:9 And thou shalt come <0935 bow> > unto the priests <3548 kohen > the Levites <3881 Leviyiy >, and unto the judge <8199 shaphat > that shall be in those <1992 hem > days <3117 yowm >, and enquire <1875 darash >; and they shall shew <5046 nagad > thee the sentence <1697 dabar > of judgment <4941 mishpat >:

:14. When <3588 kiy > thou art come <0935 bow> > unto the land <0776 >erets > which <0834 >aher > the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > thy God <0430 >elohiym > giveth <5414 nathan > thee, and shalt possess <3423 yarash > it, and shalt dwell <3427 yashab > therein, and shalt say <0559 >amar >, I will set <7760 suwm > a king <4428 melek > over <5921 <al > me, like as all <3605 kol > the nations <1471 gowy > that [are] about <5439 cabiyb > me;

:15 Thou shalt in any wise set <7760 suwm > [him] king <4428 melek > over <5921 <al > thee, whom <0834 >aher > the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > thy God <0430 >elohiym > shall choose <0977 bachar >:[one] from among <7130 qereb > thy brethren <0251 >ach > shalt thou set <7760 suwm > king <4428 melek > over <5921 <al > thee:thou mayest <3201 yakol > not set <5414 nathan > a stranger over <5921 <al > thee, which <0834 >aher > [is] not thy brother <0251 >ach >.

:16 But he shall not multiply <7235 rabah > horses <5483 cuwc > to himself,nor <3808 lo> > cause the people <5971 <am > to return <7725 shuwb > to Egypt <4714 Mitsrayim >, to the end <4616 ma<an > that he should multiply <7235 rabah > horses <5483 cuwc >:forasmuch as the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > hath said <0559 >amar > unto you, Ye shall henceforth <3254 yacaph > return <7725 shuwb > no <3808 lo> > more <5750 <owd > that way <1870 derek >.

:17 Neither <3808 lo> > shall he multiply <7235 rabah > wives <0802 >ishshah > to himself, that his heart <3824 lebab > turn <5493 cuwr > not away:neither <3808 lo> > shall he greatly <3966 m@<od > multiply <7235 rabah > to himself silver <3701 keceph > and gold <2091 zahab >.

:18 And it shall be, when he sitteth <3427 yashab > upon the throne <3678 kicce> > of his kingdom <4467 mamlakah >, that he shall write <3789 kathab > him a copy <4932 mishneh > of this <2063 zo>th > law <8451 towrah > in a book <5612 cepher > out of [that which is] before <6440 paniym > the priests <3548 kohen > the Levites <3881 Leviyiy >:

:19 And it shall be with him, and he shall read <7121 qara> > therein all <3605 kol > the days <3117 yowm > of his life <2416 chay >:that he may learn <3925 lamad > to fear <3372 yare> > the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > his God <0430 >elohiym >, to keep <8104 shamar > all <3605 kol > the words <1697 dabar > of this <2063 zo>th > law <8451 towrah > and these <0428 >el-leh > statutes <2706 choq >, to do <6213 <asah > them:

:20 That his heart <3824 lebab > be not lifted <7311 ruwm > up above his brethren <0251 >ach >, and that he turn <5493 cuwr > not aside from the commandment <4687 mitsvah >, [to] the right <3225 yamiyn > hand <3225 yamiyn >, or [to] the left <8040 s@mo>wl >:to the end <4616 ma<an > that he may prolong <0748 >arak > [his] days <3117 yowm > in his kingdom <4467 mamlakah >, he, and his children <1121 ben >, in the midst <7130 qereb > of Israel <3478 Yisra>el >.

:Deuteronomy 18

:1. The priests <3548 kohen > the Levites <3881 Leviyiy >, [and] all <3605 kol > the tribe <7626 shebet > of Levi <3878 Leviy >, shall have no <3808 lo> > part <2506 cheleq > nor inheritance <5159 nachalah > with Israel <3478 Yisra>el >:they shall eat <0398 >akal > the offerings of the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > made by fire, and his inheritance <5159 nachalah >.

:2 Therefore shall they have no <3808 lo> > inheritance <5159 nachalah > among <7130 qereb > their brethren <0251 >ach >:the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > [is] their inheritance <5159 nachalah >, as he hath said <1696 dabar > unto them.

:3 And this <2088 zeh > shall be the priest's <3548 kohen > due <4941 mishpat > from the people <5971 <am >, from them that offer <2076 zabach > a sacrifice <2077 zebach >, whether <0518 >im > [it be] ox <7794 showr > or sheep <7716 seh >; and they shall give <5414 nathan > unto the priest <3548 kohen > the shoulder <2220 z@rowa< >, and the two <8147 sh@nayim > cheeks <3895 l@chiy >, and the maw <6896 qebah >.

:4 The firstfruit <7225 re>shiyth > [also] of thy corn <1715 dagan >, of thy wine <8492 tiyrowsh >, and of thine oil <3323 yitshar >, and the first <7225 re>shiyth > of the fleece <1488 gez > of thy sheep <6629 tso>n >, shalt thou give <5414 nathan > him.

:5 For the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > thy God <0430 >elohiym > hath chosen <0977 bachar > him out of all <3605 kol > thy tribes <7626 shebet >, to stand <5975 <amad > to minister <8334 sharath > in the name <8034 shem > of the LORD <3068 Y@hovah >, him and his sons <1121 ben > for ever.

:6 And if <3588 kiy > a Levite <3881 Leviyiy > come <0935 bow> > from any <0259 >echad > of thy gates <8179 sha<ar > out of all <3605 kol > Israel <3478 Yisra>el >, where he sojourned <1481 guwr >, and come <0935 bow> > with all <3605 kol > the desire <0183 >avah > of his mind <5315 nephesh > unto the place <4725 maqowm > which <0834 >aher > the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > shall choose <0977 bachar >;

:7 Then he shall minister <8334 sharath > in the name <8034 shem > of the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > his God <0430 >elohiym >, as all <3605 kol > his brethren <0251 >ach > the Levites <3881 Leviyiy > [do], which stand <5975 <amad > there <8033 sham > before <6440 paniym > the LORD <3068 Y@hovah >.

:8 They shall have like portions <2506 cheleq > to eat <0398 >akal >, beside <0905 bad > that which cometh of the sale <4465 mimkar > of his patrimony.

:9. When <3588 kiy > thou art come <0935 bow> > into <0413 >el > the land <0776 >erets > which <0834 >aher > the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > thy God <0430 >elohiym > giveth <5414 nathan > thee, thou shalt not learn <3925 lamad > to do <6213 <asah > after the abominations <8441 tow<ebah > of those <1992 hem > nations <1471 gowy >.

:10 There shall not be found <4672 matsa> > among you [any one] that maketh his son <1121 ben > or his daughter <1323 bath > to pass <5674 <abar > through the fire <0784 >esh >, [or] that useth divination <7081 qecem >, [or] an observer <6049 <anan > of times, or an enchanter <5172 nachash >, or a witch <3784 kashaph >,

:11 Or a charmer, or a consulter <7592 sha>al > with familiar spirits <0178 >owb >, or a wizard <3049 yidd@<oniy >, or a necromancer.

:12 For all <3605 kol > that do <6213 <asah > these <0428 >el-leh > things [are] an abomination <8441 tow<ebah > unto the LORD <3068 Y@hovah >:and because <1558 galal > of these <0428 >el-leh > abominations <8441 tow<ebah > the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > thy God <0430 >elohiym > doth drive <3423 yarash > them out from before <6440 paniym > thee.

:13 Thou shalt be perfect <8549 tamiym > with the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > thy God <0430 >elohiym >.

:14 For these <0428 >el-leh > nations <1471 gowy >, which <0834 >aher > thou shalt possess <3423 yarash >, hearkened <8085 shama< > unto observers <6049 <anan > of times, and unto diviners <7080 qacam >:but as for thee, the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > thy God <0430 >elohiym > hath not suffered <5414 nathan > thee so <3651 ken > [to do].

:15. The LORD <3068 Y@hovah > thy God <0430 >elohiym > will raise <6965 quwm > up unto thee a Prophet <5030 nabiy> > from the midst <7130 qereb > of thee, of thy brethren <0251 >ach >, like <3644 k@mow > unto me; unto him ye shall hearken <8085 shama< >;

:16 According to all <3605 kol > that thou desiredst <7592 sha>al > of the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > thy God <0430 >elohiym > in Horeb <2722 Choreb > in the day <3117 yowm > of the assembly <6951 qahal >, saying <0559 >amar >, Let me not hear <8085 shama< > again <3254 yacaph > the voice <6963 qowl > of the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > my God <0430 >elohiym >, neither <3808 lo> > let me see <7200 ra>ah > this <2063 zo>th > great <1419 gadowl > fire <0784 >esh > any more <5750 <owd >, that I die <4191 muwth > not.

:17 And the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > said <0559 >amar > unto me, They have well <3190 yatab > [spoken <1696 dabar > that] which <0834 >aher > they have spoken.

:18 I will raise <6965 quwm > them up a Prophet <5030 nabiy> > from among <7130 qereb > their brethren <0251 >ach >, like <3644 k@mow > unto thee, and will put <5414 nathan > my words <1697 dabar > in his mouth <6310 peh >; and he shall speak <1696 dabar > unto them all <3605 kol > that I shall command <6680 tsavah > him.

:19 And it shall come <1961 hayah > to pass, [that] whosoever will not hearken <8085 shama< > unto my words <1697 dabar > which <0834 >aher > he shall speak <1696 dabar > in my name <8034 shem >, I will require <1875 darash > [it] of him.

:20 But the prophet <5030 nabiy> >, which <0834 >aher > shall presume <2102 zuwd > to speak <1696 dabar > a word <1697 dabar > in my name <8034 shem >, which I have not commanded <6680 tsavah > him to speak <1696 dabar >, or that shall speak <1696 dabar > in the name <8034 shem > of other <0312 >acher > gods <0430 >elohiym >, even that prophet <5030 nabiy> > shall die <4191 muwth >.

:21 And if <3588 kiy > thou say <0559 >amar > in thine heart <3824 lebab >, How <0349 >eyk > shall we know <3045 yada< > the word <1697 dabar > which <0834 >aher > the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > hath not spoken <1696 dabar >?

:22 When <0834 >aher > a prophet <5030 nabiy> > speaketh <1696 dabar > in the name <8034 shem > of the LORD <3068 Y@hovah >, if the thing <1697 dabar > follow <1961 hayah > not, nor <3808 lo> > come <0935 bow> > to pass, that [is] the thing <1697 dabar > which <0834 >aher > the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > hath not spoken <1696 dabar >, [but] the prophet <5030 nabiy> > hath spoken <1696 dabar > it presumptuously <2087 zadown >:thou shalt not be afraid <1481 guwr > of him.

:Deuteronomy 19

:1. When <3588 kiy > the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > thy God <0430 >elohiym > hath cut <3772 karath > off the nations <1471 gowy >, whose <0834 >aher > land <0776 >erets > the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > thy God <0430 >elohiym > giveth <5414 nathan > thee, and thou succeedest <3423 yarash > them, and dwellest <3427 yashab > in their cities <5892 <iyr >, and in their houses <1004 bayith >;

:2 Thou shalt separate <0914 badal > three <7969 shalowsh > cities <5892 <iyr > for thee in the midst <8432 tavek > of thy land <0776 >erets >, which <0834 >aher > the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > thy God <0430 >elohiym > giveth <5414 nathan > thee to possess <3423 yarash > it.

:3 Thou shalt prepare <3559 kuwn > thee a way <1870 derek >, and divide the coasts <1366 g@buwl > of thy land <0776 >erets >, which <0834 >aher > the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > thy God <0430 >elohiym > giveth thee to inherit <5157 nachal >, into three <8027 shalash > parts, that every <3605 kol > slayer <7523 ratsach > may flee <5127 nuwc > thither <8033 sham >.

:4 And this <2088 zeh > [is] the case <1697 dabar > of the slayer <7523 ratsach >, which <0834 >aher > shall flee <5127 nuwc > thither <8033 sham >, that he may live <2425 chayay >:Whoso <0834 >aher > killeth <5221 nakah > his neighbour <7453 rea< > ignorantly, whom he hated <8130 sane> > not in time past <8032 shilshowm >;

:5 As when <0834 >aher > a man goeth <0935 bow> > into the wood <3293 ya<ar > with his neighbour <7453 rea< > to hew <2404 chatab > wood <6086 <ets >, and his hand <3027 yad > fetcheth <5080 nadach > a stroke with the axe <1631 garzen > to cut <3772 karath > down the tree <6086 <ets >, and the head <1270 barzel > slippeth <5394 nashal > from the helve <6086 <ets >, and lighteth <4672 matsa> > upon his neighbour <7453 rea< >, that he die <4191 muwth >; he shall flee <5127 nuwc > unto one <0259 >echad > of those <0428 >el-leh > cities <5892 <iyr >, and live <2425 chayay >:

:6 Lest <6435 pen > the avenger <1350 ga>al > of the blood <1818 dam > pursue <7291 radaph > the slayer <7523 ratsach >, while <3588 kiy > his heart <3824 lebab > is hot <3179 yacham >, and overtake <5381 nasag > him, because <3588 kiy > the way <1870 derek > is long <7235 rabah >, and slay <5221 nakah > him; whereas he [was] not worthy of death <4194 maveth >, inasmuch <3588 kiy > as he hated <8130 sane> > him not in time past <8032 shilshowm >.

:7 Wherefore I command <6680 tsavah > thee, saying <0559 >amar >, Thou shalt separate <0914 badal > three <7969 shalowsh > cities <5892 <iyr > for thee.

:8 And if <0518 >im > the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > thy God <0430 >elohiym > enlarge <7337 rachab > thy coast <1366 g@buwl >, as he hath sworn <7650 shaba< > unto thy fathers <1>, and give <5414 nathan > thee all <3605 kol > the land <0776 >erets > which <0834 >aher > he promised <1696 dabar > to give <5414 nathan > unto thy fathers <1>;

:9 If <3588 kiy > thou shalt keep <8104 shamar > all <3605 kol > these <2063 zo>th > commandments <4687 mitsvah > to do <6213 <asah > them, which <0834 >aher > I command <6680 tsavah > thee this day <3117 yowm >, to love <0157 >ahab > the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > thy God <0430 >elohiym >, and to walk <3212 yalak > ever in his ways <1870 derek >; then shalt thou add <3254 yacaph > three <7969 shalowsh > cities <5892 <iyr > more <5750 <owd > for thee, beside <5921 <al > these three <7969 shalowsh >:

:10 That innocent <5355 naqiy > blood <1818 dam > be not shed <8210 shaphak > in thy land <0776 >erets >, which <0834 >aher > the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > thy God <0430 >elohiym > giveth <5414 nathan > thee [for] an inheritance <5159 nachalah >, and [so] blood <1818 dam > be upon thee.

:11 But if <3588 kiy > any man <0376 >iysh > hate <8130 sane> > his neighbour <7453 rea< >, and lie <0693 >arab > in wait <0693 >arab > for him, and rise <6965 quwm > up against <5921 <al > him, and smite <5221 nakah > him mortally <5315 nephesh > that he die <4191 muwth >, and fleeth <5127 nuwc > into <0413 >el > one <0259 >echad > of these <0411 >el > cities <5892 <iyr >:

:12 Then the elders <2205 zaqen > of his city <5892 <iyr > shall send <7971 shalach > and fetch <3947 laqach > him thence <8033 sham >, and deliver <5414 nathan > him into the hand <3027 yad > of the avenger <1350 ga>al > of blood <1818 dam >, that he may die <4191 muwth >.

:13 Thine eye <5869 <ayin > shall not pity <2347 chuwc > him, but thou shalt put <1197 ba<ar > away <1197 ba<ar > [the guilt of] innocent <5355 naqiy > blood <1818 dam > from Israel <3478 Yisra>el >, that it may go well <2895 towb > with thee.

:14. Thou shalt not remove <5253 nacag > thy neighbour's <7453 rea< > landmark <1366 g@buwl >, which <0834 >aher > they of old <7223 ri>shown > time have set <1379 gabal > in thine inheritance <5159 nachalah >, which <0834 >aher > thou shalt inherit <5157 nachal > in the land <0776 >erets > that the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > thy God <0430 >elohiym > giveth <5414 nathan > thee to possess <3423 yarash > it.

:15 One <0259 >echad > witness <5707 <ed > shall not rise <6965 quwm > up against a man <0376 >iysh > for any <3605 kol > iniquity <5771 <avon >, or for any <3605 kol > sin <2403 chatta>ah >, in any <3605 kol > sin <2399 chet> > that he sinneth <2398 chata> >:at <5921 <al > the mouth <6310 peh > of two <8147 sh@nayim > witnesses <5707 <ed >, or at <5921 <al > the mouth <6310 peh > of three <7969 shalowsh > witnesses <5707 <ed >, shall the matter <1697 dabar > be established <6965 quwm >.

:16 If <3588 kiy > a false <2555 chamac > witness <5707 <ed > rise <6965 quwm > up against any man <0376 >iysh > to testify <6030 <anah > against him [that which is] wrong <5627 carah >;

:17 Then both <8147 sh@nayim > the men <0582 >enowsh >, between whom the controversy <7379 riyb > [is], shall stand <5975 <amad > before <6440 paniym > the LORD <3068 Y@hovah >, before <6440 paniym > the priests <3548 kohen > and the judges <8199 shaphat >, which <0834 >aher > shall be in those <1992 hem > days <3117 yowm >;

:18 And the judges <8199 shaphat > shall make diligent <3190 yatab > inquisition <1875 darash >:and, behold <2009 hinneh >, [if] the witness <5707 <ed > [be] a false <8267 sheqer > witness <5707 <ed >, [and] hath testified <6030 <anah > falsely <8267 sheqer > against his brother <0251 >ach >;

:19 Then shall ye do <6213 <asah > unto him, as he had thought <2161 zamam > to have done <6213 <asah > unto his brother <0251 >ach >:so shalt thou put <1197 ba<ar > the evil <7451 ra< > away <1197 ba<ar > from among <7130 qereb > you.

:20 And those which remain <7604 sha>ar > shall hear <8085 shama< >, and fear <3372 yare> >, and shall henceforth <3254 yacaph > commit <6213 <asah > no <3808 lo> > more <5750 <owd > any <1697 dabar > such evil <7451 ra< > among <7130 qereb > you.

:21 And thine eye <5869 <ayin > shall not pity <2347 chuwc >; [but] life <5315 nephesh > [shall go] for life <5315 nephesh >, eye <5869 <ayin > for eye <5869 <ayin >, tooth <8127 shen > for tooth <8127 shen >, hand <3027 yad > for hand <3027 yad >, foot <7272 regel > for foot <7272 regel >.

:Deuteronomy 20

:1. When <3588 kiy > thou goest <3318 yatsa> > out to battle <4421 milchamah > against <5921 <al > thine enemies <0341 >oyeb >, and seest <7200 ra>ah > horses <5483 cuwc >, and chariots <7393 rekeb >, [and] a people <5971 <am > more <7227 rab > than thou, be not afraid <3372 yare> > of them:for the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > thy God <0430 >elohiym > [is] with thee, which <0834 >aher > brought <5927 <alah > thee up out of the land <0776 >erets > of Egypt <4714 Mitsrayim >.

:2 And it shall be, when ye are come <7126 qarab > nigh <7126 qarab > unto the battle <4421 milchamah >, that the priest <3548 kohen > shall approach <5066 nagash > and speak <1696 dabar > unto the people <5971 <am >,

:3 And shall say <0559 >amar > unto them, Hear <8085 shama< >, O Israel <3478 Yisra>el >, ye approach <7126 qarab > this day <3117 yowm > unto battle <4421 milchamah > against <5921 <al > your enemies <0341 >oyeb >:let not your hearts <3824 lebab > faint <7401 rakak >, fear <3372 yare> > not, and do not tremble <2648 chaphaz >, neither <0408 >al > be ye terrified <6206 <arats > because <6440 paniym > of them;

:10. When <3588 kiy > thou comest <7126 qarab > nigh <7126 qarab > unto a city <5892 <iyr > to fight <3898 lacham > against <5921 <al > it, then proclaim <7121 qara> > peace <7965 shalowm > unto it.

:11 And it shall be, if <0518 >im > it make thee answer <6030 <anah > of peace <7965 shalowm >, and open <6605 pathach > unto thee, then it shall be, [that] all <3605 kol > the people <5971 <am > [that is] found <4672 matsa> > therein shall be tributaries <4522 mac > unto thee, and they shall serve <5647 <abad > thee.

:12 And if <0518 >im > it will make no <3808 lo> > peace <7999 shalam > with thee, but will make <6213 <asah > war <4421 milchamah > against <5973 <im > thee, then thou shalt besiege <6696 tsuwr > it:

:21 And all <3605 kol > the men <0582 >enowsh > of his city <5892 <iyr > shall stone <7275 ragam > him with stones <68>, that he die <4191 muwth >:so shalt thou put <1197 ba<ar > evil <7451 ra< > away <1197 ba<ar > from among <7130 qereb > you; and all <3605 kol > Israel <3478 Yisra>el > shall hear <8085 shama< >, and fear <3372 yare> >.

:15 Then shall the father <1> of the damsel <5291 na<arah >, and her mother <0517 >em >, take <3947 laqach > and bring <3318 yatsa> > forth <3318 yatsa> > [the tokens of] the damsel's <5291 na<arah > virginity <1331 b@thuwliym > unto the elders <2205 zaqen > of the city <5892 <iyr > in the gate <8179 sha<ar >:

:16 And the damsel's <5291 na<arah > father <1> shall say <0559 >amar > unto the elders <2205 zaqen >, I gave <5414 nathan > my daughter <1323 bath > unto this <2088 zeh > man <0376 >iysh > to wife <0802 >ishshah >, and he hateth <8130 sane> > her;
