:3 So Solomon <8010 Sh@lomoh >, and all <3605 kol > the congregation <6951 qahal > with him, went <3212 yalak > to the high <1116 bamah > place that [was] at Gibeon <1391 Gib<own >; for there <8033 sham > was the tabernacle <0168 >ohel > of the congregation <4150 mow<ed > of God <0430 >elohiym >, which <0834 >aher > Moses <4872 Mosheh > the servant <5650 <ebed > of the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > had <1961 hayah > made <6213 <asah > in the wilderness <4057 midbar >.
:4 But the ark <0727 >arown > of God <0430 >elohiym > had David <1732 David > brought <5927 <alah > up from Kirjathjearim <7157 Qiryath Y@<ariym > to [the place which] David <1732 David > had prepared <3559 kuwn > for it:for he had pitched <5186 natah > a tent <0168 >ohel > for it at Jerusalem <3389 Y@ruwshalaim >.
:5 Moreover the brasen <5178 n@chosheth > altar <4196 mizbeach >, that Bezaleel <1212 B@tsal>el > the son <1121 ben > of Uri <0221 >Uwriy >, the son <1121 ben > of Hur <2354 Chuwr >, had made <6213 <asah >, he put <7760 suwm > before <6440 paniym > the tabernacle <4908 mishkan > of the LORD <3068 Y@hovah >:and Solomon <8010 Sh@lomoh > and the congregation <6951 qahal > sought <1875 darash > unto it.
:6 And Solomon <8010 Sh@lomoh > went <5927 <alah > up thither <8033 sham > to the brasen <5178 n@chosheth > altar <4196 mizbeach > before <6440 paniym > the LORD <3068 Y@hovah >, which [was] at the tabernacle <0168 >ohel > of the congregation <4150 mow<ed >, and offered <5927 <alah > a thousand <0505 >eleph > burnt <5930 <olah > offerings upon it.
:7 In that night <3915 layil > did God <0430 >elohiym > appear <7200 ra>ah > unto Solomon <8010 Sh@lomoh >, and said <0559 >amar > unto him, Ask <7592 sha>al > what <4100 mah > I shall give <5414 nathan > thee.
:8 And Solomon <8010 Sh@lomoh > said <0559 >amar > unto God <0430 >elohiym >, Thou hast shewed <6213 <asah > great <1419 gadowl > mercy <2617 checed > unto David <1732 David > my father <25>, and hast made me to reign <4427 malak > in his stead <8478 tachath >.
:9 Now <6258 <attah >, O LORD <3068 Y@hovah > God <0430 >elohiym >, let thy promise <1697 dabar > unto David <1732 David > my father <25> be established <0539 >aman >:for thou hast made me king <4427 malak > over <5921 <al > a people <5971 <am > like the dust <6083 <aphar > of the earth <0776 >erets > in multitude <7227 rab >.
:10 Give <5414 nathan > me now <6258 <attah > wisdom <2451 chokmah > and knowledge <4093 madda< >, that I may go <3318 yatsa> > out and come <0935 bow> > in before <6440 paniym > this <2088 zeh > people <5971 <am >:for who <4310 miy > can judge <8199 shaphat > this <2088 zeh > thy people <5971 <am >, [that is so] great <1419 gadowl >?
:11 And God <0430 >elohiym > said <0559 >amar > to Solomon <8010 Sh@lomoh >, Because this <2063 zo>th > was in thine heart <3824 lebab >, and thou hast not asked <7592 sha>al > riches <6239 <osher >, wealth <5233 nekec >, or honour <3519 kabowd >, nor the life <5315 nephesh > of thine enemies <8130 sane> >, neither <3808 lo> > yet <1571 gam > hast asked <7592 sha>al > long <7227 rab > life <3117 yowm >; but hast asked <7592 sha>al > wisdom <2451 chokmah > and knowledge <4093 madda< > for thyself, that thou mayest judge <8199 shaphat > my people <5971 <am >, over <5921 <al > whom I have made thee king <4427 malak >:
:12 Wisdom <2451 chokmah > and knowledge <4093 madda< > [is] granted <5414 nathan > unto thee; and I will give <5414 nathan > thee riches <6239 <osher >, and wealth <5233 nekec >, and honour <3519 kabowd >, such <0834 >aher > as none <3808 lo> > of the kings <4428 melek > have had <1961 hayah > that [have been] before <6440 paniym > thee, neither <3808 lo> > shall there any after <0310 >achar > thee have <1961 hayah > the like <3651 ken >.

Then Solomon <8010 Sh@lomoh > came <0935 bow> > [from his journey] to the high <1116 bamah > place that [was] at Gibeon <1391 Gib<own > to Jerusalem <3389 Y@ruwshalaim >, from before <6440 paniym > the tabernacle <0168 >ohel > of the congregation <4150 mow<ed >, and reigned <4427 malak > over <5921 <al > Israel <3478 Yisra>el >.
:14 And Solomon <8010 Sh@lomoh > gathered <0622 >acaph > chariots <7393 rekeb > and horsemen <6571 parash >:and he had <1961 hayah > a thousand <0505 >eleph > and four <0702 >arba< > hundred <3967 me>ah > chariots <7393 rekeb >, and twelve thousand <0505 >eleph > horsemen <6571 parash >, which he placed <3240 yanach > in the chariot <7393 rekeb > cities <5892 <iyr >, and with the king <4428 melek > at Jerusalem <3389 Y@ruwshalaim >.
:15 And the king <4428 melek > made <5414 nathan > silver <3701 keceph > and gold <2091 zahab > at Jerusalem <3389 Y@ruwshalaim > [as plenteous] as stones <68>, and cedar <0730 >erez > trees made <5414 nathan > he as the sycomore <8256 shaqam > trees that [are] in the vale <8219 sh@phelah > for abundance <7230 rob >.
:16 And Solomon <8010 Sh@lomoh > had horses <5483 cuwc > brought <4161 mowtsa> > out of Egypt <4714 Mitsrayim >, and linen <4723 miqveh > yarn <4723 miqveh >:the king's <4428 melek > merchants <5503 cachar > received <3947 laqach > the linen <4723 miqveh > yarn <4723 miqveh > at a price <4242 m@chiyr >.
:17 And they fetched <5927 <alah > up, and brought <3318 yatsa> > forth <3318 yatsa> > out of Egypt <4714 Mitsrayim > a chariot <4818 merkabah > for six <8337 shesh > hundred <3967 me>ah > [shekels] of silver <3701 keceph >, and an horse <5483 cuwc > for an hundred <3967 me>ah > and fifty <2572 chamishshiym >:and so brought <3318 yatsa> > they out [horses <5483 cuwc >] for all <3605 kol > the kings <4428 melek > of the Hittites <2850 Chittiy >, and for the kings <4428 melek > of Syria <0758 >Aram >, by their means <3027 yad >.

:2 And Solomon <8010 Sh@lomoh > told <5608 caphar > out threescore <7657 shib<iym. > and ten thousand <0505 >eleph > men <0376 >iysh > to bear <5445 cabal > burdens <5449 cabbal >, and fourscore <8084 sh@moniym > thousand <0505 >eleph > to hew <2672 chatsab > in the mountain <2022 har >, and three <7969 shalowsh > thousand <0505 >eleph > and six <8337 shesh > hundred <3967 me>ah > to oversee <5329 natsach > them.
:3 And Solomon <8010 Sh@lomoh > sent <7971 shalach > to Huram <2361 Chuwram > the king <4428 melek > of Tyre <6865 Tsor >, saying <0559 >amar >, As thou didst deal <6213 <asah > with David <1732 David > my father <25>, and didst send <7971 shalach > him cedars <0730 >erez > to build <1129 banah > him an house <1004 bayith > to dwell <3427 yashab > therein, [even so deal with me].
:4 Behold <2009 hinneh >, I build <1129 banah > an house <1004 bayith > tothe name <8034 shem > of the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > my God <0430 >elohiym >, to dedicate <6942 qadash > [it] to him, [and] to burn <6999 qatar > before <6440 paniym > him sweet <5561 cam > incense <7004 q@toreth >, and for the continual <8548 tamiyd > shewbread <4635 ma<areketh >, and for the burnt <5930 <olah > offerings morning <1242 boqer > and evening <6153 <ereb >, on the sabbaths <7676 shabbath >, and on the new <2320 chodesh > moons <2320 chodesh >, and on the solemn <4150 mow<ed > feasts <4150 mow<ed > of the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > our God <0430 >elohiym >. :5 And the house <1004 bayith > which <0834 >aher > I build <1129 banah > [is] great <1419 gadowl >:for great <1419 gadowl > [is] our God <0430 >elohiym > above all <3605 kol > gods <0430 >elohiym >.
:6 But who <4310 miy > is able to build <1129 banah > him an house <1004 bayith >, seeing the heaven <8064 shamayim > and heaven <8064 shamayim > of heavens <8064 shamayim > cannot <3808 lo> > contain <3557 kuwl > him? who <4310 miy > [am] I then, that I should build <1129 banah > him an house <1004 bayith >, save <0518 >im > only to burn <6999 qatar > sacrifice before <6440 paniym > him?
:7 Send <7971 shalach > me now <6258 <attah > therefore a man <0376 >iysh > cunning <2450 chakam > to work <6213 <asah > in gold <2091 zahab >, and in silver <3701 keceph >, and in brass <5178 n@chosheth >, and in iron <1270 barzel >, and in purple <0710 >arg@van >, and crimson <3758 karmiyl >, and blue <8504 t@keleth >, and that can skill <3045 yada< > to grave <6603 pittuwach > with the cunning <2450 chakam > men that [are] with me in Judah <3063 Y@huwdah > and in Jerusalem <3389 Y@ruwshalaim >, whom <0834 >aher > David <1732 David > my father <25> did provide <3559 kuwn >.
:8 Send <7971 shalach > me also cedar <0730 >erez > trees <6086 <ets >, fir <1265 b@rowsh > trees, and algum <0418 >alguwmmiym > trees, out of Lebanon <3844 L@banown >:for I know <3045 yada< > that thy servants <5650 <ebed > can skill <3045 yada< > to cut <3772 karath > timber <6086 <ets > in Lebanon <3844 L@banown >; and, behold <2009 hinneh >, my servants <5650 <ebed > [shall be] with thy servants <5650 <ebed >,
:9 Even to prepare <3559 kuwn > me timber <6086 <ets > in abundance <7230 rob >:for the house <1004 bayith > which <0834 >aher > I am about to build <1129 banah > [shall be] wonderful <6381 pala> > great <1419 gadowl >.
:10 And, behold <2009 hinneh >, I will give <5414 nathan > to thy servants <5650 <ebed >, the hewers <2404 chatab > that cut <3772 karath > timber <6086 <ets >, twenty <6242 <esriym > thousand <0505 >eleph > measures <3734 kor > of beaten <4347 makkah > wheat <2406 chittah >, and twenty <6242 <esriym > thousand <0505 >eleph > measures <3734 kor > of barley <8184 s@<orah >, and twenty <6242 <esriym > thousand <0505 >eleph > baths <1324 bath > of wine <3196 yayin >, and twenty <6242 <esriym > thousand <0505 >eleph > baths <1324 bath > of oil <8081 shemen >.
:11. Then Huram <2438 Chiyram > the king <4428 melek > of Tyre <6865 Tsor > answered <0559 >amar > in writing <3791 kathab >, which he sent <7971 shalach > to Solomon <8010 Sh@lomoh >, Because the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > hath loved <0160 >ahabah > his people <5971 <am >, he hath made <5414 nathan > thee king <4427 malak > over <5921 <al > them.
:12 Huram <2361 Chuwram > said <0559 >amar > moreover, Blessed <1288 barak > [be] the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > God <0430 >elohiym > of Israel <3478 Yisra>el >, that made <6213 <asah > heaven <8064 shamayim > and earth <0776 >erets >, who <0834 >aher > hath given <5414 nathan > to David <1732 David > the king <4428 melek > a wise <2450 chakam > son <1121 ben >, endued <3045 yada< > with prudence <7922 sekel > and understanding <0998 biynah >, that might build <1129 banah > an house <1004 bayith > for the LORD <3068 Y@hovah >, and an house <1004 bayith > for his kingdom.
:13 And now <6258 <attah > I have sent <7971 shalach > a cunning <2450 chakam > man <0376 >iysh >, endued <3045 yada< > with understanding <0998 biynah >, of Huram <2438 Chiyram > my father's <1>,
:14 The son <1121 ben > of a woman <0802 >ishshah > of the daughters <1121 ben > of Dan <1835 Dan >, and his father <25> [was] a man <0376 >iysh > of Tyre <6876 Tsoriy >, skilful <3045 yada< > to work <6213 <asah > in gold <2091 zahab >, and in silver <3701 keceph >, in brass <5178 n@chosheth >, in iron <1270 barzel >, in stone <68>, and in timber <6086 <ets >, in purple <0713 >argaman >, in blue <8504 t@keleth >, and in fine linen <0948 buwts >, and in crimson <3758 karmiyl >; also to grave <6605 pathach > any <3605 kol > manner of graving <6603 pittuwach >, and to find <2803 chashab > out every <3605 kol > device <4284 machashabah > which <0834 >aher > shall be put <5414 nathan > to him, with thy cunning <2450 chakam > men, and with the cunning <2450 chakam > men of my lord <0113 >adown > David <1732 David > thy father <25>.
:15 Now <6258 <attah > therefore the wheat <2406 chittah >, and the barley <8184 s@<orah >, the oil <8081 shemen >, and the wine <3196 yayin >, which <0834 >aher > my lord <0113 >adown > hath spoken <0559 >amar > of, let him send <7971 shalach > unto his servants <5650 <ebed >:
:16 And we will cut <3772 karath > wood <6086 <ets > out of Lebanon <3844 L@banown >, as much <3605 kol > as thou shalt need <6878 tsorek >:and we will bring <0935 bow> > it to thee in floats by sea <3220 yam > to Joppa <3305 Yapho >; and thou shalt carry <5927 <alah > it up to Jerusalem <3389 Y@ruwshalaim >.
:17 And Solomon <8010 Sh@lomoh > numbered <5608 caphar > all <3605 kol > the strangers that [were] in the land <0776 >erets > of Israel <3478 Yisra>el >, after <0310 >achar > the numbering <5610 c@phar > wherewith <0834 >aher > David <1732 David > his father <25> had numbered <5608 caphar > them; and they were found <4672 matsa> > an hundred <3967 me>ah > and fifty <2572 chamishshiym > thousand <0505 >eleph > and three <7969 shalowsh > thousand <0505 >eleph > and six <8337 shesh > hundred <3967 me>ah >.
:18 And he set <6213 <asah > threescore <7657 shib<iym. > and ten thousand <0505 >eleph > of them [to be] bearers <5449 cabbal > of burdens <5449 cabbal >, and fourscore <8084 sh@moniym > thousand <0505 >eleph > [to be] hewers <2672 chatsab > in the mountain <2022 har >, and three <7969 shalowsh > thousand <0505 >eleph > and six <8337 shesh > hundred <3967 me>ah > overseers <5329 natsach > to set the people <5971 <am > a work <5647 <abad >.

:2 And he began <2490 chalal > to build <1129 banah > in the second <8145 sheniy > [day] of the second <8145 sheniy > month <2320 chodesh >, in the fourth <0702 >arba< > year <8141 shaneh > of his reign <4438 malkuwth >.
:3 Now these <0428 >el-leh > [are the things wherein] Solomon <8010 Sh@lomoh > was instructed <3245 yacad > for the building <1129 banah > of the house <1004 bayith > of God <0430 >elohiym >. The length <0753 >orek > by cubits <0520 >ammah > after the first <7223 ri>shown > measure <4060 middah > [was] threescore <8346 shishshiym > cubits <0520 >ammah >, and the breadth <7341 rochab > twenty <6242 <esriym > cubits <0520 >ammah >.
:4 And the porch <0197 >uwlam > that [was] in the front <6440 paniym > [of the house], the length <0753 >orek > [of it was] according <5921 <al > to the breadth <7341 rochab > of the house <1004 bayith >, twenty <6242 <esriym > cubits <0520 >ammah >, and the height <1363 gobahh > [was] an hundred <3967 me>ah > and twenty <6242 <esriym >:and he overlaid <6823 tsaphah > it within <6441 p@niymah > with pure <2889 tahowr > gold <2091 zahab >.
:5 And the greater <1419 gadowl > house <1004 bayith > he cieled <2645 chaphah > with fir <1265 b@rowsh > tree <6086 <ets >, which he overlaid <2645 chaphah > with fine <2896 towb > gold <2091 zahab >, and set <5927 <alah > thereon <5921 <al > palm <8561 timmor > trees and chains <8333 sharah@rah >.
:6 And he garnished <6823 tsaphah > the house <1004 bayith > with precious<3368 yaqar > stones <68> for beauty <8597 tiph>arah >:and the gold <2091 zahab > [was] gold <2091 zahab > of Parvaim <6516 Parvayim >.
:7 He overlaid <2645 chaphah > also the house <1004 bayith >, the beams <6982 qowrah >, the posts <5592 caph >, and the walls <7023 qiyr > thereof, and the doors <1817 deleth > thereof, with gold <2091 zahab >; and graved <6605 pathach > cherubims <3742 k@ruwb > on <5921 <al > the walls <7023 qiyr >.
:8 And he made <6213 <asah > the most <6944 qodesh > holy <6944 qodesh > house <1004 bayith >, the length <0753 >orek > whereof [was] according <5921 <al > to the breadth <7341 rochab > of the house <1004 bayith >, twenty <6242 <esriym > cubits <0520 >ammah >, and the breadth <7341 rochab > thereof twenty <6242 <esriym > cubits <0520 >ammah >:and he overlaid <2645 chaphah > it with fine <2896 towb > gold <2091 zahab >, [amounting] to six <8337 shesh > hundred <3967 me>ah > talents <3603 kikkar >.
:9 And the weight <4948 mishqal > of the nails <4548 macmer > [was] fifty <2572 chamishshiym > shekels <8255 sheqel > of gold <2091 zahab >. And he overlaid <2645 chaphah > the upper <5944 <aliyah > chambers <5944 <aliyah > with gold <2091 zahab >.
:10. And in the most <6944 qodesh > holy <6944 qodesh > house <1004 bayith > he made <6213 <asah > two <8147 sh@nayim > cherubims <3742 k@ruwb > of image <6816 tsa<tsua< > work <4639 ma<aseh >, and overlaid <6823 tsaphah > them with gold <2091 zahab >.
:11 And the wings <3671 kanaph > of the cherubims <3742 k@ruwb > [were] twenty <6242 <esriym > cubits <0520 >ammah > long <0753 >orek >:one <0259 >echad > wing <3671 kanaph > [of the one cherub was] five <2568 chamesh > cubits <0520 >ammah >, reaching <5060 naga< > to the wall <7023 qiyr > of the house <1004 bayith >:and the other <0312 >acher > wing <3671 kanaph > [was likewise] five <2568 chamesh > cubits <0520 >ammah >, reaching <5060 naga< > to the wing <3671 kanaph > of the other <0312 >acher > cherub <3742 k@ruwb >.
:12 And [one] wing <3671 kanaph > of the other <0259 >echad > cherub <3742k@ruwb > [was] five <2568 chamesh > cubits <0520 >ammah >, reaching <5060 naga< > to the wall <7023 qiyr > of the house <1004 bayith >:and the other <0312 >acher > wing <3671 kanaph > [was] five <2568 chamesh > cubits <0520 >ammah > [also], joining <1692 dabaq > to the wing <3671 kanaph > of the other <0312 >acher > cherub <3742 k@ruwb >.
:13 The wings <3671 kanaph > of these <0428 >el-leh > cherubims <3742 k@ruwb > spread <6566 paras > themselves forth twenty <6242 <esriym > cubits <0520 >ammah >:and they stood <5975 <amad > on <5921 <al > their feet <7272 regel >, and their faces <6440 paniym > [were] inward <1004 bayith >.
:14 And he made <6213 <asah > the vail <6532 poreketh > [of] blue <8504 t@keleth >, and purple <0713 >argaman >, and crimson <3758 karmiyl >, and fine linen <0948 buwts >, and wrought <5927 <alah > cherubims <3742 k@ruwb > thereon <5921 <al >.
:15 Also he made <6213 <asah > before <6440 paniym > the house <1004 bayith > two <8147 sh@nayim > pillars <5982 <ammuwd > of thirty <7970 sh@lowshiym > and five <2568 chamesh > cubits <0520 >ammah > high <0753 >orek >, and the chapiter <6858 tsepheth > that [was] on <5921 <al > the top <7218 ro>sh > of each of them [was] five <2568 chamesh > cubits <0520 >ammah >.
:16 And he made <6213 <asah > chains <8333 sharah@rah >, [as] in the oracle <1687 d@biyr >, and put <5414 nathan > [them] on <5921 <al > the heads <7218 ro>sh > of the pillars <5982 <ammuwd >; and made <6213 <asah > an hundred <3967 me>ah > pomegranates <7416 rimmown >, and put <5414 nathan > [them] on the chains <8333 sharah@rah >.
:17 And he reared <6965 quwm > up the pillars <5982 <ammuwd > before <5921 <al > the temple <1964 heykal >, one <0259 >echad > on the right <3225 yamiyn > hand, and the other <0259 >echad > on the left <8040 s@mo>wl >; and called <7121 qara> > the name <8034 shem > of that on the right <3227 y@miyniy > hand <3027 yad > Jachin <3199 Yakiyn >, and the name <8034 shem > of that on the left <8042 s@ma>liy > Boaz <1162 Bo<az >.
