, we know <1492-eido-> that thou art <1488-ei-> true <0227-alethes->, and carest <3199-melo-> for no <3762-oudeis-> man <0444-anthropos->: for thou regardest <0991-blepo-> not the person <4383-prosopon-> of men <0444-anthropos->, but teachest <1321-didasko-> the way <3598-hodos-> of God <2316-theos-> in truth <0225-aletheia->: Is it lawful <1832-exesti-> to give <1325-didomi-> tribute <2778-kensos-> to Caesar <2541-Kaisar->, or <2228-e-> not?

:15 Shall we give <1325-didomi->, or <2228-e-> shall we not give <1325-didomi->? But he, knowing <1492-eido-> their hypocrisy <5272-hupokrisis->, said <2036-epo-> unto them, Why <5101-tis-> tempt <3985-peirazo-> ye me? bring <5342-phero-> me a penny <1220-denarion->, that I may see <1492-eido-> [it].

:16 And they brought <5342-phero-> [it]. And he saith <3004-lego-> unto them, Whose <5101-tis-> [is] this <3778-houtos-> image <1504-eikon-> and superscription <1923-epigraphe->? And they said <2036-epo-> unto him, Caesar's <2541-Kaisar->.

:17 And Jesus <2424-Iesous-> answering <0611-apokrinomai-> said <2036-epo-> unto them, Render <0591-apodidomi-> to Caesar <2541-Kaisar-> the things that are Caesar's <2541-Kaisar->, and to God <2316-theos-> the things that are God's <2316-theos->. :25 For when <3752-hotan-> they shall rise <0450-anistemi-> from the dead <3498-nekros->, they neither <3777-oute-> marry <1060-gameo->, nor <3777-oute-> are given in marriage <1061-gamisko->; but are as the angels <0032-aggelos-> which <3588-ho-> are in heaven <3772-ouranos->.

:26 And as touching <4012-peri-> the dead <3498-nekros->, that they rise <1453-egeiro->: have ye not read <0314-anaginosko-> in the book <0976-biblos-> of Moses <3475-Moseus->, how <5613-hos-> in the bush <0942-batos-> God <2316-theos-> spake <2036-epo-> unto him, saying <3004-lego->, I [am] the God <2316-theos-> of Abraham <11>, and the God <2316-theos-> of Isaac <2464-Isaak->, and the God <2316-theos-> of Jacob <2384-Iakob->?

:27 He is not the God <2316-theos-> of the dead <3498-nekros->, but the God <2316-theos-> of the living <2198-zao->: ye therefore <3767-oun-> do greatly <4183-polus-> err <4105-planao->.

:28. :29 And Jesus <2424-Iesous-> answered <0611-apokrinomai-> him, The first <4413-protos-> of all <3956-pas-> the commandments <1785-entole-> [is], Hear <0191-akouo->, O Israel <2474-Israel->; The Lord <2962-kurios-> our God <2316-theos-> is one <1520-heis-> Lord <2962-kurios->:

:32 And the scribe <1122-grammateus-> said <2036-epo-> unto him, Well <2573-kalos->, Master <1320-didaskalos->, thou hast said <2036-epo-> the truth <0225-aletheia->: for there is one <1520-heis-> God <2316-theos->; and there is none <3756-ou-> other <0243-allos-> but he:

:34 And when Jesus <2424-Iesous-> saw <1492-eido-> that he answered <0611-apokrinomai-> discreetly <3562-nounechos->, he said <2036-epo-> unto him, Thou art <1488-ei-> not far <3112-makran-> from the kingdom <0932-basileia-> of God <2316-theos->. And no <3762-oudeis-> man <3762-oudeis-> after <3765-ouketi-> that durst <5111-tolmao-> ask <1905-eperotao-> him [any question].

:39 And the chief <4410-protokathedria-> seats <4410-protokathedria-> in the synagogues <4864-sunagoge->, and the uppermost <4411-protoklisia-> rooms <4411-protoklisia-> at <1722-en-> feasts <1173-deipnon->:

:40 Which <3739-hos-> devour <2719-katesthio-> widows <5503-chera->' houses <3614-oikia->, and for a pretence <4392-prophasis-> make <4336-proseuchomai-> long <3117-makros-> prayers <4336-proseuchomai->: these <3778-houtos-> shall receive <2983-lambano-> greater <4055-perissoteros-> damnation <2917-krima->.

:41. And Jesus <2424-Iesous-> sat <2523-kathizo-> over <2713-katenanti-> against <2713-katenanti-> the treasury <1049-gazophulakion->, and beheld <2334-theoreo-> how <4459-pos-> the people <3793-ochlos-> cast <0906-ballo-> money <5475-chalkos-> into <1519-eis-> the treasury <1049-gazophulakion->: and many <4183-polus-> that were rich <4145-plousios-> cast <0906-ballo-> in much <4183-polus->.

:6 For many <4183-polus-> shall come <2064-erchomai-> in my name <3686-onoma->, saying <3004-lego->, I am <1510-eimi-> [Christ]; and shall deceive <4105-planao-> many <4183-polus->.

:7 And when <3752-hotan-> ye shall hear <0191-akouo-> of wars <4171-polemos-> and rumours <0189-akoe-> of wars <4171-polemos->, be ye not troubled <2360-throeo->: for [such things] must <1163-dei-> needs be; but the end <5056-telos-> [shall] not [be] yet <3768-oupo->.

:8 For nation <1484-ethnos-> shall rise <1453-egeiro-> against <1909-epi-> nation <1484-ethnos->, and kingdom <0932-basileia-> against <1909-epi-> kingdom <0932-basileia->: and there shall be earthquakes <4578-seismos-> in divers places <5117-topos->, and there shall be famines <3042-limos-> and troubles <5016-tarache->: these <5023-tauta-> [are] the beginnings <0746-arche-> of sorrows <5604-odin--Ozias->.

:9 But take heed <0991-blepo-> to yourselves <1438-heautou->: for they shall deliver <3860-paradidomi-> you up to councils <4892-sunedrion->; and in the synagogues <4864-sunagoge-> ye shall be beaten <1194-dero->: and ye shall be brought <2476-histemi-> before <1909-epi-> rulers <2232-hegemon-> and kings <0935-basileus-> for my sake <1752-heneka->, for a testimony <3142-marturion-> against them.

:10 And the gospel <2098-euaggelion-> must <1163-dei-> first <4412-proton-> be published <2784-kerusso-> among <1519-eis-> all <3956-pas-> nations <1484-ethnos->.

:11 But when <3752-hotan-> they shall lead <0071-ago-> [you], and deliver <3860-paradidomi-> you up, take no <3361-me-> thought <4305-promerimnao-> beforehand <4305-promerimnao-> what <5101-tis-> ye shall speak <2980-laleo->, neither <3366-mede-> do ye premeditate <3191-meletao->: but whatsoever <1437-ean-> shall be given <1325-didomi-> you in that hour <5610-hora->, that speak <2980-laleo-> ye: for it is not ye that speak <2980-laleo->, but the Holy <0040-hagios-> Ghost <4151-pneuma->.

:12 Now <1161-de-> the brother <0080-adephos-> shall betray <3860-paradidomi-> the brother <0080-adephos-> to death <2288-thanatos->, and the father <3962-pater-> the son <5043-teknon->; and children <5043-teknon-> shall rise <1881-epanistamai-> up against <1909-epi-> [their] parents <1118-goneus->, and shall cause <2289-thanatoo-> them to be put <2289-thanatoo-> to death <2289-thanatoo->.

:13 And ye shall be hated <3404-miseo-> of all <3956-pas-> [men] for my name's <3686-onoma-> sake: but he that shall endure <5278-hupomeno-> unto the end <5056-telos->, the same <3778-houtos-> shall be saved <4982-sozo->.

:14. But when <3752-hotan-> ye shall see <1492-eido-> the abomination <0946-bdelugma-> of desolation <2050-eremosis->, spoken <4483-rheo-> of by Daniel <1158-Daniel-> the prophet <4396-prophetes->, standing <2476-histemi-> where <3699-hopou-> it ought <1163-dei-> not, (let him that readeth <0314-anaginosko-> understand <3539-noieo->,) then <5119-tote-> let them that be in Judaea <2449-Ioudaia-> flee <5343-pheugo-> to the mountains <3735-oros->:

:15 And let him that is on <1909-epi-> the housetop <1430-doma-> not go <2597-katabaino-> down <2597-katabaino-> into <1519-eis-> the house <3614-oikia->, neither <3366-mede-> enter <1525-eiserchomai-> [therein], to take <0142-airo-> any <5100-tis-> thing out of his house <3614-oikia->:

:16 And let him that is in the field <0068-agros-> not turn <1994-epistrepho-> back <0617-apokulio-> again <1994-epistrepho-> for to take <0142-airo-> up his garment <2440-himation->.

:17 But woe <3759-ouai-> to them that are with child <1064-gaster->, and to them that give suck <2337-thelazo-> in those <1565-ekeinos-> days <2250-hemera->!

:18 And pray <4336-proseuchomai-> ye that your <5216-humon-> flight <5437-phuge-> be not in the winter <5494-cheimon->.

:19 For [in] those <1565-ekeinos-> days <2250-hemera-> shall be affliction <2347-thlipsis->, such <3634-hoios-> as was not from the beginning <0746-arche-> of the creation <2937-ktisis-> which <3739-hos-> God <2316-theos-> created <2936-ktizo-> unto this <3568-nun-> time <3568-nun->, neither <3361-me-> shall be.

:20 And except <1508-ei me-> that the Lord <2962-kurios-> had shortened <2856-koloboo-> those <3588-ho-> days <2250-hemera->, no <3956-pas-> flesh <4561-sarx-> should be saved <4982-sozo->: but for the elect's <1588-eklektos-> sake, whom <3739-hos-> he hath chosen <1586-eklegomai->, he hath shortened <2856-koloboo-> the days <2250-hemera->.

:21 And then <5119-tote-> if <1437-ean-> any <5100-tis-> man shall say <2036-epo-> to you, Lo <2400-idou->, here <5602-hode-> [is] Christ <5547-Christos->; or <2228-e->, lo <2400-idou->, [he is] there <1563-ekei->; believe <4100-pisteuo-> [him] not:

:22 For false <5580-pseudochristos-> Christs <5580-pseudochristos-> and false <5578-pseudoprophetes-> prophets <5578-pseudoprophetes-> shall rise <1453-egeiro->, and shall shew <1325-didomi-> signs <4592-semeion-> and wonders <5059-teras->, to seduce <0635-apoplanao->, if <1487-ei-> [it were] possible <1415-dunatos->, even <2532-kai-> the elect <1588-eklektos->.

:38 Watch <1127-gregoreuo-> ye and pray <4336-proseuchomai->, lest <3379-mepote-> ye enter <1525-eiserchomai-> into <1519-eis-> temptation <3986-peirasmos->. The spirit <4151-pneuma-> truly <3303-men-> [is] ready <4289-prothumos->, but the flesh <4561-sarx-> [is] weak <0772-asthenes->.
