:6 And Joseph <3130 Yowceph > died <4191 muwth >, and all <3605 kol > his brethren <0251 >ach >, and all <3605 kol > that generation <1755 dowr >.

:7 And the children <1121 ben > of Israel <3478 Yisra>el > were fruitful <6509 parah >, and increased <8317 sharats > abundantly <8317 sharats >, and multiplied <7235 rabah >, and waxed exceeding <3966 m@<od > mighty <6105 <atsam >; and the land <0776 >erets > was filled <4390 male> > with them.

:8. Now there arose <6965 quwm > up a new <2319 chadash > king <4428 melek > over <5921 <al > Egypt <4714 Mitsrayim >, which <0834 >aher > knew <3045 yada< > not Joseph <3130 Yowceph >.

:9 And he said <0559 >amar > unto his people <5971 <am >, Behold <2009 hinneh >, the people <5971 <am > of the children <1121 ben > of Israel <3478 Yisra>el > [are] more <7227 rab > and mightier <6099 <atsuwm > than we:

:10 Come <3051 yahab > on, let us deal wisely <2449 chakam > with them; lest <6435 pen > they multiply <7235 rabah >, and it come <1961 hayah > to pass, that, when <3588 kiy > there falleth <7122 qara> > out any war <4421 milchamah >, they join <3254 yacaph > also <1571 gam > unto our enemies <8130 sane> >, and fight <3898 lacham > against us, and [so] get <5927 <alah > them up out of the land <0776 >erets >.

:11 Therefore they did set <7760 suwm > over <5921 <al > them taskmasters to afflict <6031 <anah > them with their burdens <5450 c@balah >. And they built <1129 banah > for Pharaoh <6547 Par<oh > treasure <4543 mick@nah > cities <5892 <iyr >, Pithom <6619 Pithom > and Raamses <7486 Ra<m@cec >.

:12 But the more <3651 ken > they afflicted <6031 <anah > them, the more <3651 ken > they multiplied <7235 rabah > and grew <6555 parats >. And they were grieved <6973 quwts > because <6440 paniym > of the children <1121 ben > of Israel <3478 Yisra>el >.

:13 And the Egyptians <4714 Mitsrayim > made the children <1121 ben > of Israel <3478 Yisra>el > to serve <5647 <abad > with rigour <6531 perek >:

:14 And they made their lives <2416 chay > bitter <4843 marar > with hard <7186 qasheh > bondage <5656 <abodah >, in morter <2563 chomer >, and in brick <3843 l@benah >, and in all <3605 kol > manner of service <5656 <abodah > in the field <7704 sadeh >:all <3605 kol > their service <5656 <abodah >, wherein <0834 >aher > they made them serve <5647 <abad >, [was] with rigour <6531 perek >.

And the king <4428 melek > of Egypt <4714 Mitsrayim > spake <0559 >amar > to the Hebrew <5680 <Ibriy > midwives <3205 yalad >, of which <0834 >aher > the name <8034 shem > of the one <0259 >echad > [was] Shiphrah <8236 Shiphrah >, and the name <8034 shem > of the other <8145 sheniy > Puah <6326 Puw<ah >:

:16 And he said <0559 >amar >, When ye do the office of a midwife <3205 yalad> to the Hebrew <5680 <Ibriy > women, and see <7200 ra>ah > [them] upon the stools <70>; if it [be] a son <1121 ben >, then ye shall kill <4191 muwth > him:but if it [be] a daughter <1323 bath >, then she shall live <2425 chayay >.

:17 But the midwives <3205 yalad > feared <3372 yare> > God <0430 >elohiym >, and did <6213 <asah > not as the king <4428 melek > of Egypt <4714 Mitsrayim > commanded <1696 dabar > them, but saved <2421 chayah > the men children <3206 yeled > alive <2421 chayah >.

:18 And the king <4428 melek > of Egypt <4714 Mitsrayim > called <7121 qara> > for the midwives <3205 yalad >, and said <0559 >amar > unto them, Why <4069 madduwa< > have ye done <6213 <asah > this <2088 zeh > thing <1697 dabar >, and have saved <2421 chayah > the men children <3206 yeled > alive <2421 chayah >?

:19 And the midwives <3205 yalad > said <0559 >amar > unto Pharaoh <6547 Par<oh >, Because <3588 kiy > the Hebrew <5680 <Ibriy > women <0802 >ishshah > [are] not as the Egyptian <4713 Mitsriy > women <0802 >ishshah >; for they [are] lively <2422 chayeh >, and are delivered <3205 yalad > ere <2962 terem > the midwives <3205 yalad > come <0935 bow> > in unto them.

:20 Therefore God <0430 >elohiym > dealt well <3190 yatab > with the midwives <3205 yalad >:and the people <5971 <am > multiplied <7235 rabah >, and waxed very <3966 m@<od > mighty <6105 <atsam >.

:21 And it came <1961 hayah > to pass, because <3588 kiy > the midwives <3205 yalad > feared <3372 yare> > God <0430 >elohiym >, that he made <6213 <asah > them houses <1004 bayith >.

:22 And Pharaoh <6547 Par<oh > charged <6680 tsavah > all <3605 kol > his people <5971 <am >, saying <0559 >amar >, Every <3605 kol > son <1121 ben > that is born <3209 yillowd > ye shall cast <7993 shalak > into the river <2975 y@<or >, and every <3605 kol > daughter <1323 bath > ye shall save <2421 chayah > alive <2421 chayah >.

:Exodus 2

:1. And there went <3212 yalak > a man <0376 >iysh > of the house <1004 bayith > of Levi <3878 Leviy >, and took <3947 laqach > [to wife] a daughter <1323 bath > of Levi <3878 Leviy >.

:2 And the woman <0802 >ishshah > conceived <2030 hareh >, and bare <3205 yalad > a son <1121 ben >:and when <3588 kiy > she saw <7200 ra>ah > him that he [was a] goodly <2896 towb > [child], she hid <6845 tsaphan > him three <7969 shalowsh > months <3391 yerach >.

:3 And when <3588 kiy > she could <3201 yakol > not longer <5750 <owd > hide <6845 tsaphan > him, she took <3947 laqach > for him an ark <8392 tebah > of bulrushes <1573 gome> >, and daubed <2560 chamar > it with slime <2564 chemar > and with pitch <2203 zepheth >, and put <7760 suwm > the child <3206 yeled > therein; and she laid <7760 suwm > [it] in the flags <5488 cuwph > by the river's <2975 y@<or > brink <8193 saphah >.

:4 And his sister <0269 >achowth > stood <3320 yatsab > afar <7350 rachowq > off, to wit <3045 yada< > what <4100 mah > would be done <6213 <asah > to him.

:5. And the daughter <1323 bath > of Pharaoh <6547 Par<oh > came <3381 yarad > down <3381 yarad > to wash <7364 rachats > [herself] at <5921 <al > the river <2975 y@<or >; and her maidens <5291 na<arah > walked <1980 halak > along by the river's <2975 y@<or > side <3027 yad >; and when she saw <7200 ra>ah > the ark <8392 tebah > among <8432 tavek > the flags <5488 cuwph >, she sent <7971 shalach > her maid <0519 >amah > to fetch <3947 laqach > it.

:6 And when she had opened <6605 pathach > [it], she saw <7200 ra>ah > the child <3206 yeled >:and, behold <2009 hinneh >, the babe <5288 na<ar > wept <1058 bakah >. And she had compassion <2550 chamal > on <5921 <al > him, and said <0559 >amar >, This <2088 zeh > [is one] of the Hebrews <5680 <Ibriy >' children <3206 yeled >.

:7 Then said <0559 >amar > his sister <0269 >achowth > to Pharaoh's <6547 Par<oh > daughter <1323 bath >, Shall I go <3212 yalak > and call <7121 qara> > to thee a nurse <3243 yanaq > of the Hebrew <5680 <Ibriy > women, that she may nurse <3243 yanaq > the child <3206 yeled > for thee?

:8 And Pharaoh's <6547 Par<oh > daughter <1323 bath > said <0559 >amar > to her, Go <3212 yalak >. And the maid <5959 <almah > went <3212 yalak > and called <7121 qara> > the child's <3206 yeled > mother <0517 >em >.

:9 And Pharaoh's <6547 Par<oh > daughter <1323 bath > said <0559 >amar > unto her, Take <3212 yalak > this <2088 zeh > child <3206 yeled > away, and nurse <3243 yanaq > it for me, and I will give <5414 nathan > [thee] thy wages <7939 sakar >. And the woman <0802 >ishshah > took <3947 laqach > the child <3206 yeled >, and nursed <5134 nuwq > it.

:10 And the child <3206 yeled > grew <1431 gadal >, and she brought <0935 bow> > him unto Pharaoh's <6547 Par<oh > daughter <1323 bath >, and he became <1961 hayah > her son <1121 ben >. And she called <7121 qara> > his name <8034 shem > Moses <4872 Mosheh >:and she said <0559 >amar >, Because <3588 kiy > I drew <4871 mashah > him out of the water <4325 mayim >.

:11. And it came <1961 hayah > to pass in those <1992 hem > days <3117 yowm >, when Moses <4872 Mosheh > was grown <1431 gadal >, that he went <3318 yatsa> > out unto his brethren <0251 >ach >, and looked <7200 ra>ah > on their burdens <5450 c@balah >:and he spied <7200 ra>ah > an Egyptian <4713 Mitsriy > smiting <5221 nakah > an Hebrew <5680 <Ibriy >, one of his brethren <0251 >ach >.

:12 And he looked <6437 panah > this <3541 koh > way <3541 koh > and that way <3541 koh >, and when he saw <7200 ra>ah > that [there was] no <0369 >ayin > man <0376 >iysh >, he slew <5221 nakah > the Egyptian <4713 Mitsriy >, and hid <2934 taman > him in the sand <2344 chowl >.

:13 And when he went <3318 yatsa> > out the second <8145 sheniy > day <3117 yowm >, behold <2009 hinneh >, two <8147 sh@nayim > men <0582 >enowsh > of the Hebrews <5680 <Ibriy > strove <5327 natsah > together:and he said <0559 >amar > to him that did the wrong <7563 rasha< >, Wherefore <4100 mah > smitest <5221 nakah > thou thy fellow <7453 rea< >?

:14 And he said <0559 >amar >, Who <4310 miy > made <7760 suwm > thee a prince <8269 sar > and a judge <8199 shaphat > over <5921 <al > us? intendest <0559 >amar > thou to kill <2026 harag > me, as thou killedst <2026 harag > the Egyptian <4713 Mitsriy >? And Moses <4872 Mosheh > feared <3372 yare> >, and said <0559 >amar >, Surely <0403 >aken > this thing <1697 dabar > is known <3045 yada< >.

:15 Now when Pharaoh <6547 Par<oh > heard <8085 shama< > this <2088 zeh > thing <1697 dabar >, he sought <1245 baqash > to slay <2026 harag > Moses <4872 Mosheh >. But Moses <4872 Mosheh > fled <1272 barach > from the face <6440 paniym > of Pharaoh <6547 Par<oh >, and dwelt <3427 yashab > in the land <0776 >erets > of Midian <4080 Midyan >:and he sat <3427 yashab > down by a well <0875 @>er >.

:16. Now the priest <3548 kohen > of Midian <4080 Midyan > had seven <7651 sheba< > daughters <1121 ben >:and they came <0935 bow> > and drew <1802 dalah > [water], and filled <4390 male> > the troughs <7298 rahat > to water <8248 shaqah > their father's <1> flock <6629 tso>n >.

:17 And the shepherds <7462 ra<ah > came <0935 bow> > and drove <1644 garash > them away:but Moses <4872 Mosheh > stood <6965 quwm > up and helped <3467 yasha< > them, and watered <8248 shaqah > their flock <6629 tso>n >.

:18 And when they came <0935 bow> > to Reuel <7467 R@<uw>el > their father <1>, he said <0559 >amar >, How <4069 madduwa< > [is it that] ye are come <0935 bow> > so soon <4116 mahar > to day <3117 yowm >?

:19 And they said <0559 >amar >, An Egyptian <4713 Mitsriy > delivered <5337 natsal > us out of the hand <3027 yad > of the shepherds <7462 ra<ah >, and also <1571 gam > drew <1802 dalah > [water] enough for us, and watered <8248 shaqah > the flock <6629 tso>n >.

:20 And he said <0559 >amar > unto his daughters <1121 ben >, And where <0346 >ayeh > [is] he? why <4100 mah > [is] it [that] ye have left <5800 <azab > the man <0376 >iysh >? call <7121 qara> > him, that he may eat <0398 >akal > bread <3899 lechem >.

:21 And Moses <4872 Mosheh > was content <2974 ya>al > to dwell <3427 yashab > with the man <0376 >iysh >:and he gave <5414 nathan > Moses <4872 Mosheh > Zipporah <3855 Lahad > his daughter <1323 bath >.

:22 And she bare <3205 yalad > [him] a son <1121 ben >, and he called <7121 qara> > his name <8034 shem > Gershom <1648 Ger@shown >:for he said <0559 >amar >, I have been <1961 hayah > a stranger <1616 ger > in a strange <5237 nokriy > land <0776 >erets >.

:23. And it came <1961 hayah > to pass in process <7227 rab > of time <3117 yowm >, that the king <4428 melek > of Egypt <4714 Mitsrayim > died <4191 muwth >:and the children <1121 ben > of Israel <3478 Yisra>el > sighed <0584 >anach > by reason <4480 min > of the bondage <5656 <abodah >, and they cried <2199 za<aq >, and their cry <7775 shav<ah > came <5927 <alah > up unto God <0430 >elohiym > by reason <4480 min > of the bondage <5656 <abodah >.

:24 And God <0430 >elohiym > heard <8085 shama< > their groaning <5009 n@>aqah >, and God <0430 >elohiym > remembered <2142 zakar > his covenant <1285 b@riyth > with Abraham <85>, with Isaac <3327 Yitschaq >, and with Jacob <3290 Ya<aqob >.

:25 And God <0430 >elohiym > looked <7200 ra>ah > upon the children <1121 ben > of Israel <3478 Yisra>el >, and God <0430 >elohiym > had respect <3045 yada< > unto [them].

:Exodus 3

:1. Now Moses <4872 Mosheh > kept <7462 ra<ah > the flock <6629 tso>n > of Jethro <3503 Yithrow > his father <2859 chathan > in law <2859 chathan >, the priest <3548 kohen > of Midian <4080 Midyan >:and he led <5090 nahag > the flock <6629 tso>n > to the backside <0310 >achar > of the desert <4057 midbar >, and came <0935 bow> > to the mountain <2022 har > of God <0430 >elohiym >, [even] to Horeb <2722 Choreb >.

:2 And the angel <4397 mal>ak > of the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > appeared <7200 ra>ah > unto him in a flame <3827 labbah > of fire <0784 >esh > out of the midst <8432 tavek > of a bush <5572 c@nah >:and he looked <7200 ra>ah >, and, behold <2009 hinneh >, the bush <5572 c@nah > burned <1197 ba<ar > with fire <0784 >esh >, and the bush <5572 c@nah > [was] not consumed <0398 >akal >.

:3 And Moses <4872 Mosheh > said <0559 >amar >, I will now <4994 na> > turn <5493 cuwr > aside, and see <7200 ra>ah > this <2088 zeh > great <1419 gadowl > sight <4758 mar>eh >, why <4069 madduwa< > the bush <5572 c@nah > is not burnt <1197 ba<ar >.

:4 And when the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > saw <7200 ra>ah > that he turned <5493 cuwr > aside to see <7200 ra>ah >, God <0430 >elohiym > called <7121 qara> > unto him out of the midst <8432 tavek > of the bush <5572 c@nah >, and said <0559 >amar >, Moses <4872 Mosheh >, Moses <4872 Mosheh >. And he said <0559 >amar >, Here <2009 hinneh > [am] I.

:5 And he said <0559 >amar >, Draw not nigh <7126 qarab > hither <1988 halom >:put <5394 nashal > off thy shoes <5275 na<al > from off thy feet <7272 regel >, for the place <4725 maqowm > whereon thou standest <5975 <amad > [is] holy <6944 qodesh > ground <0127 >adamah >.

:6 Moreover he said <0559 >amar >, I [am] the God <0430 >elohiym > of thy father <1>, the God <0430 >elohiym > of Abraham <85>, the God <0430 >elohiym > of Isaac <3327 Yitschaq >, and the God <0430 >elohiym > of Jacob <3290 Ya<aqob >. And Moses <4872 Mosheh > hid <5641 cathar > his face <6440 paniym >; for he was afraid <3372 yare> > to look <5027 nabat > upon God <0430 >elohiym >.

:7. And the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > said <0559 >amar >, I have surely seen <7200 ra>ah > the affliction <6040 <oniy > of my people <5971 <am > which <0834 >aher > [are] in Egypt <4714 Mitsrayim >, and have heard <8085 shama< > their cry <6818 tsa<aqah > by reason <6440 paniym > of their taskmasters <5065 nagas >; for I know <3045 yada< > their sorrows <4341 mak>ob >;

:8 And I am come <3381 yarad > down <3381 yarad > to deliver <5337 natsal > them out of the hand <3027 yad > of the Egyptians <4714 Mitsrayim >, and to bring <5927 <alah > them up out of that land <0776 >erets > unto a good <2896 towb > land <0776 >erets > and a large <7342 rachab >, unto a land <0776 >erets > flowing <2100 zuwb > with milk <2461 chalab > and honey <1706 d@bash >; unto the place <4725 maqowm > of the Canaanites <3669 K@na<aniy >, and the Hittites <2850 Chittiy >, and the Amorites <0567 >Emoriy >, and the Perizzites <6522 P@rizziy >, and the Hivites <2340 Chivviy >, and the Jebusites <2983 Yebuwciy >.

:9 Now <6258 <attah > therefore, behold <2009 hinneh >, the cry <6818 tsa<aqah > of the children <1121 ben > of Israel <3478 Yisra>el > is come <0935 bow> > unto me:and I have also <1571 gam > seen <7200 ra>ah > the oppression <3906 lachats > wherewith <0834 >aher > the Egyptians <4714 Mitsrayim > oppress <3905 lachats > them.

:10 Come <3212 yalak > now <6258 <attah > therefore, and I will send <7971 shalach > thee unto Pharaoh <6547 Par<oh >, that thou mayest bring <3318 yatsa> > forth <3318 yatsa> > my people <5971 <am > the children <1121 ben > of Israel <3478 Yisra>el > out of Egypt <4714 Mitsrayim >.

:11. And Moses <4872 Mosheh > said <0559 >amar > unto God <0430 >elohiym >, Who <4310 miy > [am] I, that I should go <3212 yalak > unto Pharaoh <6547 Par<oh >, and that I should bring <3318 yatsa> > forth <3318 yatsa> > the children <1121 ben > of Israel <3478 Yisra>el > out of Egypt <4714 Mitsrayim >?

:12 And he said <0559 >amar >, Certainly <3588 kiy > I will be with thee; and this [shall be] a token <0226 >owth > unto thee, that I have sent <7971 shalach > thee:When thou hast brought <3318 yatsa> > forth <3318 yatsa> > the people <5971 <am > out of Egypt <4714 Mitsrayim >, ye shall serve <5647 <abad > God <0430 >elohiym > upon this mountain <2022 har >.

:13 And Moses <4872 Mosheh > said <0559 >amar > unto God <0430 >elohiym >, Behold <2009 hinneh >, [when] I come <0935 bow> > unto the children <1121 ben > of Israel <3478 Yisra>el >, and shall say <0559 >amar > unto them, The God <0430 >elohiym > of your fathers <1> hath sent <7971 shalach > me unto you; and they shall say <0559 >amar > to me, What <4100 mah > [is] his name <8034 shem >? what <4100 mah > shall I say <0559 >amar > unto them?

:14 And God <0430 >elohiym > said <0559 >amar > unto Moses <4872 Mosheh >, I AM <1961 hayah > THAT I AM <1961 hayah >:and he said <0559 >amar >, Thus <3541 koh > shalt thou say <0559 >amar > unto the children <1121 ben > of Israel <3478 Yisra>el >, I AM <1961 hayah > hath sent <7971 shalach > me unto you.

:15 And God <0430 >elohiym > said <0559 >amar > moreover <5750 <owd > unto Moses <4872 Mosheh >, Thus <3541 koh > shalt thou say <0559 >amar > unto the children <1121 ben > of Israel <3478 Yisra>el >, The LORD <3068 Y@hovah > God <0430 >elohiym > of your fathers <1>, the God <0430 >elohiym > of Abraham <85>, the God <0430 >elohiym > of Isaac <3327 Yitschaq >, and the God <0430 >elohiym > of Jacob <3290 Ya<aqob >, hath sent <7971 shalach > me unto you:this <2088 zeh > [is] my name <8034 shem > for ever <5769 <owlam >, and this <2088 zeh > [is] my memorial <2143 zeker > unto all generations <1755 dowr >.

Go <3212 yalak >, and gather <0622 >acaph > the elders <2205 zaqen > ofIsrael <3478 Yisra>el > together, and say <0559 >amar > unto them, The LORD <3068 Y@hovah > God <0430 >elohiym > of your fathers <1>, the God <0430 >elohiym > of Abraham <85>, of Isaac <3327 Yitschaq >, and of Jacob <3290 Ya<aqob >, appeared <7200 ra>ah > unto me, saying <0559 >amar >, I have surely visited <6485 paqad > you, and [seen] that which <0834 >aher > is done <6213 <asah > to you in Egypt <4714 Mitsrayim >:

:17 And I have said <0559 >amar >, I will bring <5927 <alah > you up out of the affliction <6040 <oniy > of Egypt <4714 Mitsrayim > unto the land <0776 >erets > of the Canaanites <3669 K@na<aniy >, and the Hittites <2850 Chittiy >, and the Amorites <0567 >Emoriy >, and the Perizzites <6522 P@rizziy >, and the Hivites <2340 Chivviy >, and the Jebusites <2983 Yebuwciy >, unto a land <0776 >erets > flowing <2100 zuwb > with milk <2461 chalab > and honey <1706 d@bash >.

:18 And they shall hearken <8085 shama< > to thy voice <6963 qowl >:and thou shalt come <0935 bow> >, thou and the elders <2205 zaqen > of Israel <3478 Yisra>el >, unto the king <4428 melek > of Egypt <4714 Mitsrayim >, and ye shall say <0559 >amar > unto him, The LORD <3068 Y@hovah > God <0430 >elohiym > of the Hebrews <5680 <Ibriy > hath met <7136 qarah > with us:and now <6258 <attah > let us go <3212 yalak >, we beseech <4994 na> > thee, three <7969 shalowsh > days <3117 yowm >' journey <1870 derek > into the wilderness <4057 midbar >, that we may sacrifice <2076 zabach > to the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > our God <0430 >elohiym >.

:19 And I am sure <3045 yada< > that the king <4428 melek > of Egypt <4714 Mitsrayim > will not let <5414 nathan > you go <1980 halak >, no <3808 lo> >, not by a mighty <2389 chazaq > hand <3027 yad >.

:4 And the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > said <0559 >amar > unto Moses <4872 Mosheh >, Put <7971 shalach > forth <7971 shalach > thine hand <3027 yad >, and take <0270 >achaz > it by the tail <2180 zanab >. And he put <7971 shalach > forth <7971 shalach > his hand <3027 yad >, and caught <2388 chazaq > it, and it became <1961 hayah > a rod <4294 matteh > in his hand <3709 kaph >:

:5 That they may believe <0539 >aman > that the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > God <0430 >elohiym > of their fathers <1>, the God <0430 >elohiym > of Abraham <85>, the God <0430 >elohiym > of Isaac <3327 Yitschaq >, and the God <0430 >elohiym > of Jacob <3290 Ya<aqob >, hath appeared <7200 ra>ah > unto thee.

:6 And the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > said <0559 >amar > furthermore <5750 <owd > unto him, Put <0935 bow> > now <4994 na> > thine hand <3027 yad > into thy bosom <2436 cheyq >. :8 And it shall come <1961 hayah > to pass, if <0518 >im > they will not believe <0539 >aman > thee, neither <3808 lo> > hearken <8085 shama< > to the voice <6963 qowl > of the first <7223 ri>shown > sign <0226 >owth >, that they will believe <0539 >aman > the voice <6963 qowl > of the latter <0314 >acharown > sign <0226 >owth >.

:9 And it shall come <1961 hayah > to pass, if <0518 >im > they will not believe <0539 >aman > also <1571 gam > these <0428 >el-leh > two <8147 sh@nayim > signs <0226 >owth >, neither <3808 lo> > hearken <8085 shama< > unto thy voice <6963 qowl >, that thou shalt take <3947 laqach > of the water <4325 mayim > of the river <2975 y@<or >, and pour <8210 shaphak > [it] upon the dry <3004 yabbashah > [land]:and the water <4325 mayim > which <0834 >aher > thou takest <3947 laqach > out of the river <2975 y@<or > shall become <1961 hayah > blood <1818 dam > upon the dry <3006 yabbesheth > [land].

:12 Now <6258 <attah > therefore go <3212 yalak >, and I will be with thy mouth <6310 peh >, and teach <3384 yarah > thee what <0834 >aher > thou shalt say <1696 dabar >.

:13 And he said <0559 >amar >, O my Lord <0136 >Adonay >, send <7971 shalach >, I pray <4994 na> > thee, by the hand <3027 yad > [of him whom] thou wilt send <7971 shalach >.

:14 And the anger <0639 >aph > of the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > was kindled <2734 charah > against Moses <4872 Mosheh >, and he said <0559 >amar >, [Is] not Aaron <0175 >Aharown > the Levite <3881 Leviyiy > thy brother <0251 >ach >? I know <3045 yada< > that he can speak <1696 dabar > well. And also <1571 gam >, behold <2009 hinneh >, he cometh <3318 yatsa> > forth <3318 yatsa> > to meet <7125 qir>ah > thee:and when he seeth <7200 ra>ah > thee, he will be glad <8056 sameach > in his heart <3820 leb >.

:16 And he shall be thy spokesman <1696 dabar > unto the people <5971 <am >:and he shall be, [even] he shall be to thee instead of a mouth <6310 peh >, and thou shalt be to him instead of God <0430 >elohiym >.

:17 And thou shalt take <3947 laqach > this <2088 zeh > rod <4294 matteh > in thine hand <3027 yad >, wherewith <0834 >aher > thou shalt do <6213 <asah > signs <0226 >owth >.

:18. And Moses <4872 Mosheh > went <3212 yalak > and returned <7725 shuwb > to Jethro <3503 Yithrow > his father <2859 chathan > in law <2859 chathan >, and said <0559 >amar > unto him, Let me go <3212 yalak >, I pray <4994 na> > thee, and return <7725 shuwb > unto my brethren <0251 >ach > which <0834 >aher > [are] in Egypt <4714 Mitsrayim >, and see <7200 ra>ah > whether <5750 <owd > they be yet <5750 <owd > alive <2416 chay >. :22 And thou shalt say <0559 >amar > unto Pharaoh <6547 Par<oh >, Thus <3541 koh > saith <0559 >amar > the LORD <3068 Y@hovah >, Israel <3478 Yisra>el > [is] my son <1121 ben >, [even] my firstborn <1060 b@kowr >:

:23 And I say <0559 >amar > unto thee, Let my son <1121 ben > go <7971 shalach >, that he may serve <5647 <abad > me:and if thou refuse <3985 ma>en > to let him go <7971 shalach >, behold <2009 hinneh >, I will slay <2026 harag > thy son <1121 ben >, [even] thy firstborn <1060 b@kowr >.

:24. And it came <1961 hayah > to pass by the way <1870 derek > in the inn <4411 malown >, that the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > met <6298 pagash > him, and sought <1245 baqash > to kill <4191 muwth > him.

:25 Then Zipporah <3855 Lahad > took <3947 laqach > a sharp <6864 tsor > stone <6697 tsuwr >, and cut <3772 karath > off the foreskin <6190 <orlah > of her son <1121 ben >, and cast <5060 naga< > [it] at his feet <7272 regel >, and said <0559 >amar >, Surely <3588 kiy > a bloody <1818 dam > husband <2860 chathan > [art] thou to me.

:26 So he let him go <7503 raphah >:then <0227 >az > she said <0559 >amar >, A bloody <1818 dam > husband <2860 chathan > [thou art], because of the circumcision <4139 muwlah >.

:27 And the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > said <0559 >amar > to Aaron <0175 >Aharown >, Go <3212 yalak > into the wilderness <4057 midbar > to meet <7125 qir>ah > Moses <4872 Mosheh >. And he went <3212 yalak >, and met <6298 pagash > him in the mount <2022 har > of God <0430 >elohiym >, and kissed <5401 nashaq > him.

:28 And Moses <4872 Mosheh > told <5046 nagad > Aaron <0175 >Aharown > all <3605 kol > the words <1697 dabar > of the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > who <0834 >aher > had sent <7971 shalach > him, and all <3605 kol > the signs <0226 >owth > which <0834 >aher > he had commanded <6680 tsavah > him.

:6 And Pharaoh <6547 Par<oh > commanded <6680 tsavah > the same <1931 huw> > day <3117 yowm > the taskmasters <5065 nagas > of the people <5971 <am >, and their officers <7860 shoter >, saying <0559 >amar >,

:9 Let there more work <5656 <abodah > be laid <3515 kabed > upon the men <0582 >enowsh >, that they may labour <6213 <asah > therein; and let them not regard <8159 sha<ah > vain <8267 sheqer > words <1697 dabar >.

:10. And the taskmasters <5065 nagas > of the people <5971 <am > went <3318 yatsa> > out, and their officers <7860 shoter >, and they spake <0559 >amar > to the people <5971 <am >, saying <0559 >amar >, Thus <3541 koh > saith <0559 >amar > Pharaoh <6547 Par<oh >, I will not give <5414 nathan > you straw <8401 teben >.

:11 Go <3212 yalak > ye, get <3947 laqach > you straw <8401 teben > where <0834 >aher > ye can find <4672 matsa> > it:yet <3588 kiy > not ought <1697 dabar > of your work <5656 <abodah > shall be diminished <1639 gara< >.

:12 So the people <5971 <am > were scattered <6327 puwts > abroad <6527 parat > throughout all <3605 kol > the land <0776 >erets > of Egypt <4714 Mitsrayim > to gather <7197 qashash > stubble <7179 qash > instead of straw <8401 teben >.

:13 And the taskmasters <5065 nagas > hasted <0213 >uwts > [them], saying <0559 >amar >, Fulfil <3615 kalah > your works <4639 ma<aseh >, [your] daily <3117 yowm > tasks <1697 dabar >, as when <0834 >aher > there was straw <8401 teben >.

:14 And the officers <7860 shoter > of the children <1121 ben > of Israel <3478 Yisra>el >, which <0834 >aher > Pharaoh's <6547 Par<oh > taskmasters <5065 nagas > had set <7760 suwm > over <5921 <al > them, were beaten <5221 nakah >, [and] demanded <0559 >amar >, Wherefore <4069 madduwa< > have ye not fulfilled <3615 kalah > your task <2706 choq > in making brick <3835 laban > both <1571 gam > yesterday <8543 t@mowl > and to day <3117 yowm >, as heretofore <8543 t@mowl >?

:15. Then the officers <7860 shoter > of the children <1121 ben > of Israel <3478 Yisra>el > came <0935 bow> > and cried <6817 tsa<aq > unto Pharaoh <6547 Par<oh >, saying <0559 >amar >, Wherefore <4100 mah > dealest <6213 <asah > thou thus <3541 koh > with thy servants <5650 <ebed >?

:16 There is no <0369 >ayin > straw <8401 teben > given <5414 nathan > unto thy servants <5650 <ebed >, and they say <0559 >amar > to us, Make <6213 <asah > brick <3843 l@benah >:and, behold <2009 hinneh >, thy servants <5650 <ebed > [are] beaten <5221 nakah >; but the fault <2398 chata> > [is] in thine own people <5971 <am >.

:17 But he said <0559 >amar >, Ye [are] idle <7504 rapheh >, [ye are] idle <7504 rapheh >:therefore ye say <0559 >amar >, Let us go <3212 yalak > [and] do sacrifice <2076 zabach > to the LORD <3068 Y@hovah >.

:18 Go <3212 yalak > therefore now <6258 <attah >, [and] work <5647 <abad >; for there shall no <3808 lo> > straw <8401 teben > be given <5414 nathan > you, yet shall ye deliver <5414 nathan > the tale <8506 token > of bricks <3843 l@benah >.

:19 And the officers <7860 shoter > of the children <1121 ben > of Israel <3478 Yisra>el > did see <7200 ra>ah > [that] they [were] in evil <7451 ra< > [case], after it was said <0559 >amar >, Ye shall not minish <1639 gara< > [ought] from your bricks <3843 l@benah > of your daily <3117 yowm > task <1697 dabar >.

:20 And they met <6293 paga< > Moses <4872 Mosheh > and Aaron <0175 >Aharown >, who <4310 miy > stood <5324 natsab > in the way <7125 qir>ah >, as they came <3318 yatsa> > forth <3318 yatsa> > from Pharaoh <6547 Par<oh >:

:21 And they said <0559 >amar > unto them, The LORD <3068 Y@hovah > look <7200 ra>ah > upon you, and judge <8199 shaphat >; because <0834 >aher > ye have made our savour <7381 reyach > to be abhorred <0887 ba>ash > in the eyes <5869 <ayin > of Pharaoh <6547 Par<oh >, and in the eyes <5869 <ayin > of his servants <5650 <ebed >, to put <5414 nathan > a sword <2719 chereb > in their hand <3027 yad > to slay <2026 harag > us.

:22 And Moses <4872 Mosheh > returned <7725 shuwb > unto the LORD <0136 >Adonay >, and said <0559 >amar >, Lord <3068 Y@hovah >, wherefore <4100 mah > hast thou [so] evil <7489 ra<a< > entreated this <2088 zeh > people <5971 <am >? why <4100 mah > [is] it [that] thou hast sent <7971 shalach > me?

:23 For since <4480 min > I came <0935 bow> > to Pharaoh <6547 Par<oh > to speak <1696 dabar > in thy name <8034 shem >, he hath done evil <7489 ra<a< > to this <2088 zeh > people <5971 <am >; neither <3808 lo> > hast thou delivered <5337 natsal > thy people <5971 <am > at all.

:6 Wherefore <3651 ken > say <0559 >amar > unto the children <1121 ben > of Israel <3478 Yisra>el >, I [am] the LORD <3068 Y@hovah >, and I will bring <3318 yatsa> > you out from under <8478 tachath > the burdens <5450 c@balah > of the Egyptians <4714 Mitsrayim >, and I will rid <5337 natsal > you out of their bondage <5656 <abodah >, and I will redeem <1350 ga>al > you with a stretched <5186 natah > out arm <2220 z@rowa< >, and with great <1419 gadowl > judgments <8201 shephet >:

:7 And I will take <3947 laqach > you to me for a people <5971 <am >, and I will be to you a God <0430 >elohiym >:and ye shall know <3045 yada< > that I [am] the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > your God <0430 >elohiym >, which <0834 >aher > bringeth <3318 yatsa> > you out from under <8478 tachath > the burdens <5450 c@balah > of the Egyptians <4714 Mitsrayim >.

:8 And I will bring <0935 bow> > you in unto the land <0776 >erets >, concerning the which <0834 >aher > I did swear <5375 nasa> > to give <5414 nathan > it to Abraham <85>, to Isaac <3327 Yitschaq >, and to Jacob <3290 Ya<aqob >; and I will give <5414 nathan > it you for an heritage <4181 mowrashah >:I [am] the LORD <3068 Y@hovah >.

:13 And he hardened <2388 chazaq > Pharaoh's <6547 Par<oh > heart <3820 leb >, that he hearkened <8085 shama< > not unto them; as the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > had said <1696 dabar >.

:14. And the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > said <0559 >amar > unto Moses <4872 Mosheh >, Pharaoh's <6547 Par<oh > heart <3820 leb > [is] hardened <3515 kabed >, he refuseth <3985 ma>en > to let the people <5971 <am > go <7971 shalach >.

:15 Get <3212 yalak > thee unto Pharaoh <6547 Par<oh > in the morning <1242 boqer >; lo <2009 hinneh >, he goeth <3318 yatsa> > out unto the water <4325 mayim >; and thou shalt stand <5324 natsab > by the river's <2975 y@<or > brink <8193 saphah > against <7125 qir>ah > he come <7125 qir>ah >; and the rod <4294 matteh > which <0834 >aher > was turned <2015 haphak > to a serpent <5175 nachash > shalt thou take <3947 laqach > in thine hand <3027 yad >.

:18 And the fish <1710 dagah > that [is] in the river <2975 y@<or > shall die <4191 muwth >, and the river <2975 y@<or > shall stink <0887 ba>ash >; and the Egyptians <4714 Mitsrayim > shall lothe <3811 la>ah > to drink <8354 shathah > of the water <4325 mayim > of the river <2975 y@<or >.

:19 And the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > spake <0559 >amar > unto Moses <4872 Mosheh >, Say <0559 >amar > unto Aaron <0175 >Aharown >, Take <3947 laqach > thy rod <4294 matteh >, and stretch <5186 natah > out thine hand <3027 yad > upon the waters <4325 mayim > of Egypt <4714 Mitsrayim >, upon their streams <5104 nahar >, upon their rivers <2975 y@<or >, and upon their ponds <98>, and upon all <3605 kol > their pools <4723 miqveh > of water <4325 mayim >, that they may become <1961 hayah > blood <1818 dam >; and [that] there may be blood <1818 dam > throughout all <3605 kol > the land <0776 >erets > of Egypt <4714 Mitsrayim >, both <8147 sh@nayim > in [vessels of] wood <6086 <ets >, and in [vessels of] stone <68>.

:20 And Moses <4872 Mosheh > and Aaron <0175 >Aharown > did <6213 <asah > so <3651 ken >, as the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > commanded <6680 tsavah >; and he lifted <7311 ruwm > up the rod <4294 matteh >, and smote <5221 nakah > the waters <4325 mayim > that [were] in the river <2975 y@<or >, in the sight <5869 <ayin > of Pharaoh <6547 Par<oh >, and in the sight <5869 <ayin > of his servants <5650 <ebed >; and all <3605 kol > the waters <4325 mayim > that [were] in the river <2975 y@<or > were turned <2015 haphak > to blood <1818 dam >.

:23 And Pharaoh <6547 Par<oh > turned <6437 panah > and went <0935 bow> > into <0413 >el > his house <1004 bayith >, neither <3808 lo> > did he set <7896 shiyth > his heart <3820 leb > to this <2063 zo>th > also <1571 gam >.

:3 And the river <2975 y@<or > shall bring <8317 sharats > forth <8317 sharats > frogs <6854 ts@phardea< > abundantly <8317 sharats >, which shall go <5927 <alah > up and come <0935 bow> > into thine house <1004 bayith >, and into thy bedchamber, and upon thy bed <4296 mittah >, and into the house <1004 bayith > of thy servants <5650 <ebed >, and upon thy people <5971 <am >, and into thine ovens <8574 tannuwr >, and into thy kneadingtroughs <4863 mish>ereth >:

:4 And the frogs <6854 ts@phardea< > shall come <5927 <alah > up both on thee, and upon thy people <5971 <am >, and upon all <3605 kol > thy servants <5650 <ebed >.

:5 And the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > spake <0559 >amar > unto Moses <4872 Mosheh >, Say <0559 >amar > unto Aaron <0175 >Aharown >, Stretch <5186 natah > forth thine hand <3027 yad > with thy rod <4294 matteh > over <5921 <al > the streams <5104 nahar >, over <5921 <al > the rivers <2975 y@<or >, and over <5921 <al > the ponds <98>, and cause frogs <6854 ts@phardea< > to come <5927 <alah > up upon the land <0776 >erets > of Egypt <4714 Mitsrayim >.

:6 And Aaron <0175 >Aharown > stretched <5186 natah > out his hand <3027 yad > over <5921 <al > the waters <4325 mayim > of Egypt <4714 Mitsrayim >; and the frogs <6854 ts@phardea< > came <5927 <alah > up, and covered <3680 kacah > the land <0776 >erets > of Egypt <4714 Mitsrayim >.

:7 And the magicians <2748 chartom > did <6213 <asah > so with their enchantments <3909 lat >, and brought <5927 <alah > up frogs <6854 ts@phardea< > upon the land <0776 >erets > of Egypt <4714 Mitsrayim >.

:8 Then Pharaoh <6547 Par<oh > called <7121 qara> > for Moses <4872 Mosheh > and Aaron <0175 >Aharown >, and said <0559 >amar >, Intreat <6279 <athar > the LORD <3068 Y@hovah >, that he may take <5493 cuwr > away the frogs <6854 ts@phardea< > from me, and from my people <5971 <am >; and I will let the people <5971 <am > go <7971 shalach >, that they may do sacrifice <2076 zabach > unto the LORD <3068 Y@hovah >.

:12 And Moses <4872 Mosheh > and Aaron <0175 >Aharown > went <3318 yatsa> > out from Pharaoh <6547 Par<oh >:and Moses <4872 Mosheh > cried <6817 tsa<aq > unto the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > because of the frogs <6854 ts@phardea< > which <0834 >aher > he had brought <7760 suwm > against Pharaoh <6547 Par<oh >.

:13 And the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > did <6213 <asah > according to the word <1697 dabar > of Moses <4872 Mosheh >; and the frogs <6854 ts@phardea< > died <4191 muwth > out of the houses <1004 bayith >, out of the villages <2691 chatser >, and out of the fields <7704 sadeh >.

:4 And the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > shall sever <6395 palah > between <0996 beyn > the cattle <4735 miqneh > of Israel <3478 Yisra>el > and the cattle <4735 miqneh > of Egypt <4714 Mitsrayim >:and there shall nothing <3808 lo> > die <4191 muwth > of all <3605 kol > [that is] the children's <1121 ben > of Israel <3478 Yisra>el >.

:12 And the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > hardened <2388 chazaq > the heart <3820 leb > of Pharaoh <6547 Par<oh >, and he hearkened <8085 shama< > not unto them; as the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > had spoken <1696 dabar > unto Moses <4872 Mosheh >.

And the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > said <0559 >amar > unto Moses <4872 Mosheh >, Rise <6965 quwm > up early <7925 shakam > in the morning <1242 boqer >, and stand <3320 yatsab > before <6440 paniym > Pharaoh <6547 Par<oh >, and say <0559 >amar > unto him, Thus <3541 koh > saith <0559 >amar > the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > God <0430 >elohiym > of the Hebrews <5680 <Ibriy >, Let my people <5971 <am > go <7971 shalach >, that they may serve <5647 <abad > me.

:15 For now <6258 <attah > I will stretch <7971 shalach > out my hand <3027 yad >, that I may smite <5221 nakah > thee and thy people <5971 <am > with pestilence <1698 deber >; and thou shalt be cut <3582 kachad > off from the earth <0776 >erets >.

:16 And in very <0199 >uwlam > deed <0199 >uwlam > for this <2063 zo>th > [cause <5668 <abuwr >] have I raised <5975 <amad > thee up, for to shew <7200 ra>ah > [in] thee my power <3581 koach >; and that my name <8034 shem > may be declared <5608 caphar > throughout all <3605 kol > the earth <0776 >erets >.

:17 As yet <5750 <owd > exaltest <5549 calal > thou thyself against <5921 <al > my people <5971 <am >, that thou wilt not let them go <7971 shalach >?

:18 Behold <2005 hen >, to morrow <4279 machar > about this time <6256 <eth > I will cause it to rain <4305 matar > a very <3966 m@<od > grievous <3515 kabed > hail <1259 barad >, such as hath not been <1961 hayah > in Egypt <4714 Mitsrayim > since <4480 min > the foundation <3245 yacad > thereof even until <5704 <ad > now <6258 <attah >.

And the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > said <0559 >amar > unto Moses <4872 Mosheh >, Stretch <5186 natah > forth thine hand <3027 yad > toward heaven <8064 shamayim >, that there may be hail <1259 barad > in all <3605 kol > the land <0776 >erets > of Egypt <4714 Mitsrayim >, upon man <0120 >adam >, and upon beast <0929 b@hemah >, and upon every <3605 kol > herb <6212 <eseb > of the field <7704 sadeh >, throughout the land <0776 >erets > of Egypt <4714 Mitsrayim >.

:23 And Moses <4872 Mosheh > stretched <5186 natah > forth his rod <4294 matteh > toward heaven <8064 shamayim >:and the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > sent <5414 nathan > thunder <6963 qowl > and hail <1259 barad >, and the fire <0784 >esh > ran <1980 halak > along upon the ground <0776 >erets >; and the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > rained <4305 matar > hail <1259 barad > upon the land <0776 >erets > of Egypt <4714 Mitsrayim >.

:24 So there was hail <1259 barad >, and fire <0784 >esh > mingled <3947 laqach > with the hail <1259 barad >, very <3966 m@<od > grievous <3515 kabed >, such as there was none <3808 lo> > like <3644 k@mow > it in all <3605 kol > the land <0776 >erets > of Egypt <4714 Mitsrayim > since <4480 min > it became <1961 hayah > a nation <1471 gowy >.

:28 Intreat <6279 <athar > the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > (for [it is] enough <7227 rab >) that there be no <3808 lo> > [more] mighty <0430 >elohiym > thunderings <6963 qowl > and hail <1259 barad >; and I will <7522 ratsown > let you go <7971 shalach >, and ye shall stay <5975 <amad > no <3808 lo> > longer <3254 yacaph >.

:29 And Moses <4872 Mosheh > said <0559 >amar > unto him, As soon as I am gone <3318 yatsa> > out of the city <5892 <iyr >, I will spread <6566 paras > abroad <6566 paras > my hands <3709 kaph > unto the LORD <3068 Y@hovah >; [and] the thunder <6963 qowl > shall cease <2308 chadal >, neither <3808 lo> > shall there be any <5750 <owd > more <5750 <owd > hail <1259 barad >; that thou mayest know <3045 yada< > how that the earth <0776 >erets > [is] the LORD'S <3068 Y@hovah >.

:30 But as for thee and thy servants <5650 <ebed >, I know <3045 yada< > that ye will not yet <2962 terem > fear <3372 yare> > the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > God <0430 >elohiym >.

:31 And the flax <6594 pishtah > and the barley <8184 s@<orah > was smitten <5221 nakah >:for the barley <8184 s@<orah > [was] in the ear <24>, and the flax <6594 pishtah > [was] bolled <1392 gib<ol >.

:32 But the wheat <2406 chittah > and the rie <3698 kuccemeth > were not smitten <5221 nakah >:for they [were] not grown <0648 >aphiyl > up.

:33 And Moses <4872 Mosheh > went <3318 yatsa> > out of the city <5892 <iyr > from Pharaoh <6547 Par<oh >, and spread <6566 paras > abroad <6566 paras > his hands <3709 kaph > unto the LORD <3068 Y@hovah >:and the thunders <6963 qowl > and hail <1259 barad > ceased <2308 chadal >, and the rain <4306 matar > was not poured <5413 nathak > upon the earth <0776 >erets >.

:34 And when Pharaoh <6547 Par<oh > saw <7200 ra>ah > that the rain <4306 matar > and the hail <1259 barad > and the thunders <6963 qowl > were ceased <2308 chadal >, he sinned <2398 chata> > yet more <3254 yacaph >, and hardened <3513 kabad > his heart <3820 leb >, he and his servants <5650 <ebed >.

And the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > said <0559 >amar > unto Moses <4872 Mosheh >, Stretch <5186 natah > out thine hand <3027 yad > over <5921 <al > the land <0776 >erets > of Egypt <4714 Mitsrayim > for the locusts <0697 >arbeh >, that they may come <5927 <alah > up upon the land <0776 >erets > of Egypt <4714 Mitsrayim >, and eat <0398 >akal > every <3605 kol > herb <6212 <eseb > of the land <0776 >erets >, [even <0853 >eth >] all <3605 kol > that the hail <1259 barad > hath left <7604 sha>ar >.

:13 And Moses <4872 Mosheh > stretched <5186 natah > forth his rod <4294 matteh > over <5921 <al > the land <0776 >erets > of Egypt <4714 Mitsrayim >, and the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > brought <5090 nahag > an east <6921 qadiym > wind <7307 ruwach > upon the land <0776 >erets > all <3605 kol > that day <3117 yowm >, and all <3605 kol > [that] night <3915 layil >; [and] when it was morning <1242 boqer >, the east <6921 qadiym > wind <7307 ruwach > brought <5375 nasa> > the locusts <0697 >arbeh >.

:7 And they shall take <3947 laqach > of the blood <1818 dam >, and strike <5414 nathan > [it] on <5921 <al > the two <8147 sh@nayim > side posts <4201 m@zuwzah > and on <5921 <al > the upper <4947 mashqowph > door <4947 mashqowph > post <4947 mashqowph > of the houses <1004 bayith >, wherein <0834 >aher > they shall eat <0398 >akal > it.

:8 And they shall eat <0398 >akal > the flesh <1320 basar > in that night <3915 layil >, roast <6748 tsaliy > with fire <0784 >esh >, and unleavened <4682 matstsah > bread; [and] with bitter <4844 m@ror > [herbs] they shall eat <0398 >akal > it.

:23 For the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > will pass <5674 <abar > through to smite <5062 nagaph > the Egyptians <4714 Mitsrayim >; and when he seeth <7200 ra>ah > the blood <1818 dam > upon the lintel <4947 mashqowph >, and on <5921 <al > the two <8147 sh@nayim > side posts <4201 m@zuwzah >, the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > will pass <6452 pacach > over <5921 <al > the door <6607 pethach >, and will not suffer <5414 nathan > the destroyer <7843 shachath > to come <0935 bow> > in unto your houses <1004 bayith > to smite <5062 nagaph > [you].

:24 And ye shall observe <8104 shamar > this <2088 zeh > thing <1697 dabar > for an ordinance <2706 choq > to thee and to thy sons <1121 ben > for ever <5769 <owlam >.

:25 And it shall come <1961 hayah > to pass, when <3588 kiy > ye be come <0935 bow> > to the land <0776 >erets > which <0834 >aher > the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > will give <5414 nathan > you, according as he hath promised <1696 dabar >, that ye shall keep <8104 shamar > this service <5656 <abodah >.

:26 And it shall come <1961 hayah > to pass, when <3588 kiy > your children <1121 ben > shall say <0559 >amar > unto you, What <4100 mah > mean ye by this <2063 zo>th > service <5656 <abodah >?

:27 That ye shall say <0559 >amar >, It [is] the sacrifice <2077 zebach > of the LORD'S <3068 Y@hovah > passover <6453 pecach >, who <4310 miy > passed <6452 pacach > over <5921 <al > the houses <1004 bayith > of the children <1121 ben > of Israel <3478 Yisra>el > in Egypt <4714 Mitsrayim >, when he smote <5062 nagaph > the Egyptians <4714 Mitsrayim >, and delivered <5337 natsal > our houses <1004 bayith >. And the people <5971 <am > bowed <6915 qadad > the head and worshipped <7812 shachah >.

:28 And the children <1121 ben > of Israel <3478 Yisra>el > went <3212 yalak > away, and did <6213 <asah > as the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > had commanded <6680 tsavah > Moses <4872 Mosheh > and Aaron <0175 >Aharown >, so <3651 ken > did <6213 <asah > they.

:6 Seven <7651 sheba< > days <3117 yowm > thou shalt eat <0398 >akal > unleavened <4682 matstsah > bread, and in the seventh <7637 sh@biy<iy > day <3117 yowm > [shall be] a feast <2282 chag > to the LORD <3068 Y@hovah >.

:7 Unleavened <4682 matstsah > bread shall be eaten <0398 >akal > seven <7651 sheba< > days <3117 yowm >; and there shall no <3808 lo> > leavened <2557 chametz > bread be seen <7200 ra>ah > with thee, neither <3808 lo> > shall there be leaven <7603 s@>or > seen <7200 ra>ah > with thee in all <3605 kol > thy quarters <1366 g@buwl >.

:8 And thou shalt shew <5046 nagad > thy son <1121 ben > in that day <3117 yowm >, saying <0559 >amar >, [This is done] because <3588 kiy > of that [which] the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > did <6213 <asah > unto me when I came <3318 yatsa> > forth <3318 yatsa> > out of Egypt <4714 Mitsrayim >.

:9 And it shall be for a sign <0226 >owth > unto thee upon thine hand <3027 yad >, and for a memorial <2146 zikrown > between <0996 beyn > thine eyes <5869 <ayin >, that the LORD'S <3068 Y@hovah > law <8451 towrah > may be in thy mouth <6310 peh >:for with a strong <2389 chazaq > hand <3027 yad > hath the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > brought <3318 yatsa> > thee out of Egypt <4714 Mitsrayim >.

:10 Thou shalt therefore keep <8104 shamar > this <2063 zo>th > ordinance <2708 chuqqah > in his season <4150 mow<ed > from year <3117 yowm > to year <3117 yowm >.

:11. And it shall be when <3588 kiy > the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > shall bring <0935 bow> > thee into <0413 >el > the land <0776 >erets > of the Canaanites <3669 K@na<aniy >, as he sware <7650 shaba< > unto thee and to thy fathers <1>, and shall give <5414 nathan > it thee,

:13 And every <3605 kol > firstling <6363 peter > of an ass <2543 chamowr > thou shalt redeem <6299 padah > with a lamb <7716 seh >; and if <0518 >im > thou wilt not redeem <6299 padah > it, then thou shalt break <6202 <araph > his neck <6203 <oreph >:and all <3605 kol > the firstborn <1060 b@kowr > of man <0120 >adam > among thy children <1121 ben > shalt thou redeem <6299 padah >.

:14 And it shall be when <3588 kiy > thy son <1121 ben > asketh <7592 sha>al > thee in time <4279 machar > to come <4279 machar >, saying <0559 >amar >, What <4100 mah > [is] this <2063 zo>th >? that thou shalt say <0559 >amar > unto him, By strength <2392 chozeq > of hand <3027 yad > the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > brought <3318 yatsa> > us out from Egypt <4714 Mitsrayim >, from the house <1004 bayith > of bondage <5650 <ebed >:

:15 And it came <1961 hayah > to pass, when <3588 kiy > Pharaoh <6547 Par<oh > would hardly <7185 qashah > let us go <7971 shalach >, that the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > slew <2026 harag > all <3605 kol > the firstborn <1060 b@kowr > in the land <0776 >erets > of Egypt <4714 Mitsrayim >, both the firstborn <1060 b@kowr > of man <0120 >adam >, and the firstborn <1060 b@kowr > of beast <0929 b@hemah >:therefore I sacrifice <2076 zabach > to the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > all <3605 kol > that openeth <6363 peter > the matrix <7358 rechem >, being males <2145 zakar >; but all <3605 kol > the firstborn <1060 b@kowr > of my children <1121 ben > I redeem <6299 padah >.

:16 And it shall be for a token <0226 >owth > upon thine hand <3027 yad >, and for frontlets <2903 towphaphah > between <0996 beyn > thine eyes <5869 <ayin >:for by strength <2392 chozeq > of hand <3027 yad > the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > brought <3318 yatsa> > us forth <3318 yatsa> > out of Egypt <4714 Mitsrayim >.

And it came <1961 hayah > to pass, when Pharaoh <6547 Par<oh > had let the people <5971 <am > go <7971 shalach >, that God <0430 >elohiym > led <5148 nachah > them not [through] the way <1870 derek > of the land <0776 >erets > of the Philistines <6430 P@lishtiy >, although <3588 kiy > that [was] near <7138 qarowb >; for God <0430 >elohiym > said <0559 >amar >, Lest <6435 pen > peradventure the people <5971 <am > repent <5162 nacham > when they see <7200 ra>ah > war <4421 milchamah >, and they return <7725 shuwb > to Egypt <4714 Mitsrayim >:

:18 But God <0430 >elohiym > led <5437 cabab > the people <5971 <am > about <5437 cabab >, [through] the way <1870 derek > of the wilderness <4057 midbar > of the Red <5488 cuwph > sea <3220 yam >:and the children <1121 ben > of Israel <3478 Yisra>el > went <5927 <alah > up harnessed <2571 chamush > out of the land <0776 >erets > of Egypt <4714 Mitsrayim >.

:19 And Moses <4872 Mosheh > took <3947 laqach > the bones <6106 <etsem > of Joseph <3130 Yowceph > with him:for he had straitly sworn <7650 shaba< > the children <1121 ben > of Israel <3478 Yisra>el >, saying <0559 >amar >, God <0430 >elohiym > will surely visit <6485 paqad > you; and ye shall carry <5927 <alah > up my bones <6106 <etsem > away hence <2088 zeh > with you.

:20 And they took their journey <5265 naca< > from Succoth <5523 Cukkowth >, and encamped <2583 chanah > in Etham <0864 >Etham >, in the edge <7097 qatseh > of the wilderness <4057 midbar >.

:21 And the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > went <1980 halak > before <6440 paniym > them by day <3119 yowmam > in a pillar <5982 <ammuwd > of a cloud <6051 <anan >, to lead <5148 nachah > them the way <1870 derek >; and by night <3915 layil > in a pillar <5982 <ammuwd > of fire <0784 >esh >, to give them light <0216 >owr >; to go <3212 yalak > by day <3119 yowmam > and night <3915 layil >:

:22 He took <4185 muwsh > not away the pillar <5982 <ammuwd > of the cloud <6051 <anan > by day <3119 yowmam >, nor the pillar <5982 <ammuwd > of fire <0784 >esh > by night <3915 layil >, [from] before <6440 paniym > the people <5971 <am >.

:Exodus 14

:1. And the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > spake <1696 dabar > unto Moses <4872 Mosheh >, saying <0559 >amar >,

:4 And I will harden <2388 chazaq > Pharaoh's <6547 Par<oh > heart <3820 leb >, that he shall follow <7291 radaph > after <0310 >achar > them; and I will be honoured <3513 kabad > upon Pharaoh <6547 Par<oh >, and upon all <3605 kol > his host <2428 chayil >; that the Egyptians <4714 Mitsrayim > may know <3045 yada< > that I [am] the LORD <3068 Y@hovah >. And they did <6213 <asah > so <3651 ken >.

:5 And it was told <5046 nagad > the king <4428 melek > of Egypt <4714 Mitsrayim > that the people <5971 <am > fled <1272 barach >:and the heart <3824 lebab > of Pharaoh <6547 Par<oh > and of his servants <5650 <ebed > was turned <2015 haphak > against <0413 >el > the people <5971 <am >, and they said <0559 >amar >, Why <4100 mah > have we done <6213 <asah > this <2063 zo>th >, that we have let Israel <3478 Yisra>el > go <7971 shalach > from serving <5647 <abad > us?

:6 And he made ready <0631 >acar > his chariot <7393 rekeb >, and took <3947 laqach > his people <5971 <am > with him:

:7 And he took <3947 laqach > six <8337 shesh > hundred <3967 me>ah > chosen <0970 bachuwr > chariots <7393 rekeb >, and all <3605 kol > the chariots <7393 rekeb > of Egypt <4714 Mitsrayim >, and captains <7991 shaliysh > over <5921 <al > every <3605 kol > one of them.

:8 And the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > hardened <2388 chazaq > the heart <3820 leb > of Pharaoh <6547 Par<oh > king <4428 melek > of Egypt <4714 Mitsrayim >, and he pursued <7291 radaph > after <0310 >achar > the children <1121 ben > of Israel <3478 Yisra>el >:and the children <1121 ben > of Israel <3478 Yisra>el > went <3318 yatsa> > out with an high <7311 ruwm > hand <3027 yad >.

:9 But the Egyptians <4714 Mitsrayim > pursued <7291 radaph > after <0310 >achar > them, all <3605 kol > the horses <5483 cuwc > [and] chariots <7393 rekeb > of Pharaoh <6547 Par<oh >, and his horsemen <6571 parash >, and his army <2428 chayil >, and overtook <5381 nasag > them encamping <2583 chanah > by the sea <3220 yam >, beside <5921 <al > Pihahiroth <6367 Pi ha-Chiyroth >, before <6440 paniym > Baalzephon <1189 Ba<al Ts@phown >.

And when Pharaoh <6547 Par<oh > drew nigh <7126 qarab >, the children <1121 ben > of Israel <3478 Yisra>el > lifted <5375 nasa> > up their eyes <5869 <ayin >, and, behold <2009 hinneh >, the Egyptians <4714 Mitsrayim > marched <5265 naca< > after <0310 >achar > them; and they were sore <3966 m@<od > afraid <3372 yare> >:and the children <1121 ben > of Israel <3478 Yisra>el > cried <6817 tsa<aq > out unto the LORD <3068 Y@hovah >.

:11 And they said <0559 >amar > unto Moses <4872 Mosheh >, Because <1115 biltiy > [there were] no <0369 >ayin > graves <6913 qeber > in Egypt <4714 Mitsrayim >, hast thou taken <3947 laqach > us away to die <4191 muwth > in the wilderness <4057 midbar >? wherefore hast thou dealt <6213 <asah > thus <2063 zo>th > with us, to carry <3318 yatsa> > us forth <3318 yatsa> > out of Egypt <4714 Mitsrayim >?

:12 [Is] not this <2088 zeh > the word <1697 dabar > that we did tell <1696 dabar > thee in Egypt <4714 Mitsrayim >, saying <0559 >amar >, Let us alone <2308 chadal >, that we may serve <5647 <abad > the Egyptians <4714 Mitsrayim >? For [it had been] better <2896 towb > for us to serve <5647 <abad > the Egyptians <4714 Mitsrayim >, than that we should die <4191 muwth > in the wilderness <4057 midbar >.

:13 And Moses <4872 Mosheh > said <0559 >amar > unto the people <5971 <am >, Fear <3372 yare> > ye not, stand <3320 yatsab > still, and see <7200 ra>ah > the salvation <3444 y@shuw<ah > of the LORD <3068 Y@hovah >, which <0834 >aher > he will shew <6213 <asah > to you to day <3117 yowm >:for the Egyptians <4714 Mitsrayim > whom <0834 >aher > ye have seen <7200 ra>ah > to day <3117 yowm >, ye shall see <7200 ra>ah > them again <3254 yacaph > no <3808 lo> > more <5750 <owd > for ever <5769 <owlam >.

:14 The LORD <3068 Y@hovah > shall fight <3898 lacham > for you, and ye shall hold <2790 charash > your peace <2790 charash >.

:15. And the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > said <0559 >amar > unto Moses <4872 Mosheh >, Wherefore <4100 mah > criest <6817 tsa<aq > thou unto me? speak <1696 dabar > unto the children <1121 ben > of Israel <3478 Yisra>el >, that they go <5265 naca< > forward <5265 naca< >:

:16 But lift <7311 ruwm > thou up thy rod <4294 matteh >, and stretch <5186 natah > out thine hand <3027 yad > over <5921 <al > the sea <3220 yam >, and divide <1234 baqa< > it:and the children <1121 ben > of Israel <3478 Yisra>el > shall go <0935 bow> > on dry <3004 yabbashah > [ground] through <8432 tavek > the midst <8432 tavek > of the sea <3220 yam >.

:17 And I, behold <2005 hen >, I will harden <2388 chazaq > the hearts <3820 leb > of the Egyptians <4714 Mitsrayim >, and they shall follow <0310 >achar > them:and I will get <3513 kabad > me honour <3513 kabad > upon Pharaoh <6547 Par<oh >, and upon all <3605 kol > his host <2428 chayil >, upon his chariots <7393 rekeb >, and upon his horsemen <6571 parash >.

:18 And the Egyptians <4714 Mitsrayim > shall know <3045 yada< > that I [am] the LORD <3068 Y@hovah >, when I have gotten me honour <3513 kabad > upon Pharaoh <6547 Par<oh >, upon his chariots <7393 rekeb >, and upon his horsemen <6571 parash >.

:19 And the angel <4397 mal>ak > of God <0430 >elohiym >, which went <1980 halak > before <6440 paniym > the camp <4264 machaneh > of Israel <3478 Yisra>el >, removed <5265 naca< > and went <3212 yalak > behind <0310 >achar > them; and the pillar <5982 <ammuwd > of the cloud <6051 <anan > went <5265 naca< > from before <6440 paniym > their face, and stood <5975 <amad > behind <0310 >achar > them:

:20 And it came <0935 bow> > between <0996 beyn > the camp <4264 machaneh > of the Egyptians <4714 Mitsrayim > and the camp <4264 machaneh > of Israel <3478 Yisra>el >; and it was a cloud <6051 <anan > and darkness <2822 choshek > [to them], but it gave light <0216 >owr > by night <3915 layil > [to these]:so that the one <2088 zeh > came <7126 qarab > not near <7126 qarab > the other <2088 zeh > all <3605 kol > the night <3915 layil >.

:21. And Moses <4872 Mosheh > stretched <5186 natah > out his hand <3027 yad > over <5921 <al > the sea <3220 yam >; and the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > caused the sea <3220 yam > to go <3212 yalak > [back] by a strong <5794 <az > east <6921 qadiym > wind <7307 ruwach > all <3605 kol > that night <3915 layil >, and made <7760 suwm > the sea <3220 yam > dry <2724 charabah > [land], and the waters <4325 mayim > were divided <1234 baqa< >.

:22 And the children <1121 ben > of Israel <3478 Yisra>el > went <0935 bow> > into the midst <8432 tavek > of the sea <3220 yam > upon the dry <3004 yabbashah > [ground]:and the waters <4325 mayim > [were] a wall <2346 chowmah > unto them on their right <3225 yamiyn > hand <3225 yamiyn >, and on their left <8040 s@mo>wl >.

:23 And the Egyptians <4714 Mitsrayim > pursued <7291 radaph >, and went <0935 bow> > in after <0310 >achar > them to the midst <8432 tavek > of the sea <3220 yam >, [even] all <3605 kol > Pharaoh's <6547 Par<oh > horses <5483 cuwc >, his chariots <7393 rekeb >, and his horsemen <6571 parash >.

:24 And it came <1961 hayah > to pass, that in the morning <1242 boqer > watch <0821 >ashmurah > the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > looked <8259 shaqaph > unto the host <4264 machaneh > of the Egyptians <4714 Mitsrayim > through the pillar <5982 <ammuwd > of fire <0784 >esh > and of the cloud <6051 <anan >, and troubled <2000 hamam > the host <4264 machaneh > of the Egyptians <4714 Mitsrayim >,

:25 And took <5493 cuwr > off their chariot <4818 merkabah > wheels <0212 >owphan >, that they drave <5090 nahag > them heavily <3517 k@beduth >:so that the Egyptians <4714 Mitsrayim > said <0559 >amar >, Let us flee <5127 nuwc > from the face <6440 paniym > of Israel <3478 Yisra>el >; for the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > fighteth <3898 lacham > for them against the Egyptians <4714 Mitsrayim >.

:26 And the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > said <0559 >amar > unto Moses <4872 Mosheh >, Stretch <5186 natah > out thine hand <3027 yad > over <5921 <al > the sea <3220 yam >, that the waters <4325 mayim > may come <7725 shuwb > again <7725 shuwb > upon the Egyptians <4714 Mitsrayim >, upon their chariots <7393 rekeb >, and upon their horsemen <6571 parash >.

:27 And Moses <4872 Mosheh > stretched <5186 natah > forth his hand <3027 yad > over <5921 <al > the sea <3220 yam >, and the sea <3220 yam > returned <7725 shuwb > to his strength <0386 >eythan > when the morning <1242 boqer > appeared <6437 panah >; and the Egyptians <4714 Mitsrayim > fled <5127 nuwc > against <7125 qir>ah > it; and the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > overthrew <5287 na<ar > the Egyptians <4714 Mitsrayim > in the midst <8432 tavek > of the sea <3220 yam >.

And it came <1961 hayah > to pass, [that] on the sixth <8345 shishshiy > day <3117 yowm > they gathered <3950 laqat > twice <4932 mishneh > as much bread <3899 lechem >, two <8147 sh@nayim > omers <6016 <omer > for one <0259 >echad > [man]:and all <3605 kol > the rulers <5387 nasiy> > of the congregation <5712 <edah > came <0935 bow> > and told <5046 nagad > Moses <4872 Mosheh >.

:25 And Moses <4872 Mosheh > chose <0977 bachar > able <2428 chayil > men <0582 >enowsh > out of all <3605 kol > Israel <3478 Yisra>el >, and made <5414 nathan > them heads <7218 ro>sh > over <5921 <al > the people <5971 <am >, rulers <8269 sar > of thousands <0505 >eleph >, rulers <8269 sar > of hundreds <3967 me>ah >, rulers <8269 sar > of fifties <2572 chamishshiym >, and rulers <8269 sar > of tens <6235 <eser >.

:12. He that smiteth <5221 nakah > a man <0376 >iysh >, so that he die <4191 muwth >, shall be surely put to death <4191 muwth >.

:13 And if <0834 >aher > a man lie <6658 tsadah > not in wait <6658 tsadah >, but God <0430 >elohiym > deliver <0579 >anah > [him] into his hand <3027 yad >; then I will appoint <7760 suwm > thee a place <4725 maqowm > whither he shall flee <5127 nuwc >.

:14 But if <3588 kiy > a man <0376 >iysh > come presumptuously <2102 zuwd > upon his neighbour <7453 rea< >, to slay <2026 harag > him with guile <6195 <ormah >; thou shalt take <3947 laqach > him from mine altar <4196 mizbeach >, that he may die <4191 muwth >.

:15 And he that smiteth <5221 nakah > his father <1>, or his mother <0517 >em >, shall be surely put to death <4191 muwth >.

:16 And he that stealeth <1589 ganab > a man <0376 >iysh >, and selleth <4376 makar > him, or if he be found <4672 matsa> > in his hand <3027 yad >, he shall surely be put to death <4191 muwth >.

:17 And he that curseth <7043 qalal > his father <1>, or his mother <0517 >em >, shall surely be put to death <4191 muwth >.

:18 And if <3588 kiy > men <0582 >enowsh > strive <7378 riyb > together, and one smite <5221 nakah > another <7453 rea< > with a stone <68>, or <0176 >ow > with [his] fist <0106 >egroph >, and he die <4191 muwth > not, but keepeth <5307 naphal > [his] bed <4904 mishkab >:

:19 If <0518 >im > he rise <6965 quwm > again, and walk <1980 halak > abroad <2351 chuwts > upon his staff <4938 mish<enah >, then shall he that smote <5221 nakah > [him] be quit <5352 naqah >:only <7535 raq > he shall pay <5414 nathan > [for] the loss <7674 shebeth > of his time <7674 shebeth >, and shall cause [him] to be thoroughly <7495 rapha> > healed <7495 rapha> >.

:20 And if <3588 kiy > a man <0376 >iysh > smite <5221 nakah > his servant<5650 <ebed >, or <0176 >ow > his maid <0519 >amah >, with a rod <7626 shebet >, and he die <4191 muwth > under <8478 tachath > his hand <3027 yad >; he shall be surely punished <5358 naqam >.

:21 Notwithstanding <0389 >ak >, if <0518 >im > he continue <5975 <amad > a day <3117 yowm > or <0176 >ow > two, he shall not be punished <5358 naqam >:for he [is] his money <3701 keceph >.

:22. If <0518 >im > men <0582 >enowsh > strive <5327 natsah >, and hurt <5062 nagaph > a woman <0802 >ishshah > with child <2030 hareh >, so that her fruit <3206 yeled > depart <3318 yatsa> > [from her], and yet no <3808 lo> > mischief <0611 >acown > follow <1961 hayah >:he shall be surely punished <6064 <anash >, according as the woman's <0802 >ishshah > husband <1167 ba<al > will lay <7896 shiyth > upon him; and he shall pay <5414 nathan > as the judges <6414 paliyl > [determine].

:23 And if <0518 >im > [any] mischief <0611 >acown > follow <1961 hayah >, then thou shalt give <5414 nathan > life <5315 nephesh > for life <5315 nephesh >,

:26 And if <3588 kiy > a man <0376 >iysh > smite <5221 nakah > the eye <5869 <ayin > of his servant <5650 <ebed >, or <0176 >ow > the eye <5869 <ayin > of his maid <0519 >amah >, that it perish <7843 shachath >; he shall let him go <7971 shalach > free <2670 chophshiy > for his eye's <5869 <ayin > sake <8478 tachath >.

:27 And if <0518 >im > he smite <5307 naphal > out his manservant's <5650 <ebed > tooth <8127 shen >, or <0176 >ow > his maidservant's <0519 >amah > tooth <8127 shen >; he shall let him go <7971 shalach > free <2670 chophshiy > for his tooth's <8127 shen > sake <8478 tachath >.

:28 If <3588 kiy > an ox <7794 showr > gore <5055 nagach > a man <0376 >iysh > or <0176 >ow > a woman <0802 >ishshah >, that they die <4191 muwth >:then the ox <7794 showr > shall be surely stoned <5619 caqal >, and his flesh <1320 basar > shall not be eaten <0398 >akal >; but the owner <1167 ba<al > of the ox <7794 showr > [shall be] quit <5355 naqiy >.

:29 But if <0518 >im > the ox <7794 showr > were wont <5056 naggach > to push <5056 naggach > with his horn in time past <8032 shilshowm >, and it hath been testified <5749 <uwd > to his owner <1167 ba<al >, and he hath not kept <8104 shamar > him in, but that he hath killed <4191 muwth > a man <0376 >iysh > or <0176 >ow > a woman <0802 >ishshah >; the ox <7794 showr > shall be stoned <5619 caqal >, and his owner <1167 ba<al > also <1571 gam > shall be put to death <4191 muwth >.

:30 If <0518 >im > there be laid <7896 shiyth > on <5921 <al > him a sum <3724 kopher > of money, then he shall give <5414 nathan > for the ransom <6306 pidyowm > of his life <5315 nephesh > whatsoever is laid <7896 shiyth > upon him.

:31 Whether <0176 >ow > he have gored <5055 nagach > a son <1121 ben >, or <0176 >ow > have gored <5055 nagach > a daughter <1323 bath >, according to this <2088 zeh > judgment <4941 mishpat > shall it be done <6213 <asah > unto him.

:32 If <0518 >im > the ox <7794 showr > shall push <5055 nagach > a manservant <5650 <ebed > or <0176 >ow > a maidservant <0519 >amah >; he shall give <5414 nathan > unto their master <0113 >adown > thirty <7970 sh@lowshiym > shekels <8255 sheqel > of silver <3701 keceph >, and the ox <7794 showr > shall be stoned <5619 caqal >.

:33 And if <0518 >im > a man <0376 >iysh > shall open <6605 pathach > a pit <0953 bowr >, or <0176 >ow > if <0518 >im > a man <0376 >iysh > shall dig <3738 karah > a pit <0953 bowr >, and not cover <3680 kacah > it, and an ox <7794 showr > or <0176 >ow > an ass <2543 chamowr > fall <5307 naphal > therein <8033 sham >;

:34 The owner <1167 ba<al > of the pit <0953 bowr > shall make [it] good <7999 shalam >, [and] give <7725 shuwb > money <3701 keceph > unto the owner <1167 ba<al > of them; and the dead <4191 muwth > [beast] shall be his.

:35 And if <3588 kiy > one man's <0376 >iysh > ox <7794 showr > hurt <5062 nagaph > another's <7453 rea< >, that he die <4191 muwth >; then they shall sell <4376 makar > the live <2416 chay > ox <7794 showr >, and divide <2673 chatsah > the money <3701 keceph > of it; and the dead <4191 muwth > [ox] also <1571 gam > they shall divide <2673 chatsah >.

:36 Or <0176 >ow > if it be known <3045 yada< > that the ox <7794 showr > hath used to push <5056 naggach > in time past <8032 shilshowm >, and his owner <1167 ba<al > hath not kept <8104 shamar > him in; he shall surely pay <7999 shalam > ox <7794 showr > for ox <7794 showr >; and the dead <4191 muwth > shall be his own.

:Exodus 22

:1. :4 If <0518 >im > the theft <1591 g@nebah > be certainly found <4672 matsa> > in his hand <3027 yad > alive, whether <5704 <ad > it be ox <7794 showr >, or <5704 <ad > ass <2543 chamowr >, or <5704 <ad > sheep <7716 seh >; he shall restore <7999 shalam > double <8147 sh@nayim >.
